Chat with Pat Yasinskas

Brian (Salisbury, MD)

I know its only 11:30 but I have been waiting since Friday..don't play by ESPN rules let's get started now

Pat Yasinskas
  (11:52 AM)

Very well. We'll start at 11:51. Go ahead and start firing away.

Doug, Alberta Canada

Pat, really enjoy your columns, Huge Falcons fan for over 35 yrs, I cant tell you how excited I am about this team, I believe this offense with the new pieces is going to be a nightmare for most defenses in the league. I realise the defence is a work in progress but if we put up 30+ pts per game do you think we need a top 10 defense to be successful?

Pat Yasinskas
  (11:54 AM)

No, you won't need a top 10 defense. But I think this defense can become pretty good in time. In fact, it can be better than last years. A lot of those old guys were on their last league's and I think the defense overachieved last year. I think the fresh legs will help and Smith now has more guys that fit his system on D. Again, it might take a little time, but this defense can be good in the long run.

Jason (Jacksonville)

Hey Pat I say NO Julius Peppers questions unless its breaking news on the situation. Thanks

Pat Yasinskas
  (11:54 AM)

I won't argue with that.

bob...new jersey [via mobile]

why would carolina sign jake to an extension when he old and washed up. what has he eva done to warrant that. thx

Pat Yasinskas
  (11:56 AM)

Not saying I agree with it. But the people who make the decisions in Carolina want continuity at QB and were afraid blowing it up might set the team back. They'll go with the same old approach that Delhomme doesn't have to win games for them -- he just has to play not to lose games.

Carlton (Elkridge, MD)

Biggest surprises you saw at Falcons camp this week were...?

Pat Yasinskas
  (11:57 AM)

Harry Douglas. I'm telling you right now he's going to play a BIG role this year.

Carlos, Panama

Hey Pat, i'm a die hard fan of your blog! One question, do you think that Tampa should open from day 1 with Miller and both Kyle Moore and Dre Moore as their starters?

Pat Yasinskas
  (11:58 AM)

No, I think you'll still see Hovan in there at the start.

ralph(NJ)

Do the Panthers have a serious chance to win the superbowl this year?

Pat Yasinskas
  (11:58 AM)

Sure, they were 12-4 last year and have just about all their starters back.

Jarrett (Atlanta)

Hey Pat, I saw the article you wrote about Jamaal Anderson. I'm actually pretty excited to see his production go up this year. I say this because of all the moves we made defensively to get better and he doesnt want to be the weak link. I seriously see 6 sacks out of him this year. You?

Pat Yasinskas
  (11:59 AM)

It's possible. They're coaching the heck out of him and he seems to be working hard. If they can get 6 to 8 sacks out of him, I think they'd be thrilled.

Jon (new orleans)

Pat, are the saints going to ever add another true threat at running back before the season starts? The fact that they tried to trade back into the end of the first round to get Beanie Wells says they don?t believe who they have on their roster is going to cut it, and it is doubtful some undrafted free agents are the answer. Don?t you think if they don?t find someone to get those short yardage downs, it is going to be another disappointing year for the Sean Payton and Co?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:01 PM)

Do they need a true "threat"? Not sure that's the case with Pierre and Reggie already there. They need a short yardage guy really. The two rookies could be that or Mike Bell or even Heath Evans could help in that area. I don't think they have to make any desperation moves here.

Sean (Binghamton, NY)

Pat there has been some rumblings that freeman may be more ready to start then we thought... After seeig him in camp what do you think?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:03 PM)

Way too early to judge Freeman. Bucs had only a rookie minicamp. Only 6 or 8 guys out there will even be on the team in the fall. They didn't do a lot. They were basically walking through a lot of plays to get rookies familiar with the play book. Freeman looks big and strong and threw the ball well. But he wasn't in a situation where he had to make decisions and he wasn't going against a real NFL defense.

CP (Brooklyn, New York)

Based on what you saw at Falcons minicamp, Decoud or Moore at safety, Grimes, Jackson, or Owens at CB, Nicolas or Wire at LB, who starts?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:05 PM)

Nicholas at LB. CB's a tough call. I think Owens is the guy they want in the long term, but not sure he's ready right away. I'd go with Jackson right now. At safety, Moore's the guy they want and they were coaching the heck out of him. But he's a little raw right now. DeCoud looked decent and could be the short-term guy.

Ben (Tampa)

Pat, I have to hear your thoughts on Derrick Brooks. What is he going to do this year?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:06 PM)

We're into mid May and he hasn't signed anywhere. I'm thinking teams aren't lining up to sign him -- at least for a significant role. Retirement might be more of an option now.

Ben (Tampa, FL)

There is a lot of talk that Cadilac will not be a buc for to much longer. Is this accurate?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:08 PM)

No, here's the deal with Caddy. He's got no trade value. Bucs have 2 other good RBs. He'll get as healthy as he can and get back out there at some point. If he is what he was before, it's a nice bonus because they'll have three good backs. If he's not what he was before, well, it's no big deal because they're not counting on him.

Caleb (Arkansas)

Steve Smith, is he still good enough to lead the Panthers to a big season

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:09 PM)

No doubt. The guy's as good as any WR in the game.

Carlos Panama

Pat, I haven't heard a lot of Jermaine Phillips. Is he on schedule with his transition to WLB and will coach Morris start him?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:09 PM)

Yep, they're hoping he starts there. They wouldn't have moved him if they didn't think it would work.

Yoder

Pat, what do you think about Peter King ranking the Saints #24 saying their D can't win 8 games this year? Fair or Foul?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:10 PM)

Foul. On paper, Saints are as good as any team in NFC South right now.

Brian (Salisbury, MD)

And chance TB moves Graham to fullback and splits carries between Ward and Williams...please tell everybody how Cadillac will come back full strength this season the guy is a warrior.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:11 PM)

Not right off and maybe not at all. You need two good tailbacks and Graham and Ward make a nice combo. If Caddy comes back strong, then maybe you consider it. But you can't count on that and even if he does, it's probably not going to happen right from the start of the season.

Jason (Jacksonville)

Hey Pat I don't see why some people are making a big deal about the Panthers trading next years first round pick on Brown. I think that was a great pick up and with the way the rookie salary is getting the Panthers can develop 2nd rounders with not as much pressure on them almost every year if they want to.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:12 PM)

Agree. And I still think they'll be back in the first round before next year's draft. They might make Peppers play this year out, franchise him again and trade him next offseason.

james bradenton Fl

nail diggs is a good linebacker but do you see landon johnson making a strong run at overtaking his position? he did pretty good in cincinatti in his last year.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:13 PM)

Don't have my roster handy, but didn't the Panthers cut Johnson after the season? There are other young LBs in their plans. Maybe Dan Connor might be your answer.

Brian (Miami, Florida)

Pat, please channel your inner psychic; what will the breakdown of carries for the Buc RBs look like? I say Ward 17 per game, Graham about 10 (even though I think Graham is the better option).

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:14 PM)

Sounds about right. If Freeman starts, move those numbers up to 22 and 15 because they won't throw a lot.

Steve (Apex)

How big of an impact is Ron Meeks going to have as Carolina's DC? Fox always has his hand in the D, will he loosen the reins for Meeks?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:15 PM)

It's not going to change much, if at all. Fox runs the D.

Ced (Houston, TX)

What happen to Arnoux, rookie LB for the Saints? Are the Saints under the cap? Is the Saints management serious about picking up free agent Edgerin James?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:16 PM)

Arnoux ruptured his Achilles tendon. He's out all year. Saints are about $6 million under -- check my blog post from last week for exact number. I don't think there's any big push to get Edge.

ralph(NJ)

Hey pat, now im a huge Panthers fan and i wont to know do you think we should have switched to a 3-4 scheme?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:16 PM)

No, Fox is a 4-3 coach and they don't have personnel for 3-4.

KEVIN NEUNER HOUSTON

pat if you could buy a bucs jerseys whos would you get?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:17 PM)

An orange and white throwback for Doug Williams.

Brian (Salisbury, MD)

Fact or Fiction= E.J. Biggers wins the quarter CB role this year for Tampa. I heard Bates is big on him and wants a more physical bump and run type secondary. I love seeing 7th rd picks with potential!!

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:17 PM)

He's a seventh-round pick. Be happy if he makes the team.

Sean (Binghamton, NY)

Pat who do you see being the #2 WR for the Bucs? Can Calyton go back to playing like he dd in his rookieseason, knowing he has coach morris' confidence?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:18 PM)

Clayton's going to be in that role. They paid him big money for a reason.

Joe, Charlotte

What is the reason for the Bucs to so far under the salary ca? At this point there aren't any high priced free agents to go after.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:18 PM)

They're still going to lock up some more of their own guys.

James Bradenton Fl

Nope it shows he's still on the roster i think they just restructured his contract but thanks

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:19 PM)

OK, that's probably right on Landon Johnson. But I don't think they have big plans for him.

Raymond in New Orleans La [via mobile]

I've heard rumors that the saints might be interested in edgerrin james and marvin harrison is this true, and do u think the saints will have the number 1 offense this year too but with a top ten defense also.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:20 PM)

Do you really need Edge and Marvin to have the No. 1 offense. I think offense is already good. Why bring in old guys that ain't what they once were?

justin (brownsville,tx ) [via mobile]

is derrick ward gonna have a 1,000 yard season?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:21 PM)

Yes, I think so. They paid him big money and they're going to give him the carries.

Matt Lawley (Lakeland, FL)

What up P, heard you were from the Polk county. How are the Dreadnaughts gonna play this year?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:22 PM)

Actually, Pasco County, but close. Dreadknaughts are always gonna be good. But don't overlook the mighty Pasco Pirates.

chauncey (teaneck)

will John Parker Wilson make the Atlanta Falcon's roster?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:22 PM)

No, is my guess. I actually thought Shockley looked pretty good in minicamp.

Steve(charlotte, NC)

Pat, hi I am Steve. I believe Steve Smith is the best WR in the game. What are thoughts on this subject?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:23 PM)

He's at least very much in the argument. I'd put him up against anybody.

Gino (Scranton)

I think Derrick Ward is a little overrated. The Giants made him look better than he actually is.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:23 PM)

Bucs have a very good o-line. They might make him look better than he is.

Shedrick Havelock, NC

what are your thoughts on lucas, departure did he not due well covering for Godfrey. Also when do you think we should look for steve smith replacement

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:24 PM)

Lucas was getting up there in age, making a lot of money and they had Marshall waiting in the wings.

Chad (Las Vegas)

Forget Edge and Harrison who, if anybody, can the Saints still bring in on D to help them be a serious contender?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:25 PM)

Agree on forgetting Edge and Marvin. But haven't Saints already done enough on D? There's not much, if anything, left out there now.

Ryan (atlanta, ga)

Any chance the falcons pick up foote or the st. Louis lb since they need help at lb?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:27 PM)

They might not be as bad at LB as a lot of us think. Nicholas had a nice minicamp. Wire's solid and they have hopes for Robert James.

Mitch (NOLA)

In spite of a promising start to the offseason, the Saints' 2009 season seems to be starting off like 2008 with the injury to Arnoux. Why does this team consistently have so many injuries? Is it a problem with the training staff? or are thy just cursed?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:28 PM)

Curse could be part of it. Last year, I thought a lot of the injuries could be traced to training camp. I thought the Saints went too hard in camp. I hope Payton learns from that.

derrick ward tampa [via mobile]

I will rush for 1500 yards and lead bucs to a playoff birth guarentee

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:29 PM)

There you go, fantasy players.

Steven (Metairie, LA)

Pat, finish this sentence. If Dan Morgan plays all 16 games for the Saints, and the rest of the team stays healthy, the Saints will ______.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:30 PM)

Win the NFC South and at least reach NFC Championship Game. But, as always, Morgan is a big "if".

Carlos Panama

Pat, can Freeman be so good at training camp that he'll take the projected starting role away from McCown?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:30 PM)

Can it happen? Sure. Will it? Who knows?

Buck, AZ

Hey Pat, I don't see why everyone is all stoked about Meeks Taking over the D for the Panthers. Doesn't anyone remember how horrible the Colts' Defense was? The only reaqson they were any good was because of the high powered offense. I think Meeks was a horrible choice. Any thoughts?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:31 PM)

Valid point and it's not like the Panthers have made a bunch of personnel moves on a defense that wasn't good at the end of last year.

Ryan (Charlotte, NC) [via mobile]

Panther Nation misses you at the Observer...What are you thoughts on the DL situation of the Panthers? Will their DL look like swiss cheese again and will their pass rush still be non-existant? Thoughts on the rookie Everette Brown?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:32 PM)

Like Everette Brown a lot, but not sure he makes a huge difference right away. D-line's a little scary, which is kind of amazing because a few years ago, this team had three Pro Bowlers and was built around D-line. Now, it's Pep and a bunch of "guys" and maybe not even Pep.

Carlton (Elkridge, MD)

Any new news on Peria Jerry? How did Trey Lewis look in camp?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:33 PM)

Jerry's fine. Just a mild sprain. They were cautious and held him out yesterday. Trey Lewis looked pretty good and ran with the first team. If he can stay healthy, he'll be a big help.

Brian (Salisbury, MD)

Questions I need answered about TB lineup..Starting left tackle is Donald Penn? Starting LB's are Phillips, Ruud, Crowell? Other DE will be Wilkerson?, White?, Kyle Moore? who starts opposite Adams?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:34 PM)

I say White at other DE. Yes on Penn and the LBs as you had them.

Darren (Newport news, VA)

Why all the BUCS attention? Is this NFL char or crappy BUCS chat? BTW, the only jersey you should wear bearing Doug Williams's name is a Skins jersey ....

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:35 PM)

It's an NFC South chat.

Adam (Ohio state library) [via mobile]

How much does reading your chat instead of studying increase my biochem exam score?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:35 PM)

At least 10 points. Keep reading.

Bo (Ann Arbor)

Maybe I need to shorten my question. Can Reggie Bush still be a 1000/1000 yard rushing/receiving threat a la Marshall Faulk? Will the Saints give him a chance? Is it possible for him to get about 15 carries and Pierre about 12 a game?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:36 PM)

I hope this is the year Payton finally figures out how to use Bush. there still is lots of talent there.

Pat Yasinskas Jr.

Who will be the 4 guys to start for the Saints secondary opening day? I figure Harper and Greer get the SS and one corner spot..how bout the other 2?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:36 PM)

Sharper and either Jenkins or Porter.

freeman tampa bay [via mobile]

Like my man pat said I will be starter when we come back from london and will look dyno-mite

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:37 PM)

Thanks for stopping by Josh. Now, go read the play book.

Christian (Charleston, SC)

Hey Pat. Do you see Williams or Stewart at RB for Carolina getting a pretty even split of carries this year or will Stewart, the Super Soph, eventually carry a heavier part of the work load?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:38 PM)

Probably about the same as last year -- that worked pretty well.

Brian (Salisbury, MD)

Pat, you are a stud..Now tell me the order of the NFC South after 2009 with their records...I'm thinking Falcons 12-4, Bucs 10-6, Saints 9-7, Panthers 6-10

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:39 PM)

I'll make predictions in August. But I'd say you're way low on Panthers and a little high on Falcons and Bucs.

Dan (Etown, PA)

You think there may be a sophomore slump for Ryan now that there is some tape on him and D's will be a little more ready?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:40 PM)

No sophomore slump on Ryan -- go back and read my blog item from Friday for my reasons why.

Nick (Tampa)

Hey Pat, will Elbert Mack or another younger CB on Tampa's roster get a chance to compete for a starting job with Barber or is Ronde pretty much the defacto starter opposite Talib?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:40 PM)

Mack's got a real shot. At worst, he'll open the season as the nickel.

Brad (Atlanta)

Hey Pat, love the chats...quick clarification on what you've said earlier. When you say coaches have been "coaching a player up", what exactly do you mean by that? Are they paying special attention to him...helping with technique?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:41 PM)

Yes, spending a lot of time with him. Falcons coaches were spending a lot of time with Moore and Owens between plays. I mean a real noticable amount of time with them.

Shedrick Havelock, NC

Do you think Fox is hands on because he is responsible for D if Meeks shows improvement will he be hands off somewhat. like with the offense.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:41 PM)

I don't see Fox changing. He's a creature of habit.

Buck,AZ.

Hey Pat a couple years ago when Bill Cowher was retiring there was talk of him wanting to coach the panthers to stay close to home in NC. With Fox's inability to put together back to back seasons is there any hope that maybe he's still holding out for the opportunity?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:42 PM)

Let's give Fox this season before we even start that talk. And I don't think Cowher's got his eyes on that job, despite all the speculation to the contrary. I think there are other jobs he'd prefer.

Jason: Birmingham, AL

Did you ever find out which game the Bucs will be wearing the throwback creamsicles?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:43 PM)

Not yet. They haven't decided or at least haven't announced it.

William

Brian, the NFC South's standings will be as follow: Saints 13-3 Falcons 10-6 Panthers 9-7 Bucs 6-10 Book em Dano!

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:43 PM)

Just sharing another opinion. I'll wait until August for picks.

Sharell (Raleigh, NC)

Pat, sorry but the Panthers have the toughest schedule in the NFC South. Do you think that they over achieved last year? I think the Panthers regress. The running game made Delhomme look good last year. He was terible against the Raiders and the Lions. I repeat, the Raiders and the Lions.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:44 PM)

Valid point. And you can say the defense wasn't very good at the end of last season and hasn't made a lot of moves to improve.

Carlos Panama

Hey Pat, what are your thoughts on Xavier Fulton? Is he a project or a serious contender to taking the job away from Penn, since Penn was exploring his options in FA?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:45 PM)

Sorry, don't know enough on Fulton yet to give you a fair answer. Penn's a solid player. He'll start this year.

Brian (Salisbury, MD)

Ok Pat your the expert, but don't let your Charlotte bias take over. Delhomme suffered the equivalent of a UFC highlight reel knockout in his home divisional playoff game. At the "most important position in sports" I don't want an average, tommy john repaired, past his prime QB with no backup pushing him with competition

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:46 PM)

No bias here. I don't disagree with your assessment on the QB situation. But the fact is Fox is sticking with Jake and it doesn't matter that we all disagree with that. As Fox says, "It is what it is".

XXX

Pat, will Grant and Smith step up for the Saints this year and give a decent pass rush?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:47 PM)

Saints are certainly hoping that and it's Gregg Williams' job to get these guys to reach full potential.

Jaymadd Atlanta, GA

Does it help to submit ? before the chat

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:48 PM)

Not really. Questions come in very quickly and I honestly don't even get to see them all. You can send questions to my mailbag over on NFC South blog. I've got more time to read all of them.

Chad (Las Vegas)

Fox, sly as or crazy as?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:48 PM)

Overall, the guy's got a good record. Can't argue with that.

Adrian (Atlanta, GA)

Hey Pat, Here's an idea: Saints pick up Tinoisamoa who was just released from the Rams to cover for Arnaux's injury. Good or bad idea?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:49 PM)

Makes sense.

Matt (Atlanta)

Hey Pat, what is going on with Chris Houston in Atl? Is he just a stop gap for the falcons, or do they have a real plan for him in the future?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:50 PM)

Might be just a stop gap. Falcons need a true No. 1 CB, but you only get that in first round, so they'll have to wait until next year.

Great Muta

Pat, I feel like Marques Colston is getting overlooked. After that hand injury last year he never was really 100%. Think he'll have a big year this year?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:51 PM)

Yes, I don't think he was ever truly healthy, although he did come on some at the end. I expect a big year.

john vella (dallas, tx)

are Saints fans in for another year of listening to benson threaten to take his toys and go play elsewhere? it seems like every year there is talk of how "out-dated" the Super Dome has become.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:51 PM)

No, Saints just agreed to a lease extension with Superdome. You won't have to hear that for a while.

Ryan (Charlotte, NC) [via mobile]

Williams + Stewart = two 1,000 yard rushers for the Panthers this season? Stewart was only 160 or so yards away from 1,000 last season.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:52 PM)

Yeah, entirely possible.

M Ryan's Momma (BEAST Town)

Ryan WILL have a slump - Falcons are way overrated

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:52 PM)

I strongly disagree.

Chad (Las Vegas)

You've been to the NFL game in London. Do you really think they deserve a Super Bowl?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:53 PM)

Yeah, I think Goodell wants it and it's inevitable. Some reports say 2014. I think more like around 2020, but I think it will definitely happen.

Jaymadd, Atlanta GA

Falcons going to win the division after you say that offense in mini-camp, I know you cant say a definite yes, but i saw you out there, your were in awe, J/k didnt see you but the Offense is going to be in the top 5

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:54 PM)

No doubt, offense looks great. You should have stopped by and said hi.

Broc (Boulder, CO)

Did you get a good look at Sidbury in minicamp? If so, what are your thoughts...does he have the potential to make an impact?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:54 PM)

Yes, watched him some. Think he's going to be a player. Situational pass rusher to start with and can grow into starter down the road.

J Peppers (NC)

What chance I actually come to training camp? Am i with Carolina this year or another team? I need more money d00d!

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:55 PM)

My guess is you skip Spartanburg all together and come in a few days before start of regular season.

Matt

Pat, nice work from Falcons minicamp...when are you going to Metarie? Looking forward to an in-depth look at the Saints.

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:56 PM)

Not sure yet, but hoping to do some Saints from their June workout. I will definitely be there for a training camp stop.

Hanson ( A-ville )

Hey Pat. Big ATL fan here. cant believe i got a Brooking jersey online for 13 dollars! How has Curtis Lofton done so far this season in camp? Can he take control of this defense and be a future defensive mvp?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:56 PM)

Yep, they have big plays for Curtis. He'll be an every-down guy now and is expected to be leader of the D. I think he's ready for it.

Brian (Salisbury, MD)

Out of the four teams in our division which two have the biggest rivalry? Which two teams do you get the sense that they really get hyped up for their twice a year matchup?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:57 PM)

Carolina and Tampa Bay. But there's room for growth on all rivalry fronts now that everybody in NFC South is at least decent.

Yoder

Pat it's prediction time...Barcelona or Man Utd in the Champions League Final?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:58 PM)

If you're asking me about soccer, you've come to the WRONG place. Two more questions before our time is up.

Jaymadd, Atl GA

What are your thought on the QB battle for the 2nd and 3rd string spots involving Shockley, Wilson, Redman

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:59 PM)

Redman No. 2 and Shockley No. 3. Wilson could end up on practice squad.

Chad (Las Vegas)

When will they announce that New Orleans gets the 2013 SB?

Pat Yasinskas
  (12:59 PM)

League meeting is next week in Fort Lauderdale. Think the decision is supposed to come Tuesday or Wednesday.

Brian (Salisbury, MD)

Now I will stop being a thorn in your side. I'm stuck in NFC South limbo where I live and have nobody (who cares) to answer all my questions...for that I say Thank You your hard work is TRULY appreciated.

Pat Yasinskas
  (1:01 PM)

Cool. Thank you all for your passion about the NFC South. Time for me to run. I anticipate us going back to regular Friday chat schedule later this week. But I'll let you know for sure on the blog as soon as I know for sure. Thanks again.

Phil (Charlottesville)

Pat, your comment on the Panthers being able to franchise Peppers again isn't accurate. You can't franchise a player two years in a row.

Pat Yasinskas
  (1:01 PM)

Yes, you can.
