Chat with Paul Kuharsky

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:46 PM)

Hello everyone. Nice of you to come by. We're starting early -- bonus time up front instead of at the back.

Dusty Rhodes (Austin,TX)

How is Ryan Mouton doing?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:47 PM)

Won't play in Cleveland and still wearing a walking boot on high ankle sprain.

Rivers Cuomo (Los Angeles,CA)

How much does Adam Vinatieri have left in his one-time magical leg?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:48 PM)

Hard to know since he's been out, recovering from surgery. I'd be OK with him lining up for a big field goal from me, I just don't know from how far.

Ollie The Magic Bum (Venice Beach,CA)

Is Chris Henry the odd man out?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:48 PM)

He's not the odd man out. He never had a chance. Major disappointment.

Tyler Parker (Shelbyville,TN)

I see the Texans being 9-7 or 10-6 What about you Paul?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:49 PM)

I think they can contend for the final Wild Card slot from third in the division with nine or 10 wins.

Elton Jones (South Ozone Park,NY)

Can anyone besides Mario Williams play in the defensive line? I know the Texans signed Antonio Smith, but they need more help.

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:50 PM)

Well, I don't know that they are getting more help this year. They need a new position coach to make progress with what he's got, and Smith and Connor Barwin should help.

Tyler Parker (Shelbyville,TN)

How can the Colts improve their third-down defense? Last year, they were 31st in the NFL in this category

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:51 PM)

Well, creating more third and longs is one way. And beefing up to be able to stop more third and short conversions up the middle is another. They are bigger at defensive tackle and outside linebacker.

Bushwacker Butch (Auckland,New Zealand)

Losing Chris Carr might not seem like much, but he averaged 28 yards on kickoff returns and 10 yards on punt returns. Who will handle these jobs?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:52 PM)

Oh he was a big loss. Replacements unknown as of now.Mark Jones has a good shot, but ultimately I'd like to see them put these rookies to use and use Ryan Mouton and Javon Ringer.

Josh Allen (Nashville)

If the injury to Nate Washington turns out to be serious, who do you see starting and who would be in the slot?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:53 PM)

Gage and Britt would start. Right now Edison is third, but not positive about who they'd like in slot best. Could be Britt.

Bryan (Nashville)

Do you see the Titans trying to make a move at WR if Washington is going to have to miss any significant time, or just go with what they currently have

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:53 PM)

B

Tim Graham (AFC East)

Just wanted to put in a plug for the best chat of the ESPN NFL bloggers, coming at you tomorrow at 3pm Eastern. This ad sponsored by ZIMA.

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:54 PM)

Shameless. Without that announcement, I wouldn't even know when you chat. But you come here to try to poach?

Trevor (tennessee)

why does nfl network, espn, and the nfl hate the titans so much?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:54 PM)

Gimmie a break.

Andy (Richmond, VA)

Where has the Jaguars running game been all preseason?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:55 PM)

I think I've spotted MJD on the bench most of the time.

Jake (Hilton Head Island, SC)

Any concern over how Collins has looked in the preseason? He seems to be a little rusty...make anything of this or not?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:55 PM)

I think he will be fine. His passer rating in Dallas was like 118.

Jake (Hilton Head Island, SC)

Nate Washington update time...how's he doing?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:56 PM)

Yes, it's been two days since an update...He's walking around and looks OK, says ask Fisher. Fisher says out this week and isn't giving anything up beyond that. My guess is he misses a game or three at the start of the season.

Harish (Fargo ND)

Paul, Do you think i should trade for Gonzo with roy williams?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:57 PM)

I'd wait. Dallas had to try to feature him, no?

sean daley (houston, texas)

Paul, the titans used next year's 2nd rd pick to move up and take jared cook. If they do in fact cut Vince Young at the end of the season, assuming he cant unseat kerry, what do the titans do in the first round? i cant see them trading up but one of the stud 4 qbs might not fall to them in the late 20's. In my opinion they must get one of them for the future of the franchise.

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:58 PM)

Because first-round QBs are such guarantees, as evidenced by VY and Leinart?I think ideally they'd get a top guy, but it'd be fine if there is a mid-round guy they like. And there could be someone they have an eye on in free agency.

Harish (Fargo ND)

Whats the status of colts LT? They demoted Ugoh, and now johnson is no better. Are they looking for someone from outside?

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:59 PM)

I doubt it. Not their style, generally. Probably going to make it work with one or both of those guys.

Ed The Sports Fan (Cincinnati)

You think Jacksonville's regretting not taking Mark Sanchez when they had the chance? I swear Garrard makes me uncomfortable...

Paul Kuharsky
  (2:59 PM)

Not yet, no.

Bell (Richmond)

Why isn't the Jag-Eagle game on national TV. It would have been instant ratings?!

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:00 PM)

Lack of flexibility on a predetermined schedule, unfortunately for them and for us. There is a quick replay tonight on NFL Network.

Mark Campbell (Nashville)

Why won't the titans try and get Marvin Harrison?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:02 PM)

Why? So they could leave the first receiver they've spent a first-round pick on in a dozen years on the bench?Say they got him -- and I cannot emphasize enough that they will not. He's on the roster Week 1 and it guarantees his salary. Then when Washington is healthy, Harrison rates fourth or fifth in their eyes. He can't play special teams and creates a roster problem. He's probably not happy with his status and creates a locker room problem.Just because you know his name and he was an all-time great doesn't make him the best move for them.

Charles (Goodlettsville)

Any chance the Titans put CJ in the slot 4-5 snaps per game this season with another back on the field?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:03 PM)

Perhaps.

Mike (Ohio)

Wouldn't Thigpen be a steal for the Jags? Considering the crappy o-line he had in KC and considering he had to learn on the job, isn't 2600 yards and 18 scores pretty good?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:03 PM)

I thinik it would be a good move, but a fifth apparently won't get it done.

harish (Fargo ND)

Mr Kuharsky, please answer my question. I am sleepless over the past few nights thinking about colts LT situation and how manning will get hurt. Ugoh is demoted and johnson is no good either. What gives?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:04 PM)

Like a lot of teams, they have a hole they have to try to scheme around to minimize its impact.

Brett Favre (via mobile)

PK, your chats complete me. Is there any way I can get you to take over Seifert's division? I'm just not that into him.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:04 PM)

Sweet of you. But I'm just not that into you. Just picked the Vikings third in the NFC North.

The Most Interesting Man in the World (Via mobile)

I don't always come to chat..... but when I do.... I prefer Kuharsky

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:05 PM)

Nice, my fascinating friend. Thank you.

MD (Nashville)

If L. White doesnt demand alot of money next offseason is there a possibility the titans sign him back or do you think there is no way that could happen?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:05 PM)

I think there is no way the part where he doesn't ask for a lot of money happens.

Tyler Parker (Shelbyville,TN)

Which is more impressive? Being the Beastmaster, Football Guru or Football Scientist?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:06 PM)

I think Scientist sounds the most impressive. Once when I checked IDs at a pool for summer work during high school I was The Keymaster.

Curt (Phoenix, AZ)

What do you think of the Colts younger weapons (Collie, Tamme, Garcon, Brown)? I think this could be the deepest they've been at the skill positions since 18 arrived. If LT gets solved, I'm looking for a huge offensive year in Indy. Thoughts?P.S. I'll take the AFC South bloggers over Graham's Joey-bag-o-donuts every time...

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:08 PM)

AFC South bloggers? Is there more than one of us? Should I be watching my back? Thanks for the compliment. But Graham is high-quality too.I think we need to see Collie and Brown in real games before declaring this the best group of skill guys on offense since whenever. But it's possible. Not sure how LT gets solved, I think they're going to have to work around it a lot.

The only Cards fan on the East coast (West Hartford, CT)

Where do you see my Arizon Cardinals finishing if they swapped places with the Lions in the NFC North or the Skins in the NFC East?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:09 PM)

Well, first off I see them finishing third in the division they are actually in. Super Bowl hangover.I think they'd finish third in the NFC North and fourth in the NFC East.

clint (virginia)

Jim Wyatt thinks Paul Williams goes to TN's practice squad...while he is technically eligible (>9 active games), do you think its likely?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:10 PM)

I hope not. When it's time to let go, it's time. And it's time.

Ricky (Richmond, VA)

I've got a feeling the colts are in for a down season this year. What are your thoughts of Indy imploding this year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:11 PM)

If Manning is healthy I see no conceivable way, barring locker room plague, that they implode.

TxTitan28 (San Antonio, TX)

How's Hawkins doing? Why is he so low on the depth chart? Does Little have a chance of making the team?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:11 PM)

No on Little.Hawkins doesn't mess up every play now, only about every third play. Not reliable enough.

Chris M. (Austin, TX)

Why does everyone talk like the Texans' o-line problems are over? They give up way too much QB pressure and don't run block consistently well, and I think the depth is highly suspect. Am I crazy?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:12 PM)

Alex Gibbs knows how to coach guys up and a second year for the same group in his scheme makes for a favorable forecast. They won't run block or protect with the best in the league, but they will be serviceable or better.

Pete (NC)

If you lived on the NC/TN/GA border, are you driving to Nashville, Charlotte, or Atlanta to see your home team play?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:13 PM)

Who did I piss off to be shipped there? Am I in witness protection? Who did I testify against? If it's not for work, I don't walk a block to watch preseason football live.

Leroy Harris (Middle of the Titanic O-line)

I know you like my athletic ability, but what has been up with my snaps lately? I look like I'm playing slow pitch softball.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:14 PM)

Not good. But people have also been crediting you with some of Fernando Velasco's work.

Scott (Jax Fl)

Do you think a solid performance tonight by the Jags would help boost ticket sales?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:15 PM)

No. But the far more important question is, do you?

Chaz (Mom's Couch)

PK, what's up brother?? Timmy Zima is still a wuss and Seifert chumped out yet again. Time to be my wingman, Pauley. Want some meatloaf??

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:15 PM)

Before or after a funeral?

lennon (milan, tn)

Whats the chances of the Johnson for the colts doing as well as the Williams brothers do for the vikings?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:16 PM)

As well? Very slim. (Which none of the four guys in question are.)

Finley (In the kitchen)

I'm hungry.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:16 PM)

No you're not, you're sleeping.Looks like you are recovering from a bender.Did you find the liquor cabinet last night?

clint (virginia)

Do the Titans wish they hadn't let Mookie Johnson get away? He could have provided the big run-stopper they lack

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:17 PM)

I thought it was a questionable move last year. But I'm not sure he'd rank in their top four interior guys now.

JB (TX)

How did Jerry Jones-mahal rate with Reliant and Lucas Oil? How was the press box grub?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:19 PM)

Food was pretty good.Cowboys Stadium is a notch or two better than those two. But those two are just fine. It's over the top, which is just what Jerry wanted -- and also where a punt has to go with regard to the scoreboard.

Meghan (Houston, TX)

AFC Wild Cards?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:20 PM)

I just sent in my predictions, so I guess I will let the bashing begin ahead of schedule for you Megan:Indy and Pittsburgh.

Brent (Bethlehem PA)

PK do i want dominos or pizza hut for lunch?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:20 PM)

Hut. But something local has to be better.

Cameron (Bloomington, IN)

Watching Reggie Wayne in training camp this season, it seems like he's not only stepped up to become a team leader, but looks poised to have his best season yet. Agree or disagree?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:21 PM)

I think he'll be very, very good and knows with Harrison gone he can do even more for his own legacy.

Guy (Round Rock, TX)

How do the Texans gameplan for the rookie QB, Sanchez, for week 1? I mean, you don't really have any film on a the guy.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:22 PM)

Harras him all you can and complicate coverages.I don't think they are going to be scared of a rookie QB because they have limited film on him.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:24 PM)

I don't know, 77 catches last year seemed pretty involved to me.

JB (TX)

Are the Titans concerned at all about safety depth. Understanding the top 2 guys are Pro Bowlers, when they get subbed out in these preseason games the dropoff is precipitous. Thoughts?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:25 PM)

They are three deep with Fuller ready to slide back. Then nickel is a concern, particularly if Mouton is out hurt. They could have better depth there, but it would take Fisher parting with Donnie Nickey.

Chris Brown (Houston, TX)

over/under for me playing in more than 8 games this year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:27 PM)

Sorry dude: under. The best predictor of future performance is past performance.

Brent (Bethlehem PA)

PK do you think you will have a meet and greet this year in nashville, if so when?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:27 PM)

This is the first such request of my lifetime.

Jason (Cubicle of Joy)

Who would come away with the win? 2008 Lions or 1999 Rams Offense playing both sides of the ball

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:28 PM)

The Rams, like 100-10.I answered only because I like the Cubicle of Joy concept. Is there a Cubicle of Justice? If not, that's what I would name mine.

Tim Graham (AFC East)

Did someone just ask if you would have a meet and greet? Hahahaha!!! Oh man, wait 'til I tell Sando about this...

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:29 PM)

At least the dude won't come dressed as a wizard.

Joe (VA)

PK, how do you see the Colts using Bullitt this year (once Sanders is healthy). His talent definitely warrants being on the field, unfortunately, he plays one of the most talented positions on the team.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:29 PM)

I talked to Polian about this and he said it's got to be ways that extend beyond just the dime. It will be interesting to see.

Brian (Jacksonville, FL)

Any concerns over protesters\supporters at tonight's Jags\Eagles game?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:30 PM)

I don't have any, no. I don't think they can hurt me as I am in Nashville...

Jason (Chicago)

Why do you think the Titans will cut VY instead of trading him John Clayton seems to think that he is worth a 1st round pick!

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:30 PM)

He was worth a first-round pick, in 2006.

Cristiano (Philadelphia, PA)

Which back up do you think will have the best year: Chester Taylor, LeSean McCoy, Leon Washington, Darren Sproles or Rashard Mendenhall? Thanks!

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:31 PM)

I'd put Washington first, McCoy second out of that list.Standard disclaimer: I stink at fantasy.

Jason (Murfreesboro)

Is it just me, or does Javon Ringer look like the obvious answer for the Titans return game?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:32 PM)

I'm with you brother.

MD (Nashville)

Do you know the titans salary cap situation for next year - i know that they have some free agents next year (Keith B., J. Kearse, D Thorton, Nick Harper, KVB, Kevin M., Chris Hope, Eugene A., ETC.) Will they have enough money to sign some of these guys back. Oh and im sorry about the marvin harrison situation, it bugs me to, as soon as Wycheck said that tuesday i knew you were going to go crazy

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:32 PM)

The cap isn't a huge issue for them any more the way they operate and with how nit it's gotten. And of course it's possible there is no cap.

David (Franklin, TN)

I hear Dominque Edison is being considered as the 3rd wide out on the Titans. I understand not going after Marvin Harrison, but Matt Jones was a talented athlete. Although his problems off the field are a concern, I don't see why the Titans wouldn't want an athletic, tall receiver to battle with younger guys for that 3rd spot.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:35 PM)

Again, why the presumption that the name you know is better than the name you don't? What did you think of Cortland Finnegan at first? Or Jason Jones? Would you have preferred the team get middling known entities instead of giving those guys chances?Matt Jones can be an effective possession receiver. I don't see the Titans as needing a possession receiver with Gage and their stable of tight ends.

Wizard lover (Hogwarts)

I take offense to your wizard comment...

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:35 PM)

Not as shot at you so much as at Graham.

Jason (Cubicle of Joy)

Do you think Anthony Gonzalez will be able to hold his own as the 2nd option for Peyton this year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:35 PM)

Absolutely.

Massey (Columbia, TN)

You keep telling me all of us to join you in your chat, however the past 3 times Ive came I have asked like 3 questions each time and not once has my question been answered? O well looks like I will find something else to do during this hour!

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:36 PM)

There was a chance to get answered and you wasted it by not asking a question.

Kevin Costner (Hollywood)

Why hasn't the 3-4 defense made its way to the AFC South? also, I'm wearing my Robin Hood costume to your meet and greet!

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:37 PM)

Can we have a catch at the end? Jacksonville will play some 3-4. Texans-Colts-Titans all have stud 4-3 ends in Williams, Freeney and KVB and a lot of other good front seven players. (OK, maybe not Houston.) Why mess with talented fronts when your personnel is built for 4-3?

Andy (Ann Arbor)

What has LenDale White ever done to earn a lot of money? Unless he's signing a contract in a Hot-Dog eating contest, I don't see anybody paying him a lot of cash. RBs like him are a dime a dozen.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:39 PM)

It only takes one, and there could well be one team out there saying, "If we only had a short-yardage and goal line guy..."But no CBA, no cap, no free agency for LenDale.

timmytitan (nashvegas)

how come the titans cant turn VY into a receiver or wingback or whatever...just get him the ?@#! ball!!!

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:39 PM)

Have you seen him running with the ball lately?

Jeff (MN)

how many wins for the Texans this year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:39 PM)

Nine?

dave (jersey/philly)

what is this titans hour? damn there not even makin the playoffs this year sorry oilers fans

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:40 PM)

Well it's not the Philly hour chief, it's an AFC South chat.

Jerry Jones (Dallas, TX)

I will not move my scoreboard. No player, NFL official, or ESPN blogger can make me either!(creepy laugh)

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:40 PM)

You are a genius.

Charles (Dayton, Ohio )

Do you think Javon Ringer will make Titans team?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:41 PM)

There isn't a doubt. He's on the team.

JT (Ypsilanti)

I understand the Titans did not want to spend the money on Chris Carr, but they are way under the cap, so it's not like they spent it on someone else. They also sell out every single game, so they are profitable. Was Bud just being cheap?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:42 PM)

They put a value on a guy and they don't go over it. You don't just pay because you can. How's that working for Daniel Snyder?

Troy Williamson (Jax)

Will Cortland Finnegan be able to hold me to less than a 100 yards receiving when we play the Titans?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:43 PM)

I like his chances, particularly if your offensive line doesn't start playing better. They'll be no time for you to run past anyone. You'll need to have more than one good preseason game to become a scary deep threat.

Guy (Round Rock, TX)

Has the Chris Myers injury had significant impact to the Texans. He is the Center after all.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:43 PM)

Other guys get experience and he'll be fine in plenty of time. Not a huge deal.

Bill (Nashville)

Do you think the Nashville media has treated VY fairly? Some people seem to think the media has a bias toward him.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:44 PM)

When I wrote about his being great when he was great no one was accusing me of bias. No that I write about him being bad when he's bad I'm against him?

Charles (Goodlettsville)

"But no CBA, no cap, no free agency for LenDale." Can you give a brief explanation of what will happen to free agents next year if there is no CBA.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:45 PM)

You have to have six year, not just four, to become an unrestricted free agent. Teams get an additional franchise tag. Top teams cannot sign free agents unless they lose some.

James (Indy)

What year does Peyton get his 3rd MVP?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:46 PM)

I think 2008!

Ron Burgundy (San Diago)

PK, you're out of control in here. I think you just killed a guy. At one point you were on a horse wielding a trident.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:47 PM)

It's nice to have you with us Ron. But I have to admit I really didn't like the flick.

Adam (Columbus, OH)

Hey PK, just finished undergrad today so I'm stoked, should I be excited about Dr. Andrews' analysis that Bob Sanders is coming along? Or should I still be holding my breath?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:47 PM)

I don't know about opening day, but I think you'll get 12 or 13 games out of him this season.

James (Indy)

Pauley, if I show up to your meet-and-greet dressed like Colonel Sanders, do I win free KFC for life???

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:48 PM)

If KFC signs on, yes. Everyone send me more details of the meet and greet.

rocky "the hitman" boiman (nash)

you drinkin the Rocky Kool-Aid yet?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:49 PM)

We had a nice chat yesterday, pal.Funny that to keep you, they would have to be bringing back a guy they admitted was a mistake, likely while admitting another mistake (Fowler).

ED (Fort Worth)

Are the Texans to tied to Schuab that if VY did become available next season, they might consider bringing him back to his hometown?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:50 PM)

If he's out there for a cheap deal, they could look at him as a project, not as a replacement. But honestly, Houston might be the only situation for him worse than Nashville. He doesn't need to be at home surrounded by the people who tell him he's great.

John (Canada)

How many DL are the Titans likely to carry? Who do you see as the odd men out?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:51 PM)

If they manipulate the roster and keep their best players, then 10 DL.

Mark Howard (104.5 The Zone)

Can I sign stuff at the meet and greet? I'll wear my sweats and orange Crocs. Frank will show up late and leave early if that okay.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:52 PM)

Just Frank being Frank. You can come if you wear Mets gear.

NFLDoc (Nashville)

Any thoughts on Bullock's future with the Titans?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:52 PM)

The better McRath looks, the less likely I think it is we'll see Bulluck in Nashville in 2010.

Grant (IL)

What should i be more worried about as a jags fan: lack of protection by the offensive line or lack of a pass rush on the defensive side? and do u think either of those will improve tonight?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:53 PM)

The protection troubles are more surprising, so to me they are more of a concern. Good o-line play is a must for them to even attempt to do what they want.I would hope both improve tonight.

Brian (Jacksonville, FL)

One hour left until the day is over and I can begin cooking for the Jags game. Give me an album to download so I can get through the home stretch.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:55 PM)

OLD: Bottlerockets, The Brooklyn SideNEW: Mindy Smith, Stupid Love

Tim Graham (AFC East)

Will 12-sided dice be allowed at this meet-n-greet?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:56 PM)

If you roll the right thing to gain admittance.

Awayne (INDY)

Paul who has better BBQ Nashville or Houston?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:56 PM)

Houston.

Chris M. (Austin, TX)

I wish the league could step in and tell teams which uniforms they have to wear. Man, so many ugly togs in the league right now.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:57 PM)

Yes, take away team power and give it to Park Ave.

Brett Favre (Minnesota)

I have an album comment for brian from jacksonville,,, download the album escape by journey. listen to the song "don't stop believin" the theme of my storied NFL career

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:57 PM)

Funny stuff!

Myra (Atlanta)

what channel will the eagles be playing on tonight

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:59 PM)

NFL Network, I believe at 11 ET. It's a replay. Only on live in Philly.

NFLDoc (Nashville)

Will Jerry have to move his ridiculous screen?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:59 PM)

I can't see how it isn't moved. League could have to pay since it signed off on placement.

Jim Brown (Hall of Fame)

Fred Taylor may end up with more career rushing yards than me. On a scale of 1 to 10, how ridiculous is that? I say 100.

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:00 PM)

If he runs for the yards, how is it ridiculous? You can't dispute it, there they are.

Luis (NY,NY)

Will the steelers beat the ravens twice again this year? how far the steelers go this season?

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:00 PM)

I think the Ravens make significant progress against PIT this year. Both in the playoffs.

Colts (Indianapolis)

Why am I in the AFC South?

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:01 PM)

The division names are more suggestions...

Brian (Jacksonville, FL)

Thanks Paul. Bottlerockets sound familiar. Are they in the mold of Wilco and Son Volt? I'm a big Son Volt guy.

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:01 PM)

Little twangier. You don't like that CD, I'll refund.

Brent (ATL)

If the titans are poised to be a contender will the front office attack the market and get the missing piece of the puzzle, if so, what position and who do they bring in?

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:02 PM)

For this season? I'm confused what this market is? Free agency was in March, the draft was in April.

Gary Kubiak (Houston)

Am I on the hot seat if I don;t make the playoffs?

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:02 PM)

I think it would have to be a really bad season for you to be in trouble.

T.J. (Ft. Myers)

What's the chance that when that big Colts/Pats game rolls around, it'll be a Battle of the Undefeated again like in '07?

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:05 PM)

It sure would make NBC happy.Looking at what's toughest before then:Indy will have to have won at Arizona, at Tennessee and vs. Houston.NE will have to have beaten Baltimore, Tennessee and Miami, all at home.Possible.

Adam (Columbus, OH)

Did the NFL alter the rules where they reseed the playoffs? Just hate to see a 12-4 team flying across country to play an 8-8 one.

No they didn't change it. Win your division. The challenge is to win your division, not post the best record you can without winning your division. That's the secondary challenge for if you can't win your division.

John (Canada)

Do you think Larry Birdine and/or Mitch King can find a place on the Titans roster?

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:06 PM)

I think it will be hard to keep 10, and those guys aren't in the 10.

Marnie (IN)

Most likely post-retirement scenario for Peyton: coaching, media job or spending the first five seasons tarnishing his legacy by dramatically retiring and unretiring a la favre?

Disappear for a while, then B.

Brent (ATL)

I guess the better question would be, What is the biggest missing piece to a Titans superbowl team? sorry bout that

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:07 PM)

Secondary depth/ return game.

Doug (Jax)

Game tonight will also be live in Jacksonville, too, since the road games are not blacked out, just as a heads up! Great chat Paul!

Whoops. I am so much in blackout mode I dropped that one. I stand corrected.

Meet and Greet Promotion Department (Bristol)

We assume you'll be signing your headshots. How many will you require?

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:08 PM)

To be safe, three?

Chris Johnson (Backfield)

Should titans fans be worried that i have had a lackluster preseason? maybe a sophmore slump?

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:10 PM)

I am baffled by this sophomore slump concept. Good players generally get better in their second seasons. Did he get significantly slower?I wouldn't worry about any established player's preseason numbers if he's healthy.

Andrew (Nashville)

Would anyone comlain if the NFL season started sooner? September 13 should be week 3, not opening Sunday. They could even make up for it by adding an extra bye week.

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:11 PM)

They are more interested in spreading into February than August or even too early in September. Want distance from Labor Day.
