Jose Reyes said that Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria told him to buy a house in South Florida mere days before trading him -- a charge Loria denies. The Marlins owner is under fire for the sale that essentially gutted his team, but to hear him tell it, dismantling the Marlins was the right move. Loria might have a point -- the team was 69-93 in 2012, after all -- but young teams need time to grow. Save for Giancarlo Stanton, the team's remaining star, the 2012 Marlins got no time at all.
NL East winners?
Loria's Marlins may have underachieved in 2012, but they're not in a much better position to compete for the NL East title in 2013.
