Chat with Paul Kuharsky

Paul Kuharsky
  (10:56 AM)

Well good morning. Thanks for adjusting to the time change. Look for a column in a couple hours offering my five-point plan for how VY can try to rehab his career. I head for Indy this afternoon. Chatter up...

Tyler (Murfreesboro, TN)

Am I the only one getting sick of the wasted ink and air spent on Vince Young? How many other backup quarterbacks cause this much controversy? I guess when its the offseason, you run with what you got, but for real, I'm tired of him already and its not even training camp...

Paul Kuharsky
  (10:57 AM)

He's a guy people are interested in, and he said something newsworthy. So it goes. I'm not sitting around wishing for chances to write about him, believe me.

Peyton Manning (confused)

PK, you usually chat at 3 eastern but now it's 11 eastern. You didn't tell me and I really feel left out. You just don't communicate with me the way you should.

Paul Kuharsky
  (10:58 AM)

I posted a blog entry on the change when I knew about it earlier this week and again this morning. Share your cell and email and I will communicate better.

Mad Mike (Houston)

Paul: I am on the road this week, so i will have to submit my question early. It is in regard to Chris Brown and I think you may be well qualified to answer since you covered his time in Nashville. It appears as though our coaching staff is couting on him to be the second back to Slaton. Now we know Brown has talent, but he cannot stay on the field. My question is in your opinion is Chris Brown injury prone in the way of just bad luck or is it every hangnail is magnfied and he had to be 110% to be ready to play. Based on his talent 10-12 touches per game could really help us, but if we are counting on someone who doesn't have the stomach for the grind we are headed in the wrong direction. Thanks.......MM

Paul Kuharsky
  (10:59 AM)

He's not going to give you 16 games. You have to have an alternative ready and consider him a bonus, in my opinion.

Larry (Charlotte,NC)

Would it shock you if the Colts made it to the Super Bowl?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:00 AM)

Nope.

Drew (Bloomington, IN)

Hey Paul, do you think that with the depth now behind Joseph Addai (Donald Brown in the draft and Mike Hart coming back from injury), the Colts' rush offense can make significant improvements from last season?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:00 AM)

I do. I think the offensive line, not the backs, are the question mark. Is Ugoh tough enough? If Mudd's not there, will they come together like usual?

Larry (Charlotte,NC)

How do u like this trade- Julius Peppers to Tennessee for Vince Young and Javon Kearse?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:01 AM)

Ridiculous. Why would the Panthers accept so little for a stud?

JB (TX)

Can we all just agree that we really won't know anything about VY's alleged progress unless he actually plays meaningful snaps this fall? Fisher made the best point, saying every backup should want to start. He could have chose his words better, but I agree with Fisher that its a non issue.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:01 AM)

It's a non issue that the guy can't keep his story straight for two consecutive months?

Chad (Houston)

Will Brian Cushing be asked to rush the passer, or is he more of a cover LB and run support guy?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:02 AM)

I think he'll be asked to be a versatile, multi-dimensional LB who can rush, play the run and cover.

Larry (Charlotte,NC)

For some reason, I think the Titans are going from first to last this year. I see the South going in this order - Colts, Jags, Texans and Titans last. Whats your early take?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:02 AM)

Not that.

Chad (Houston)

As a Texan's fan should I be concerned about our CBs going in to training camp? Especially without Dunta?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:03 AM)

Dunta will be there. But the secondary is the biggest concern for sure.

bxpx, Canada

With the AFC East and South playing each other, how about you and Timmy make things interesting with a bet on who wins the most games? I suggest the wager should embarrassing. Perhaps an off-season moustache?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:04 AM)

I cover the division, it doesn't mean I'd bet on it or root for it to out-perform another division. Though I'd like to bet something where Graham had to grow a mustache, because facial hair isn't allowed in his D&D league...

anthony OH

hey pk love the blogs and everything keep up the good work!! my question is, when you were in jax how did the defense look and is the defense going to be that hard hitting frightening defense it was like when the jags shut out the steelers on monday night couple years back, or a defense like last year giving up way to many points and not closing games? do you think cox will be a right away starter, and do you think the o-line can get back to the run style offense in which jax is use to where garrard just has to manage the game do you think the jags are contenders this year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:06 AM)

I can't tell you from two non-contact practices how the defense will be. Disappointing that Henderson was uninvolved. They should start Cox and Monroe and Britton and all the young guys right away. Contenders for 8-8 probably.

Chief (Nashville)

How did the yard sale go? Still on the look out for a washer and dryer!!!

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:06 AM)

Only OK. Now have to empty out the garage. Still no washer and drier.

Brad (Orlando)

Paul, With Marvin Harrison gone this year from the Colts, do you see Anthony Gonzalez having an OK year, or a Pro Bowl year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:07 AM)

A good year. I talked to him and wrote a column about him a few weeks ago. He's more versatile than he gets credit for.

Dustin, Stanford CA

Hey Paul, Its is 8 in the morning! I am usually not even up this early. But since I wanted to know how the Titan rookie receivers not named Britt did during OTAs, I woke up to ask you. Thanks.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:09 AM)

Wow/ I am sorry to disappoint. I can't say I noticed any of them. Edison might have a chance. But the first four are certain to be Gage, Washington, Britt and Hawkins. I can't see an undrafted doing better than the practice squad.

Matt (IN)

PK, a request of sorts. I don't know what's on your agenda today, but if you can talk with Jackson, Brackett and Lilja that would be great. I'd like to hear more on how those guys are doing...

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:10 AM)

I have a request in for Brackett, but want to talk with him about the DTs, not his leg. You know injury news won't be flowing.

CC (Atlanta)

When did Tony Dungy become this annoying? Does he need to comment on every news bit that comes out of league?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:10 AM)

Trying to make a splash as he starts the new NBC analyst job.

unbiased observer (cyberspace)

Paul, Tim Graham smokes you as a blogger. His mixture of hilarity and sports answer are at a degree of difficulty you cannot compete with. And he's a lot faster than you. Sorry, work on your game a bit.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:12 AM)

You are making me sleepy. Can I get a Diet Coke over here. Or one of those five hour energy drinks.

Brian (Michigan)

Any reason to believe Jim Caldwell just isn't up to par?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:12 AM)

Not at this point, not at all.

Kevin NY

You get any impression of Jennings while down in Duval? What impact do you see, if any, jennings will have? Also the same question on cox? (I know it's tough to get a read on the big men in OTA's)

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:13 AM)

Wrote a bit about both. Cox looked smooth at times. They should go with him at corner over Consadine at safety, I think. Jennings is a heck of a kid. I saw some burst. Could push Greg Jones for touches.

Kalvis (Indy)

The Colts boast one of the best pass rush/deep coverage combinations in the league, if not the best. The other teams in the division haven't fared all that well against them through the air, and have made moves this offseason to improve their passing games. With Jax possibly starting two rookie tackles, and the Titans relying on questionable receivers, don't you think the Dwight Freeney and the gang are licking their chops? If the AFC South tries to pass more against the Colts, I am of the opinion that they will fail miserably, and allow Indy to reclaim it's throne at the top of the division.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:16 AM)

Titans 31-21 on Oct. 27. They didn't exactly struggle to score in that one. Indy also lost to a bad Jags team. They're hardly going to be invincible in the division. They may win it, but I don't see them coasting unchallenged.

Massey (Columbia, TN)

Chief - Is Jacob Ford going to be a breakout player this year?!? I feel he did a great job last season after a lost rookie season (injury) and with Washburn as the BEST DL line coach in the league, I think this guy is going to surprise a lot of people this year!!!

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:16 AM)

He's good and if he stays healthy I agree he is going to be an impact guy.

Rob / Houston Tx

Good Morning Paul! This is my first message to your blog, although I'am a avid follo0wer of it. What else do the Texans need to do ( if anything) to be a real threat in the AFC South and a legitamite playoff contender? I will give you my thoughts... Schaub stays healthy, defense upgraded, Slaton avoid the sophmore slump. Thank you for your response.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:17 AM)

They need to find a second back to compliment Slaton and be on the look out for potential help in the secondary, which is a weak link. Schaub healthy and turnovers down are huge. Good to hear from you, thanks for coming.

Nate (Burns, TN)

ALL AFC South Dodgeball team: Jones Drew (little target, big arm)... now who else? VY to inaccurate... Garard's arm would do murder... but he's to big and slow. Help me out!

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:19 AM)

Andre Johnson is a safe pick for anything. Reggie Wayne probably too. CJ and Slaton have quickness would be good in Dodgeball.

Ronak (Boston, MA)

I'm still really concerned about secondary depth for the Titans. The secondary will be leaned upon more without Haynesworth and after the starting 4 and Finny theres very little. Faggins was the most maligned in a horrible secondary in Houston and the rookies will have their own growing pains. Any signings in the works to shore up this area?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:20 AM)

If those alternatives don't look good, they could pluck a cut veteran at the end of camp. Out of Faggins, Cary Williams, Ryan Mouton and Jason McCourty, one decent backup should emerge.

Albery Haynesworth, D.C.

Paul the barbecue up here is awful, I already miss Tennessee. Especially since my team isn't even predicted to go the playoffs this year.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:21 AM)

Well, as the league is always predictable, you should definitely base your feelings on predictions.

unbiased observer (cyberspace)

Funny that you're getting sleepy, your chat is having the same effect on me.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:21 AM)

Well played. Ask a good question and you could turn it around and be a hero.

Seth (Denver, CO)

Whew... sorry I'm late. I promise it won't happen again. brb... now I need to go tell my boss the same thing.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:21 AM)

Take your time.

Tony Dungy(Tampa)

Only by the grace of God, do I have this great oppurtunity with NBC. How well do you think I will do. Do you think I have the swagger to hang with them?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:22 AM)

I think if they are smart, they make you their Xs and Os guy. You aren't going to light up a coach or anything.

Clay (Charlotte)

How many years do you think Collins has left?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:22 AM)

One or two.

Phillip: (Houston)

Realistic expectations for the Saints this upcoming season?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:23 AM)

If I wasn't mad at them for making me look dumb for picking them to go to the Super Bowl last season, I might be a bit higher on them. I like NY, Philly and Atlanta a lot. See NO as part of the next tier, a definite contender.

Seth (Denver, CO)

Larry Coyer says he's not going to change Indy's D too much, but surely there will be some changes. What concerning Indy's D do you think will be affected? Will they be a better D overall than last year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:24 AM)

They will be less predictable. Will go in to games with more blitzes and coverages at the ready.

VY (BSP, TN)

PK - Man you have been on me the last couple of years and in a way I have given reason for it however I just want a legitimate shot at being the future of the Titans. Yes I made a big mistake by quitting on my team and had some personal issues that were above my head and couldnt get past it! With that being said Im over it and back ready to play ball, Ive been in meetings, Ive been an everyday participant in minicamp, Im ready to get back to my rookie playing days and take this team to the Super Bowl! Granted Ive made my mistakes but this is a 2nd chance world we live in and Im ready to cash it in and play football! I was great in my own way in my rookie year but I was stuck in a conservative offense with no weapons besides myself. Then we get a great back and I self destruct and lose my position! But Im back now and Im ready to show the team that Im ready to take the next step! Whats wrong by me saying that?!?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:26 AM)

This is the first time I can remember you saying you did anything wrong or have made any mistakes. We have to pause the chat so I can go write this up as a news story! If you actually were accountable like this, you might have a chance. But I don't suspect you will be. Everything is someone else's fault.

Tyler (Murfreesboro, TN)

By the way, good job on getting Jack Del Rio to open up and say what he thinks about John Henderson. Your 104.5 boys played the interview so we could hear you prying. Was that suprising to hear him jump out like that on his only solid DT? Doesn't seem like Del Rio's style.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:27 AM)

I applaud it. Do whatever you feel is necessary to get a guy going. Coaches are at their most honest in May and June on things like this. You call Henderson JDR's only solid DT. Doesn't seem very solid -- two bad years and can't get on the field to help set the tone now?

Shawn (Houston)

Do you think the upgrades to the front 7 of the texans will help the secondary enough or will this be another texan's defense vulnerable to the long pass?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:27 AM)

There will be games where they need to score 30 to win. But they are capable of that.

Mike Carey (Chat Ref)

Phillip, this is a AFC South Chat. 15 minutes penalty for asking a non-AFC question!

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:28 AM)

Once in a while it's OK.

Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)

That's illegal use of the hands against Vince Young for typing a novel in the chat, 10 yards and it is now 3rd down.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:28 AM)

Always at the top of your game.

Dan (Nashville, Tn)

PK-I Know from what I have read that Cecil does not plan on changing much on the defense but do you see maybe a a possibility of more blitz packages?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:29 AM)

Possible. If they rush well with four, though, they won't use them. He intends to stick with a lot of what Schwartz did. Cecil told me if third-and-8 produces a 7-yard pass, yipee, they are off the field. And that he won't compromise coverage with blitzes for blitzing's sake.

Kevin NY

Any chance you saw that SI article that ranked the Jags backfield as #32 in the league, dead last?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:30 AM)

Heard about it. I can see how Garrard would pull it down, but a backfield with MJD can't be last.

Kalvis (Indy)

In the Jags loss, Indy allowed 167 in the air. That was the third game of the season, and we now know how healthy Peyton really was. In that Tennessee loss, Indianapolis gave up 197 in the air, nearly all dinks and dunks. In both games Indy lost the ToP battle by nearly a 2-1 margin. That being said, and pairing it with my earlier question, do Jax and Tenn try the same strategy again this year? Do they continue playing keep away even though they're trying to expand their offensive abilities against other teams? Since both those games were early in the season, will this strategy even work against a healthy Manning?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:31 AM)

Did they win those games or lose them? We can talk context all you like. I see a W or a L. Teams that run and play defense are always going to try keep away when going vs. Manning.

Chris, (Memphis TN)

Hey Paul, when's the next OTA for the Titans? I'm pretty anxious to see how the rookies are coming along.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:32 AM)

June 17 and 19. I will be at the second one...

John McClain (Houston)

Paul, I am in town for a few days do you want me to get you a one on one interview with Vince? I can make it happen! What would be your first question to him?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:33 AM)

When you said ""career change" what sort of careers were you considering?

Dustin, Stanford CA

8:30 and on my way to work. Gotta love a 10 minute commute. Do you think the Titans with the additions in the receiving core will be able to stretch the field and keep 8/9 out of the box? Or is that just a pipe dream?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:34 AM)

That's the plan and the logical next step. Collins will have time, if Gage/Washington/Britt can get open, they can back people off. Still, I'd rather take my chances against those guys than CJ.

VY (BSP, TN)

So just because I dont do this in the media, I am not accountable?!? How do you know this, you are not in the locker room when I talk to the guys, you are not on the other line with talking to other teammates! How do you know that I havent apologized and took responsibility for my actions? Dont get me wrong when I say this because with my personal issues last year KC was the guy that needed to be under center...but did you see what happened to our team last year in the playoffs after CJ got hurt...Our offense was nothing because playmakers were not on the field. IM A PLAYMAKER. I am showing that Im committed this year. Ask "Pops" he knows Im maturing...Everyone is just going to be down on me until I can step on the field in a meaningful game and show that I can play in this league but I dont think they are going to give me a legitimate shot at winning my job back. They drafted me to be an athletic QB and make plays when things break down and to be the future of this franchise and thats what Im ready to do so how about they let me earn it back instead of just naming KC the starter!

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:36 AM)

You and Pops don't talk so much any more. If you'd made a big move to talk to the team, we'd know about it, chief. You played against the Colts in the finale and stunk, if I recall correctly. What happened there? Brace yourself, here comes another well-deserved flag for the length of your "question."

Bert (Virginia)

Hey Paul big fan and a 1sst time writer. With Moore gone and Christensen in, do u think that their a possibility that we could maybe mix up our offensive packages? All we ever run is 3 WR or 2 TE/ 2 WR sets. Think we may have @ least 1 3 WR 1 TE or 4 WR set?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:37 AM)

I think you'll go with what you feel is best and say, beat this is you can. Three wide may be an issue if no third emerges.

Nate (Burns, TN)

I don't know about the new time slot... we need more time for the coffee to take effect.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:38 AM)

One shot deal. Early for me too.

Dave (Canada)

Paul, when you're at OTA's is there any code of ethics for reporters that dictate what you can and can not write about?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:39 AM)

Titans, Texans and Jags -- all is fair game. Colts expect you not to write details of plays or on field observations. Sometimes writers wrestle with them over things.

Jeremy (MN)

I don't know about the rest of you... but I'm starting to think that's not the real VY.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:39 AM)

Seriously? I was sure that was him. Especially the part where he talked all about his mistakes...

Dan (Nashville,Tn)

Paul, I have heard other bloggers opine that other teams are going to figure out CJ like they did VY in 07. I personally don't see how they are going to figure out how to catch up to him. What is your opinion?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:40 AM)

Do those figuring it out run a sub 4.4?

Nate (Burns, TN)

How fast has Nate Washington looked in the OTAs?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:40 AM)

He was with the Steelers at the White House when I saw them on the field.

Vince Young (TN)

I'd like to announce that I will be taking over for Conan O'Brien in the year 2025. Thank you, and tune in!

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:41 AM)

That would be something to behold. How is Conan so far? I taped the first one but haven't watched it yet.

Torry Holt ( Jacksonville )

We going to the superbowl. What do you think about that PK??? In Your face. Im da allstar!

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:42 AM)

I like you and think you're going to be a difference-maker. But on this, you may be asked to pee in a cup.

Ronak (Boston, MA)

In line with Dan, I can see CJ having a bit of a sophomore slump this year. Do you think a slimmer and quicker Lendale might be a solution for this. I'm really excited about the prospect of him being able to hit the hole a split second quicker. He has some of the best vision out there. I can see him being a big back in the mold of Eddie with him gaining a step.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:43 AM)

I see a lot more second-year jumps than sophomore slumps. Why would he slump if he's healthy? Still fast. Still has good vision. Still going to get the ball. Still has great line. Now has passing game expected to be better. I don't see a Slaton slump either.

Dave (Canada)

The Titans are playing at 7:30 on Christmas. Any suggestions on how to talk my entire family into eating in front of the TV?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:45 AM)

Go American and eat a little earlier. Like in the middle of the day.

VY (BSP, TN)

Im not worried about Ed Hochuli - he needs to be studying the rule book instead of refereeing a chat...I mean seriously is that necessary! How do you know me and Pops dont talk so much anymore? Im so amazed by your arrogance that ohhh I work for ESPN.com so now I know everything about every situation...dealing with AFC South division! C'mon man step on the football field where real man play and work then we can talk...You think you know every in and out when you really dont, your media so you just try to stir up trouble any chance you get b/c thats more money in your pocket! You dont know who I talk to, when I talk to them, or anything like that unless you tapped my phone and if thats the case...expect a lawsuit soon!!!

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:47 AM)

Well, here is something I know I know that you don't: The difference between 'your' and 'you're.' He and McNair aren't as tight as they used to be. I know because I ask people who know and they tell me.

Brooks (Nashville)

You know I am starting to think that might be the real VY!!! He has the same delusions as the real one!

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:47 AM)

Who can trace him?

snozberry: indpls, in

when in indy today, can you see if they are going to play raheem brock at de, his natural position. it will provide more depth at the position and keep freeney and mathis fresher 4th quarter of games.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:48 AM)

Will do my best to look and to inquire.

Dan (Nashville, Tn)

Since neither team has really changed a whole lot, what do see as the result of the Pitt/Titan game? I was at the last one and it was an awsome game and full of energy.

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:49 AM)

Will be tough for Titans to win on the road in first game for Pitt since Super Bowl. Should be a good one.

Mark (Nashville)

Paul to be fair in the post to Chief about the dryer you spelled it "drier"

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:49 AM)

Busted. I take full responsibility for my mistake and apologize for it. (VY: See how that works?)

Massey (Columbia, TN)

What do you think the Titans could get for VY in a trade. I know you have gone on record saying he has no trade value, but if someone offered a 3rd, we would have to take it? Right?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:51 AM)

Stay tuned to the blog -- I've got a former GM talking about his trade value in a column due up at noon. I still say trade value is close to zero. Yeah, if they got an offer, they should pounce.

Neil (Indy)

Do if the 3rd WR spot is still up for grabs after other teams make roster cuts, do you see a possibility of the Colts possibly getting a veteran WR to come in and fill that spot?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:52 AM)

Possible. I think they expect someone to emerge. Santi and Tamme could also be more in the mix as the final option.

ron meeks(parts tropical probably9

pk... i know i got served by the colts and i should be the last person defending them, but you seem to be very biased against them. i vote for you not to be allowed to cover them any longer... why let a titans fan cover the entire division. everyone knows theyre simple?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:53 AM)

First the dryer-drier snag and now exposed as a Titans' fan. Horror of horrors! Any actual Titans fans in here care to speak to this?

Mark (Carlstadt, NJ)

Hey Paul, Will Tony Brown be the number one tackle on the d-line? Or will it be mainly a rotation of the tackles?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:54 AM)

He's No. 1 if you are putting them in order, but yes they will have a deep rotation when healthy.

Kevin Ny

Did you get to hang out and have a few beers and soft pretzels with Vic K at all?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:54 AM)

No, but I watched some practice with him. Good man.

Tom (Chicagoland)

Paul... silly flapping of his mouth aside, VY is still the #2 guy and Ramsey still gets cut, right?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:55 AM)

Not guaranteed, no. If Ramsey is really good and Vince is really bad in preseason, they could a) keep three or b) admit their error and cut him.

Bruce Springsteen

Paul, what song of mine would you like to hear in NFL stadiums this year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:59 AM)

I always wanted the Dolphins to play "Rendezvous" when Oronde Gadsden made a play. Because Bruce sings, "I want a rendez-, I want a rendez-, I want a rendezvous," and I think "a rendez" sounds like Oronde.

David Garrard (Jacksonville, FL)

You witnessed first hand my much slimmer physique. Now the question is, will this new look mesh with my feather capped fedora?

Paul Kuharsky
  (11:59 AM)

I heard he's getting the hat taken in by his tailor.

Steve (Syracuse, NY)

Paul- as a Titans fan, which position should I be watching for to determine the way this team will go...rephrased- who is the x factor that will determine if this team can replicate its great season last year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:00 PM)

I'd say Jason Jones on D and CJ on offense.

Massey (Columbia, TN)

Here's another question - what about Matt Jones? Is any team looking at him, I mean didnt the league come out and say he will not be suspended? I mean he has good size, decent speed, decent hands. Probably needs to work on his route running but still could be a big pickup for somebody, maybe like Dallas where they need someone opposite R.Williams or the Texans who needs someone opposite A.Johnson!

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:00 PM)

He will get picked up before the season starts.

John Sterling (NY)

I hear you're a big fan of mine

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:02 PM)

You are a buffoon. All the good broadcasters they had over the years, and when they finally leave one in place, it's guy in a cravat. How about instead of "It is high, it is far, it is deep" you actually tell me if the home run is 500 feet or just over the wall, a line drive or a rainbow?

Nate (Burns, TN)

Ok this talk of slim physiques and feathered fedoras is making me a little uncomfortable.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:02 PM)

You can handle it.

Matt (San Diego, CA)

Why do you think Garrard has difficulty with his dowfield (over-the-top) accuracy? Can this be corrected with trustworthy recievers?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:03 PM)

Not from what I saw. I just think he doesn't throw those balls well and they shouldn't count on him to do so.

Daniel (Jacksonville)

The Titans this year seem like the Jags last year, except the Titans didnt win a playoff game. What makes them so different?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:04 PM)

What makes them the same? You're presuming they lose two starting offensive linemen in the opener? T The Titans receiving corps now is not a good one, but it's way better than the one the Jags' had last year or have this year.

Erik (Salt Lake City, UT)

Who was the best interview among the Jaguars players?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:06 PM)

Torry Holt was good. I enjoyed talking to Rashard Jennings. Groves is a fun guy to talk with. Best talk I had, though, was probably with Dirk Koetter.

Scott (CT)

If the Titans OL stays healthy, they have to be the favorite in the South, right?

It's not unreasonable to pick Titans or Colts to win the division.

Paul compared to the Jags of 2 years ago that made it to the playoffs and won in Pitt, I feel as though the WR are better, the OL is better, and the running game will be about the same. What keeps us from returning to that old form?

The defense is not nearly as good. And they have one proven receiver. Even if th WRs look better, they are an awfully inexperienced bunch, no?
