Refs give 49ers a second chance
The 49ers-Packers matchup on Sunday was exciting and competitive -- and possibly marred by a less than exemplary call. Referees awarded the 49ers an extra down in the second quarter after offsetting penalties on a third-and-6 play. Since the penalties came after the play was over, the 49ers should have had a fourth-and-2; instead, they ended up scoring a touchdown. The Packers are used to being the victims of bad calls as of late, but how much did the gaffe really matter?
