Barry will be chatting with us on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. ET!
Great night for Rangers and Bruins fans. We'll see what happens tonight.
Hey Barry. I'm still enjoying the sweep of Montreal! Are the Habs going to have a lot of issues in the off season with half their team up for free agency? Will Gainey be fired? Whose calling the shots with the ownership question mark?
You do not know if the team will be sold and someone will have to pay for the loss and it may be Gainey, although it would surprise me and there will be a turnover in players. I think they will look drastically different at the start of next season than they do right now.
Will the Caps be able to cool off Lindquist?
If they cannot this series is over, obviously. They threw a ton of shots on him, but they need to do better on the PP. That was the difference in the game. Frankly the question is can they beat him three time? I don't think so.
Has anyone seen Nik Zherdev anywhere? The Rangers are winning with smoke and mirrors right now and Lundqvuist has been standing on his head...how long can this possibly continue?
It has happened three times already and he was great even in the loss. He will not suddenly become a bad goalie. The Caps have not been able to figure him out.
Whats up Barry? What team looks the strongest so far?
Good question. I would say Detroit and Vancouver look the best. I thought Vancouver looked great in their series as did Detroit. Boston looks good too.
Hey Barry, Big fan by the way, Do you see anyone being able to touch Detroit?
Oh yeah. Whoever wins the Ducks-Sharks series will, and Vancouver looks great and the Flames and Hawks are playing very well, too. So it will not be a cake walk for Detroit here.
Hi Barry, Is Osgood getting into playoff form, or did they run into a Columbus team that lacks offense aside from Nash
I think Osgood is playing very well; he played very well in Game 1. He has not given up a soft goal thus far, and he is a vet and know what it takes. You can see that everyone in Detroit has kicked it up a notch. This is a veteran team that has really picked it up.
Barry, what do you think of the Pens replacing Sykora with Satan for game 5 in Pittsburgh?
Sykora has not been much of a factor so I do not think it is a big deal one way or another. They are similar players, so I do not see it being a huge factor in the game.
Who's coming out of the pond victorious tonight?
Good question. I think the Ducks will win. I liked how they played in Game 3.
Disappointing game last night for the Hawks. It sure looked like they had the momentum to come back after being 3 goals down. Do you think that game is ultimately good or bad for the team the rest of the series?
I do not think it will affect the, It is tough to come all the way back and not be able to finish. It's now a best of three and they have home ice. So I think if you told them that before the series began, they would take it.
Do you think the Devils will be able to build on the positive points of the late second/early third period and overcome the late breakdown in the third that led to a totally new series picture? Or will the demoralizing loss paired with the emotion and momentum Carolina gained from this be to much to weather?
I think that loss is forgotten the next day. This is a veteran team. You do not dwell on what happened yesterday and you look ahead to tomorrow. I think that is what will happen with the Devils.
Barry got an opinion on the disappearance of Norris trophy candidate Mike Green? Ever had personal experience with one of your players play in the postseason deteriorate? What did you do?
Mike Green has not been good, I agree. I think he has been the most disappointing Cap this series. But I think you saw the same thing with Boyle, who picked it up for Game 3. Bruce will know which buttons to push to get him going. But Green must play better or the Caps are going to lose the series.
Really enjoying the Sharks/Ducks series. What do see as the keys to the series from here? And, which player do you see as a possible surprise difference maker?
I think Thorton will be the different maker, good or bad. Boyle played well as did Blake. So to me it comes down to Joe Thorton. If the Sharks win, he needs to step up.
Even with the loss of Hossa among others, the Penguins were still able to squeak in the playoffs, do you see them as a legitimate threat to Boston and if so could we see a repeat finals?
The East is wide open. I think all the teams are even. So whoever gets out of the first round can get to the finals.
That's all the time I have today. We'll chat again next week.
