Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton has been struggling mightily at the plate. That's not exactly a news flash. But as ESPN.com's David Schoenfield writes, the Angels knew they were getting a slugger prone to lengthy slumps when they paid him $125 million as a free agent. So why did skipper Mike Scioscia move Hamilton from fourth to fifth in the Angels' lineup on Monday night? Was it the right move or a panic move that smacked of disrespect?
Luckily for Scioscia, Hamilton went 4-for-4, legging out two infield singles, and improved his average to .222 in a 7-6 loss to the Rangers. Is Hamilton breaking out of his slump, or is it too early to tell?
