I can only play 2 of the 3: Edge, L. White, and Boldin. Boldin has to sit, right?
Yes - Edge faces a weak run defense, and White lines up against what may be the worst run defense in the NFL
need 1 between Selvin Young and Jamaal Lewis...thanx. Merry Xmas!!!
Young - Henry has a partially torn PCL that may keep him out again, and the Titans may also be without Haynesworth again
Karabell is sticking w/ S. Alexander this wk. If Alexander plays AND S. Young starts for Den, would you start Alexander, Young, or M. Morris as a #2RB this week? Thanks
I have the utmost respect for EK, but I don't see Alexander doing much at all and would much rather use Young
Who to start at flex this week: Ahman Green, TJ Duckett or Darrell Jackson?
Green is a gametime decision and Duckett may only see limited work - Jackson is your only real choice unless you cut him and go for Anthomy Thomas or Aaron Moorehead
Westbrook listed on the injury report for Friday and is questionable. Which backup is the one to pick up?
Westbrook is still expected to play, but Buckhalter is his handcuff
Who is the better play at flex: Wes Welker or Chester Taylor?
Welker - he is now a full-fledged fantasy star, while Taylor is just a plug-in
Is Andre Johnson going to have a game? Start him over Boldin or Hines?
I would - Schaub is healthy too and AJ should be well-rested and fully ready to contribute good numbers again
I need 2 receivers to start out of Colston, Welker, and Ward. In my flex spot I currently have Fargas going, is he a good play or should I put one of the receivers above? Thanks for the help.
I would use the three WRs, especially when you consider Ward faces the Jets
In a non-ppr league, who to start this week? Bush or Chester Taylor??
I would start Bush - the Texans D is going to have a lot of trouble containing him
Hey Scott, would you start Schaub or VY this weekend?
I would go with Schaub - he gets Johnson back, and the Saints allow over 250 passing yards per game
Scott PLEASE ADVISE!!! This week has huge playoff implications for me. I'm thinking about benching LT and starting Gore and C. Taylor. Please let me know what you think!!!
Giore has not played well enough to consider him over LT, and Taylor has not played enough to consider him over lT - that is matchup overanalysis - matchups alone do not dictat elineup decisions - its level of player plus matchup
With AD going down, I've got a gaping hole at RB. Do I go with Ryan Grant, J. Lewis or Kevin Jones for the rest of the season?
I think you have to rotate them based on matchups and health - there sno one surefire guy - Grant for this week
Fargas or Priest this week?
I would go with Fargas - I wa snot overly impressed with Priest last week and he faces a tougher D this week, even without Freeney
Please answer serious QB question. I have Jay Cuts and VY going head to head on Monday. But Kyle Boller is sitting on the waivers with a sweet matchup vs Clev. All week everyone has said VY and Jay are in for tough games. Should I grab Boller and Plug in for a Week or stick with one of the two Qbs I have? Thanks. PLLLLEAAAAASSSSEEE ANNNSSSWWWEERRR.
Boller can be erratic no matter who he faces - you can't judge a QB on matchups alone - look at Losman last week - neither Young ior Cutler are ideal starts, but I don;t trust Boller no matter who he faces - I would rather go with Cutler
bit of a predicament here. I've got 3 players one flex: Reggie Brown, Fred Taylor, Bobby Engram? I've got 2 TE on slot: Ben Watson or Donald Lee? please help im dying here!
I would use Lee until it's clear Watson is 100 pct again - I would take one more shot with Engram of those 3
Kenny Watson or Andre Davis as a flex? What do you see out of boldin for the rest of the year?
Watson's touches will be very limited, so use Davis. Boldin's hip is still an issue, so I would only expect occasional TDs and erratic yardage totals
you don't seem to be on the chester bandwagon.......need two. chester, gore, dayne, priest, kevin jones.
I like Taylor, but not as a top 15 guy - he is no Peterson and is an adequate, not outstanding starter. I would use him over Dayne, Priest or Jones, though
Scott, could really use your advice on which 2 wide recievers to start in a touchdown only league. Chad Johnson, Andre Johnson, Marvis Harrison, Wes Welker, or Roy Williams???
Chad Johnson against a banged-up Arizona secondary, and Welker, because he always seems to score nowadays
As my #3WR....pick one please. Curtis, Mason, or Calvin Johnson? Thanks.
Johnson's bak is still hurting him and Mason dosn't score enough - I like Curtis for a long TD against Miami
Is any NYJ receiver worth picking up for ther stretch run?
Cotchery - he and Clemens have worked well in workouts and preseason games in the past
Would you take a chance on a backup running back with a great playoff schedule, like a Musa Smith or J.Wright, and drop Gonzalez or Bruce? My other receivers are Colston, Boldin, and Evans.
You can't trust Evans, so keep Bruce. I would get those guys only if you have their starters as handcuffs - at this point, its better to handcuff your starters for th estretch run than to take a gamble on longshot backups of players you do not have
I really can't believe I'm asking this, but...Ron Dayne or Dwayne Wright?
Dayne - Anthony Thomas will likely get more carries than Wright this week
Who will catch the most passes and score the most touchdowns out of the Seahawk recievers now that they are all healthy and in a pass heavy system???
Branch - he plays flanker and that is the prime playmaking position in the Seattle passing game
Big trade controversy in our league and we need your thoughts. The last place team (0-10) just traded the third place team SJax for AP (Minn). Now this is a keeper league and AP would be a second round pick next year. I don't mind the two players involved but what I don't like is that will leave the 0-10 with only 1 starting RB (Grant, D. Williams & L. Jordan). He still has 3 more games to play. Two of those games against teams trying to get a first round bye. Plus there are 3 teams that are 3-7 so he hasn't secured the #1 pick for next year either. To me this is tanking your line up. He had Chatman, E. James, Grant and Jackson last week. What are your thoughts?
I think by getting Peterson he is building for next year - as longa she has a legal lineup you really have nothing to say - the players involved make it fair - if this bothers you, you should set an earlier trade deadline next year
Situation: I am currently in first place and have been offered Marshawn Lynch for Fargas and Mo Morris. My RBs are LT and MJD, and Fargas is currently my flex with Morris on bench. I am comfortable in first so i could go without Marshawn this weekend. Is Lynch that much of an upgrade in the last few weeks over Fargas to justify me accepting a player who is injured?
Lynch could miss more than one game, so I would hold off on making the deal
Pick 3: AJ, Boldin, Hackett, Henry or Marshall
Johnson to return with a good game, Hackett for another score, and Henry against an injury-riddled Cardinals secondary
would u trade c taylor for marvin harrison?
No - I would not want to take on the worries surrounding Harrison every week
Priest Holmes or Ryan Grant?
I owuld use Grant - like his matchup better, and he is younger and fresher
Which D - Tennessee or Green Bay?
Green Bay - good matchup and Titans could be without Haynesworth again
I am looking to upgrade at WR and have been offered Housh and Kitna if I give Favre and Henry (wr). I have Romo as my #1 QB. Should I pull the trigger???
Definitely - you still have a great starting QB and get a top 3 fantasy WR
If A. Thomas is going to get more carries this week, why did you rank him 36 vs. Dwayne Wright's 32 RB ranking?
The news that Thomas will get more carries only broke this afternoon, and the ranks will be revised again Sunday - originally, it was thought Wright would get more work, but Jauron tabbed Thomas as the guy this afternoon
I have been offered T.O for Clinton Portis, my other backs are Lynch, Chatman and FWP. I make the deal right?
If you only start two RBs, yes - and especially if you are desperate for WR help
SUPER SLEEPER FOR WEEK 11: Isaac Bruce (WR). You heard it hear first. I think people forgot about his great 145 yards, 8 rec effort from Week 2 and because of a hamstring injury from last week's game. Well Bruce is practicing at full strength and he tends to shine against SF. I would recommend people look for him on the waiver wire as a fill-in for bad match ups (i.e. Brandon Stokely, Lee Evans, Marvin Harrison). He will be a VERY good #2 WR this week. You heard it hear first!
OK Erik, if Bruce has a good game, we'll give you full credit!
Hello Scott Engel, you dog you, you remember me from the other night, how come you never called me back? Was I just some one night thing.
I haven't been to Florida since last March -there are nothing but zeroes there, as in wins for the Dolphins
Rankings explanation, please. Earlier in the chat you said B. Watson was a risky start healthwise, yet he has miraculously moved UP four spots in the updated rankings to #10. What's up with that?
He's not a major risk, but he's not a top start either - I would have to believe a week off makes him healthier, but there have been no firm reports - no bad news gets him moved up a bit, but no good news keeps him out of the top 6 or so, where he usually belongs
Hey Scott! Mason or Hackett this week? And is worth dropping one of those guys for Walker?
I would go with Hackett, because I do not trust the Baltimore offense in any matchup - I would drop Mason for Walker, yes
As an AP owner should I trade Chatman for Taylor? Concerned about Ricky Williams.
I wouldn't be too concerned about Ricky the way Chatman is running - but I would rather have the AP handcuff, so make the deal
Regarding Jon in San Antonio's question about Ben Watson's ranking, I think your answer is a cop-out. You said play Donald Lee over Watson, yet Lee is ranked WAY below Watson.
You are not reading correctly - please get your facts straight - I have Lee ranked ninth, Watson 14th - you are looking at overall ranks, not my personal ones
Scott, I'm pretty sure history has taught us that the RB is a disposable position, and that if a stud RB (who's having a great year behind a dominating line) gets injured, his replacement will be virtually as successful. Can you find me ONE EXAMPLE IN HISTORY where this hasn't been the case? In other words, Chester and Chatman should THRIVE and, in my mind, are both top 10 RB's as long as they get most of the carries. Disagree?
Taylor is not as talented as Peterson - he is not going to get 200-yard games - Maurice Morris has never been as productive as Alexander - Brian Leonard will never reach Steven Jackson's level of production - nothing is absolute - it depends on the system and the runner, not just one or the other - you cannot tell me Taylor will put up Peterson-like numbers - just not realistic - when Westbrook goes down, no one else will post those kind sof numbers
Hey Scott, what do you think for this week out of the following?: Romo or Big Ben; Chargers D or Giants D. Thanks!
I actually like Ben better against the lowly Jets,a nd the Chargers face a more conservative offense
Kitna, Boller, or Garcia this week?
Garcia - he is much more steady than the other two
Breese or D. Anderson?
I would go with Brees - Houston has been very vulnerable to the pass
I will ask one last time would you play Selvin Young, David Patten or Bobby Engram, in a flex postion, i already have DJ Hackett in a starting WR spot. PLease Help
I would use Young - not looking good for Henry and Young should get the most touches
I AGREE WITH JOE FROM SANTA MONICA. S-Jax was not good this year so why would Leanard be good? Their offensive line stinks! And Alexander was not good this year! But look at Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson a few years back? You could've had Cedric Benson running for the Chiefs 3 years ago and he would've had 150 yards and 2 TD's a game. I think you're wrong, Scott. Time will tell. Chester and Chatman both go over 100 this week. Wanna bet?
You're going to tell me Taylor will put up Peterson-type numbers? Anthony Thomas will produce like Marshawn Lynch? For every example you give me of where a plugin back has succeeded, I give you one that hasn't. Time doesn't permit me to research all the examples
Branch or Hackett
Branch - he is well-rested and is back at flanker
Schaub or Kitna?
Kitna for now - I want to wait a bit on Schaub before I start him again
Buzzer Beater- Please pick 1 in a ppr league- M. Morris, J. Fargas or D. Mason?
I would go with Morris to get regular work and catch some passes out of the backfield.
Whitten or Gonzales
I would go with Witten - I think the Colts will contain Gonzo easier than the Redskins do Witten Thanks a lot everyone!
