Felix Baumgartner did about a million different awesome things in his record-setting skydive from the edge of space, but for our money, having the guts to step out of his capsule, look straight down, and jump trumps just about anything any other daredevil has ever done. What was your favorite part?

• sepher76: "Humans physically competing is the definition of sport. Attempting and outdoing your fellow man in an act that causes you to free-fall over 800 mph is a sport in my book."
• deerock267: "When the hatch on that capsule opened up, I got goosebumps."
• dodgertodd88: "The spinning was the most dangerous part. On shorter jumps a spinner will pass out and automatic chute-pulling safeties will kick in. But when falling for five minutes, at the speeds he was going, the spinning can cause permanent brain damage."
• TonytheTigerKC: "So? Big deal. I jumped from my garage when I was 10 without the aid of a parachute or a special suit. I didn't break the sound barrier though, only my arm."
• K3 Hustler: "testing that pressurized flight suit and helmet -- which restrict mobility and together weigh 100 pounds -- was one goal of the mission, as it could save an astronaut's life if a manned spacecraft malfunctioned. The outfit had sensors and recorders to measure everything from his speed to his heart rate."
