Johnny Manziel broke Archie Manning's 43-year-old record for total offense in just his fifth collegiate game. Two games later Manziel broke his own record, becoming the first player in SEC history with two games of 500-plus yards of total offense in a season. He then went on to break the conference's single season offensive production record, ending his freshman campaign with 5,116 total yards, the Davey O'Brien Award and of course the Heisman Trophy. But after all his success in 2012, Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, not Johnny Football, was named to the preseason all-conference first team.
