Kevin Durant played basketball in Seattle over the weekend. For fans of the old SuperSonics, that has to be a bittersweet sentence to read -- Durant was briefly their hometown hero before their team was snatched away and re-formed as the Thunder. Durant tweeted his love for the city after dropping 63 points in Jamal Crawford's Summer Pro-Am:

Attempts to revive an NBA franchise in Seattle have gone nowhere so far, although the city's fans have been clamoring for the return of basketball. The Seahawks may be excellent, the Sounders surprisingly popular and the Mariners worth watching when Felix Hernandez pitches, but Seattle without the Sonics is like Seattle without rain.
