With sources reporting that the NHL has canceled its annual Winter Classic, the prospects for playing any part of a 2012-13 season appear to be in serious jeopardy. The outdoor game, the league's biggest annual attraction outside of the playoffs, was scheduled to feature a pair of Original Six franchises -- the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings -- at Michigan Stadium. With the locked-out players and owners unable to reach a deal to save the event, is there any hope the season can be rescued?
