Given the nature of Kevin Ware's injury earlier this year, it's a surprise to see him playing so soon after. Ware's compound fracture of his right leg in March brought on comparisons to Joe Theismann and visibly upset other players on the court. His recovery seems more or less complete, however, as he scored six points in Louisville's exhibition game against Pikeville on Wednesday. Ware's return is good news all around, not the least for Cardinals fans, who are hoping for another championship this season.

Ware's prognosis

Ware was an important cog in Louisville's machine before his injury, and a successful comeback would only strengthen the Cardinals.

Title contenders?

Ware and the rest of the Cardinals won't face an easy road to a repeat championship, especially with a revamped Kentucky team on their schedule.
