Mets' Harvey has elbow injury
They weren't winning a lot, but things were looking up a bit for the New York Mets -- in no small part thanks to Matt Harvey, the NL All-Star starter with a 2.27 ERA in 178.1 innings this season. However, Harvey was found to have a partially torn UCL in his pitching elbow, meaning Tommy John surgery might be in his future. But the second-year pitcher appears to have other plans, tweeting that he expects to be back on the mound for April 1. Though surgery is far from a career death sentence, it is a blow to a long-suffering franchise.
