Sorry for the late start everyone, I'm going to pinch-hit this morning, so let's get started...
It is time to panic about brandon Marshall?
I wouldn't panic, but that Denver offense simply isn't what it was the first few weeks of the season. Teams will try to take him away, of course, but it's a lot easier to do when Tony Scheffler isn't there to occupy the middle of the field. I think he'll have a strong game against the Browns Thursday, though.
with the loss of orton whats a good pic up
Well, Vinnie, chances are there aren't a whole bunch of options out there in your league, and you'll have to take a lesser option because of it. If Joe Flacco is out there, he may be the best starter available, and he's only a matchup option.
Is it time to trade Plex?
Hard to say what you could get for him at this point. It's been so long since he's done anything positive fantasy-wise. I think you likely have to bite the bullet and hope that Burress gives you a couple big games the rest of the way, which he is obviously capable of doing.
Is Jamal Charles worth picking up? Is he going to have more games like the one he had this week? Thanks in advance.
Definitely worth picking up, Mike. Now, it's still the Chiefs, so don't expect great things, but with Kolby Smith out for the season and Larry Johnson out for Week 10 at the very least, Charles will be flex-worthy many weeks.
So is Moore going to be useless tonight for fantasy now that Willie Parker is back?
Maybe not useless, because I don't expect Parker to get all the carries in his first game back, but Moore isn't a very strong option tonight, Bob.
Should I offer MB111 for M.Turner or Ronnie Brown?
I wouldn't, Tom. I think Barber will put up his usual numbers once teams respect the QB handing off to him, which should be in Week 11, following this week's bye.
Do you think Seahawks WR Koren Robinson is the real deal?
No, I don't, Steiny. And his QB situation doesn't help him much, either. I think the Seattle passing game will continue to be dicey going forward.
Keith, are you concerned about Marshawn Lynch? He has been far from stellar this season, although has the TDs. I realize he was "sick" yesterday for part of the game, but what about the knee injury? Thanks!
I haven't heard of any knee issues from yesterday, but the team is obviously focused on spreading out the carries between him and Fred Jackson, so that means Lynch isn't nearly the back you thought you were drafting. He's not giving you great yardage totals, so if he doesn't score, he's a disappointment. I don't see any signs of that changing, from the way they're splitting 'em up.
Is Addai going to get back on track.
Well, Addai hasn't been healthy all season, really, and the Colts line hasn't been great, either. If Addai gets closer to 100%, I think he can still be a big help, but I know it's been frustrating to own him to this point. Just lower your expectations. Remember, he hasn't had 80 yds rushing in a game in a calendar year now.
Is Torain a buy low option? How did he look on his 3 carries yesterday?
With the neck problems Pittman's having, along with all the other injuries to Broncos' backs, Torain's definitely worth owning. But outside of Week 6 and 7 when Pittman got almost all of the RB carries, no Broncos back has carried the ball more than 11 times in a game. With the short week, Torain could be an intriguing play against a shaky Browns run D on Thursday.
Keith Is it finally time to name Tim Hightower the starting RB for the Arizona Cardinals? What value does he have for the rest of the year?
He's the starter, and J.J. Arrington appears to be the No. 2, sliding Edge to No. 3. Since this is going to be a playoff team, barring a miracle in that poor division, it would seem the team is trying to make sure they solidify roles going forward. Since the Arizona offense is solid, particularly passing the ball, Hightower should be a decent No. 2 back in many weeks, especially since he's been the goal-line guy all season anyway.
Hightower, that is ... of course.
See what I can get for Harrsion immediatley???
I doubt you'll be able to get anything great for him, unless you're simply desperate for depth at another position. Harrison's just not what he once was and everyone knows it.
Any word on what Santana Moss's status is for tonight?
I've heard positive words, but still no definitive answer on him playing tonight. I do know that he participated in practice Saturday, so that's a step in the right direction. I'm sure we'll know more as the day goes on, though, Billy.
Keith, with TEs struggling this year, is Dallas Clark still an elite TE?
There are so few tight ends that you could seriously consider elite, but Clark is still one of the best when he's healthy. He's had three decent games in a row now, too.
What should I do about Peyton? One week he is solid, the next he is shaky and blowing games for me. I have Jake Delhomme on the bench, do I start him over Peyton next week?
Ryan, I generally have a hard time benching a player like Peyton who generally gives you very positive results for someone like Delhomme who is streakier. I know the Panthers play Oakland, but it's also quite possible they do their damage running the ball. Manning has had big games against good defenses, so I would still start Peyton.
Time to sell high on Derrick Mason?
You know, I would hang on to Mason, unless someone's willing to give up what you need for him. He and Flacco are really clicking and for those who thought last season's numbers couldn't be repeated, Mason's on pace to approach them right now, and Flacco is progressing nicely each week.
What is the status of Schaub? Sell Gonzales (IND) high now, or is this the start of finally having good games?
Schaub will have an MRI today, but if I had to guess, I'd say Rosenfels gets the start this week against Baltimore, which isn't a great play regardless of who is under center. And I still don't think Gonzalez is much of a play, since those were his first two TDs of the season.
Would you drop either Sammy Morris, Deuce, or Fargas for Jamaal Charles?
Yes, I'd drop one of them. Which one is the tougher part. Morris and Fargas have the most upside among the three, since Deuce is limited in what he can provide, so I'd drop McAllister for that reason.
Buzzer Beater! What the heck happend to McGahee?!?! Is he going to turn it around?
I wish I knew the answer to that one, Matt. He was started in 78% of ESPN leagues this week, so many were toasted by his absence from the field. I still think he gets out there and plays this week in Houston, but with Rice running so well, I'm interested to see how carries will be split up. Rice and McClain have already been factors this season, so this might muddy things up even more.
Drop Bulger to grab Ryan while I wait for Romo to return? Thanks!
Bulger simply hasn't looked great, while Ryan continues to mature. And Ryan's got the Saints this week, so that's a friendly matchup for hopefully the one week you'll need to cover before Romo returns. I'd do that.
Sorry to cut it shorter than an hour today. But next time I chat at my regular time, I'll make it up to you all. I know I didn't get to as many questions as I hoped, so my apologies. Check out our 3 p.m. chat today if you didn't get your question answered, please. Thanks!
