Tedy Bruschi
The Lions selected Avril with the 92nd overall pick in the 2008 draft.

Welcome to SportsNation! On Wednesday, Detroit Lions defensive end Cliff Avril stops by to chat about the upcoming NFL season. Detroit put the franchise tag on Avril and the two sides were unable to sign a long-term contract prior to Monday's deadline. The franchise tag will pay him $10.6 million in 2012.

Avril, @cliffavril, finished playing under a one-year contract following the 2011 season, when he set career highs in sacks (11) and forced fumbles (6). The Lions finished 10-6 for the team's best record since 1995.

Send your questions now and join Avril Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. ET!
