Monday Night FB chat!

Buzzmaster
  (12:18 PM)

Hello football fans! We'll be here each week starting at 7:30 p.m. ET to chat live up to and during the Monday Night Football game! Get your best questions and comments ready and submit them below!

Bill Barnwell
  (7:31 PM)

Hey everyone! Some non-MNF news to start today: Rumblings are that GM George Kokinis might be out in Cleveland, only halfway into his first regular season.

Bill Barnwell
  (7:32 PM)

I can't say that I understand why. It's not like it was Kokinis's idea to build his team around the backups from the 2008 Jets. But there'll be more to come on that in the future, I guess.

Jason (New Orleans)

Why does "jaws" constantly scrutinize every play by a QB when his career was nothing at all to brag about, having thrown just about as many INTs as TDs and having an overral rating of 72.8???? take it easy on em jaws, theyll all prob be better than you once its all said and done

Bill Barnwell
  (7:34 PM)

Well, because Jaws studies more tape of quarterbacks than anyone else on TV. I've never understood that leap of logic, anyway. I can eat a steak at a restaurant and tell you it's not cooked well, but that criticism only matters if I have two Michelin stars?

Ryan (cincinnati ohio)

Why do people say Cedric Benson is bad?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:35 PM)

Well, he's playing at a level of performance totally unsupported by the rest of his career. So it's not unreasonable to believe that there's some skepticism regarding whether he can keep it up.

Jayson (Powder Springs, Georgia)

Why does everyone think Drew Brees is going to throw all over our defense. We are going to own him.

Bill Barnwell
  (7:37 PM)

Well, your pass defense is 21st in the league in DVOA (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef), and he threw for 652 yards and four touchdowns (against three picks) in two games against you last year. So that's probably why.

DarthBilly32 (Chico, CA)

Is Matt Ryan finally taking the reins over the Falcons? And if so, will he be a savior for years to come?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:37 PM)

I think he took the reins over last May...

Drew (tyler)

are the saint a team that can go 19-0

Bill Barnwell
  (7:39 PM)

Possible, but there's a reason there's only been one perfect team in the last 40 years or so. A lot has to go right. A _lot_.

Chris (Lynchburg, VA)

Why is it that the Browns owner can recognize incompetence and Dan Snyder can't do the same thing and fire Cerrato? You heard if Vinny's job is on the line at the end of this season?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:41 PM)

I'm not so sure that Mr. Lerner did recognize the proper incompetence in this situation, Chris. Either way, I wouldn't be too harsh on Cerrato. He's just carrying out Snyder's bidding. And Snyder can't fire himself.

nick (chicago)

with heath evans out, is there any change in the way the saints will or should use thomas, bell, and bush?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:42 PM)

I think they might throw the ball a little more frequently while they get Eckel integrated into the lineup. I don't think there's a huge difference in quality between Eckel and Evans, so once he's around and aware, it should be about the same.

Dustin Graham (Ark City Ks)

Jacksonville Maurice Jones -Drew rushed 8 times for 170 + yards why do they not give him the rock more feed it to him 15-30 times then he would 200 +

Bill Barnwell
  (7:43 PM)

Well, because they were behind. And you can catch up a lot quicker throwing the ball than you can running (unless MJD breaks a 80-yard run once every four carries, which isn't about to happen).

Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)

Halloween was on Saturday so why did those guys in Cleveland dress up as an NFL team???

Tony Moye (Atlanta)

Why do you think Michael Turner is more than a full yard per carry compared to last year. And don't you think if goes over 125 on 20 to 25 carries the falcons got a real shot?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:45 PM)

He's down a full yard per carry or so because the line's not playing as well, and the team probably overworked him last year. Having Norwood and/or Snelling healthy to shoulder the load this year would be beneficial to the Falcons. You have the causation for Turner's runs and the Falcons winning backwards. If Turner gets 20-25 carries, it will almost definitely be because the Falcons are ahead, and Turner's running out the clock in the second half.

Ian (SF, CA)

Are the Niners a playoff team like they are boasting? They have an easy schedule but so do the Cardinals

Bill Barnwell
  (7:46 PM)

It looks like it's going to come down to whoever catches a break here or there, and how they play against each other heads-up. Seattle still has a shot.

Carlos (Atlanta)

How dare you and the league compare or even say that Drew Brees is better than the Great Peyton Manning

Bill Barnwell
  (7:48 PM)

I'm not sure when I said that. If you mean in given weeks, absolutely, Drew Brees has played better than Peyton Manning at points. Over their career, Manning's easily the better player. Not sure what your beef is with "the league" saying something, too, considering it's a corporate entity.

Max (Detroit)

Do you think that the lions have a chance at winning another game this season?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:49 PM)

Sure. I think they can win a couple more games, but it's a process. This year is about evaluating some of the young players on the roster and figuring out whether they're going to be impact players at this level.

Nick (MN)

Are the young WR's in New York catching up to Eli? Or is it just the fact that there secondary is wiped out so they have to pass 40 times a game?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:50 PM)

I think Eli was playing a little over his head last year (he had a fluky-high performance on third down), the receivers are a little worse, the line's a little worse, and the rushing game hasn't been as effective. Basically, everyone's down about 5%.

Chris Johnson (Nashville, TN)

Bill, am I the most exciting running back since Barry Sanders? When was the last time a back had 5 TD's OVER 52 YARDS EACH? Not to mention an 89 and a 91 yarder. I know that my team has struggled this year, but how about some love. Most players this explosive are all over ESPN with highlight after highlight. Why do I not get mentioned with the likes of Adrian Peterson?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:52 PM)

Well, you're up there with him, but Adrian Peterson's team is winning their division. You're up amongst the worst teams in football.

John (Daegu, S. Korea)

Bill, do you think Roddy White is an "elite" receiver or is he just another "flash in the pan"?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:53 PM)

White's the third-best receiver in the league, behind Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson. You may disagree, which is your prerogative, but it's pretty clear looking at the numbers and considering the context of which players are around him.

Tim (Austin, MN)

I hear a lot of mixed reviews on Jared Allen. Sure, everybody knows he's good, but he is often criticized for playing the pass too much. I think that's overstated, there are times when he rushes himself out of a play but I think he plays the run quite well. What's your opinion? Complete player or just a sack specialist?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:54 PM)

I think the Vikings want him to play the pass really aggressively, since they have the Williams Wall next to him. He could be better against the run in a different scheme. Either way, I don't see how you can complain about him. He's an elite player.

Andy (Spartanburg, SC)

In contradiction to Carlos's post above, why do so many say Brees can't be compared to Manning and Brady? He's shown he has the accuracy, the poise, and the mental quickness that they do (if not more). And just as you couldn't agree with the argument about "Jaws" and QB's, I can't get the Superbowl ring argument. Brees hasn't had the fully-developed team the Colts and Pats had until now. The Superbowl isn't a sign of a player's ability, but his team's ability and teamwork.

Bill Barnwell
  (7:54 PM)

Very well reasoned, Andy.

Max (Detroit)

Do you think Percy Harvin will be the next great receiver or is he having a lucky year?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:56 PM)

Not necessarily a "lucky" year, but he's having a good rookie season as a receiver and proven himself to be an excellent return man. Still don't know what his potential is as a number one receiver because of his size, but he's a valuable player.

Mike (Greenville)

Bill who is hosting this chat you or the buzzmaster?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:57 PM)

I am here until 8:30, Mike, and then you will get ye olde Buzzmaster.

J.T. (Georgia)

there are no lucky years in the NFL,believe me.

Bill Barnwell
  (7:58 PM)

There absolutely, positively are. Seasons where no one gets injured, seasons where you recover 80% of the fumbles that hit the floor, or seasons when you play the AFC and NFC West six times.

your tom (boston)

Hey any chances all these Bills injuries are more than a fluke? Would you say it has anything to do with the early camp opening and extra pre season game?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:59 PM)

Would have to look at it in greater detail, but I doubt it. We haven't seen a relationship between preseason injuries and injuries after the season, and most of the injuries have been traumatic and random, not the sort of muscle strains/tears that are emblematic of overwork.

Terence Davis (Washington, DC)

With bret favre behind center for the vikings now which in turn caused the passing game to improve tremendously do you think adrian peterson will reach 1500 yds rushing this year?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:00 PM)

I think if he's healthy, AD is pretty much guaranteed 1500 yards. Of course, staying healthy is always the issue there.

Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)

Backup quarterbacks on Super Bowl winning teams have had lots of lucky years for doing squat. Kosar with Dallas got his ring.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:02 PM)

Is Clay Bellinger one of the best infielders of his generation? Of course not. Listen, winning the title is important, and if you do it, you deserve all the credit and congratulations in the world. It doesn't automatically make you a great player, though. Just like you can graduate college and get a D in a class, you can win the Super Bowl with a few mediocrities in the lineup.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Can we get Buzz in here early?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:02 PM)

Now you're just hurting my feelings, Brendan.

Jack (Jacksoville)

You think Michael Turner can run on this Saints run defense? How have they been doing this season beside what was done to them by Ricky this season?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:03 PM)

They're 24th in the league so far this season, having recently been ripped apart by the Dolphins. I think Turner should be able to do some damage tonight.

Joe (Philly)

Warner has 11 TD's and 11 picks 5 of them came in a loss to the Panthers. If things don't improve, when will we see Leinart?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:03 PM)

When Warner gets hurt, which is pretty inevitable.

Patrick (Baton Rouge, LA)

Bill who will have the better career Percy Harvin or Desean Jackson?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:07 PM)

That's impossible to answer. Had this been ten years ago, you'd have asked me whether Torry Holt or David Boston were going to have the better career. And how would I -- or anyone -- been able to anticipate how the two would have played? No one knows, or will know with any sort of certainty for about five years.

Joe (Philly)

Ok, Warner tosses 5 picks and still has job security. What does that say about the Cardinals faith in Leinart? Might we see a trade at the end of the season?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:09 PM)

Among the quarterbacks who have thrown five picks in one game are Tony Romo, Chad Pennington, Dan Marino, RIch Gannon, Brett Favre, Daunte Culpepper, Mark Brunell, Drew Bledsoe (twice), and Troy Aikman. Each had a lot of life left in them. Throwing five picks isn't the end of the world. Thanks to the pro-football-reference Play Index for that one.

Trent (ks)

Is Matt Forte hurt or can you credit his molasses slow start to the inept offensive line.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:10 PM)

I would say the OL has a lot to do with it. As in, 98% or so.

Craig G. (Fairfield, California )

Hey Bill, where do you write or do regular work we can follow?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:12 PM)

I write at least two articles a week for ESPN Insider. Quick Reads is available Monday morning and takes a look at the best quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers of the previous week using our advanced metrics, and Fantasy Matchups analyzes the best and worst opportunities of the week for fantasy players every Thursday.Beyond that, you can read a lengthy amount of archives at Football Outsiders (footballoutsiders.com), and I've been a contributor in the past to the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and other various papers that aren't in New York.

Sam (San Diego)

Bill, what's going on with John Abraham? Are teams doubling him more just because of the loss of Perry? And will Jamaal Anderson's suddenly capable play at DT help free him and the Bierman up to pressure Brees tonight?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:14 PM)

Think he just had a hot streak last year and has returned to being John Abraham over the last full season or so.

David Ferrara (Nashville, TN)

Do you see Sean Payton devising more pass plays with Reggie Bush - screens, swing plays, reverses etc with Atlanta's less talented front 4? I think Reggie's due for a big game after being under the radar for much of the season. WHO DAT - GEUAX SAINTS!

Bill Barnwell
  (8:15 PM)

No one's ever "due", that's the gambler's fallacy. I think if you're up against a weak 4, you do exactly the opposite; you protect Brees with five guys and then send four guys out on deeper patterns (with one player as the safety valve).

Mike Hunt (KC MO)

Do you think LJ has played his last down as a Chief?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:15 PM)

For the Chiefs' sake, I really hope so. Dude needs to grow up.

Jarred (Pearl Harbor, HI)

Bill, i don't think 137yds against is getting "ripped apart" (mind you, one of those runs was for 68yds). oh yea btw top rusher in that game(RW) had only 80 yds. in fact, RW is the top rusher against the saints all year.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:16 PM)

No one's running against the Saints because the Saints are up two or three scores on most teams (and that's not because of some great run defense). When teams have tried to run on the Saints, given the quality of the opposition, the down and distance, and the game situation, they've been successful.

will (hilton head,sc)

Bill, I am a Jags fan, yes, I am 1 of the few. I have always been a believer in Garrard. I know its not the running game. Is it Garrard, the young OL, or ( other than Holt ) the ypoung WR corp.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:17 PM)

The OL. Think the offense is one year away from emerging as a really, really talented unit.

Tom (NM)

Does anyone claim Chris Chambers

Bill Barnwell
  (8:17 PM)

No. The Chargers needed wide receivers and cut Chambers, which is a sign. He's been a supremely overrated receiver all his career.

Gage (Lodi,CA)

What do you think of the Packers chances to make playoffs this year? any chance they could still get the NFC North title?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:18 PM)

Decent shot at making the playoffs. Going to be very hard to win the NFC North with two losses to the Vikings; essentially, you're looking at some sort of major injuries to make it happen.

Cortez (Omaha, NE)

When will Mike Vick ever start for a NFL team again? Or will he?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:19 PM)

No reason to think that he will, or deserves to on merit. He was never a very good quarterback in Atlanta, and while he might be a better human being now than he was then, he's just not very good at his job.

Dees (Knutts, GA)

Do you think the Texans are a playoff team this year? How much will losing Daniels and Andre's health play a factor?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:20 PM)

Depends on how the breaks go. Losing Daniels is huge for them, cost them their #2 receiver. Now teams can double Johnson on every play.

Brian (San Francisco)

FO was very down on the niners this year. They are 3-4, and have lost to 2 great teams (Indy, Minnesota) by less than 10 points. Would you consider them lucky, or are you seeing legitimate improvements that can be sustained over the long-term?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:21 PM)

They also won one game by 4 points. Mix of both, to be honest; pleased by their play up front, and think they've got the makings of a good offense, but the offensive line is terrible.

jack (allendale nj)

can I count on the jets for a playoff berth?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:21 PM)

Strongly, strongly doubt it. Maybe .500.

Carlos (Atlanta)

In contradiction to Andy's post, Drew "thank you Shawn Peyton for your system" Brees is a bum, and a system player, he can not and should never be compared to the great Peyton Manning

Bill Barnwell
  (8:23 PM)

I'm not sure what system Brees is in. Maybe the system is called "Drew Brees Is Awesome At Playing Quarterback".

Franz (Tampa)

Why isn't anyone talking about what the problems are for the Bucs? Where is the justice? Why hasn't the entire coaching staff been run out of town?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:24 PM)

I think everyone's aware that the Buccaneers are rebuilding, and that there may be some financial issues there with that franchise. It's also hard to shake the feeling that the Buccaneers are the Glazer's second franchise (after Manchester United).

Craig G. (Fairfield, California )

Thanks for chatting Bill. How long before the Raiders inevitably trade Nnamdi Asomugha?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:26 PM)

Thanks for coming, Craig. I don't think the Raiders trade Asomugha because of his salary and his desire to stay. If he wanted to leave, he would've thrown a fit this offseason. He's a local, he loves the Bay Area, and he's too nice of a guy to throw a temper tantrum.

realfan (miami fla)

is it just me or is matt ryans accuracy a big dropoff when the ball travels more than 25 yards in the air. Atlanta has no deep completions all year.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:26 PM)

Everyone's accuracy drops off when they're throwing 25 yards downfield. Even NFL quarterbacks can't drop a ball in a bucket 75 feet away.

Franz (Tampa)

How many times do we need a rebuilt team? I understand the financial deal as well, but there is still some talent there, just no leadership.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:27 PM)

I dunno. Ronde Barber was a leader two years ago, right? Why isn't he a leader anymore? Definitions of leadership tend to be murky and directly tied to wins and losses.

John (Charleston)

The Saints are currently 6th against the run right now....where do you get your stats?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:28 PM)

footballoutsiders.com. Think about why the Saints would be sixth against the run -- namely, what's happened in their games so far that would make it unlikely teams to pound the ball against them.

will (hilton head,sc)

Bill, I know there are a lot of young players on the Jags team this year, and yes I know a full season together will help them. But does Del Rio get another season to bring all that talent together. If they dont get things turned around

Bill Barnwell
  (8:29 PM)

I think they don't want to spend the money on a new coach, to be honest.

Chad (Las Vegas)

I was born and raised in New Orleans. It is GREAT to see the Saints doing well. They should CRUSH the Falcons but that is why we play the game. GEAUX SAINTS!

Bill Barnwell
  (8:29 PM)

And with that, I'm out. Enjoy the game, everyone!

Buzzmaster
  (8:30 PM)

Thanks Bill! Is everyone ready for some MNF tonight? This matchup is a good one -- who do ya got?

J.T. (Georgia)

J.T. (Georgia)

Falcons in a close one buzzy!

Nick Schaefer (Los Angeles)

saint should crush them

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Alright guys this is the story: I forgot to start a QB and WR, so I need Roddy White and Tony Gonzales to put 21 (20 to tie) on the board to win. Lets root for a very prolific Matt Ryan passing game.

Buzzmaster
  (8:33 PM)

Brendan that is a fantasy foul. But impressive -- no WR and QB and you could still win?!

Tom (NM)

Saints are blessed with a win over Atlanta

dandydawg (Decatur, GA)

ATL 24 NO 17

J.T. (Georgia)

Yeah alright buzz is on my side!ah who cares if you picked the skins there bound to have a few bad games, maybe 8 or 10.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Obviously I will be rooting for the Falcons in a shootout.

Chad (Las Vegas)

You forgot about your Fantasy team when you didn't play a QB or WR this weekend. Didn't you?

Tom (NM)

fantasy really makes watching games fun (other than your favorite team)

Buzzmaster
  (8:38 PM)

Unless you have Steve Slaton this week...then, not so fun.

Zhou (Los Angeles)

Brendan, you are lucky to not be in a PPR league, otherwise you'd be crushed...

jimmy (MD)

Do the Saints win by 2 + TD's tonight?

Momentum (Bourbon Street)

Nick (Los Angeles)

Saints All the Way UNDEFEATED

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Buzzmaster
  (8:44 PM)

No one likes the Favres this year for the Super Bowl?

Jimmy (MD)

If Baltimore can contain the pass...Ravens have a great shot at the SB

Tom (NM)

Whoever can beat the Steelers

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Roddy White, that's something!

Sean (Louisiana)

I love how the Saints finally have a good season and every jumps on the ole bandwagon

Buzzmaster

Hugo (Atlanta)

Why cant we see this kind of offense more consistently?

Tom (NM)

If the Bengals can beat the Steelers in the playoffs, not regular season. The Steelers D is tough, ask BRETT FAVRE

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Alright - 18 points to go. Score quick Drew Brees!

Marcus (Fort Wayne)

The colts have a chance...as long as new england and san diego stay away ha

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Keep jumping off.

Mike (Greenville)

Pats .. superbowl .. they will be in sync ready to roll 2007 style when the playoffs begin

Buzzmaster
  (8:50 PM)

Can you imagine if the bengals won the super bowl? Would TJ Housh just implode?

yunn sanco ((tx))

Brees will do what he usually does .....score

dean (nj)

saints all the way

Chad (Las Vegas)

Pats D is too old to win the SB.

Nico ((Louisiana))

Im tired of the pats being in the superbowl

Rob (Indianapolis)

Final 4: Colts, Steelers... Saints, and whoever manages to win the NFC East.

J.T. (Georgia)

BengalsSuperbowljust doesent mix Buzzmaster.you should know that!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

The Eagles.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

I think Ochocinco would implode more - considering how badly he wanted to get the heck out of there.

Mike (Greenville)

Pats D is young .. check it

drew (tyler,tx)

are the saints good enough to go 19-0??

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

The Pats were good enough to go 18-1.

yunn sanco ((tx))

man i sware i was thiking that yesterday about TJ Housh when i seen him showing frustration i know he was thinking i should of never left the Bengals for money

Jay (NY)

If Cincy won the superbowl, the time space continuum would explode.

Buzzmaster
  (8:53 PM)

i think that only applies to the raiders?

yunn sanco ((tx))

dallas is going to be a good matchup against the Saints

Buzzmaster
  (8:54 PM)

Easy Breeeesy!

Chad (Las Vegas)

How about and 18-0 NO vs an 18-0 INDY Super Bowl? That would make Mercury Morris and NE fans explode.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

saints-vikes would be a good game

Hugo (Atlanta)

If the raiders win again during the Al Davis era, I will never watch football again.

John (Iowa)

Do you think that Brees can put up 300+ yards and 3 TDs?and how many more games can he keep that

dandydawg (Decatur, GA)

oh no, here they come....

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Chad it will never happen. Saints will lose tonight and the Colts will rest at the end of the year, giving up 1-2 losses.

Tom (NM)

regular season is for seeding. The playoffs are the real deal and defense wins. Geez the Ravens won a SB with no offense at all

Chad (Las Vegas)

Rams won the SB with no defense.

Rick (Las Vegas)

Pretty sure Peyton Won a super bowl with all offense

Chad (Las Vegas)

What a run!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Good stuff. get back out on the field Atlanta!

Sometimes Chad, you just know.

Buzzmaster
  (9:01 PM)

Which opening drive was stronger? Saints or Falcons?

Chad (Las Vegas)

10 plays 7 different players with touches.

Jimmy (MD)

Was that excessive celebration penalty on Saints?

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Wait, did the refs just penalize the Saints kick off yards! THAT IS AWESOME!!!

elwood (new orleans)

tie

Jay (NY)

I personally have a problem with excessive celebration.

yunn sanco ((tx))

this game will be in high scoring in the 30's

RICK (IRONWOOD)

Buzzmaster

Excessive celebration, do you have a problem with Jay?

kym (white)

chris (macon, ga)

Todd (Louisville)

that sounds like a personal problem to me, jay (NY)

Jimmy (MD)

What did excessive celebration ever do to you?

RICK (IRONWOOD)

OFFSIDES

Excessive celebration (New Orleans)

Yes I have a problem with Jay.

Jon (NOLA)

Hey RYAN!!!! Can u hear me??? Sincerely, Superdome

Rob (Indianapolis)

Highest scoring NFL game: 113 points when the Washington Redskins beat the New York Giants 72-41 on November 27, 1966.

Buzzmaster
  (9:06 PM)

I bet Brett Favre was somehow the quarterback.

yunn sanco ((tx))

ryan and Birds cant put up 41

Robbie (Houston)

The quarterback for which team?

Buzzmaster
  (9:07 PM)

BOTH

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Jamarcus Russell'd himself.

Todd (Louisville)

both

Buzzmaster
  (9:08 PM)

Todd, way to be on the same favre page.

saints d line (Superdome)

yea ryan, we are here

dude (here)

great drive by the Failcons

elwood (new orleans)

saints will score again, and take the lead

RICK (IRONWOOD)

THE COWBOYS BEAT ALANTA BY 19. SO THE SAINTS WIN BY 40

Rob (Houston)

No you're not. Just wait. Ryan will figure it out.

Buzzmaster
  (9:10 PM)

Wow -- how was that not intercepted?

saints d line (Superdome)

we arent giving up another yard

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

They dropped it.

RICK (IRONWOOD)

BUTTER FINGERS

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Didn't matter.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Did someone say the Saints would score next?

Tom (NM)

Smack

Rob (Houston)

TOUCHDOWN FALCONS!! WHAT????

elwood (new orleans)

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Jon (NOLA)

Off the wagon again.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Drew Brees got crushed.

RICK (IRONWOOD)

BREES IS SEEING STARS

Carlos (Atlanta)

Thats the Falcon secondary for ya, if they're not getting burnt, they're dropping int's

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

The shocks on that wagon are going to be busted the way you guys keep climbing on and off.

Todd (Louisville)

i hope the scoreboards are equipped with the mythical "third digit."

Rob (Indianapolis)

So... If the saints can score before the quarter is over, the game will be on pace to reach 112 points. Hmm.

Tom (NM)

buzz was calling for the mythical 6th, 5th, 4th and 3rd digit

Buzzmaster
  (9:15 PM)

still am!

Chad (Las Vegas)

Shoot. I sit down to eat and this happens. Oh well. It's still early.

elwood (new orleans)

ok now you made brees mad!!!

Rob (Lake Charles, LA)

Ouch!!! I felt that. N.O. vs ATL is always a slugfest. I would say there the biggest rivalry in the NFC South and one of the best in the NFL period.

Zhou (Los Angeles)

If the scoreboards are there for anything beyond football, there will be a third digit...

Rob (Houston)

Good point, Rob. Especially since at this rate, it may be a tie at the end resulting in overtime...which could take it even higher. haha

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

The defensive offsides eliminated any possibility of an interception during the last Saints possession. Plus, the LB's dropped the pass. Pay attention!

Buzzmaster
  (9:16 PM)

chat ref...is that you?

Nico ((Louisiana))

Saints up by 10 heading into 4th

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Please.... no chat ref.

Todd (Louisville)

i thought we dealt with chat ref last week

Chad (Las Vegas)

Personal Foul against ATL.

elwood (new orleans)

late hit!!

Chad (Las Vegas)

Nope Illegal Hands.

RICK (IRONWOOD)

FRIST DOWN

Christopher (ATL)

We just may have a game here

Gavriel (Colombia)

which team may u think that may upset the saints on its playoff run?if it gets to playoffs?

Excessive celebration (Superdome)

I have a problem with the chat ref

Mike (Iraq)

Saints will find a way to win this game

Jay (NY)

Surprisingly enough, I have no issues with the chat ref. But premature celebrations is another thing.

George (NY)

Do you think a kicker will ever get 20+ fantasy points?

Buzzmaster
  (9:21 PM)

Have you ever seen the Chargers in the red zone? i'd say they have a shot.

Liu Kang (Mortal Kombat)

Next to the Texans, the Siants are the biggest "WHAT IF" team in football

Jay (NY)

Someone hit 7 fgs before... on MNF too...so many stories of lost fantasy matchups on a kicker. Anyone remember who it was?

Todd (Louisville)

how can the saints be a "what if" when they haven't been beaten?

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Rob Bironas?

John (NH)

How legit do you think the colts are?

Chad (Las Vegas)

Rob Bironas had 26 pts in a game, including 8 FG's in 2007.

Rob (Houston)

Ah, the Texans. My team. They are going to beat the Colts this week (sorry for randomness)

Pancho [via mobile]

Hey remember when the cowboys beat the falcons i guess we will demolish the saints

Todd (Louisville)

too legit to quit

Rob (Indianapolis)

The colts tend to wrap up their division, cool off, and not heat up again in time.

Pablo Hernandez (Mexico City)

I hope that the saints of new orleans win this football game

Chad (Las Vegas)

We're not even at halftime yet. You can't compare the DAL vs ATL game with this game, yet.

chat_ref (dont worry about it)

HEY!

Tom (NM)

Phillies up 6-1 top of the 4th

elwood (new orleans)

wait till the saints find there rhythm.atl is by far the best team we have played

Rob (Lake Charles, LA)

Brees seems to be in a TE kinda mood tonite

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

I see how it is. Miami didn't give them a run for the money....

Eric (NC)

New England will be coming to town

Chad (Las Vegas)

The Saints need to leave it all on the field this week. They have bye weeks the next 3 weeks.

Buzzmaster
  (9:29 PM)

Chad, in case you didn't see -- the Rams are on a win streak

Chad (Las Vegas)

TD Colston!

RICK (IRONWOOD)

PATS AND SAINTS 100 POINTS

Christopher (ATL)

Good Pass and catch!! You cant play better "D"

chat_ref (dont worry about it)

the saints are that good, so everyone needs to stop with this foolishness

Ben (Lafayette, La)

YES SIR!

elwood (new orleans)

touchdown!! ok miami was second. brendan

Buzzmaster
  (9:30 PM)

*driving the saints bandwagon*

Rob (Houston)

But, I don't think the Saints are Super Bowl good.

Rob (Indianapolis)

They took too much time. Now the game is only on pace for 84 total points.

Buzzmaster
  (9:32 PM)

Rob I know how you feel, I still need the Saints and/or Falcons to put up about 400 PPM (points per minute) for a correct prediction.

John W. (New Washington , IN)

Too many weapons, for good defense....that is a fact....

RICK (IRONWOOD)

THE RAMS THERE PLAYOFF BOUND

Jay (NY)

OK now just 36 more pts from Brees and I'm good.

fred (riverside,cal)

COWBOYS WILL BEAT SAINTS!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

TD Roddy white or tony gonzalez im callin it now

Buzzmaster
  (9:33 PM)

I'll go TD turner just to spite Brendan

alex (houston texas)

eagles will beat cowboys

julio elgin illinois [via mobile]

i think saint are going to loose?

Chad (Las Vegas)

I think Darren Sharper scores the next TD.

Dan (Miami)

How 'bout a QB sneak? TD Ryan?!?

Buzzmaster
  (9:34 PM)

Whoa! Brendan-Buzz-Dan-Chad off !

RICK (IRONWOOD)

I WIIL GO TD WHITE

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Quadruple Face Off?

Dan (Miami)

I'm feeling confident! He did it twice against the Dolphins!

Buzzmaster
  (9:36 PM)

Anyone taking excessive celebration?

Chad (Las Vegas)

Thank goodnes Jack didn't make a prediction!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

CATCH HIM !!!!!

Rob (Houston)

I think Touchdown Gonzales.

Jay (NY)

I do not approve of such things.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Buzz, the last thing I want is a Turner TD - just so you're wrong and an opportunity isn't wasted.

Dan (Miami)

What does the winner get??

Buzzmaster
  (9:37 PM)

I'm not sure, we banished the chat ref, remember?

Keith (Louisiana)

INT sharper

Tom (NM)

Jason Elam 33 yd FG

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Lame.

Dan (Miami)

looks like we're all wrong...

Buzzmaster
  (9:39 PM)

Even Tom!

Tom (NM)

Doink

Chad (Las Vegas)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH FG No good!

Dan (Miami)

even Tom was wrong!!!

Rob (Houston)

Dan-Buzz-Brendan-Chad can I be a part of your competition with my prediction of Gonzales getting the next touchdown?

Buzzmaster
  (9:40 PM)

I'll allow it.

Rob (Houston)

We may not be wrong!! No score.

Tom (NM)

no more predictions for me, I'm no Nostradamus

Eric (NC)

Boing!

RICK (IRONWOOD)

MIKE SMITH GETS TD

Dan (Miami)

so now for the Saints offense. i say TD Pierre Thomas

Buzzmaster
  (9:41 PM)

I say Colston

Todd (Louisville)

next TD will be jeremy shockey via drew brees. provided, of course, that mr. shockey has washed all that extra buttery popcorn stains off his hands

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

You should have said it more ambiguously Tom. Like: the winds of change will swirl, 2 armies fight for position, the one named E of Lam will attempt

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

I say Brees Int

Chad (Las Vegas)

I say Shockey.

Nostradamus (Now but I knew then)

People need to stop taking my name in vain.

Rob (Houston)

Dang Todd, I was going to go with Shockey. Brees seems to be in a Tight End mood tonight.

Dan (Miami)

my boy Pierre looking good!

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

who is controlling this chat? all i see is useless tribble with no decent football discussion. moderator...please step up!

Buzzmaster
  (9:43 PM)

welp, this is awkward.

RICK (IRONWOOD)

BUZZ SHOULD PUT THE PADS SHOW THEM YOUR MOVES

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Well.....

Chad (Las Vegas)

C'mon Saints eat up the clock. Score. Then you get the ball 1st in the 2nd half.

Tom (NM)

Will the real buzzmaster, please step up, please step up

Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)

ATL_FAN, The Chat Ref is controlling this chat. One more outburst like that and I will send you back to the days of 4-12 seasons.

Eric (Norleans)

atl fan here is football chat...saints will put up 45 on your pourous defense

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

I called it, did I not?

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

That will be the first, and most likely last, time I will approve of Chat Ref.

Aj ( Stockton, CA) [via mobile]

nice catch for ATL.

Dan (Miami)

Brendan!! PROPS!!

Chad (Las Vegas)

Maybe my Sharper prediction for next TD will come true.

Joe (Philly)

Wow!!! What A Pick

Gravity (All Over)

You defied me once again Grimes!

Michael Roescher (Massachusetts)

And an interception!!! Doubt those Falcons !!!!

Tom (NM)

Brendan, en fuego

Matt (IN)

Buzz, it's a good thing the Spelling Police isn't on patrol tonight. That's about all I can add.

Buzzmaster
  (9:47 PM)

Matt, I make sure to steer them way clear of all chats.

Rob (Houston)

INTERCEPTION! Gonzalez has the next touchdown via Ryan.

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

nice one, ed. i'll refrain from these comments in the future. wow...nice to see grimes step up (literally) and make a play. now, the falcons need to run, run and try to control the clock. they must shorten this game to have a chance.

Chad (Las Vegas)

Did anyone predict a safety?

Dan (Miami)

Buzz, we keeping the same TD predictions for this drive?

Buzzmaster
  (9:49 PM)

Yes the BBDC off will continue now.

elwood (new orleans)

thomas is in rare form tonight!! i think he will break one big

Rob (Houston)

Dan: I'm keeping Gonzalez as mine...

Chad (Las Vegas)

Quick someone predict a Reggie Bush return for a TD.

Dan (Miami)

i think we just cursed the falcons...

Buzzmaster
  (9:51 PM)

The Falcons = definitly under a chat curse

Rob (Houston)

Maybe...

Rob (Indianapolis)

I predict the unpredictable.

Rob (Houston)

Very insightful Rob.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

I don't know what to make of this game. It's fun to watch - but then - it isn't quite what I expected.

Chad (Las Vegas)

I predict me stuffing myself with Halloween candy during halftime.

Rob (Houston)

Yeah, it looked like it was going to be extremely high scoring...yet nothing has happened since the first quarter.

Brad (NO)

No Lofton = NO running all over ATL even more.

Keith (Louisiana)

Typical Saints-Falcons game

Joe (Philly)

Chad you were suppsoed to give the candy out not keep it for your self

Eric (NC)

fun to watch tho, great game so far

Quentin (Green Bay)

The Buzz Curse. I like it.

Internet Whiney Guy (Cyberspace)

This game is boring!! Cmon Buzz, do something!!

Buzzmaster
  (9:54 PM)

Eek! *starts handing out poptarts*

RICK (IRONWOOD)

TD TIME

Rob (Houston)

Haha, not only Buzz. We all cursed them.

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

amazing...i do not think the NO receivers have dropped a pass. amazing passing game. i can only dream of the falcons having a decent #2 receiver.

Jay (NY)

Do they make bacon poptarts? If not, why in the world don't they?

Rob (Indianapolis)

I predict (nevermind, keeping it to myself.)

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Hurry up and score NO, let Atlanta get back on the field!

AtLiENxTremE (*ATL*AnTa*)

Michael Jenkins needs to set it up! Otherwise we are on the market for a new WR

Chad (Las Vegas)

Brees has 177 yards passing, so far, in the 1st half. Darn INT and Fumble or it would be 21-7 Saints.

Bryan (Atlanta)

Bacon filling and syrup frosting, I'll take that pop tart.

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

the falcons have gotten the turnovers they need, but dropping a 3rd down pass and missing a 30-something yard field goal will not get it done.

elwood (new orleans)

thomas up the middle for a touchdown

Chris (Minneapolis)

I think Ryan Leaf scores the next TD

Tom (NM)

Drew "Bacon" Brees...It's all good

Buzzmaster
  (9:58 PM)

I really wish one NFL team's mascot was "bacon"

Buzzmaster
  (9:59 PM)

Think of all the posibilities!

Rob (Indianapolis)

So would you try to fry a bacon pop tart??Fantasy football, brees 9, white 6. I am still up by 27 :-)

Mike (Greenville)

Devery Henderson sucks I would have got both feet in

Rob (Lake Charles, LA)

That was an outstanding catch by henderson

elwood (new orleans)

in bounds

Chad (Las Vegas)

The Redskins have the HOGS. That's pretty close to Bacon.

John W. (New Washington , IN)

Bacon fill and Syrup.... what a breakfest.....

courtney (lexington,ky)

NO getting ready to score

Chad (Las Vegas)

QB draw.

Dan (Miami)

Pierre Thomas time!!!

Chad (Las Vegas)

Make that 201 yards passing in the 1st half for Brees.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Come on, hurry up!

Jay (NY)

Play action to Shockey.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Finally.

Mike (Greenville)

Devery Henderson sucks, I would have scored a TD on that play, then on the extra point, I would have snapped the ball to myself, held it and kicked it through goalposts.

Buzzmaster
  (10:01 PM)

Mike, I think the Bucs could use your services.

Jay (NY)

Or easiest touchdown ever. One or the other.

Dan (Miami)

no one picked reggie to score!! LOL

Chris (Minneapolis)

Any chance a team picks up Chris Chambers

Chad (Forest Grove, OR)

TD!!!

Rob (Houston)

Is that 3 80-yard scoring drives? Pattern...

Brad (Europe)

The Saints really are the Greatest Show on Turf 2.0.

Rob (Lake Charles, LA)

And we get the ball to start the half

Dan (Miami)

Miami fans are pleading for Chambers..we need someone..anyone

Keith (Louisiana)

Lets go with onside kick!

Joe (Philly)

Ok now we can honestly say no one saw Bush scoring a TD

Mike (Greenville)

The Bucs can;t afford me

Keelan (The Steel City.. Home of 6 Superbowls)

Buzz .... what's your early prediction of the Steelers vs. Broncos game next week

Buzzmaster
  (10:05 PM)

Keelan (The STeel City .. Home of 6 SuperBowls) I have a feeling you don't want to know my pick

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Wow. Keelan - you've really outdone yourself.

Rob (Houston)

Steelers win. Easy.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

2 minute drill, get gonzalez and white in this.

james (N.O.)

Game over.

frank (cleveland)

ok guys. i dont have cable due to a tree falling, so I cant watch the game. Hows Ryab looking?

Buzzmaster
  (10:06 PM)

Yikes, who wants to break it to frank?

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Good timing Frank! He just threw a pick 6!

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

....and that will do it. now the NO defense scores!

Keelan (The Steel City.. Home of 6 Superbowls)

Wow this game is over.

Dan (Miami)

pick 6 for NO frank lol. not so good for Ryan

frank (cleveland)

ha! i can take any bad news... im a browns fan

Chad (Las Vegas)

That's what 5 or 6 defensive TD's for the Saints so far this year?

Brendan (Louisville, KY (River City.. Home of the Kentucky Derby

42 seconds for some fantasy points.

Keelan (The Steel City.. Home of 6 Superbowls)

Can someone tell me if NO got a new defensive Cordinator? What is the biggest difference between last year and this year?

Keith (Louisiana)

5 int's for TD's by the Saints this year so far

Tom (NM)

Phillies 6-2 bottom of the 6th

Behind Enemy Lines (Decatur, GA)

HAHA at least you're not for the Skins, Frank...And with the Falcon's composure deteriorating, their D tiring out against the monster Saints offense, what do you predict the second-half offensive production of the Saints to be, Buzz?

Buzzmaster
  (10:10 PM)

infinity and beyond

Quentin (Green Bay)

NO! The Saints can't win!!!

Brendan (Louisville, KY (River City.. Home of the Kentucky Derby

Wait, there is baseball on?

Chad (Las Vegas)

The Saints will run the ball in the 2nd half.

Brad (Europe)

Saints will score again this half.

Rob (Houston)

Ryan looks like he is about to breakdown and cry.

Geoff (New Zealand)

Didn't the saints defense outscore the offence 3 weeks or so ago? Possible Saint/Saints superbowl?!

Ank (Parkersburg)

Sharper and Greer and a new D Coordinator... Lots of blitzing.

Erik (Roseville, CA)

How was that not pass interference on Vilma. He hit White before the ball was intercepted?

Brendan (Louisville, KY (River City.. Home of the Kentucky Derby

YESSSS!!!!!!!!

Buzzmaster
  (10:12 PM)

Brendan how many points do you need?

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

I need a field goal from Elam to seal up a win.

Buzzmaster
  (10:12 PM)

Cal, unfortunately this chat might have made that an impossibility.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

15

Karl (TX)

I had then game on pause so i'm a bit behind but when did the NFL go to the one foot in rule because that was no catch by Henderson

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

No, don't throw to that tight end.

Chad (Las Vegas)

What about 3 XP's from Elam? HAHAHA that's funny. I can't say that with a straight face.

Quentin (Green Bay)

Buzz, which team do you think has the better food?

Chad (Las Vegas)

1 knee, or elbow = 2 feet. It was a catch Karl.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

This game clock is out of control. This is like the fourth time!

Buzzmaster
  (10:14 PM)

Quentin, I'll take the home team.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

5th time. Are you kidding me?

Chad (Las Vegas)

Another pick 6.

Geoff (New Zealand)

Everyone back on the bandwagon

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

Elam almost made my head explode when he hit the uprights on that 34 yarder he missed earlier.

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

GO! GO! GO!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

14 points.

Keelan (Pittsburgh)

Buzz what's your thoughts on Miles Austin? Could he really be as good as he seems.

Buzzmaster
  (10:16 PM)

Definitely. And if not, I still like him more than Roy E.

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

Here we go!!

Greg (boston)

So who's worse, Jason Elam or these officials?

Joe (Philly)

What was that? Does he think he is playing soccer?

sanco (texas)

Miles Austin is as good as he seems

Chad (Las Vegas)

Matt Ryan's 1st half QB rating is 43.5...Drew Brees 111.0.

victor (santo domingo)

two missed fg

RICK (IRONWOOD)

SAINTS ARE MARCHING

Buzzmaster
  (10:18 PM)

Cal, hope your head didn't explode. We just don't have the budget for cleanup on that.

dude (here)

another horrible Failcon drive

sanco (texas)

ive been drafting miles austin since 2007 on my fantasy team waiting for T.O. to get out the way

Quentin (Green Bay)

Yes, good ol' Cajun food.

Jose (Albuquerque, NM)

Go falcons

Randy (St Louis)

#51 for NO should have been flagged for pass interference on the last NO interception. He was blocking the receiver beyond 5 yards

Ken (IN)

This is so much better then the Brown Bag years! where is the benson boogie now?

Quentin (Green Bay)

Is dude (here) related to dave (home)?

Keelan (Pittsburgh)

I got Miles Austin and Chris Johnson in a trade for Brandon Jacobs and Tory Holt 2 weeks ago. It turned my fantasy year around

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Yay, Fins, sweepin' the Jets.

Joe (Philly)

Jason Elam kicks one of the best soccer kicks I have seen in a while and no one shouts GOOOOOOOOAL. That's not right

Rex Ryan (NYC)

Brendan that is enough out of you

Chad (Las Vegas)

Saints also have over 100 rushing yards for the game, already.

Greg (boston)

This Clifford Lee is pretty solid...Being a Falcons fan sux, even if I called this in the MB, they do not play good teams well

Buzzmaster
  (10:24 PM)

Buzz break. BRB.

Chad (Las Vegas)

Buzz is back. And the Falcons are still mediocre. I said it in the First Take chat this morning. Falcons finish the season 9-7.

Buzzmaster
  (10:32 PM)

Back, what are the odds that the Falcons comeback and win?

SNOOP DOGG (COMPTON)

0

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Falcons are looking a little angry right now.

Brad (Europe)

0

Buzzmaster
  (10:33 PM)

OK ... that settles that one.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Small chance they come back and win. Maybe if they throw it to White and Gonzo they have a chance.

Dan (Miami)

Chad, i agree. They play decent at home, their defense is better in their own dome, but they just can't get it done some times

frank (cleveland)

wow, glad i played ryan this week...

Trevor (Green Bay)

not very good if the officials keep missing blatant pass interference calls...

Ken (IN)

What are the odds of a colts vs Saints super bowl?

Quentin (Green Bay)

They'll make a comeback, Buzz! I BELIEVE!

P (Atlanta)

any word on Lance Moore being out?

Chad (Las Vegas)

Maybe if the ball wasn't thrown 10 yard to the right of the receiver the ref would have seen the interference.

SNOOP DOGG (COMPTON)

BUT YOU NEVER NOW

Buzzmaster
  (10:35 PM)

It's only a two score game.

Quentin (Green Bay)

Ken, the odds are better than a Bucs vs. Browns Super Bowl.

Buzzmaster
  (10:37 PM)

A bucs browns super bowl ... may the best kicker win?

brian (Bogalusa)

What are the odds of the saints going to the super bowl?

Joe (Philly)

Falcons have the same chance of winning as does Jason Elam making a feild goal tonight

Buzzmaster
  (10:38 PM)

That's not good for CAL

Buzzmaster
  (10:38 PM)

SERIOUSLY??

SNOOP DOGG (COMPTON)

WOW

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

YESS YESS YESS YESS YESS!!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

WHO DAT? WHO DAT? WHO RODDY WHITE?

Dan (Miami)

uh oh..its a ball game!!

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

that's more like it...nice job roddy and matt

sanco (texas)

RODDY!!!

Buzzmaster
  (10:39 PM)

Geeeeez. People jumped ship a little too early.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

2 points, guys, 2 points and the improbable happens.

Kevin (Nawlins)

we're just gettin startes

Mike Smith (Superdome)

Awesome, Utley homered again.

Rob (Indianapolis)

Wow, that may just give the the hight Fantasy Football score for the week in my league. :-)

Mike Smith (Superdome)

Wow, and Ibanez just went deep.

elwood (new orleans)

game on atl fans. go saints

Brian (Bogalusa)

Drew Brees going to march down the field and get a touchdown for N.O.

Scott (Louisiana)

that wasn't a push off?

Buzzmaster
  (10:42 PM)

Momentum just got a shout out.

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

falcon's D needs another stop...big possession here

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Man he was all over him, HAHA, glad that wasn't called back.

sanco (texas)

wow so they made a bad call when roddy didnt get his interference now they let roddy push off

SNOOP DOGG (COMPTON)

BREES TIME

cURTIS (Lithonia GA)

lets go falcons

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

I missed the TD for White, did Elam at least make the extra point.

frank (cleveland, ohio)

howd atl score that last score?

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Barely.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Matt Ryan deep 68 yards to White.

Quentin (Green Bay)

The Falcons are playing like (Favre/Pulse/Rastall). Just pick one, Buzz.

Buzzmaster
  (10:45 PM)

Favre, always Favre.

Buzzmaster
  (10:45 PM)

Sometimes bacon.

Roddy White (New Orleans)

I did not push off on that last play.

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

Barely? I believe it.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

I'm with you Roddy - whatever you say.

victor (santo domingo)

all saint's receiver catching

Drew Brees (New Orleans)

I am going to score a TD on this drive

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Oh yah, Drew?

Ken (IN)

This game is like someone turned on the red zone channel. who needs the middle of the field

Buzzmaster
  (10:48 PM)

wind?

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

yes, a miss!

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

fg attempt = small victory (for now)

Dan (Miami)

it was the WIND!!!!

Joe (Philly)

Can anyone here go kick a field goal for these teams?

Brad (Europe)

3 misses in a Dome = Spooky.

Rob (Indianapolis)

I DID predict the unpredictable. :-)

Scott (Louisiana)

small victory. saints by at least 14. my prediction

Joe (Philly)

Buzz are you turning on the force field generator when they try to kick field goals?

Buzzmaster
  (10:51 PM)

*turns off wind machine*

Greg (boston)

It's good to see Matt Ryan realize Roddy White is probably a good choice

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

73- 71. Thanks for the support guys.

Rob (Indianapolis)

And that catch seals my Fantasy leagu high score this week.

Tom (NM)

Air Conditioner is on high tonight in the dome

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

turner, turner, turner...must have the run game to keep this game close

Jamarcus (Oakland)

Hey! Is this thing on?

Brian (Bogalusa)

saints defense made a stop this time

Dan (Miami)

Jamarcus!! You workin' on that aim???

Mike (Greenville)

Roddy White fumbles twice in the next 14 minutes

Buzzmaster
  (10:54 PM)

I wonder what the most missed FGs in a NFL game is?

Mike (Greenville)

6

SNOOP DOGG (COMPTON)

5

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

He lies, don't believe him!

Greg (boston)

8-4 Phillies, whatever you do, DON'T BRING IN LIDGE

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Brees is the worst scrambling QB I've ever seen.

Tre (Atlanta)

Missed pass interference call will come back to haunt atlanta

Brian (Bogalusa)

he is a pocket passer.

Scott Norwood (Buffalo)

You only need to miss 1 to be remembered

Matt (Toccoa, GA)

Final score will be 42-38 falcons.

Quentin (Green Bay)

No Brendan, that would be Favre.

Jamarcus (Oakland)

When am I going to play on Monday Night?

victor (santo domingo)

lidge in the 9th Philli

Joe (Philly)

Scott if that is true I guess we will never forget Elam

Dan (Miami)

Jamarcus, you'll play when your passer rating is above 50.0 lol

Quentin (Green Bay)

When Buzz loses weight, Jamarcus.

Buzzmaster
  (10:59 PM)

Hey! I have big bones, OK

Jamarcus (Oakland)

That will never happen!

Gary (Cleveland, GA)

CUT ELAM

Buzzmaster
  (11:00 PM)

Wow don't mess with Gary (Cleveland, Ga)

Tim (Baton Rouge)

a weakness of the saints offense ? - no wildcat with Drew ?

Ben (Baltimore)

Saints SuperBowl?

Quentin (Green Bay)

Slightly rotund?

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

No Saints superbowl.

Sid (Summerville, GA)

Gary doesn't play no games. haha

Quentin (Green Bay)

Gary, shootin' to be the Browns next G.M.

Drew Brees (New Orleans)

I am going to do less passing because I know Alanta's pass defense is bad, and passing would make sense.

Buzzmaster
  (11:01 PM)

FIELD GOAL TIME! Rev up the wind machine!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Oh yah, Drew?

Chad (Las Vegas)

Tha woudl be a 85 yd FG.

Buzzmaster
  (11:02 PM)

Chad, you gotta admit, you'd like to see it.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Punt time - come on Buzz... that would be a crazy field goal.

Buzzmaster
  (11:03 PM)

Favre could do it.

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

Atlanta is going to march down and Elam is going to shank one wide left....soccer style!

Sid (Summerville, GA)

i second that buzz

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

If you had a kicker that could kick a ball that far would you attempt it knowing that if he missed the other team would have good field position.

Quentin (Green Bay)

That would be the GREATEST field goal attempt of all-time. Sean Payton would be my hero. Well, after Favre of course.

Chad (Las Vegas)

You best turn that wind machine in the right direction. I would love to see it after Elam stole the record from Demsey in that thin air.

Sid (Summerville, GA)

touche Brendan

Tim (Baton Rouge)

Maybe if the wind machine is pointed in the right direction .... hmmm ? 70 yards?

Joe (Philly)

Ok if Elam makes another soccer kick someone has to shout GOOOOOOOAL!!!!!!!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Wow, nice catch and run.

Sid (Summerville, GA)

Two truly great quarterbacks at work here tonight.

Quentin (Green Bay)

Punt-o-Meter: 4

Quentin (Green Bay)

Not as great as BRETT FAVRE, Sid!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Mobile Matt

Tom (NM)

Couldn't Doug Flutie drop kick it 70 yards?

Chad (Las Vegas)

Saints need a turnover here.

Pierre Thomas (Bench)

How am I feeling?

Sid (Summerville, GA)

Of course. That's a given, Quentin.

Tim (Baton Rouge)

Which defense is more exhausted by the end of the 4'th - possibly determines game.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

the 4th qtr.... things might get crazy

ATL_FAN (Atlanta)

keep the ground game going falcons...let's go!

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

Things are falling into place for an Elam field goal. I still believe in you Elam!

Rob (Indianapolis)

Brett Favre could punt Chuck Norris through the uprights.

Greg (boston)

If this goes to OT, do either team bother for a FG?

Cody Ralph (Wauzeka,WI) [via mobile]

Hey Buzz! how do u think the Patriots and Saints matchup is going to be?

Buzzmaster
  (11:10 PM)

I'd say decent

Brad (Europe)

Patriots will be blitzed out of the Dome.

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

Alright, one more down to go before the Elam FG!

elwood (tampa)

sharper pick for a score,saints

Chad (Las Vegas)

Saints have an almost 7 minute advantage in time of possession. Hopefully that pays off in the 4th quarter with ATL's D being tired.

Liu Kang (Mortal Kombat)

Matt Ryan must FINISH THEM

Gary (Cleveland, GA)

DONT KICK

Greg (boston)

uh oh, FG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buzzmaster
  (11:12 PM)

did mike smith have another option?

Joe (Philly)

WOW!!! What a catch!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Wow, he caught that? No way!

Chad (Las Vegas)

That should be reviewed.

Mike Smith (New Orleans)

I'm going for two.

Chad (Las Vegas)

He didn't catch it!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Nope, he didn't get that.

elwood (tampa)

no he did not catch that

Brian (Bogalusa)

challenge the play!

RICK (IRONWOOD)

NO CATCH

Jamarcus (Oakland)

I wish we had Roddy White... *heavy sigh*

Brad (Europe)

Incompleteeeeeeeeeee.

Greg (boston)

That is a catch, I find that inconclusive

elwood (new orleans)

drop ball !!!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

You have Darrius Heyward Bey

Jimmy (New orleans)

NO CATCH! NO TD

Jamarcus (Oakland)

That doesn't make feel any better Brendan.

elwood (new orleans)

told ya

sanco (texas)

Darrius heyward bey is going to be a superstar

Quentin (Green Bay)

For the love of Favre!

Tim (Baton Rouge)

Saints blitz not working - bad sign.

Buzzmaster
  (11:19 PM)

MOMENT OF TRUTH

Brad (Europe)

FG block for TD.

Tom (NM)

Buzz, you forgot to flip the switch

Al Davis (Insanity)

Next year, we're taking a kicker in the 1st round.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

he did it

Gary (Cleveland, GA)

Final Score Predictions.. ???

Joe (Philly)

Buzz so it was you and that wind machine making Elam look bad shame on you

Buzzmaster
  (11:21 PM)

tell no one.

Tom (NM)

Brett Favre would take 4 plays to make it 2 possessions.

Greg (boston)

56-55 Favre

Garrett Hickey (Stamford,CT)

It's all about the run game.

Chad (Las Vegas)

38-28 Saints will win.

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

Elam comes through for me, alright. Now I need to find a new kicker for next week.

Buzzmaster
  (11:24 PM)

Wow! Momentum shifted

Greg (boston)

HUGE TO BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Wow, Atlanta has the ball!

Momentum (superdome)

get on my back

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Momentum sobered up and drove to the stadium.

Andrew Brees (Our own 30)

I disagree, good sir. There is no conclusive evidence that Atlanta recovered that ball.

elwood (new orleans)

thomas got the ball back

Rob (Indianapolis)

How's things on the bandwagon?

Buzzmaster
  (11:27 PM)

Still on it, but tempted to jump off

Chad (Las Vegas)

Phillies just won.

Ottis (Mn)

Sadness will prevail for NO

Jimmy (New Orleans)

Replay will show that Thomas recovered the ball and Atlanta scrummed it away.

TJ (suffolk, VA)

what is goin on

Buzzmaster
  (11:28 PM)

MACHINE

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

That dude is running angry.

Pete (NC)

Sorry I'm late. Something about a baseball game going late.

Joe (Philly)

Ok how did the Saints not tackel him?

Pete (NC)

My goodness, Momentum must be very confused tonight.

Momentum (superdome)

I'm fickle

Joe (Philly)

Nice pick

Jimmy (New Orleans)

INTERCEPTION!!!!

elwood (new orleans)

now saints time\

Brad (Europe)

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Intercepted. Momentum.

Tim (Baton Rouge)

Turnovers - so important. Anymore this game?

Maurice Mentum (N'awlins)

sup y'all! I'm back!

Eric (NC)

i guess the football outsiders metric is right on the Saints 24th ranked run defense. Nice int tho

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

this is a crazy 4th qtr

Rex Grossman (Parts Unknown)

Nice Job Ryan, I couldn't have done it better myself.

Ottis (Mn)

looks like both defences are playing better

Jamarcus (Oakland)

Rex! long time no see! Are you still in the league?

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

poor call

Buzzmaster
  (11:33 PM)

Bigger miss: That call or Elams kicks?

Greg (boston)

No Rex, you're confused, that pass was tipped, yours were just straight to the defense

Jimmy (New Orleans)

COLSTON!

Joe (Philly)

Nice power slam tackle by Atlanta there

Rex (Statesboro GA)

wwe style

elwood (new orleans)

saints time

Rex Grossman (Parts Unknown)

You got me Greg, plus the defense usually ran my picks in for a TD as well.

Tom (NM)

another great catch

Brad (Europe)

ARE YOU SERIOUS!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

Wow what a catch

Pete (NC)

When will ATL stop putting a LB on Shockey?

CAL (St. Paul, MN)

Colston looks like a man among boys out there.

Shawn (Hawaii)

That catch by Shockey is why he was the biggest steal ever

Tim (Baton Rouge)

Drew is great - but sure doesn't get hurt by great concentration by his receivers

Brad (Europe)

Shocky played well last few games. Clutch catches.

Pierre (N'awlins)

VIVA LA SAINTS!!!!!!

Tom (NM)

Too many weapons

Jimmy (New Orleans)

TOUCHDOWN!!!

Chad (Las Vegas)

11 pt lead. Could the Saints win every game so far this year by double digits?

Chad (Las Vegas)

C'mon Matt Ryan. Throw another INT.

Cody Ralph (Wauzeka,WI) [via mobile]

Buzz, Tom Brady or Drew Brees?

Buzzmaster
  (11:45 PM)

Cody -- Easy Breesy

Rich (Pittsburgh)

Dear Fantasy Santa, I'm still down by 13 points and could use a 40-yard TD pass from Brees to Pierre Thomas.

cali boy (long beach)

yes @ chad

Ryan (Peoria, IL)

You can't leave Peyton Manning out of a question like that!

Shinyoung Kim ((Edmond))

i could also use help from fantasy santa being down by 10, need roddy white to have like a 50 yard touchdown catch to win

Dean (Indianapolis)

Colts/Saints Superbowl!

Chad (Las Vegas)

Ohhhhh. I almost called it.

Brady (Looking at 3 rings)

Uh, Buzz?

Buzzmaster
  (11:48 PM)

fummmmmblitius?

Chad (Las Vegas)

No fumble. Tuck rule.

Pete (NC)

Incomplete.

tom brady's off week (fantasy team)

my team could really use that Roddy White TD/no TD

Jamarcus (Oakland)

Buzz, Jake Delhomme or Me?

Buzzmaster
  (11:50 PM)

I will recommend some earmuffs before I make this pick, Jamarcus

Brad (Europe)

Saints Defence taking over again, just like last week.

Chad (Las Vegas)

Either way helps the Saints a bit. Uses ATL's last timeout.

mark (idaho)

Jamarcus or quinn is the question

Chat Ref (In the house)

Sorry I have missed this whole thing I was caught up in an Ed Houchili meeting on how to explain things more than they should be.

Greg (boston)

if that call isn't overturned, I will boycott the NFL for the remainder of the year.

Shinyoung (Edmond)

i would take my high school quarterback over jamarcus russell

Greg (boston)

um, chad, winning a challenge does not use a TO buddy

Buzzmaster
  (11:52 PM)

Greg (boston) glad to still have you with us

Jamarcus (Oakland)

Hey! I'm right here!

Greg (boston)

good, I would have hated to miss the rest of the season

Jason (Columbus)

I really dislike the tuck rule.

Jake (Salt Lake)

Can atlanta get a TD in before the end?

Chad (Las Vegas)

Can they Yes. Will they No.

Greg (boston)

no Jake

Jason (Columbus)

4th and 10. This game is over.

Jimmy (New Orleans)

No TD for the Falcons. Saints Win!

Brendan (Louisville, KY)

GG

Chad (Las Vegas)

Saints need to hit the 40 pt. mark.

Amanda (Biloxi, MS )

I'm gonnna need one more Saints touchdown.. jdfkldajfkljs!!!

Jimmy (New Orleans)

INCOMPLETE! Saints Win!

Jamarcus (Oakland)

I would have made a better throw than that.

Pete (NC)

Laugh if you want, but the Panthers will be the first to beat the Saints.

elwood (new orleans)

good night !! saints win 7-0

Buzzmaster
  (11:57 PM)

Better undefeated team: Saints or Colts?

brandon (honolulu)

Colts!!!! U

mudge (parts un-Dallas)

Buzz - Saints

Pete (NC)

Saints > Colts.

Dean (Indianapolis)

Colts, better defence

Patrick J. (Orlando, FL)

Dallas Cowboys

Jason (Texas)

Saints.

mark (idaho)

saints easy, who have the colts beat?

Keith (Louisiana)

Saints!

Jake (Salt Lake)

Saints

shinyoung (edmond)

colts better qb, better running game, better recievers, pretty much better everything

Jamarcus (Oakland)

Wait, we aren't undefeated?

Ben (Boston)

Better undefeated team? after they play the Pats- neither

Tom (NM)

I'd like to see that game but I lean towards the Colts

Ottis (Mn)

I think the Saint offence is just scary. and there Defence is not to bad either.

Jon (ARK)

Breezy in NO.

Tom (Scotland)

Hmm, tough. Both teams looked mortal this week, I'd have to say Colts right now with the loss of Ellis and the clear effect he was having on the Saints run D, as Turner has sliced through us pretty good.

Jason (Columbus)

Wow. What a terrible fumble.

Jimmy (New Orleans)

Bell was down!! Forward progress stopped.

Greg (boston)

you CAN'T rule forward progress on replay

Jason (Columbus)

Seriously, put your hands around the ball and fall to the ground. What is an extra yard when you're ahead by 11 with less than 2 minutes to go?

Pete (NC)

This could get interesting.

Chad (Las Vegas)

Just another opportunity for Ryan to throw another INT.

wes (baltimore)

he was still falling forward. fumble

elwood (new orleans)

give atl the ball this one is done

Jimmy (New Orleans)

GO RYAN! Throw an INT! Sharper hasn't caught one yet!

Buzzmaster
  (12:06 AM)

CATCH

Greg (boston)

another replay

Pete (NC)

Completion.

djp (Lansing, Mi)

white caught that ball with both feet inbounds that last poss.

Joe (Philly)

I expected a blowout and Atlanta made a game of this, hats off to Atlanta

Jason (Columbus)

I hope Atlanta scores a touchdown. It would make the end of this game very interesting.

Greg (boston)

he's in bounds

Brad (Europe)

ATL could theoretically still win. Quick TD now, onside recover.

Greg (boston)

if these officials had their eyes open, if Jason Elam remembered how to kick field goals...Lots of what ifs

Ryan (Peoria, IL)

These guys in Atlanta have a ton of heart, and and ton of finish in them. Good on them, whether they win or lot that shows a lot about what kind of team they are.

Tom (NM)

this game has more great catches than I have seen in a long time

Buzzmaster
  (12:09 AM)

TO the endzone!

Buzzmaster
  (12:10 AM)

... or not?

TJ (suffolk,va)

How about those Saints!

Ryan (Peoria, IL)

That was an interesting play call.

Jimmy (New Orleans)

8-pt. game. On-side kick is coming. Everyone knows it.

Joe (Philly)

A bit late but Elam remembed he isn't playing soccer

Patrick J. (Orlando, FL)

Cowboys/Bills revisited?

Buzzmaster
  (12:13 AM)

NO WAY

Jimmy (New Orleans)

WOW!!!

Ryan (Peoria, IL)

What a fight!

Pete (NC)

woooooooooow

Ottis (Mn)

unreal

Jason (Columbus)

Falcons got it.

Joe (Philly)

Wow Atlanta recovered

sam (MS)

oh come on

Dean (Indy)

Yes!!

Greg (boston)

Still won't win but this is absurd

Ottis (Mn)

lol

Brad (Europe)

Unbelievable game, regardless of outcome.

Jimmy (New Orleans)

WHAT DID I SAY!! Sharper has it!!

Ryan (Peoria, IL)

There's Sharper's INT... Great game!

Chad (Las Vegas)

7th INT of the season for Sharper.

Ottis (Mn)

What a game

Buzzmaster
  (12:16 AM)

Wow ... what a game is right!

Pete (NC)

Should have taken one more short shot, but that was a great game.

djp (Lansing, Mi)

Great Game Thanks MNF

Keith (Louisiana)

Finally!

Tom (NM)

Wow another good MNF game. See you next week ...Steelers vs Broncos

Buzzmaster
  (12:17 AM)

Thanks everyone for a great chat! See you next week! What a finish!
