On Tuesday, ESPN's "First Take" debated whether Rex Ryan's refusal to bench QB Mark Sanchez is costing the coach his job. The Jets are 3-6 and rapidly falling out of the playoff picture, and Sanchez hasn't helped much, completing only 52 percent of his passes. ESPN's Skip Bayless thinks Ryan's stubborn pride is costing him his job; Bayless (as usual) is all about giving Tim Tebow a shot. ESPN's Eric Mangini doesn't blame Ryan for his choice because Mangini doesn't think Tebow is a legitimate alternative to Sanchez as a starting quarterback. Meanwhile, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith thinks Sanchez's lack of development is on the coaching staff and may be more indicative of Ryan's ineffectiveness than simply his decision to keep Sanchez in the starting spot.
