  (1:29 PM)

Hello everyone. After a short hiatus, SVP's chat is back! (car trouble last week). It's all on the table, send in your questions!

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:30 PM)

Hi.

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:30 PM)

I'm hopped up on my version of a Performance Enhancer, 5 Diet Cokes. Ready to Roll.

Will J (Portland, OR)

Scott, as my brother said to me....At least the Dodgers won't have to worry about him quitting on them mid-season. He'll be back just in time to get ready for the playoffs.

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:31 PM)

He'll be rested and ready. I kinda just picture Manny walking around a beach for the next month and a half.

adam(Houston)

Will kobe be suspened for game 3? He did strike oppenent above the shoulders..

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:32 PM)

I think Fisher has to be. I don't feel like the Kobe elbow was in the same area code as the Dwight Howard elbow. If it were, I think he'd be out. He'd have to be by definition. If you look at it, I just don't think it's as egrigious.

scott TROY NY [via mobile]

We got the same first name, what is the most unique nickname you have had involving your first name?

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:33 PM)

No nickname I've ever had was ever related to my first name. It was always a shortening of my last name to "Pelt", "Peezy", "Van Peezy", nothing related to Scott. Ever.

Joe (LA)

Scott, did your saying of Orio's when describing the Orioles come from somewhere?

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:35 PM)

Joe you're from LA, which I assume means you've never been to Charm City. There's a very distinctive dialect in that part of the world. If you say Oreos, you are saying Orioles the way they do in Baltimore. It's a hideous accent.

Ariel (Los Angeles, Ca)

It would be the NBA to be more lenient on their superstar players. But the Ron Artest reaction was great!

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:36 PM)

They suspended Dwight Howard, who is the most valuable player on the Magic...by a lot. And the Magic went on the road and won without him. But, I get your point. The perception is valid. Thought you hope that they would police the rules evenly.

George (Newark, NJ)

How tall are you?

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:36 PM)

6'6"

J (Ohio)

I don't have a lot of rules in life. One I do have though is I don't mess with guys who will run 17 rows into the stands to fight a group of grown adult men.

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:38 PM)

I agreed with what Charles said last night on TNT. That I liked Artest's reaction. Yeah, he's crazy. But he had to let Kobe know "you're not gonna punk me that way without some sort of reaction". Having said that, he means to much to his team to get run.

Clay (Charlotte)

Peezy, how's the golf game these days? My boss shanked a drive off a fence post and it bounced back to the fairway yesterday. Are you one of THOSE people?

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:39 PM)

No, I rope it down the sprinkler heads. Long. Honestly, I've forgotten. It's been far too long since I've been on a golf course to play.

J.B. (Dunmore, PA)

Um Scott, the chat is nearly five minutes old and Brett Favre has not been mentioned. The Bristol Suits will need to speak with you after the chat.

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:40 PM)

Well JB, you've filled our quota then haven't you? You've also filled your quota...where is Steiny??? Should I feel hurt that he's not here? Isn't this what he does all day? Steiny is now banned for 50 chats for testing negative and not being here for this.

Will J (Portland, OR)

Great thanks JB.........LOL

John (Chicago)

So, is Simmons crying somewhere right now?

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:41 PM)

I would think quite the opposite. I think all Red Sox fans are happy this is someone else's problem.

Mike (AZ)

Eddie House is a straight baller...lets be honest, even the Magic didn't see 31 coming last night!

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:42 PM)

Let me guess, you're a sparky? But you're right, he was great for them in Game 7, and he was great for them last night. They clearly will need big boy contributions from role players to survive this round and the next one.

Rick (Las Vegas)

Think Tiger will shake off a mediocre round and make a run this week?

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:44 PM)

No, he hates this golf course. He hasn't finished in the Top 10 there since he won (I don't think). For whatever reason, unlike Bay Hill, Doral, Firestone, this golf course just doesn't fit his eye.

Jonathan (Dallas, TX)

When are they gonna update your profile picture? The hair is REALLY throwing me off.

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:46 PM)

Yeah, that was a little while ago. If I didn't break out the clippers every couple of days, I could still have some moss up top. But let's be honest, my salad is hurtin. So it's easier to just take it down.

Selena Roberts (LA)

I'm digging through Manny's garbage as we speak. I will let you know for sure what he was using.

Jason Bay (Boston)

Look at me now! Look at me now!

J (Ohio)

Bald is beautiful.

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:46 PM)

True.

J.B. (Dunmore, PA)

I think the Yankees are going to send Manny a fruit basket for taking attention away from them for a while.

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:48 PM)

Opposite coasts, nothing is going to take the attention away from A-Rod.

Dallas Mavericks (Dallas, TX)

Are we going to get swept out of the NBA playoffs by the Nugs?

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:49 PM)

They'll win a game. But, Denver is the better team in this series. I am curious to hear Dirk speak on that interesting story that came out.

Hadz (Kent, OH)

Scottttttttty, I believe Phil will win more majors than Tiger this year. Thoughts?

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:51 PM)

Last time they played Bethpage, Tiger won there and Phil was close. Last time they played Hazeltine, Beem held on, but Tiger pushed him to the edge of the cliff. Woods hasn't looked razor sharp yet, and Phil is playing well. But if you're giving me Tiger, I'll let you have Phil head to head.

Bernard(Chicago)

Who was you pick to win the NBA title when the playoffs started? Has anything you've seen thus far changed your mind?

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:52 PM)

I liked the Celtics before Garnett's injury. I love the look of the Cavaliers right now, I don't know if they are going to lose a game at home. I'll take em.

Steiny - NYC

SVP! I am here. I was just at the doctor asking for the PED's that Manny was using.

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:53 PM)

You're banned 50 chats Steiny. Talk to you mid-summer. (can you imagine the pain that would cause poor Steiny, then pain of missing those chats? ) What ever you are on it, stay on it. We appreciate you.

Joe (St. Louis)

So will Madden make comeback if Favre signs?

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:55 PM)

I've said this all along about everyone. No one is retired until another season begins and he's not playing and/or broadcasting. In the case of Madden, I'm pretty sure he's off to enjoy life. He won't miss calling games as much as Favre misses playing in them.

Cosmo (anytown, USA)

When is Steiny going to cross over the virtual 4th wall and host his own chat?

J (Ohio)

VP, what are your thoughts on the kid skipping his Senior year in H.S. to go play pro ball in Europe? I know people are ripping him, but I think he would be crazy to turn down a million dollars to play for 2 years until he can try his hand at the NBA.

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:57 PM)

I hate it, because I'm a college basketball fan. And regardless of how mature his game may be, I wonder how prepared any High School JUNIOR is to be abroad. I've said this a million times, there's no 7-11's, there's no McDonald's, your friends aren't there, nothing familiar is around to make you feel comfortable. There are mercenaries in the world, but most of them are grown men. I don't care how much money they give them, it's a steep ask in the short term.

JD (Boston)

I am still waiting for Barry Sanders to return.

J.B. (Dunmore, PA)

Five minute warning, SVP.

Scott Van Pelt
  (1:58 PM)

Manny's drug was just identified. It was a women's fertility drug. I think that means I gotta go. Peter Gammons at 2:12 PM ET. Listen and watch webcam on ESPNRadio.com
