Welcome to the National Letter of Intent Signing Day chat! (That's a mouthful!)

Buzzmaster
  (12:09 PM)

Here's some more scheduling information. After Middleton HS, we'll go to Coach Carter at McClymonds High in California, with his seniors Joshua Tatum (USC), Naderris Ward (Georgia) and Derrick Hill (California). That's a 12:30 p.m. ET.

Buzzmaster
  (12:10 PM)

At 12:45 p.m. ET, we'll visit with Joe Torchia (Virginia), Darius Bagan (BC or Miami, he'll tell us!) and John Palumbo (Temple).

Maj (gainesville, fl)

AJ, how much of an impact do OTHER recruiting signings at UF or other schools actually have in yalls decisions?

A.J. Jones
  (12:20 PM)

They had a big impact, to tell you the truth. There were about six other signings there. They just tried to get a good comaraderie going.

Matt (Iowa)

Dominic what do you think Missouri needs to do to become a contender in the Big 12 North?

Dominic Grooms
  (12:21 PM)

First, what I think is they're doing a good job with the recruits. Second, on defense, they need to get faster. So far, we're doing pretty good.

Jason H, Parkersburg WV

Marcus, we are extremely excited about you deciding to become a mountaineer! How do you feel about the current direction of WVU. Good Luck with the rest of your schooling, and we look forward to seeing you in the GOLD and BLUE!

Marcus Broxie
  (12:22 PM)

We've won the Big East three straight years. I'm so excited to maybe make an impact as a freshman. I'm just excited.

Sean ( Madisonville, TN )

Congrats A.J.!!! What did you like the most about the Gators?

Marcus Broxie
  (12:22 PM)

Thank you. The coaches and the atmosphere. It's a great place to be. The people around it. The whole community. The coaches had a good comfort status.

Sean ( Madisonville, TN )

Congrats! How much of an impression did Urban Meyer have on you?

A.J. Jones
  (12:24 PM)

He had a real good impression on me. Out of all the head coaches, he had the contact with me the most. He called me or text messaged me almost every day. Plus, he's a great person. He's got the program in the right direction. Academics come first with him.

Michael Victorious (New York)

What is the biggest factor in deciding which school to attend?

Dominic Grooms
  (12:25 PM)

The biggest factor was where I was comfortable. I wanted to get a good education and Missouri brought a lot to the table. Playing in the Big 12.

Chris (Sioux Falls, SD)

The wait is over, how does it feel guys?

Marcus Broxie
  (12:26 PM)

I can't really explain the feeling. It just feels so good. It's a relief that it's all over and have it be done. Now I can enjoy myself and enjoy my senior year. I have the opportunity to come back and play USF every year.

Steve (Haymarket, VA)

AJ? Its not to late to change your mind and attend LSU instead... :) Good luck with Florida

Jeff (Gainesville, FL)

AJ, what are your predictions for the Gators for the upcoming season?

A.J. Jones
  (12:27 PM)

National championship. They showed good things last year. They bring back a lot of good people.

Adam (Rochester, MN)

Marcus, congratulations on making the right decision! What are your first impressions of Rich Rod?

Marcus Broxie
  (12:28 PM)

My first impressions were he knows what he was doing. He's a great coach all around and a great person. He'll call, give you his cell phone number.

Buzzmaster
  (12:28 PM)

Thanks to those guys for stopping by!

Buzzmaster
  (12:29 PM)

Keep sending in those questions! Next up, we've got Joshua Tatum, who's going to USC, Naderris Ward (Georgia) and Derrick Hill (California), all of McClymonds High!

Alex Medina (Los Angeles)

Derrick, congrats on becoming a Bear! What were the factors that led you to Cal? How much of that decision was due to Jeff Tedford?

Derrick Hill
  (12:35 PM)

When it was all said and done, I had family around. I have younger family around and going to be prospects too. I wanted to stay here and be a father figure to them. Another thing was, everything I was looking for was sitting in my backyard.

Patrick (Euclid, Oh)

Josh, with signing with USC, one if not the top program in the country, did any other programs and their offers become options?

Joshua Tatum
  (12:36 PM)

I would have to say so. I kept my options open throughout the process. It came down to USC and Miami. USC was where I felt most at home with.

Chad (LA)

Welcome to the Trojan Family Josh. What separated USC from the other school's that competed for your services?

Joshua Tatum
  (12:37 PM)

Thanks. I think the coaching staff had a major part of me committing. Coach Ken Norton, one of the best in the game, that was a great opportunity. I'm happy to be a Trojan.

Bill (Atlanta, GA)

Naderris Ward, Welcome to the DawgNation. What stood out to you most about the Dawgs?

Naderris Ward
  (12:38 PM)

The tradition was one of the things. It's location. The coaching staff and the players that were with me during my visit.

matt (napa, CA)

how do u think CAL'S class is coming along

Derrick Hill
  (12:39 PM)

There have been a couple of big names in the recruiting. That was one thing about Cal, it really didn't matter about the rankings. I threw the rankings out the window and just like the talent that we brought in.

Tay Sneddon (San Diego)

Fight ON Josh, where do you see yourself playing at USC? Do you think you'll have an immediate impact? Congrats man!

Joshua Tatum
  (12:40 PM)

I see myself as a linebacker. I'm coming off a torn ACL surgery. It takes 6 months to fully heal. Immediate? No. I'll take my time with rehab.

Ryan (Atlanta, Ga)

Leonard Pope's vacancy at TE has created an opportunistic situation for you at UGA, Naderris. Are you excited about the possibilites?

Naderris Ward
  (12:41 PM)

Yes, definitely. That was one of the things I looked at. The tradition of the TE position is solid. With him leaving, I knew it would open the door right away. It opened my eyes up a little more.

Russ (Dyersville)

Is being on NCAA 2006 one of the coolest things about being a big-time recruit?

Derrick Hill
  (12:42 PM)

You got the opportunity to be yourself. And you can make yourself the best player. I've been doing that since I've been playing football.

Matt (NC)

Who are you going for in the super bowl?

Joshua Tatum
  (12:43 PM)

Man, I'm thinking Pittsburgh. I'm going with Troy Polamalu. Lofa Tatupu is on Seattle, so I'm not going to hate on them. But I'm going with Pittsburgh.

Buzzmaster
  (12:43 PM)

Thanks McClymonds High recruits!!

Buzzmaster
  (12:44 PM)

Keep sending in those questions! Next up, we've got Joe Torchia (Virginia), Darius Bagan (BC or Miami, he'll tell us!) and John Palumbo (Temple) all of Queen of Peace High!

Buzzmaster
  (12:54 PM)

The guys will be here in a couple of minutes. They're walking back from their press conference!

Joshua (Plymouth, NH)

So, Darius, the Eagles or the 'Canes? Snow or Sand?

Darius Bagan
  (1:01 PM)

My final decision came from my final visit. I was in love with BC.

Tom (Washington, DC)

Hey Joe, congrats on becoming a CAV. You think you can keep up the tradition of UVA tight ends that H. Miller created?

Joe Torchia
  (1:02 PM)

Heath Miller set the standards for TE. It's something I'm going to have to work for. I'm going to work hard and work up to that status.

greg (Philadelphia)

John, What made Temple stand out for you?

John Palumbo
  (1:02 PM)

I love the coaching staff. It seemed to be a good fit. It's close to home. I really clicked with them. It's the best place for me.

Daniel Murrell (Indianapolis, IN)

Hey Darius Bagan ever consider going to Florida State, and why did you choose to play in the ACC.

Darius Bagan
  (1:03 PM)

The ACC is a premier conference. As far as FSU, I really never thought about it as a possibility. I never really got in contact with them.

eric (SD)

Joe, did the coaching turnover at Vrginia have any effect on your decision at all?

Joe Torchia
  (1:04 PM)

No. I have full confidence in coach's staff and the people he brings in. He's well respected in the coaching world.

NB (Boston, MA)

How does BC's class look?

Joe Torchia
  (1:04 PM)

We're very excited. The coaches told me we have a great recruiting class this year. We've got some great defensive players coming in.

Russ (Dyersville)

Is being on NCAA 2006 one of the coolest things about being a big-time recruit?

John Palumbo
  (1:05 PM)

It gets really exciting. Everyone growing up is always creating themselves on video games.

tim.b (rochester,ny)

why virginia over the other schools that you visited (Joe Torchia's response: Academics was high on my list. The combination of that and the program made it a good fit.

Petey (Miami)

Darius, how seriously did you consider Miami?

Darius Bagan
  (1:07 PM)

They were a very high possibility for me. It came down to BC and Miami. I seriously considered Miami, but I thought BC was a better fit.

Buzzmaster
  (1:11 PM)

Next up, we have Jason Pinkston and Justin Hargrove, both of whom will be attending Pitt.

Buzzmaster
  (1:11 PM)

They both come from Baldwin HS in Pennsylvania, which is coach Dave Wannstedts alma mater.

BK (Loras)

What was it like being recruited by a guy that went to your same high school?

Jason Pinkston
  (1:17 PM)

It was pretty cool I knew a lot about him. We had a good relationship. He could come in whenver and I got to sit down with him and talk.

Justin Hargrove
  (1:18 PM)

It was real nice. He reminisced about Baldwin and the drills he did.

Nick (Columbus, OH)

Justin, at 245 lbs. do u plan to play DE or LB?

Justin Hargrove
  (1:18 PM)

DE. That's what they told me.

Tom (Harrisburg)

Welcome aboard! Do you think you are keys to turning the program around?

Jason Pinkston
  (1:19 PM)

Yeah, I think with the recruiting class we have and all the players we have coming in we'll get back to the top.

Brock (IA)

Jason/Justin how do you see the Pitt. program in the next 3 or 4 years?

Justin Hargrove
  (1:19 PM)

I see Pitt pretty much at the top. The recruit class that we're getting is going to take us there.

Juan (san jose.ca)

What is the biggest factor in deciding which school to attend?

Justin Hargrove
  (1:20 PM)

I would say academics. I want to do something medical. They have good facilities. The comfort level with the coaches also.

Jason Pinkston
  (1:20 PM)

A good coaching staff. The relationships with the players. The academics.

Jim(DC)

Jason/Justin-Are you expecting early playing time at Pitt?

Justin Hargrove
  (1:21 PM)

If I get early playing time, that would be great. I'll go along with whatever helps the team.

Jason Pinkston
  (1:21 PM)

It would be nice to play early. If not, being in the rotation would be nice. It's going to be a big change going to college.

Matt (Lake Ariel, PA)

How are you liking Pitt's recruiting class? Will there be an upgrade in 2006?

Justin Hargrove
  (1:22 PM)

On my official visit I was with some other guys. They were really cool. I liked them a lot.

Carlos (Seattle,WA)

Why go to Pitt and not Penn State?

Jason Pinkston
  (1:23 PM)

I was recruited by PSU. I thought Pitt was a better place for me. I wasn't sure about the coaching staff at PSU would stay the same. Coach Wannstedt at Pitt helped.

Ben (The LC)

Do you think the defense can step up and the Pitt offense can retool and come back better than before?

Justin Hargrove
  (1:24 PM)

I believe they can, with the freshman class we have can help with the defense and offense.

Stan(oklahoma city)

The wait is over, how does it feel guys?

Jason Pinkston
  (1:24 PM)

It's pretty good. You have a bunch of coaches calling, now you pick a college and you're set with it

Justin Hargrove
  (1:25 PM)

It feels great. I've always wanted to be a Pitt Panther. It feels great to be a Panther.

Gianny (Louisville)

How much of a role was Pitt's history in your decision? Do you think you can bring the Panthers a 10th national title?

Justin Hargrove
  (1:25 PM)

The history was a big role, coming from Pittsburgh. I think we can bring them a title.

Jason Pinkston
  (1:26 PM)

It was pretty big. We got to watch some of the games from a while ago. I think we can bring a national title home.

Buzzmaster
  (1:27 PM)

Thanks to the future of Pitt for joining us.

Buzzmaster
  (1:28 PM)

Next, we've got Maurice Evans, a DE from Christ The King HS, who's going to Penn State.

Russell (Rohlman)

Buzz, who's next?

Buzzmaster
  (1:29 PM)

Well, we've got Evans, then Aleric Mullins, who will be joining us sometime around 2 p.m. ET after he gets off the set of ESPNU.

Buzzmaster
  (1:35 PM)

We're putting in a call to Evans now, who's ranked as the No. 1 DL. Then we'll get Mullins, who's going to UNC

Buzzmaster
  (1:38 PM)

Well, Maurice is held up. So we'll move on to Aleric now.

Buzzmaster
  (1:38 PM)

Send in those questions!

RG (Dubuque)

Why the commitment to UNC?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:39 PM)

The decision was so close that I had to sit down and weigh the pros and cons. All three schools were great, Auburn, Tennessee and UNC.

Austin

What is the biggest factor in deciding which school to attend?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:40 PM)

The biggest comes down to the people. It comes down to who you'll spend the most time with, the coaches and the players.

MARK JENKINS (CULPEPER, VA)

DID YOU CONSIDER UVA? OR DID THEY AT LEAST RECRUIT YOU?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:41 PM)

They didn't recruit me.

R. Anthony (The LC)

Do you see yourself as another Julius Peppers?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:41 PM)

To compare yourself to Julius, there's a lot of work ahead. Right now, I can't say that.

Xavier (Denver)

Did you think you will start as a freshman.

Aleric Mullins
  (1:42 PM)

Starting. It's kind of early. They have two seniors right now. I'll probably get 20-25 snaps a game. That should be good.

Nation Hahn (Chapel Hill, NC)

Welcome to UNC! I am looking forward to watching you play for the Heels the next several years. I am a student here and very excited about the program. Do you anticipate having an immediate impact or will you try to redshirt? And how much of an impact was Marvin Sanders on your decision? GO HEELS!

Aleric Mullins
  (1:43 PM)

I look for an immediate impact right now. I look forward to that.

Ross (Tallahassee)

How excited are you about playing in the ACC

Aleric Mullins
  (1:43 PM)

Very excited. There's great competition. It's one of the best conferences.

B. Kurt (D'ville)

Did you get to attend any Tar Heel basketball games while they were recruiting you?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:44 PM)

I attended the game with NC State.

Patrick (Atlanta)

UNC is obviously a program struggling to compete in a big conference, do you see them rising to the top in the near future?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:45 PM)

Most definitely. The class we have is very solid. We're going to add depth to the team. We're going to bring this program around. That's why I came to UNC.

Patrick (Atlanta)

What do you see as your biggest strength?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:45 PM)

Quickness off the ball is my biggest strength.

David (New York)

Is being on EA Sports NCAA 2006 video game one of the coolest things about being a college football recruit?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:46 PM)

Most definitely. Now you can be yourself on the video game. That's real good.

Jeremy (canada)

whos gonna win the superbowl?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:46 PM)

Steelers. Because of their defense.

Conner (Dallas)

How long did it take you to commit?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:47 PM)

Probably six hours. After getting all the offers.

Mike (VA)

Did any of the other Tarheels commits try to help in the recruiting process?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:47 PM)

Oh yeah. I played with a lot of them at the all-star games. They were all talking Tar Heels.

Andrew Heon (Charlotte NC)

Do you see Carolina winning the ACC throughout the duration of your stay at UNC?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:48 PM)

Definitely. What we've got coming in in my class, I definitely see that happening.

Tom(Raleigh)

were you always going to take an official to UNC? it seemed like you were debating that for awhile? how did you come to that decision

Aleric Mullins
  (1:48 PM)

No, I always was going to take that trip, regardless.

B. M. Kurt (The Hood of 'Ville)

Are you excited to get into Chapel Hill and get to work?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:49 PM)

Yes, very excited. I can't wait to begin. I report June 20.

R. A. Gotto (The Dub)

Did NC State recruit you as well?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:49 PM)

A little bit. Little bit.

Stefan (Chapel Hill, NC)

Aleric, what did you first love about the Chapel Hill campus?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:50 PM)

The campus. The whole thing. It really got me.

Joe ( Charlotte NC)

Did any UNC football alumni contact you during your recruiting process?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:50 PM)

No not at all.

Rafael (MSU)

Did the basketball team have anything to do with you choice?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:51 PM)

No, but there will be something good to do in the offseason to go and watch them play.

Amos ((ChicagoIL))

Did the ACC conference weigh in on your decision at all, compared to, say, the SEC?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:51 PM)

It kind of did, being one of the best conferences. It really did.

Kurt (D-town)

Who are you most looking forward to lining up against?

Aleric Mullins
  (1:52 PM)

No at this point. Just going to put my hands down and play.

keith(pa)

are you excited to go to the same school MJ went to??

Aleric Mullins
  (1:52 PM)

Very excited.

Buzzmaster
  (1:53 PM)

Thanks to Aleric!

Buzzmaster
  (1:53 PM)

They had him on ESPNU and showed some of his highlights. Man, he brings a LOAD! That's a big man.

Buzzmaster

Craig's here. Ask away!

Buzzmaster
  (2:05 PM)

Coach is trying to track down Maurice right now.

Buzzmaster
  (2:08 PM)

And, in response to Patrick's question. No, there's no hold up in Maurice's signing. We just had a hold up in getting a hold of him.

Maurice Evans
  (2:09 PM)

Maurice Evans is here!

Rob (NJ)

Maurice what impressed you most about PSU ,was Larry Johnson Sr a big factor?

Maurice Evans
  (2:10 PM)

The thing that interested me the most was they told me the truth. From what I hear, Larry Johnson is a great DL coach.

Bill, State College

Maurice, Thanks for coming to PSU! What are your expectations about playing time next year or do you expect to redshirt?

Maurice Evans
  (2:10 PM)

I'm trying to come in and play my freshman year. I don't see myself redshirting and neither do the coaches.

John (DC)

Maurice, did you get a chance to meet with Tamba Hali on your visits to Happy Valley, how would you compare your style to his?

Maurice Evans
  (2:11 PM)

I had a chance to meet Tamba. I don't know an answer to the second part. That's a tough one. I guess you could say we're sort of similar.

Ryan (Shamokin, PA)

Hey Maurice, with the loss of Tamba Hali, Scott Paxson and Matthew Rice, do you feel that you could come right in and make a big impact?

Maurice Evans
  (2:12 PM)

Yeah, I think so. I think I could come in and make a big impact. If I come in and keep working hard, I'll do whatever they want me to do.

Paul (CT)

Maurice, Did Joe Pa personally recruit you? Look forward to seeing you in Happy Valley.

Maurice Evans
  (2:13 PM)

No, he didn't personnally recruit me. I had some contact with him.

Jeremy (Canada)

What made you choice Penn state over virginia?

Maurice Evans
  (2:13 PM)

I felt more comfortable with the staff at PSU. I felt more comfortable at the school.

Nick (Columbus, OH)

Congrads on joining the Big Ten, how do u feel about playing in stadiums like Ohio State Horse Shoe, Michigans Big House and in Happy Valley which seat over 100,000 fans

Maurice Evans
  (2:14 PM)

It's exciting. I've never played before that many people It's going to be fun.

Dan T(Brick)

what number are you going to wear??

Maurice Evans
  (2:14 PM)

45.

Lou (HappyValley)

whats your major at PSU?

Maurice Evans
  (2:14 PM)

I want to study criminal justice, but I'm not definite on that.

Patrick (Atlanta)

What game(s) did you watch of the past season?

Maurice Evans
  (2:15 PM)

I didn't attend any. I was going to go to the OSU game, but I had to take the SATs.

Bengi (Dyersville, IA)

Are you excited to see yourself on NCAA Football 07?

Maurice Evans
  (2:16 PM)

Oh yeah. It's going to be fun.

Chris (Columbus)

Whats your relationship like with fellow commit A.J. Wallace?

Maurice Evans
  (2:16 PM)

At the All-America game, we became good friends. I haven't talked to him much besides that.

Ksal(PA)

Are you excited that Paul P is coming back??

Maurice Evans
  (2:17 PM)

I'm excited, because we have a great defensive player and leader. That's going to be good for us next year.

Ace (DC)

How big a role does the fan base play in your decision to come to PSU?

Maurice Evans
  (2:18 PM)

From what I've heard, the fans go crazy in and out of season. The fan base plays a good role.

Patrick (Atlanta)

What did JoePa say to you about how long he'd remain at Penn State?

Maurice Evans
  (2:18 PM)

They didn't tell me anything. From what they've said, he's going to be there for a while.

Bryan (PA)

Maurice, did you have any personal conection with PSU before the recruiting process began?

Maurice Evans
  (2:20 PM)

No, I didn't. I didn't have connection before this all took place. But I played against a guy that was two years ahead of me that is on the team.

Todd (Mobile )

How does it feel to play under a coach with such a history?

Maurice Evans
  (2:21 PM)

It's good. I'm happy to be playing for a coach like him. It's a good experience.

Buzzmaster
  (2:21 PM)

Thanks to Maurice.

Buzzmaster
  (2:21 PM)

It took a while SportsNation, but we delivered!

Buzzmaster
  (2:22 PM)

Next we have Terrance Austin, who's going to UCLA.

Buzzmaster
  (2:23 PM)

Then after him, we'll have Adam Patterson, a DE who's going to Michigan. He'll be joining us around 3 p.m. ET after he comes off the set at ESPNU.

Buzzmaster
  (2:29 PM)

Giving a call to Terrance right now.

Joe (PA)

Terrance. Congratulations on going to UCLA. What was your deciding factor for choosing this universtiy?

Terrance Austin
  (2:31 PM)

Thanks. My factor was I wanted to go somewhere I was comfortable. I was really wanted at UCLA. A lot of schools recruited me. The coaches wanted me there at UCLA.

Chris (Fairfax)

Congrats on the signing Terrance! What other schools were in the running for you?

Terrance Austin
  (2:32 PM)

It was funny because Notre Dame was in the running and Oregon. I really liked Arizona too.

shant (California)

whats your role going to be Terrance?

Terrance Austin
  (2:32 PM)

Yeah, they told me that they're looking for someone to stretch the field. Run screen plays. Someone they can use for big plays. They also said they wanted me to return kicks and punts.

Xavier (Denver)

So Terrance why did you decide on UCLA? Was Texas recruiting you at all?

Terrance Austin
  (2:33 PM)

Texas, I don't think they called me. When I went down to San Antonio, they were watching me. But I think they knew that I had my mind made up.

Todd (Mobile)

Do you expect to make an impact right away?

Terrance Austin
  (2:34 PM)

I can say right now that I want to. I expect good things from myself. I'm confident in my play. I'm going to study hard.

Joshua (Chicago)

Do you think you will be able to help us (UCLA) finally end the losing streak against USC

Terrance Austin
  (2:35 PM)

I think I could. They need somebody that they can use at WR that can make a difference. I have confidence in UCLA. I think I can help them do that.

Alan (VA)

Terrance, did Drew Olsen's huge year have any influence on your decision?

Terrance Austin
  (2:36 PM)

I definitely thought that they were going to find somebody to throw to next year. Plus I can't go wrong in being there either.

Mike (Beverly Hills, CA)

What are you majoring in?

Terrance Austin
  (2:37 PM)

I haven't picked a major yet. Right now I am thinking about business management. I'm also interested in architecture.

Keith (Grafton)

What player college or pro do you compare yourself to?

Terrance Austin
  (2:37 PM)

I guess I compare myself to Santana Moss and Steve Smith. They're small receivers, not big guys. But they're breaking the big receiver mold. They influence me a lot.

Alex (LOs Angeles)

Are you excited for the USC - Ucla rivalry

Terrance Austin
  (2:38 PM)

Definitely. As a kid, I grew up an SC fan. When I entered the recruiting process, things shifted for me. Now I'm a Bruin, I'm developing the rivalry.

Todd (Mobile)

Will you be participating in spring?

Terrance Austin
  (2:39 PM)

No, I tried to graduate early this year. But it's going to be hard to do this year. I definitely won't be able to participate.

Buzzmaster
  (2:39 PM)

Thanks to Terrance. He's pumped to be a Bruin.

Buzzmaster
  (2:40 PM)

The next recruit guest we'll have is Adam Patterson, who's a DE going to Michigan. Look for him on ESPNU right before coming here.

Buzzmaster
  (2:41 PM)

Actually, he's on right now. He's a big dude.

Buzzmaster
  (2:46 PM)

OK fans, here's the schedule. Craig Haubert is in studio with Adam right now. We're going to get Adam, then hopefully Craig will have a few minutes to chat with us when Adam's finished.

Durk (Kansas City, MO)

Hey Adam, I know there is a lot to like about the Wolverines, but what do you like about Michigan the most?

Adam Patterson
  (2:50 PM)

It's a small town, it's not too big. There's a lot of smiling faces. They're all willing to help

Kenny (Levittown, PA)

Adam, do you think Michigan with players like Henne, Grady, Breaston, and you that michigan will finally make a run at a national title?

Adam Patterson
  (2:51 PM)

I think there's a great possiblity. If you have enough good players, anything is possible.

Andy (Glen Allen, Va)

Did Notre Dame every try to recruit you? If so, how hard were they going after you?(They need a big time DE like yourself? Finally, what sold you on Michigan?

Adam Patterson
  (2:52 PM)

Notre Dame did try to recruit me. I wouldn't say it was very hard, I didn't get many phone calls, but a lot of mail. I was even considering them at one point.

Dave (CA)

Hey Adam. Are you excited about the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry?

Adam Patterson
  (2:53 PM)

Very excited. I can't wait to be exposed to it. I hear that it's one of the classic rivalries in the country right now. I can't wait to get in it.

Sean Houston (Gainesville, FL)

What made you choose Michigan, Adam? Did Lloyd Carr really impress you?

Adam Patterson
  (2:53 PM)

I feel like he's a great coach. He's a very traditional coach. He's a good coach. He'll tell it to you like it is. He won't lie to you. He'll tell you what he feels and what the possibilities are for you.

Jason (LV)

Adam, what stood out about Michigan, that made you leave SEC country for the Big 10

Adam Patterson
  (2:54 PM)

I just really wanted to have a chance to get out there on my own. I wanted to play football up north. South Carolina was among my choices. It will always be in my heart.

Kenny (Levittown, PA)

Michigan came late in the game Adam, what made them jump up so high so late to make you sign?

Adam Patterson
  (2:55 PM)

It was pretty much when I had a chance to get up there and see what they had to offer. My dad actually had to drag me up there. I got in it good with the coaches and players. I really liked the academic part and the facilities.

Tron (Allendale, MI)

Adam, how do you see yourself fitting in on the line in your Freshman year?

Adam Patterson
  (2:56 PM)

I see myself contributing a lot with some of my speed and power. I can show what I can do and showcase my skills. I feel like I could really fit into their style. No talk of redshirting either.

Ken (Ann Arbor, MI)

Adam, i'm siked that you decided to come play in the Big House, but are you worried at all about how Michigan has sort of slipped from dominance?

Adam Patterson
  (2:57 PM)

I'm not worried at all. Michigan will once again be able to rise to the top and take back the throne.

Kyle (York PA)

Are you looking forward to the rivalries in the Big Ten?? Those PSU and OSU matchups will be tough!!

Adam Patterson
  (2:58 PM)

Yes, I'm looking forward to all of them. Every game will be a big challenge. I'm just looking forward to all the schools. All the games will be great.

Sean (TN)

What made you choose Michigan over some over your other schools, for example Tennessee

Adam Patterson
  (2:59 PM)

Yes, Tennesse, South Carolina, Florida, Auburn, NC State, Georgia, UNC, Clemson. They all showed interest. Michigan is out of the way. It's up there. I could see how it is up north. Good academics and tradition.

kevin (oh)

How long do you believe it will be untill Michigan can catch back up to OSU and PSU?

Adam Patterson
  (3:00 PM)

I really think it's a matter of time. Once we get the right players in and come together it will only be a matter of time.

Greg (Ann Arbor, MI)

First off I want to say congrats on being a Wolverine. You'll love it in Ann Arbor. Are you nervous about having to play in front of a crowd of 100,00+?

Adam Patterson
  (3:01 PM)

I feel like I might be nervous a little bit, but after that first hit, I'll warm up to it. After a while it will become like nothing to me.

Buzzmaster
  (3:01 PM)

Our thanks to Adam.

Buzzmaster
  (3:01 PM)

He was looking pretty sharp in his suit on ESPNU's set.

Buzzmaster
  (3:02 PM)

The next recruit we've got is Tobi Umodu and Kyle Peterson of South Hills High in California.

Buzzmaster
  (3:03 PM)

Umodu, a DE, will be going to UCLA and Peterson, a P, will be off to UTEP.

Buzzmaster
  (3:03 PM)

They should be in around 3:45 p.m. ET. After them, Ohio State-bound safety Grant Schwartz will be here around 4 p.m. ET.

Bernie (NJ)

OK, what is the real deal with Vidal Hazelton? So many rumors are going around.

Craig Haubert
  (3:07 PM)

This is exactly what they are. They're rumors. Vidal's a Trojan. He's going to stay. We're waiting on USC to send in their official list later tonight.

Ben (Ann Arbor)

Craig, we just talked with Adam Patterson, what can you tell us about the rest of the Michigan recruiting class? Specifically, Quintin Woods...

Craig Haubert
  (3:09 PM)

Patterson is a great addition to their defense. He's just one of their guys. LB Brandon Graham is a well put together physcial player. A shocker today was with Michigan's gain of Mouton as a safety. He's a big, physcial player. Offensively, they've got two in OL Justin Boren and Steve Schilling.

Ron (Fairfax)

who is cleaning up in the ACC?

Craig Haubert
  (3:11 PM)

Let's talk Florida State. Coach Bowden is a closer. They didn't get LB Morgan. But they did just get Marcus Sims as an RB, as seen on ESPNU live. They got Marcus Ball, Ricardo Wright who decommitted from Alabama. So despite losing out on a couple of good players, they've done well. The other Bowden had a nice outing at Clemson.

Craig Haubert
  (3:12 PM)

It's been known for a while that they've helped themselves with Maxwell. You've got to tip your hat to Wake RB Josh Adams.

Ty (Kansas)

Which running back has the most "Reggie Bush-like" potential?

Craig Haubert
  (3:13 PM)

Yes, indeed. DeMarco Murray, who's going to Oklahoma. He's an outstanding athlete with great ability. On our live coverage on ESPNU, we compared tape with him and Bush. Both films were equally impressive.

Charles, CT

any shocking decisions today?

Craig Haubert
  (3:15 PM)

Aleric Mullins, who was just on The Show and ESPNU, kind of looked like a race between Auburn and Tennessee, but he decided to stay instate and UNC. CJ Spiller looked like he might be going to FSU, but went to Clemson instead.

Matt (Palm Bay, FL)

Will Percy Harvin be an instant impact player for UF next year with all of its wide recievers?

Craig Haubert
  (3:16 PM)

Percy is the No. 1 WR in the country because he is loaded with talent. He is the most explosive WR in the class. Every time he touches the ball, he has the ability to make a play and is a serious vertical threat. It's not always ideal for a true WR to come in and play, he has the ability to do that.

Craig Haubert
  (3:17 PM)

Florida lost two good receievers in McDaniel and Williams. If they were going to keep anyone, Harvy was the one.

Billy (Michigan)

Do you know anything about Philip Champion from Farmington High, in Michigan?

Craig Haubert
  (3:18 PM)

No, we haven't heard anything.

Amos (ChicagoIL)

Which lesser known schools really made an impact this year?

Craig Haubert
  (3:19 PM)

not really lesser known, but not have the high expectations was Ole Miss. They're an SEC school, but they haven't put together good classes like they have this year. Some other schools have done a nice job. Vanderbilt, with ESPN 150 TE Jonathan Massey.

DEWAYNE (LITTLE ROCK, AR)

Craig, how do you feel about Arkansas's class?

Craig Haubert
  (3:21 PM)

I think back in December, you had to feel like the wheels were falling off the bus, but over this last week, things have really picked up for Arkansas. Earlier in the month, they kept QB Mitch Mustain, but over the last 48 hours have added some weapons with a couple of decommits from other schools. These guys are extremely good football players. They are the big names of a very solid skilled players for Arkansas.

Stan (Harrisburg, Pa)

Do you see any of ND's recruits coming in and making an immediate impact?

Craig Haubert
  (3:22 PM)

Yeah, I do. James Aldrich could be one. Rayshawn McNeil. Corner is a tough position to make a transition from high school and college. He showed he could compete in San Antonio.

Craig Haubert
  (3:23 PM)

They've got several players with the ability to play as freshmen. But I think Coach realizes the best thing is to redshirt a kid and get settled then allows them to better reach their potential.

Jonathan (Texas)

has texas signed any of there recruits yet?

Craig Haubert
  (3:23 PM)

Texas has not sent in their class yet. We're waiting for their official announcement. We're not expecting any changes from what they were coming into today with.

Mitch (Harrisburg)

Why do you think Penn State has had so much success recruiting in Maryland?

Craig Haubert
  (3:25 PM)

a lot of that has to do with Coach Johnson. He's done a phenomenal job in that state.

carlos (CA)

How do you rate Miami'a class?

Craig Haubert
  (3:26 PM)

As far as a number, they have a top 25 class. From what's transpired over the last months, it hasn't been a great finish down the stretch. The class they put together before the struggles, it's not as deep as past classes.

Luke Iowa City

How do you feel Iowa faired against the rest of the Big 10?

Craig Haubert
  (3:28 PM)

I think right now you have to look at Michigan and OSU, Wisconsin, and PSU, not in any particular order as being the top teams. But Iowa has done a nice job of gettting themselves in the mix, landing Hunter was a big pickup. He's a nice addition to the LB core. Iowa has not made the national waves of a year ago, but still has a nice class.

Buzzmaster
  (3:29 PM)

It's a busy day for Craig, so thanks for stopping by.

Buzzmaster
  (3:30 PM)

He had to run. They're trying to track down all the schools official signing lists.

Buzzmaster
  (3:32 PM)

Next up, we've got DE Tobi Umodu, off to UCLA, and P Kyle Peterson, off to UTEP. They're from South Hills High in California and are coached by James Escarcega.

Andrew (Laramie)

Where is DeMarco Murray, the #1 RB, going to play at?

Buzzmaster
  (3:33 PM)

Oklahoma

James (Houston)

what schools will finish in the top 5?

Buzzmaster
  (3:37 PM)

Right now, it looks like: 1. Florida, 2. USC, 3. Texas, 4. Georgia, 5. Notre Dame.

Ron (Van Nuys, CA)

What happened with Vidal Hazelton? Is there problems with his father letting him to to USC?

Buzzmaster
  (3:37 PM)

According the Craig Haubert, all the rumors about Vidal are just rumors. He's still a Trojan.

kevin (cottonwood heights,UT)

Where will Myron Rolle be playing

Buzzmaster
  (3:39 PM)

Florida State.

Buzzmaster
  (3:40 PM)

OK, we're going to have UCLA-bound DE Tobi Umodu and UTEP-bound P Kyle Peterson of South Hills High on in a few minutes.

Luke (Illinois)

Kyle of all teams what put UTEP even on your list and put them over the edge? And what was your feelings tword the Mike Price Situation?

Kyle Peterson
  (3:46 PM)

The whole Mike Price situation, I really don't care about it. Everyone makes mistakes in life. Other than that one situation, he's been great. I love the whole coaching staff. They treat you well. They have two kicking coaches that are actually kickers and punters. They can help me directly. These guys are great and it's a great opportunity for me to correct what i need to do in the future.

Jason (Long Beach, CA)

Hey Kyle, why no PAC 10 school?

Kyle Peterson
  (3:48 PM)

Yeah, USC, Cal, Az. State, Washington and Wash. St. all showed interest. But I thought UTEP was a great fit. Being a southern Cal guy, SC was the place. But as time progressed, the more I learned and saw, special teams wasn't that big a thing with other schools I wanted to go to a place where special teams mattered. So I thought UTEP was a great place to go. That's where I should end up.

Ken (Raleigh)

What is the biggest factor in deciding which school to attend?

Kyle Peterson
  (3:49 PM)

Going to a school where I felt I could fit in and get along with all the guys. The great atmosphere. A great education. Their team chemistry was great. I could see myself playing there.

Jeremy (Canada)

who is your pick for the superbowl?

Kyle Peterson
  (3:50 PM)

Pittsburgh of course. Polamalu is my man. He's my favorite player in the NFL.

Phil (San Fran)

The wait is over, how does it feel guys?

Kyle Peterson
  (3:51 PM)

It feels awesome. There's so much weight off my shoulders. I can go home and relax. I don't have to worry about the process. I just have to worry about having fun the rest of my senior year.

Cain ((Austin, TX))

Kyle, sorry i'm a little unfamiliar with you, what were your averages in High school for Yards Per kick?

Kyle Peterson
  (3:52 PM)

This year, I only punted about 20 times and averaged 36 yards but they were mostly directional punts. I had 55 touchbacks on kickoffs.

Nick (Philadelphia)

How cool will it be to see yourself on NCAA 2007 video game?

Kyle Peterson
  (3:53 PM)

Oh man! That's going to be sweet. Ever since '06 came out, that's all I do. Me and my buddies play it all the time. I'm not going to get first downs. I'm going to punt all the time.

Buzzmaster
  (3:54 PM)

Unfortunately, we won't be having UCLA's Tobi Umodu on today. He's taking a test.

Buzzmaster
  (3:55 PM)

If you want to keep that scholly, you have to make sure you graduate from high school. So good luck to Tobi and ace that test!

Buzzmaster
  (3:56 PM)

So thanks to Kyle, who seems to have done a lot of thinking about his decision to go to UTEP. Two kicking coaches, huh? That's great if you're a kicker. Good luck to Kyle and all the other recruits that have stopped by today.

Buzzmaster
  (3:57 PM)

We're headed back to Big 10 country in a few minutes.

Buzzmaster
  (3:57 PM)

Ohio State's Grant Schwartz, a safety, will be joining us.

Buzzmaster
  (4:03 PM)

He's here!

Robert (Scottsdale, AZ)

Hi guys, congrats to both of you. Was their one "thing" that put your respective schools above the competition?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:03 PM)

The tradition of Ohio State and how much tradition they have with the school and program.

Michael (Austin)

Hey Grant are you as excited as us Longhorn fans are for another great game between Ohio State and Texas?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:04 PM)

Yeah, definitely. I'm looking forward for that. It's two great teams and it's going to be explosive and it's going to be an awesome game.

Zach (Dayton, Ohio)

Grant huge Buckeye fan what made you want to go to Ohio State and what emtions will you have running out onto the field for the first time in the scarlet and grey?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:05 PM)

That's something I've thougth about. It's one thing I've thought about the most. It's going to be crazy. That's all I can say about that.

Nick (Daplayers) (OH)

Hey Grant! I just wanted to say congrats from all the guys down at Bucknuts. We are very proud of you and looking forward to seeing you play. What was it like signing the LOI for your dream school?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:05 PM)

It was a dream come true to finally sign that letter of intent. Even when you've committed it's not official until you sign on the dotted line.

Chad (Clinton NY)

Grant, what team are you most excited to face next year?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:06 PM)

Obviously, Texas is going to be a big game, but I'm looking forward to most is Michigan. That's the team you look forward to all year.

Purdy (CT)

Grant, how competitive is the Big Ten going to be this year? Could you give a top 5?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:07 PM)

Well, you know the Big Ten is always one of the top conferences in the country. Iowa, Michigan, OSU, PSU, Northwestern, even had a resurgence this year.

TH (New Jersey)

Grant, how do you feel about the transition from QB to S? Do you think being a QB will help you as a S?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:08 PM)

You know, I played DB my whole life. But playing QB will definitely help me as a DB. You can see the whole scheme and it will definitely help me.

Shane (Ohio)

Grant what other schools did you get offers from?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:09 PM)

I got offers from Boise State, Washington State, Oregon, Colorado State. I got a lot of interest from other schools.

Jason (South Bend)

Grant, what are some of the goals you have set for yourself to accomplish during your freshman year?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:09 PM)

Obviously, No. 1 is to get some playing time under my belt. Also, to win the national championship as a freshman would be awesome.

Chris (Cleveland, OH)

Grant, congrats on joining the buckeyes, What have you decided to major in?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:10 PM)

You know I'm deciding on that right now. I'm looking into a couple.

Matt (Dayton, OH)

Grant, with the decisions of some Ohio State underclassmen to declare for the NFL draft, do you think you will get a decent chance to contribute to the success of the secondary in the upcoming season?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:11 PM)

When you graduate all four of your DBs to the NFL, that leaves the spots open. There are no set starters. I'm going to get the chance to go in and help out ASAP.

Chad (Louisville, KY)

Grant, If you could face one team in the country who would it be?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:11 PM)

I'd have to say USC. I'm really looking forward to that. I'm from southern Cal it would be cool to come back here and play them.

carlos (ca)

grant, what high school did you go to and how did your team do this year?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:13 PM)

I went to Dana Hills HS in California.. We went 4-1 to start before I seperated my shoulder. We never really got back into the flow and finished 4-6, but that wasn't an example of how good our team was.

Jason (South Bend)

Grant, it's good to see a SoCal boy leavin Cali. Did you consider coming to play for the Irish??

Grant Schwartz
  (4:14 PM)

Notre Dame, everyone growing up, it's a team that has a great attraction. I sent tapes to them in the beginning, but if I was going to leave the west coast, i was going to Ohio State.

Zack (Akron)

What kind of recruiting class are THE Ohio State Buckeyes going to have?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:15 PM)

I go and check things out and see the commits that we have. When I went to my recruiting trip, I met some of the other recruits. It looks like we have a good class coming and I'm excited to come in. I'm going out in July to get ready.

matt (columbus, oh)

how is your shoulder now?

Grant Schwartz
  (4:15 PM)

As of right now, it's back to 100%. It took me a while to get it back, but it's back. As soon as I get to OSU, it should be good.

Buzzmaster
  (4:16 PM)

Thanks to Grant. Good luck at OSU.

Buzzmaster
  (4:17 PM)

For all you USC fans, CJ Gable, 9th ranked RB, has committed to USC.

Xavier (Denver)

whos next?

Jason (South Bend)

Who's up next??

Buzzmaster
  (4:22 PM)

We're waiting for Craig Haubert to come back. He's on ESPNU right now, dropping the knowledge.

Buzzmaster
  (4:22 PM)

He's talking Tennessee commits right now.

Marc M. (So. Cal)

CJ Gable to USC... AWESOME!

Cain (Austin, TX)

How many Running backs has USC inked this class?

Buzzmaster
  (4:24 PM)

From what I understand, four.

Buzzmaster
  (4:27 PM)

Looks like a lot of schools are starting to put up their final LOI signing lists.

Buzzmaster
  (4:30 PM)

For the ESPN.com Insiders out there, http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/tracker/prospects has a list of prospects. They're updating them as quickly as possible.

Russ (Dyersville)

Buzz, going along with the most repeated question, how excited are you to see yourself on NCAA 07?

Buzzmaster
  (4:30 PM)

I think it's going to be awesome.

Buzzmaster
  (4:31 PM)

I can't wait to see myself out on the field. I'm going to make a full team just of Buzzmasters. QB, WR, DE, S, CS, P, K, the whole team. And they'll all be 99 ratings too.

Elizabeth (Maryland)

This has been a long day for Florida fans. Will the outcome be good?

Buzzmaster
  (4:32 PM)

When ESPN recruiting insider Craig Haubert was on earlier, he said they've recovered well after losing some guys.

Brian (Portland, Ore)

Craig - which recruits do you see making an instant impact at their school next year?

Craig Haubert
  (4:33 PM)

Once again, it's hard for a high school kid to come in and make an impact, but there are some that can.

Craig Haubert
  (4:34 PM)

Myron Rolle at FSU for two reasons, one is he has the ability and 2, he's already on campus and can go through spring ball. For the same reasons Sergio Kindle of TExas. OT Andre Smith of Alabama, he has the ability to make an impact on the o line right away. Another guy, Maurice Evans of Penn State.

mike (BALTIMORE. MD)

How do you think the TERPS signing went.

Craig Haubert
  (4:36 PM)

Maryland really took a blow this year with PSU raiding a lot of top players in their state. But with tath, they managed to land two players S Pha'Terrell Washington and WR Drew Gloster. They also got Jeremy Ricker a QB.

Craig Haubert
  (4:36 PM)

They've done a nice job.

Steve (NJ)

where did Jimmy Clausen go

Craig Haubert
  (4:37 PM)

We've Notre Dame and USC are the leaders, but let's get through today first.

pradeep (tn)

what is wrong with 2 of lsu commitments, keiland williams, and parrish cox? why haven;t they signed the letter of intent

Craig Haubert
  (4:38 PM)

We're checking on that right now.

Kevin Murray (Simsbury)

Do you think Uconn football willbe as good as its Basketball program one day?

Erich (Todte)

I wanted to ask a question about Uconn, did they do anything significant thats worth talking about? Uconn over the past few seasons has been on a steady rise, im just wondering if they've done anything to strengthen there team. thanks!

Craig Haubert
  (4:40 PM)

They did, actually. UConn landed a couple of top players at a couple of positions Brad Kanuch WR out of Penn. Jamie Nixon, an instate player from Hyde Leadership. Anthony Davis, a FB from Maryland. UConn is slowly but surely improving, showing their a player on the national scale. Jeremiah Hunter is a top 150 player. They had a couple of things to be excited about.

Jordan (Pasadena, CA)

Texas is normally 1 or 2.. how did the ywin the Rose Bowl and drop in recruiting?

Craig Haubert
  (4:41 PM)

The Rose Bowl had no effect on the 2006 class. This was a class that they put together early. It is a very strong class. But right now, Florida and USC have put together a little bit stronger. A No. 1 class does not equal a national title.

Rowe B. (Jackson, MS)

Is Kenny Ashley (RB, Calif.) headed to MS State or USC?

Buzzmaster
  (4:45 PM)

Craig had to step away midquestion. It's a zoo in the recruiting newsroom. I don't know if Craig's even had a chance to eat today. He's been on The Show, several appearances for ESPNU.

Buzzmaster
  (4:45 PM)

But he'll be back. We're holding right now.

BK (Loras College)

Buzz, what's your take on all of the chaos happening around the country today?

Buzzmaster
  (4:47 PM)

I think it's nuts. Basically at every scholarship football college in America today, there is a group of people sweating out the signings of their recruits.

Buzzmaster
  (4:48 PM)

It's a lot of pressure. Land a bad recruiting class and it could, potentially, hurt your job security down the line. A bad class or two in a row and you're not going to have a good team.

Craig Haubert
  (4:49 PM)

Right now Ashley's verbal is to MS State.

amir (NJ)

hey craig, in your opinion, did Rutgers do enough in recruiting to sustain a bowl eligible program for years to come (aside from retaining Brian Leonard)?

Craig Haubert
  (4:50 PM)

I don't know about years to come. Rutgers has to take it one year at a time. I think coach has got the program in the right direction. They lured a top CB in Cordell Young. They got two WR Burnon Anderson and Tim Brown from Florida. They need to keep on winning to improve their recruiting.

jake (richmond)

What do you think of the Va Tech signing class? I like what I've seen.

Craig Haubert
  (4:52 PM)

I like what I've seen too. Va. Tech has never been a team that's all about big names. That program has been built on being successful in Va. and the surrounding states, getting players in the program that have ability and getting coached up. That being said, this is class that has top talent. They made several good pickups on the d line.

jacob (alpharetta ga)

is bama goinging to get tim hawthorne?

Craig Haubert
  (4:53 PM)

Tim Hawthorne has commited to Auburn on Monday and has now signed. So no.

Tron (Allendale, MI)

Ryan Mallet. Remember the name.

Buzzmaster
  (4:54 PM)

And Craig is off again to go do a TV spot. Thanks to him and the recruits we talked to earlier for joining us today. It's been crazy.

Buzzmaster
  (4:55 PM)

Craig's going to do his TV hit and then spend much of the rest of the time with us discussing the day's work.

Russ (Dyersville)

no way, are we done Buzz?!??!?!? what else am i gonna spend my afternoon doing???

Buzzmaster
  (4:58 PM)

not done yet. Craig will be back on in a few.

Buzzmaster
  (5:12 PM)

Scouts Inc's Craig Haubert is here. Send in your questions.

Craig Haubert
  (5:13 PM)

Let's go.

Marc (DC)

With such a stellar class, how did FSU not rank in the top 5 according to ESPN?

Craig Haubert
  (5:14 PM)

Wait until the final rankings coming out later, but no team currently in the top 5 has lost much. FSU made a great push today, but we are still waiting on some final classes from around the country.

Rod (NJ)

What is the true word on Hazleton.

Craig Haubert
  (5:15 PM)

Hazelton is still headed to USC for now. The USC list comes out shortly and that should clear things up.

Craig Haubert
  (5:16 PM)

I have to take a call. Be back with you in a few.

Brandon (Stillwater,OK)

How big of an impact do you think Gerald Mccoy will make as a freshman at OU?? Can you say "Tommie Harris"??

Craig Haubert
  (5:19 PM)

It is more difficult than people think for a freshman to make an impact. However, McCoy has the size and ability to do it. He has the build to play in the trenches in the Big 12. He has the explosiveness to make a big impact.

Rick James (Los Angeles)

Will Snead at Texas get a shot at starting next season? What kind of athlete is he?

Craig Haubert
  (5:20 PM)

I believe Snead will get an opportunity to start. He will compete with Colt McCoy. Snead has the ability to play. He can pass and also runs very well -- something fans got used to in Austin with VY.

Paul (Birmingham, MI)

Did Lloyd Carr manage to snag at least one impact player? Please tell me someone is going to help our beleaguered defense.

Craig Haubert
  (5:22 PM)

They definitely upgraded the defense with LB Brandon Graham and safety Jonus Mouton, who is an ESPN 150 player. Don't forget about DB Adam Patterson.

Mike (New Jersey)

Can you tell me something good about Notre Dame? I know my man Charlie had to come up with something good.

Craig Haubert
  (5:23 PM)

Yes, I can. Coach Weis had a very successful recruiting class. The headliners are OL Sam Young, RB James Aldridge and QB Raeshon McNeil. It's a very strong class.

Sebastian (Miami)

Is the Miami class that bad? Why did they have a problem recruiting this year?

Craig Haubert
  (5:25 PM)

The class is not bad, but it is not up to Miami standards. A couple of reasons for the slip are: South Florida's talent is down, the bowl loss to LSU and the loss of some of their assistant coaches. WR Sam Shields and RB Kylan Robinson are good.

Buzz
  (5:25 PM)

Craig will hop back on in a few. What does SportsNation think about the day so far?

R. Anthony (The LC)

USC and Texas are unstoppable when it comes to recruiting.

R. Anthony (The LC)

Florida is gonna be a dynasty soon!

Brian (Sac)

I want to hear more about the greatness of USC! Feed my need!

Buzz
  (5:28 PM)

Chill out Brian. We'll hear more about the Trojans later.

D.H. (Alexandria, LA)

Urban's myth will fall apart, no spread in the SEC!!

Craig Haubert
  (5:28 PM)

I'm back.

Joe(Scottsbluff,NE)

How did Nebraska and Bill Callahan go from having such a good class last year to this? Did we get anyone who will block for our QB?

Craig Haubert
  (5:30 PM)

Good question. Definitely not the same strength at the high school level this year. Nebraska did sign some good JC players, which can be a roll of the dice. Ricky Thenarse, a safety from California, is the headliner. Callahan and his staff needs to upgrade their high school recruiting next season.

Ron (Van Nuys, CA)

Hey Criag...good job today...Who else are we waiting for to announce (Any big names)? Biggest Shocker in your opinion?

Craig Haubert
  (5:32 PM)

The biggest shocker was C.J. Spiller heading to Clemson. It looked like he was headed to Penn State for a while, but he wound up at Clemson. Aleric Mullins heading to UNC over Auburn and Tennessee was another surprise.

Craig Haubert
  (5:33 PM)

We are stil waiting to hear from LeShon McCoy. He is already at Milford Academyl. WR Jamere Holland is still out there, too.

Colton (Little Rock,Ar)

Craig how do you feel arkansas did with their recruiting class, and after an alright season by their very young team do you think they can contend with this recruiting class in the sec west?

Craig Haubert
  (5:35 PM)

They did a great job this year. Mustain was the catalyst for the strong finish. Several excellent players decomitted but came back like Damien Williams. WR London Crawford was a big catch after he decomitted from LSU. The Hogs added some major firepower to the offense. Down the road, they should contend.

Ron (Ashburn, VA)

Craig, how did Illinois fare out? Did Ron Zook live up to his reputation as a great recruiter?

Craig Haubert
  (5:37 PM)

He did a good job, but it is tougher at Illinois than it is at Florida. TE Jeff Cumberland is a tall receiver who can stretch the field. QB Williams out of Chicago can get it done with his arm or legs. Not a great class, but it will definitely help.

Rob (NJ)

Who looks to be on top now in the SEC with their recruiting class..Georgia or Florida?

Craig Haubert
  (5:38 PM)

Florida is still a bit ahead of Georgia. The pick ups of Rashad Jones and Knowshown Moreno helped close the gap for the Dawgs.

Randy (Baton Rouge, LA)

Craig can you comment about the recruiting class at LSU this year and what effect a new coach had on it? It looks like the signing class is mostly denfensive players.

Craig Haubert
  (5:40 PM)

Coach Miles had some highs and lows at the end. They got Jai Eugene, but lost London Crawford. LSU also added a monster tackle Charles Deas to go along with Al Woods. This class is heavy on defense, especially at the top. But TE Richard Dickson and WR Ricky Dixon and RB Charles Scott are nice additions to the offense.

Todd (San Clemente)

How 'bout some news for the West Coast other than USC? How did the Mike Stoops do at Arizona for example? Still waiting for him to put his mark on the Pac 10.

Craig Haubert
  (5:42 PM)

We are still waiting for Arizona's class to become official. QB Tyler Lyon and CB Devin Ross highlight their verbal list.

Mike (SC)

Where will Clemson's class fall?

Craig Haubert
  (5:42 PM)

Clemson has a good shot at the top 10 by the day's end.

Danny (Columbus)

What do you think of Ohio States recruting class?

Craig Haubert
  (5:44 PM)

Very good. Coach Tressel did a great job in-state. RB Chris Wells is a good fit. DE Robert Rose is an explosive player. OSU did get some possible LB replacements in Thaddeus Gibson, Rob Holman and Mark Johnson.

WBJ (Birmingham, AL)

How has Auburn done compared to others in the SEC today?

Craig Haubert
  (5:46 PM)

Auburn has done very well. They wound up getting. TE Michael Goggans from Tennessee. RB Benjamin Tate, WR Hawthorne are two great offensive additions. They went heavy on DLs too. Overall, it was a good job.

YazersPSU (MyDesk)

Penn St have a successful recruiting class, and how does it compare to the rest of the big ten?

Craig Haubert
  (5:48 PM)

Still waiting for their official list, but so far so good. JoePa landed Maurice Evans and J.B. Walton. They did a great job recruiting in Maryland.

Craig Haubert
  (5:48 PM)

Thanks for the questions.

Buzz
  (5:49 PM)

We've got about 15 minutes left. What are you guys thinking as time winds down on signing day?

Russ (Dyersville)

About time boring Craig left!

Buzz
  (5:49 PM)

Watch it Russ. Craig's is friends with Buzz.

Bryan (Cleveland, Ohio)

Ohio State gonna be ranked #1 preseason after this recruiting class

Ro (New York)

USC has the top class, quality-wise.

Ivan (PA)

I am anxious to see where LeSean McCoy ends up.

Jeff (Louisville, KY)

Go Vols! Down, but not out

Greg (Provo)

My prediction: UCLA and Oregon will be vying for top spot in the PAC 10 this year. Goodbye USC!

mike (missouri)

Missouri has the worst class in the big 12

Patrick (MD)

Thrilled with the Weis bringing back mystique with very tallented defensive recruits, and two big time QBs.

Nick (Iowa City, IA)

The Hawkeyes may never have a great "Star" class but they always pick up guys that fall off other Division 1 school's lists. How do you feel the hawks did?

Chris (Plainview,NE)

Very happy with Nebraska's class this year.We got the pieces to puzzle we were missing.

B. M. Kurt (D'ville)

Nebraska will not live up to the hype that people on here have been saying about them

Buzz
  (5:57 PM)

Thanks guys. It's time to wrap up the signing day show. Keep checking the recruiting blog for updates. Be sure to tune to ESPNews from 7-8 for a recruiting wrap-up show. Hope your school did well today. Adios.
