Phil Mickelson sent a message to the PGA tour that fan usage of cellphones on the course was getting out of hand. Does he have a point?
trackmvp03: "at least with my phone when the phone is on vibrate the camera is silent (just tried it). So not only are these people ignoring the rule to not take pictures with their phones but they are probably being stupid about it and not turning their phones to silent."
MotorCityMashers: "Lefty complains on Thursday when about 50 cellphones are taken from the crowd while Tigers group had around a 100. On Thursday! Can you imagine what it was like on Sunday with the last two groups? But Phil can only imagine. He quit. "
jmgogi: "The solution is simple. Tell Phil and the rest of them to adapt to it and suck it up. The sport would be more exciting if every hole was like the sixteenth hole at the Phoenix Open. If you can't handle the distractions, find another line of work. "
marssc: "Yeah, not going to lie, I was surprised when the PGA lifted the cell phone ban. They are annoying, but they are pros, get over it"
CooLSoSa: "You don't hear quarterbacks complaining when the audience gets loud on third downs."
NeonRidr: "I am sure Tiger had thousands of people snapping pics of him with their cellphones, but that certainly didn't stop him from winning the tournament."
