As Diego Sanchez would say, Yes! Yes! Yes! Time for another MMA Live chat here at espn.com. Thanks for stopping by. Let's break down UFC 98 and anything else you ladies want to discuss. Here goes...
Welcome to the Machida Era!
Indeed. Total domination is an understatement.
Who do u think would pose the most difficult challenge to Machida? I think the best approach would b to try keeping him on the mat. Do you agree?
Certainly getting Machida to the canvas would be a priority. Not sure there is anyone at 205 right now that could take him. Some say Jon Jones. Perhaps in 2011 or so, but not now.
Do you think the ufc will have its own network someday
That's an interesting question. I think b/c the UFC has forged such a great relationship with Spike, there may not be a need to have its own network. They don't have to deal with a lot of headaches associated with having their own network. But you bring up an intriguing concept.
With so many changes coming to MMA and so many states regulating the sport do you think there will ever be a time when there is a unified nation-wide set of rules and regulations? Thanks!
Hi Samantha. I don't think you will ever have complete global participation (i.e. Japan). But right now, all of the major U.S. promoters stage their fights under the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts.
What's your take on Mousasi refusing to fight at 185 and demanding a catchweight against Vitor??
Mousasi said 3-4 months ago that he wouldn't ever go back down to 185, so I'm not the least bit surprised. Hopefully they can come to terms on a catch weight. What a fight it is on paper. The early lean is towards...Mousasi.
What did you make of the Yamamoto's defeat? And of Dream 9 in general?
Brad, so many headlines came out of DREAM.9, it will be hard to fit it all into MMA Live tomorrow. I thought Kid Yamamoto won the second round, and thought the fight was very tough to score overall. Great W for Joe Warren, and Kid will be back. Also came away very impressed with Tatsuya Kawajiri. Canseco's mere presence was vomit-inducing.
Unfortunately, perhaps the only guy who can beat Machida is the one guy who won't fight him...Anderson Silva.
You may be right, Marc.
Does the winner of Kongo/Velasquez get the next title shot? Or does Carwin get involved somehow? Who knew the Heavyweights would be one of the most stacked divisions?? 2 years ago it was a joke.
It is amazing what a facelift the UFC heavyweight division has undergone. I think if Kongo wins, he has all but been guaranteed an immediate title shot. If Velasquez wins, Carwin could get the nod.
What do you think about Sokoudjou's actions at the end of his fight? Heat of the moment or intentional?
Certainly intentional, but I do think it was a by-product of his adrenaline. The announcers mentioned how fired up he was even before the fight. But still, no excuse for throwing 5-6 punches after the referee had intervened. At one point, Sokoudjou was literally stepping around the ref to try to throw another punch. What a strange moment.
ANIK! First, Nate (MN), hope you had as much fun as john and I did. Boy, Frankie edgar is some "big-game" fighter, huh?
A lot of our MMA Live chatters were out in Vegas for 98. Solid. Definitely a big night for Frankie Edgar, although I'm not sure he's on the fast track to a title shot just yet.
will machida and rampage be the TUF season 10 coaches?
It looks that way, but nothing has been officially confirmed. That would mean an awfully long layoff for both dudes.
How about a little love for Brock Larson? Do you think that for any WW to get a shot at GSP at this point they have to go through Jon Fitch?
Love for Larson. There it is. I do think Fitch is still a factor at 170, but a guy like Martin Kampmann could conceivably get a title shot without going through Fitch. A lot of it has to do with the calendar, and of course the GSP-Alves result.
Do you think Rampage will bring back his old slamming and wrestling style back for Machida instead of trying to stay on his feet with him?
He had better do something. Can't wait to see how big a favorite Vegas will make Machida this time around.
What fight are you most looking forward to at UFC 99? I'm interested to see what Caol Uno can do in his second Octagon stint against The King. Seems like Spencer Fisher is always involved in FOTN candidates.
Intrigued by that fight, but more so by the Kongo-Velasquez tilt. Tough to pick a winner there.
Do you agree with those who think that Rua may have the best shot against Machida?
Not necessarily. He'd be one of 4-5 names I would mention, but the best shot? Nah.
Were you as disappointed as I for the main event for dream 9?
Which fight are you referencing? I was not at all disappointed in the Kawajiri-Cavalcante fight. There wasn't a finish in large part b/c of the respect both guys have for one another.
Speaking of the Edgar/Sherk fight, why in the world did Shrek not try to take that fight to the ground until the third round? Keeping it standing was virtually the only chance Edgar had of winning, and Sherk played right into his hands!
Totally agree. Don't have an explanation.
Can Cro-Cop make it back towards the top of the Heavyweight division?
I think Mousasi has to be considered the favorite to beat either Anderson or Machida. He is so explosive and good on the ground. Your thoughts Jon?
I think that's a little bit of a stretch. You won't find a bigger Mousasi fan than me (other than you, I guess), but to say he would be favored to beat Silva and/or Machida is a stretch. Not saying he couldn't do it, but I doubt he'd be favored to do so.
So Frank Mir now does commericals for Ecko Red, joining the the ranks of such esteemed "artists" like Vanessa Hudgens and JoJo. Does this make him a sell-out or a marketing genius?
Tremendous stuff out of D'Arcy right out of the gate! Is it embarrasing that I don't know who Vanessa Hudgens is? Mir = marketable.
Is a superfight between GSP/Silva now a thing of the past or if both fighters take care of their opponents will this fight be inevitable?
I still expect it to happen, absolutely. I just can't give you a timeframe. But, as long as both fighters maintain their winning streaks, I do think it's an eventuality.
Thoughts on the underwhelming Matt Hughes/Matt Serra fight. Does Hughes really think he can compete against an upper lever fighter? No way he faces GSP or Alves again. Right?
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I wouldn't mind seeing Hughes in a retirement fight of some kind. But I think his days of competing against the best at 170 are behind him.
Anik, you don't know who Vanessa Hudgens? Geez, man. You need to catch up on your US Weekly.
Hahaha...I do read US Weekly and People. Just not enough, apparently. Been spending too much time reading MMA stuff.
In that ecko commercial mentioned by D'Arcy Mir says that only 10 people in the world on any given night can beat him. Do think he includes Brock in there?
Yes I do. Mir may not show it, but he respects Lesnar a ton. Even if he wouldn't admit it now, he was in awe of Brock's power at UFC 81.
What is your opinion on Bill Simmons?
I interviewed him several times on my old radio show, 'The Diehards', in Boston. Very talented guy. A visionary with a great entrepreneurial spirit. Wish I had more free time to read his stuff.
Why all the hate for the Hughes/Serra fight? Hughes was clearly hurt in that first round, did everything he could to survive and then had a typical Hughes performance in rounds 2 and 3. What about Serra at 155?
Still not convinced Serra will dip to 155, but it's a possibility. As for Hughes-Serra, you make some valid points. That doesn't mean I was entertained.
Hey Jon, thanks for the chat. I was wondering if MMA Live will be in Phili for UFC 101. Also what do you see next for Rashad. Do you see a rematch with Griffin vs Evans for the next contendor after Rampage or do you think there is someone else? Thanks
Flights aren't booked yet, but I would be shocked if MMA Live wasn't at UFC 101 to do live shows and support the Flo. I think there are plenty of fights/opponents for Rashad at 205.
Have you played UFC 09 yet at a friend's house or something? BJ Penn is nasty in the game. Who do you like in UFC 101 main event?
I actually sucked it up and bought UFC 2009: Undisputed. My girlfriend destroyed me four straight fights, and I may never play again. As for a pick for the UFC 101 main event, one of my dear friends is fighting, so I ain't gonna pick against him. I actually do think Kenny will win the belt that night.
Come on Anik, you can do better than "I think there are plenty of fights/opponents for Rashad at 205." Who would YOU like to see him fight next?
Shogun Rua or Luis Cane. Or maybe even Krzysztof Soszynski. I'm very high on The Polish Experiment. He's a very good fighter, and would have a good chance against Evans.
Jon, I expected Rashad to come out with a better gameplan on Saturday... Greg Jackson went down a peg or two IMO! WAR KenFlo!
I agree, Geno. Rashad said all the right things leading up to the fight, but didn't execute.
Hey Jon, Following up on a question I had sent you a couple of weeks ago. Any word on Kid/Belfort to the UFC? And after the last couple of days, do you think either might have hit a hitch (Kid's loss and Belfort-Mousasi)?
I don't think Yamamoto's loss hurts his status much at 145. He hadn't fought in 500+ days and should still be able to fight for whom he chooses. As for Belfort, it looks more and more as though he will stay with Affliction, at least for his next fight.
Liddell vs Ortiz: the Finale! Does this work or am I just living in the past?
Ortiz's days in the Octagon are done. And I don't have much interest in seeing it again. I would favor Tito to beat the '09 version of Chuck Liddell.
What do you make of Arlovski taking an MMA fight 3 weeks before his boxing debut? Rogers is a tough opponent, how can he compete that quickly? I thought the boxing match was important to him.
You make some good points, Billy. I think Rogers will be a tough test for AA and might even pull it off. It remains to be seen if Arlovski will even be medically cleared for that boxing debut three weeks later. As stated, I expect Rogers to have something to say about that.
Ortiz will never think he is ready to retire...just like Shamrock. Ironic.
True, but I think Ortiz still has something left. His loss to Machida, in which he was dominated early but nearly pulled off a triangle late, looks better today than it did last week.
How much of a challenge will it be for Machida to coach The Ultimate fighter?
The language barrier will be tough. Machida's English isn't nearly as polished as Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira's, and they had to sub-title Big Nog throughout.
How did Hughes/Serra get "fight of the night" bonus? Sherk/Edgar was far more entertaining.
Oftentimes the UFC Fight of the Night isn't given to the best fight. Rather, it is used to reward fighters, or given to a competitive fight that goes the distance. I can think of 3-4 fights that deserved that distinction over Hughes-Serra.
Do you think the next show will be Affliction's last? If it is, I'm gonna miss them. This next card seems to be very strong so far. I'm gonna miss those cards.
Their cards are stacked, but they happen so infrequently. I am a little surprised you are such a big Affliction fan. They have zero momentum, staging cards once or twice a year.
Hey Jon, do you get as frustrated as I do watching Drew McFedries? The guy has REDICULOUS power and footwork but he can't move up in the rankings because he has 0 ground game.
It would be nice to see more versatility from Drew, yes. But that power is off the chain.
After watching a leaner sap get embarassed this week by a much smaller opponent, do you think he'll pose any real threat to Lashley?
Lashley had better mop the canvas with Sapp after that pathetic performance.
Has Kenny started his preparation for the big fight, and will he be leaving the show soon like the last few times? Any inside information on some special guest to take his place?
After tomorrow's show, Kenny will be taking a hiatus from MMA Live until our coverage of UFC 100. Several top names will be filling in, including Pat Miletich and Miguel Torres. Also expect to have Nogueira in Bristol at some point. I'm in touch with his people.
A follow up on Belfort if I may? There is no chance of him and Mousasi @ Affliction III right? Am I selfish to think Mousasi could make 185 right now?
I still think it could happen, and you would know just as well as I. That said, I really don't think Mousasi has any intention of even attempting to cut down to 185.
Where can we see the Affliction fight?
PPV on August 1st.
Are you ready to make a prediction on who makes it to the Finale of the Ultimate Fighter?
I am all caught up (finally!), but still not ready to predict finalists. Guys I like: Ross Pearson and DeMarques Johnson.
Seriousll can we skip UFC99? Is anyone gonna pay $45 for that when the Strikeforce card is stacked and UFC 100 around the corner.
There are legions of UFC fans worldwide that pay for any and all PPVs. Upon further review, the card is better than I thought. But not great overall, and I likely wouldn't shell out the dough if it wasn't my job.
With the UFC announcing an October card in LA, is there any news of future events in different cities, like Boston for example?
Still no legislative movement in Boston, but if it happens soon, I'm told the UFC has targeted November. Glad to see the top dog heading back to California.
Does a Brock Larson vs. Martin Kampmann sound good to you?
Yup it does, Chris.
Any ideas on who Shogun might have next? I seriously think that if he keeps his mind and training right that in 2-3 fights he is the only guy in the LH division to beat Machida
I thought Luis Cane would be the guy, especially b/c they are on the same calendar after competing at UFC 97. But perhaps they want to retain both Cane and Rua as title contenders. If they fight in an eliminator, one guy is removed from the title picture.
New York votes June 3.
Yeah, but that vote isn't the be all and end all. That's just to get it through the first committee. In 2008, the bill didn't get past that initial vote. McNeil says June 22nd is the real date of note.
Can you make sure Bonner beats Coleman so we can see the Liddell/Coleman lose retires fight?
I hear ya, man. I really think Bonnar-Liddell is a fight worth making. Rest assured, Stephan will get through Coleman. He thinks his UFC future may depend on it.
Glad to hear you finally caught up on Ultimate Fighter. Is it just me, or has this season really shown what a complete tool Bisping is?? Any respect I had for him is gone.
I'll admit, Bisping has turned me off. Constantly on the attack with the American fighters. I understand why he does it (to motivate his guys), but he comes across as arrogant and classless. On the flip side, Hendo is the damn man.
Did you give your thoughts on Fedor vs. Barnett already?
Not yet. I think it's the best fight you could put together involving Fedor. Very excited to see if Barnett can solve the puzzle.
OH JONNY!! What a weekend! I did enjoy myself Rob!! I thought the whole card was great however someone who no one seems to be talking about is "The Polish Exierement" He looked impressive once again, I'd like to see him face someone like Jardine....Your thoughts?
Why not? Just give Soszynski a big-name opponent. He has earned it.
Me and Molly Qerim, make it happen my friend.
Haha. Get in line.
Levine was getting seriously booed at 98. There was no mention of the reason. I assume it was a result of the Nover fight?
Yes, Jonathan. It's been a forgettable few months for Yves Lavigne (His refusal to stop Sell-Brown earlier was the most glaring).
Hey Jonny, Faber vs. Brown right around the corner. You think Faber gets the title back?
No, I don't.
Krzysztof Soszynski is a savage. I don't think I've seen a fighter in back to back PPV's in years. His star is rising big time!!!
Totally agree! Two UFC wins in 35 days. Soszynski may take over this chat soon, a la Smokin' Joe Villasenor.
Bisping might be a tool, but I find myself rooting for the guys on team UK much more than team US. With a few exceptions, the US guys seem like such primadonnas.
I will admit to rooting for a few of the Brits. A classy bunch. Too bad their coach hasn't followed suit. Plus, for Bisping to miss Dean Amasinger's fight? Joke.
I'd like to see Soszynski have a go at Bader, but Bader is hurt, right?
Yes Bader is out with a knee.
Jon, I was unfortunately unable to get a ticket to UFC 101 due to poor internet connection at work, and I am not yet ready to sell a kidney and buy on the secondary market. Is there any way I can get a one day internship with MMA live (assuming you go) and could be snuck in? I could give a local perspective on the fights if that is worth anything.
Sorry to hear that, Cory. I wish we could get you in the building. I actually bought a pair of tickets for my twin bro and girlfriend. Not cheap.
Why does "The Polish experiment" hate vowels?
No kidding. I take pride in spelling it right 95% of the time here in the chat.
Assuming Marucs Davis beats Dan Hardy, which my money is on he will. Davis vs. Hughes will that get anyone excited, or what would be next for Davis?
Well, that would be a bump up to 185 for Davis, who competes at welterweight. I think the Mike Swick-Ben Saunders winner could face the Davis-Hardy winner. I know plenty of people who would sign up to see Davis-Swick again.
Doesn't Bader have 2 knees?
Smart a**. Appreciate the humor (attempt).
"Yes Bader is out with a knee" - You sound like Al Michaels. Every time a player gets hurt he goes "Player X is out with an ankle". LOL
I got news for you guys- It ain't just me and Al Michaels. You hear it all the time when broadcasters reference sports injuries. Wow, I struck a nerve.
Jon, do you think the UFC could be facing a major dilemma in regards to 3 and possibly 4 of their weight classes having dominant champions with no real challengers? Although he just won the belt, I can't see anyone beating Machida. We all know about Anderson Silva, and if GSP gets past Alves, there are really 3 weight divisions with supremely dominant champions. Your thoughts?
The UFC is such a powerhouse, Joe, and depth is never really an issue. Even though no one is giving Rampage a chance, I still think the fight has some intrigue. And, as you know, anyone can have a flat night and lose the title. I am a huge Machida fan, but I don't expect him to stay undefeated forever. And I never think dominance/dominant champions is a problem.
Is Matt Hughes in for a big payday?
He just got one at UFC 98.
If Penn beats Florian, you could add him to the list of dominant champions.
Yes, you could. But that's a huge if, right? Haha.
When it comes down to it will Machida fight Anderson Silva... What's the deal they train together, same manager??
I really don't think it's gonna happen, but Dana White does, and he's a smarter man than I.
Was that DeMarcus Johnson from TUF 9 cornering Matt Hughes at UFC 98?
He was in his corner, yes.
If Florian loses I'm not watching MMA anymore... No way he should lose...
Sorry. Talking about for a new contract?
Possibly. Still unclear what Hughes' intentions are. Does he want a one-fight deal? Will he move up to 185? Remains to be seen. If he re-signs with the UFC, I'd imagine his salary will be similar to what it is now.
What up Jon? I do think my boy Rampage will not go into the fight with Machida scared the way Rashard did! Your thoughts?
Now that I agree with, Jordan. Rampage will not be intimidated, and hopefully he relishes the role of underdog. I think everyone should be excited for the fight.
I'm confused Jon, why would Davis need to go to 185 to fight Hughes? Did Hughes say that he wanted to move up to 185?
That was my mistake- going on 90 minutes of sleep. They are both welterweights. And, last I checked, Hughes was one of the best at 170 of all time. My mistake, and thanks for catching it.
Just to clear it up for everyone....it is RASHAD....not RASHARD!
Thank you. RASHARD Lewis, Orlando Magic. RASHAD Evans, UFC fighter.
Kudos for the awesome show ...not sucking up haha just stating a fact
Thanks, Clyde. We appreciate the love.
Soszynski is a BIG 205! Also care to flip your over/under on machida from last week? Maybe not undefeated forever(people make rash statements after big wins) But still champ may 2010?
I forget what my answer was last week. I do expect Machida will have his belt in May of 2010, but not in May of 2011.
Matt Serra wont drop to 155 because he loves pasta too much? What kind of dedication is that? Seems like a joke to me.
I wouldn't come down too hard on Hughes. It's not as though he is smack-dab in the middle of his prime. Probably only has 1-2 fights left, if that.
Bradley, obviously didn't see the great shape Serra was in.
You get any inside scoop on Dana White's Chat a couple weeks ago. 15 minutes - Lame. 1/3 of the questions about a damn video game. He did address some tough issues, but never answered my questions about Roger Huerta.
Didn't catch Dana's chat. Sorry. There is some buzz that Roger Huerta could fight Frankie Edgar in what would be Huerta's final contracted UFC fight. I will try to get some better, more concrete information on El Matador by next week.
Huerta vs. Sherk. What do you think?
A possibility for sure. Good call.
My 9 month old son loves it when I watch mma. He is sits there and doesn't say a word. It is so cool that mma calms him down. No question, just a statement.
...and worthy of being posted. I like your kid.
If Affliction folds after this event, and some have anticipated it will, what happenes to Fedor? UFC, Strikeforce or Dream?
I would lean towards DREAM.
Won't it be tough for Machida to coach on TUF? Aside from the language barrier his strengths don't really translate to other fighters.
I think any developmental fighter would relish the opportunity to train with Machida.
Hey what's up with that head-butt that Serra landed on Hughes, I know it's unintentional but what if that ended the fight?
Well, thankfully it didn't. That would've been disastrous.
How about Frankie Edgar Jon? Is Sherk done?
Thrilled for Edgar. Sherk needs to get back to wrestling, or call it quits. His fight record is phenomenal, but he doesn't seem to have much power at all.
I think Rampage/Machida will be a big fight, I'm jacked for it already & I do think Rampage will relish in the underdog role especially after what he's learned from the Pride days. Can we start a petition for MMA Live to broadcast on espn2?
Start the petition! I'll sign, and so will Florian.
Jonny what was your fight of the last week? Any production. And god did Conseco look pathetic! I think big rob from jersey could take CHOI!!
Canseco was a disgrace. He's so unpopular he couldn't find a single person to be in his corner, other than his girlfriend. Best fight of the last week? Machida-Evans. But I thought the DREAM.9 card had more storylines/controversy.
I think people are really underestimating Frankie's win over Sherk. Sherk has lost to 3 people in his entire career, GSP, BJ Penn, and Matt Hughes. It was a terrible game plan by Sherk, but Edgar really showed some impressive boxing. Wouldn't mind seeing him take on the winner of Sanchez/Guida...
Couldn't have put it better.
Hughes isnt a big welterweight. Why would he consider moving up? Hughes for Karo?
He would only move up for a particular match-up. What that is, I don't know.
Please send my thanks to Franklin for him showing love for Frankie after his fight - - Jersey has to stick together!!! LOL
You gotta answer this one! On January 1, 2010 who is the champion in each of the 5 weight classes in the UFC? MMA Live is the Manny Pacquiao to Inside MMA's Oscar De La Hoya!
On Jan. 1, 2010, the UFC champions will be as follows: 155- Kenny Florian 170- GSP 185- Anderson Silva 205-Lyoto Machida Heavy- Chieck Kongo (had to go out on one limb)
MACHIDA DRINKS HIS OWN URINE, HOW HARDOCRE IS THAT...THATS WHY HE IS GONNA BE CHAMP FOR A LONG TIME..LOL
I started doing the same thing immediately following UFC 98. And my MMA Live performance this week should reflect that.
Nowhere to be found this week. The streak ends here.
Have to say this. Joe (St. Louis, MO) is knocking it out of the park with every single post today.
It's been a good day for Joe in St. Louis. He's had several weeks off to prepare.
There is one million ants to every human in the world
Ken in Pittsburgh saves the day.
Have you gotten any indication that UFC 100 might be THE event where ESPN starts giving the sport legitimate coverage on their shows and everything?
Not necessarily, Ryan. But I do expect a major MMA Live presence at 100, and hopefully some of our hits make their way to SportsCenter, First Take, etc.
I gotta try again. Are you interested in seeing Paulo Filho against Melvin Manhoef?
Tons of questions today, guys. Sorry if I don't get to yours. I like Manhoef in the fight. Am also interested to see how Filho bounces back from that bizarre loss to Chael Sonnen.
Wow, picking Kongo in 2010. I've heard you say a few times before that you wouldn't be susprised if Brock Lesnar stepped away from MMA early in his career. Did you really mean that early? Because if you averaging out the number of fights he has had, he will only have had to defend his title once by 2010. lol
I don't expect Brock to stick around all that long. He doesn't need the money, and already has won the belt he so coveted. I do think Lesnar gets by Frank Mir, and could defend for some time. I was trying to go out on a limb with Kongo, but also think Chieck has a great chance against Lesnar, or Mir for that matter. Interested to see what Velasquez does v. Kongo.
Jon, I was very dissaponted in the NC call in the Mayhem Miller fight. I know he had an illegal kick but the cut came after right? If so why the NC?
The cut to Jacare's forehead was a direct result of the illegal kick, Kev.
Do you think Mir could be TOO confident going into UFC 100? I know all fighters should be confident, but I think he might be taking Brock too lightly.
Jeff, trust me when I tell you Mir has all the respect in the world for Lesnar. Mir was in Bristol shortly after beating Brock, and he raved about Lesnar's power and presence.
Scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate Ufc 98? Dream 9?
UFC 98: 7 DREAM.9: 8
I think you're showing too much faith in a guy, Kongo, who was too afraid to strike and got outwrestled by Heath Herring. Kongo is fool's gold ? still living off his Cro Cop win.
I respect your opinion. Some have also argued that Kongo ducked Lesnar when he had a chance to fight him.
Bravo for going out on limb not making all your picks vanilla for the UFC champs at the start of 2010. Do you think Anderson Silva defends at 185 before year's end?
Thanks, Charlie. I think Silva will either defend at 185 in December, or face GSP. Much depends on the results at UFC 100 and 101.
Matt Serra should give up the pasta and fight at 155
Mine said that yesterday.
Snapple facts: A Goldfish's attention span is three seconds
Jon, how are the Vegas lines read in fighting? Weak question I know, but its like Chinesee to me.
Here is an example: Lyoto Machida was -200 and Rashad Evans +165 in their fight at UFC 98. It's all based upon $100.00. So, you would need to bet $200 on Machida to win $100, whereas a $100 bet on Rashad would yield $165.00. Hope that makes sense, and hope I keep my job with all the gambling primers.
how come you never see any interviews with brock lesnar but alot with frank mir? is it because mir is a better smack talker? who you got in the rematch?
Brock is isolated. The UFC would love for him to be more in the public eye, but that's just not Brock. I like Lesnar in the rematch. Please don't relay that to my man Mir.
Jon, how about Highes finding Hendo? Two of the greatest wrestlers in MMA history would make it enticing.
Sort of interesting. Hendo has a size advantage that could be somewhat neutralized if they fought at 185.
So if you are picking Silva as the MW champ in 2010, that means you have him losing to Forrest, right? Because if he beats Forrest, wont he be staying at 205?
No, I like Silva to beat Griffin, and then return to 185.
When i'm in the studio next Jon, you are getting submitted...
I'm rooting for you, Frank. Trust me.
Hey Jon I'm hopefully getting floor seats for the showtime event in Seattle coming up with your boy "smokin joe" any chance you'll attend?
Unfortunately, I have a Bellator show that weekend and am unable to attend. Enjoy the great seats!
Now I understand those lines. Just to be sure. If I had put 200 on Machida I would get my own 200 plus 100, right? Otherwise it would be stupid to put money on him.
Correct. You'd get $300 back.
Alright, folks. I gotta run. Heading to Monroe, Louisiana after MMA Live tomorrow for Bellator IX. If you're in the area, tickets are cheap and still available. I will be on twitter (Jon_Anik) posting updates all weekend long. Enjoy MMA Live #55 tomorrow, and we'll chat again next week. McNeil will be in the house. Until then, be well. -JA
