The Texans' experiment with Ed Reed appears to be at an end, as the team is set to cut him Tuesday. Reed has been something of a cipher for Houston this year, recording only 16 tackles in seven games and suffering a demotion from his starting position in the team's loss to the Colts. Reed described the team's playing and coaching as inconsistent in a recent interview, which may have played a part in the team's decision to part ways with him before the end of the season.
Out of Texas
The Texans weren't winning with Ed Reed, but that doesn't mean he's necessarily the cause of their woes this season.
Reed was one of the best safeties in the game during his time in Baltimore, and is likely a future Hall of Famer, but his stats this year were not up to his usual standards.
