Monday Night FB chat!

Buzzmaster
  (12:18 PM)

Hello football fans! We'll be here each week starting at 7:30 p.m. ET to chat live up to and during the Monday Night Football game! Get your best questions and comments ready and submit them below!

Bill barnwell
  (7:31 PM)

Alright, let's get it going. Steelers and Broncos tonight! Going to be a good one.

aarjav patel (Arizona)

im a steelers fan and i wanna know if ryan clark is going to play

Bill Barnwell
  (7:34 PM)

Ryan Clark is out, and it's a good thing. Even if Clark was the best player on the field, you shouldn't have to sacrifice your internal organs to suit up. It's refreshing to see Clark encouraged to sit, just like it's encouraging to see Brian Westbrook on the sidelines after his concussion. That's a really, really good trend.

Robert Phillips (Tampa, fl.)

I heard Suzy Kolber, mention that both Team best, Defensive Ends, Broncos Dumervile and Steelers, Harrison wear # 92, But I have never heard anyone ask them if it was some sort of Tribute to the Great Reggie White # 92 perhaps the Best defensive End of All Time?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:36 PM)

Dumervil and Harrison are both outside linebackers, although Dumervil came out of school as a defensive end. I have no idea if either of them chose #92; for one, Harrison was once a borderline player that didn't get to choose if he made the roster, let alone what number he wore. He would have worn an irrational number to get on the field.

Jamal (Terre Haute,Indiana)

Will Ty Law make a differnce to the defense.

Bill Barnwell
  (7:38 PM)

No, although the guy he's replacing, Jack Williams, was doing awful work out of the slot. Ty Law hasn't been a corner of any note for four years now, but because he was once very good, his signing each year is worthy of some hype. The Jets signed him last year in midseason -- do you recall him having any impact?

Phil (New Orleans)

During the first possessions, when the individual players say their names and college (or high school), does that mean they are graduates of that school or just attended it?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:40 PM)

I'm pretty sure the standard is just wherever they attended. I don't think Randy Moss could say "Notre Dame", for example.

jeff (fairfax, va)

lets say a player, Tommie H., no no no that's too obvious, T. Harris, decides to punch a player during the game. What makes him think that he can land a good punch through a face mask?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:41 PM)

He thinks he has Olin Kreutz superpowers and can break the jaw of anything that moves?

Ryan Pasco (Dayton Ohio)

I am a huge Eagles fan, but I have something to add to the Come On Man segment: 4th and 9, down 7, 4:00 mins to go, ZERO timeouts, 52-yard field goal: C-O-M-E O-N M-A-N!

Bill Barnwell
  (7:42 PM)

I don't think there's a right decision there, just a series of wrong ones. You're hoping your defense can stop the Cowboys or you're trying to convert a fourth-and-long. And since Freddie Mitchell's not on the roster, you'd have to go with the former, right? I'd have punted.

nick pascullo (spring hill florida)

u guys always do a very good job. do u think the jets shonne green even though takign the place of leon washington can have a great year which then will take the place of thomas jones next year

Bill Barnwell
  (7:45 PM)

I think Greene can take the place of Thomas Jones, sure. I don't think Greene can replace Washington because their skillsets are different; Washington's a great receiver out of the backfield and a good return guy, and that's not Greene's game.Truthfully, I think you can go buy a Patriots jersey with Washington on it today. He's exactly the sort of player they look for, versatile and undervalued (because of the injury).

lawrence taylor (virginia)

Any predictions on Heath Miller tonight I need him to score 23 fantasy points

Bill Barnwell
  (7:47 PM)

I predict, unless you're in a league where you get four points per reception or something, Heath Miller will not be scoring 23 fantasy points. Sorry man.

John (KC)

Do you think that a team with no recent track record of success, with not a whole lot of talent in their org, would be smart to draft Tim Tebow, build a big offensive line, and just let him be a spread style player in the NFL in some form of the wildcat? It seems that a team will take him and then try and convert him into a pocket passer or waste him at TE. Couldn't you build a team around him in the NFL?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:49 PM)

I really don't know. That might not be the answer you're looking for John, but it's the truth, and I don't think anyone really knows. Tebow's an incredibly unique player playing in a very distinct system, one that's been employed to some extent in New England, but also relies on factors (like the splits of the offensive linemen) that would almost assuredly cause disaster at the pro level. The closest comparison to Tebow, as a multiple-year quarterback under Urban Meyer, is Alex Smith. And they're not particularly similar in any way. So I can't say with any authority that you could build a team around him in the NFL. Someone will probably try, though.

Carlos (Atlanta)

Larry Johnson could be the new Corey Dillion, given a second chance on a good O-line and produce

Bill Barnwell
  (7:51 PM)

Corey Dillon was a player who had grown frustrated by losing. Larry Johnson was a malcontent, even when the Chiefs were good (remember that he was nearly cut after his rookie year). Of course, he'd benefit from moving to a good offensive line. That was how he achieved his success in the first place.

Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)

Chris Johnson gets 24 and 25 carries in consecutive wins. Let's say he averages 25 carries and gets between 5.5 and 6 yards per carry. That would get him 2000 yards plus. Do you think that could happen or will defenses start stacking the run and try to let Vince beat them???

Bill Barnwell
  (7:53 PM)

He won't average 25 carries, though. The only reason he's averaging so many carries is _because_ the Titans are winning, not the other way around. When Tennessee's losing by two touchdowns, as they were a bunch before the bye, they had to throw to catch up.

Matt (Pittsburgh)

I know that Denver has a long history of having a solid O-line. Should the Steelers be worried about Moreno, especially with Aaron Smith out for the year?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:55 PM)

The Broncos are also missing right tackle Ryan Harris, though, which will create problems for them. Backs just don't have very good games against the Steelers, even very good ones.

Brian (Campbell)

With Larry Johnson finally seperating from the Cheifs. Who do you think will pick him up? The eagles might be needing somone to fill in with Westbrooks injuries? Do you think he becomes a better back out of that organization?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:57 PM)

I can't imagine that the Eagles would have any interest whatsoever in Johnson, a one-dimensional, overrated back with an attitude problem and a hyperinflated sense of value. I would say Raiders, but that would be too obvious, right?I could see him with the Redskins if they're concerned about Clinton Portis's concussion. Even if they're not, actually, maybe just in the hopes to turn the newspapers in Washington away from how bad the management is.

matt (iowa)

if kyle orton starts playing poorly or mediocre do u think the broncos might try to draft a quarterback early in the draft? or draft one at all?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:59 PM)

Maybe, but I don't think Kyle Orton's going to start playing poorly! I wrote an article about that today for ESPN Insider, which you can read at http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/insider/news/story?id=4629618.

Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)

So you're telling us that Tennessee has given up on the run too early when they're losing. That their best offensive weapon isn't being utilized. That they're panicking and feel the need to throw to catch up. Because Vince Young can't throw they're forced to run when behind and it's made them look like geniuses. Bill you are brilliant!!!

Bill Barnwell
  (8:01 PM)

They haven't been behind by two scores in the second half with Vince Young as quarterback. When they are, they'll throw.

matt (brecksville,ohio)

is there a chance that the browns monday night game will be blacked out.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:01 PM)

That's actually a very good question. I don't know if SNF/MNF games can be blacked out.

Max (New York)

Releasing Larry Johnson might have been one of the dumbest things the Chiefshave ever done. Why would you release your best player if you haven't had a winning season in years?!

Bill Barnwell
  (8:02 PM)

Larry Johnson has never, for a single moment in his entire career, been the Chiefs' best player. Promise.

Marty (PA)

Steve Young says Ben R. will not be a great QB until he learns to throw from the pocket-your thoughts?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:04 PM)

Steve Young knows a lot more about quarterbacking than I do, but from my seat, Ben Roethlisberger's been pretty good so far, no? I'll also say that teams run the shotgun far, far more frequently than they did in the past, including when Young played. Even the team that runs the shotgun the least right now runs it more than the league average of shotgun plays a few years ago.

Luke (Cleveland)

Do you see the Titans resigning Lendale White and if not, where do you think he will go?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:05 PM)

Probably not, since he's a pretty limited player and prone to whining. He'll also probably be overrated wherever he ends up, which could be somewhere like Cleveland (replacing Jamal Lewis) or Houston (as a complement to Steve Slaton).

Redd (Nowhere, Jersey)

Who is the Browns future QB? Your thoughts on their options as far as Free Agency and their possible draft place this year after the season.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:06 PM)

Geez. I don't think it's anyone on their roster. Bradford, maybe? Or go get Jason Campbell in free agency? Campbell wouldn't be the worst idea, considering how good their offensive line can potentially play.

johnny (Atlanta)

Do you see Limas sweed ever becoming a solid receiver in the NFL and do you think Hines Ward should be in the Hall of Fame after its all said and done with him

Bill Barnwell
  (8:06 PM)

Maybe and yes.

Brian (San Francisco)

What's the verdict on Alex Smith after 2.5 games?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:07 PM)

Pretty much just what it was after 2007; he needs to be in the shotgun more often than not, and even then, he might not be more than a pretty good quarterback. Instead of investing in a "franchise quarterback" this offseason, though, the 49ers need to pump some money into their offensive line, which has been awful.

Tony Stephens (Lake Charles, LA)

All the talk about the Steelers not running the ball and not living up to their tradition misses the point. First, the great Steeler teams of the 1970's changed from a ground control, run first team to a passing team to win their last two Super Bowls in '79 and '80. Second, the only games the Steelers have lost this year and the playoff game they lost to end their 2007 season were lost precisely BECAUSE they insisted on trying to run the ball with a lead in the 4th quarter rather than continuing to use the wide-open, pass first offense that got them the leads to begin with. This is a new era in football. The Steelers are completing 70% of thier passes. They should continue to throw on early downs and mix the run in the 4th quarter if they want an opportunity to defend their title.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:09 PM)

Well said. You don't need to "commit" to anything to win at this level; do whatever you're best at.

luis (Arizona)

seeing the way orton is playing, will the broncos negotiate a new contract any times soon?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:10 PM)

Think they'd wait till the offseason and maybe franchise him if they can't get a deal to their comfort level. He's a bargain at $955K this year (and I believe he'd be an unrestricted free agent, because he's no longer on his rookie contract). Not sure what sort of deal he could get, though. Maybe the 6/$60 million deal David Garrard got from the Jags?

Geno (Philadelphia)

Is this McNabb's last year in Philly

Bill Barnwell
  (8:11 PM)

Next year, pretty clearly, is going to be Donovan McNabb's final season in Philadelphia. That's not to say he'll be playing quarterback the entire 2010 campaign, but his contract and the presence of Kolb on the roster dictate that the tenure will end there.

dj bowman (stanley,va)

do you see the redsox signing pitcher john lackey or aqquiring a big bat like matt holiday

Bill Barnwell
  (8:13 PM)

Think you might've got the wrong chat there, D.J. Try again.

billy (santa fe)

Will broncos use scheffler much tonight? How have TE faired against Pittsburgh? Will the Broncos defense come back to life tonight?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:14 PM)

The Steelers have actually been pretty poor against tight ends; they're 25th in the league in DVOA against tight ends, allowing 58.5 yards per game. (You can check out those stats yourself on our site, at http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef )

Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)

That's illegal procedure against dj bowman for typing a baseball question in the MNF chat. 5 yards and repeat 1st down.

jose (florida)

it was an unsporting actin by tommie harris hitting one of the cardinals players' do u think he should get any type of fine or game suspension

Bill Barnwell
  (8:15 PM)

I think it's pretty safe to say he'll be fined. Don't know if a punch merits suspension; he already missed, pretty much, the entire Cardinals game. Cost his team enough already.

Don (Eufaula Alabama)

did the Broncos look at coaches like nick sabans or jon grudens before they hired mcdaniels?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:16 PM)

It was pretty clear from the moment the Broncos fired Mike Shanahan that the owner had someone very distinct in mind. From what I remember, McDaniels was the only serious candidate.

Drake (NC)

Do you think Philip Rivers is the best QB in the NFL?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:17 PM)

Don't see how you could put him over Peyton, Brady, or Brees at this juncture. Think he's in a tier behind them with Big Ben, Romo, Schaub, Palmer, Ryan, and Warner.

Zhou (Los Angeles)

Last week on MNF I stated that Vince Young will rally the Titans to the superbowl, and I can imagine most of you balked at the thought of him even staying a starter for more than a game. But here he is, on a two game winning streak, beating the 49ers, with the Bills up next. Do you think this change in momentum could snowball further and manage to steal a playoff spot (with only Indianapolis as their major threat)?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:18 PM)

I must've missed your cameo. But to answer your question: No.

Mike (Ohio)

Any thought on the Holmgren to Cleveland stuff? I'm not seeing it.(My apologies if this has been addressed already in the chat)

Bill Barnwell
  (8:19 PM)

Think he'd be a good person to go after, but don't see what the point of bringing him in is if Mangini has control over football operations, which he does. Whoever comes in needs to let Mangini go.

Dylan (Allentown)

Why do you think the Giants are losing are of sudden you think it deals with Manning?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:19 PM)

For the same reason he won Super Bowl MVP while having an average game. When a team wins, the quarterback usually gets more of the credit than he deserves. When a team loses, the quarterback usually gets more of the blame than he deserves.

Luke (Fargo ND)

I noticed that Lamar Woodley is listed as DE/LB........does he play both positions on a regular basis and kind of switch during the game or is he DE one game and LB the next........do you have any idea what determines where he lines up or does it depend on what the offense is showing?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:20 PM)

It's a pretty miniscule difference. The Steelers line up their linebackers on the line of scrimmage outside of the three defensive linemen a fair amount of the time, which makes for a 5-2 front. For better or worse, he's the same player.

Adam (North Dakota)

Will Mike Nolan be Denver's d-coordinator next year?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:21 PM)

Think so. He'll need another good year or two before his name comes up again in head coaching vacancies. Seems like he might end up as one of those Dom Capers AAAA coordinators, too good to be a coordinator, but not good enough to handle the duties of being a head coach.

David (Kansas City)

Any chance the Chiefs Draft Suh if he is available?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:22 PM)

Think he would be both a likely pick and the right one. Pioli wants to build up front.

Mike Johnson (Salt Lake City)

I see the Broncos coming out of the meat of their season pretty good after tonight. Bill do you think the Broncos will have an extended season in the playoffs?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:23 PM)

It's pretty clear that they're going to win the AFC West and make the playoffs. From there, absolutely nobody knows. Crapshoot.

Eddie (Iowa City)

what kind of effects do you think the injury to bob sanders will cause on the great season the colts are having?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:24 PM)

He's been out for most of the year anyway, right? It hurts, sure, but the worst case is that they end up playing shootouts with Peyton Manning every week. That's not the worst thing in the world. Also remember that they're currently the #1 seed, and while they're not unbeatable at home in the playoffs, it's a much better place for them to be if they're going to be engaging in 42-39 games.

eric (georgia)

What do you make of Greg Jennings? Is he hurt? Or he got his contract? He is getting the targets but can't do anything with them.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:28 PM)

Don't think the "he got his contract" logic makes sense. He got his contract in June, and then he started the year with a 6-106-1 game. He also had seven catches for 81 yards and a TD against the Vikings as recently as a year ago. Problem is the offensive line. For a receiver like Jennings to be effective, he has to be able to get deep -- or, at the very least, have the threat of getting deep, so that he can force corners to play off the line and use curl and out routes. Because the Packers can't keep Aaron Rodgers upright, defenses know that they don't need to give a huge cushion, because there won't be time for Jennings to make a double-move or get well down the field. As a result, his numbers are depressed.

Shane (Los Angleles, CA)

Did you see the "tackle" Chris Gamble (Panthers) tried to put on Meachem? The Panthers were very much in this game, but lackluster plays like that put them out of it.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:29 PM)

Chris Gamble has looked pretty miserable at times this year. Don't think that's what the Panthers were hoping for when they gave him a big deal.

Jaime (New York)

Michael Vick in Buffalo does not make sense... You don't have two of the game's most explosive receivers and bring in a guy that will run the ball for 500+ yards and throw for less than 2,000 yards. The Bills need an Eli Manning or Tom Brady as their quarterback.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:30 PM)

I wonder if they're available...Terrell Owens hasn't been an explosive receiver for two years now, though.

Don (Eufaula Alabama)

I believe that Nick Sabans would have made a good go of it in Denver. Do you think Cutlers would be gone if McDaniels hadnot got the job?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:30 PM)

Nick Saban abandoned the NFL after two years. He won't be a head coach in the league again.

Steve (Johnson)

What do you think will happen to Brandon Marshall next year? Will he be a Bronco?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:31 PM)

Yes, he'll stay.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:31 PM)

Alright everyone -- thanks for the chat, and I'll catch you this time next week. Be kind to Buzz.

Buzzmaster
  (8:32 PM)

Shane (Memphis)

Did Troy Polamalu cut his hair?

Buzzmaster
  (8:34 PM)

Shane don't say such things! I hope this is just a rumor.

Tom (NM)

Steelers break a bronco...27-24

J.T. (Georgia)

My second favorite team the steelers Buzz!

Zhou (Los Angeles)

Seriously if not it's all tucked in his helmet. Please let it be tucked...

Tom (NM)

Buzz, how about a shoutout to my fellow vets. Thank you for your service to this great country.

Buzzmaster
  (8:38 PM)

Of course -- thanks to all the vets out there for your service!

Troy Polamula's Hair (Denver)

It's too cold tonight, I am safely and snugly inside his helmet.

Keelan (Pittsburgh)

He hasn't got it cut. He keeps it in his helmet until kickoff

sam (san fransisco)

agreed tom i think they are amazing out there

Lonnie G. (N.C.)

Steelers continue tonight what the Ravens showed us last week ... that the Broncos are quickly turning into a pumpkin instead of Cinderella!

Tom (NM)

That helmet must be 5 sizes too big

neanea (colorado)

who you pickin' buzz

Buzzmaster
  (8:40 PM)

Well, now that Troy Polamalu's hair is back in the picture, I like the Steelers chances.

Sam (Pittsburgh)

go steelers

neanea (colorado)

lets get this started baby bring it steelers

Mike (Cincinnati)

I'm calling a 24-17 steelers win, Orton has trouble moving that ball against that defense, and Polamalu has a great game

Buzzmaster
  (8:44 PM)

... and great hair. Still recovering from that "he cut it" scare.

Tom (NM)

Good protection for Orton on the opening drive

Baker (ATL)

Who are these teams? neither one is wearing a throw back uniform so I can not identify them...

Lou (co)

Welcome to Mile High! The Josh McDaniels show will be in control tonight

Buzzmaster
  (8:45 PM)

Lou -- you miss those fashionable brown broncos unis?

Richard (Alabama)

Well looks like Denver might have a game plan as far there Offense.

Sam (Pittsburgh)

lets get ready to rumble!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lou (co)

Love em!

Buzzmaster
  (8:46 PM)

Yike -- Broncos fans can breathe again.

Mike (Cincinnati)

i hope the steelers lose just so the bengals are #1

Patrick J. (Orlando, FL)

orton was late on that throw

Jamarcus (Oakland)

Hello people...

Keelan (Pittsburgh)

why can't royal play like this every week? He's sitting on my fantasy bench

Master P (Playa university)

Orton isnt to good

neanea (colorado)

i guess i'll take 3

Chad (Las Vegas)

The Saints would beat both of these teams. Mike, I want a Who Dat vs Who Dey SuperBowl!

Mark Sanchez (NY)

How much are hot dogs in Denver

Paul (IN)

Big Bensss turnnnn

J.T. (Georgia)

Jamarcus........remind me again why you were picked #1?

Buzzmaster
  (8:49 PM)

Clearly accuracy, JT.

Steve (Evanston, IL)

Orton isn't that good? He's only 19-2 as a starter at home...

Chad (Las Vegas)

It's hard to breath in that thin air.

Todd (Louisville)

that, and pocket awareness

Buzzmaster
  (8:50 PM)

Anyones fantasy week depend on this game?

neanea (colorado)

haha tell 'em steve

Robert (Pennsylvania)

steelers are going to win ugly or not they will win

Mike (Annapolis)

Yeah but is Orton really this good??

Keelan (Pittsburgh)

yeah i'm up 21 and the other guy has big ben and moreno

Robert (Pennsylvania)

yeah im losing by like five and i have ben and the other guy has no one so im feeling pretty confident

J.T. (Georgia)

a little buzz, i got ben and Steelers D but thats it.

Sam (Pittsburgh)

yesmike wallace and denvers kicker down by 14

Todd (Louisville)

plus he is a "student of the game" like no other QB in the history of mankind

Richard (Alabama)

Until this year Orton Has't shown much but Josh Medaniels got a hold of him, I am surprised of this whole Denver start to the season..

Buzzmaster
  (8:53 PM)

Here's a question for the chat: More of a force --Troy P's hair, or Jeff Fishers mustache?

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

Big Ben to the rescue

Freako (PA)

Big Ben meet Big Kyle

Mikey (Indianapolis, IN)

Speaking of Orton, my wife commented that there were 2 former Purdue QBs as starters in the NFL. Anyone know the record for starters at the same college?

Derek (Cleveland)

I have Brandon Marshall on my fantasy team

Zhou (Los Angeles)

Troy Polamalu's hair.

Robert (Pennsylvania)

Hair definitely

Jamarcus (Oakland)

Because I have no hair, I'll go with the 'stache.

Master P (Playa City)

troy P's hair no doubt!!

Richard (Alabama)

Good question Buzz But have to say Troy's Hair...

Tad (St. Louis)

Troy P's hair.....duh

Chad (Las Vegas)

The hair....Unless he is going Andre Agassi on us and wearing a wig.

Keelan (Pittsburgh)

wow great question buzz.... Jeff Fisher's mustache is initmidating like Tom Celek but I'll take Troy P

Buzzmaster
  (8:56 PM)

How bout that Denver D!

neanea (colorado)

go defense

Todd (Louisville)

Troy's hair = strength (much like the Blblical Sampson) Jeff's 'stache = mafia style power. advantage fish

Lou (co)

That D is for real

Horns96 (Richmond)

I can't see Denver winning this because Orton can't continue to make plays against that type of blitz, and Denver can't get TDs in the red zone. They have no run game

Adrian (St Louis)

And thats why Denver has one of the best D's in the league!!!

Joan (MN)

Hair....you know where Troy is because of his hair...

Buzzmaster
  (8:58 PM)

It's true. I bet if he wanted, his hair could make a mean tackle.

Master P (Playa City)

if fisher turned his stache into more of a handlebar then he wins...but not at its current state

neanea (colorado)

well when they do win ill be sure to thank horns96

Steve (Evanston, IL)

Horns96, what are you talking about? Did you see the way DAL, SD, and NE blitzed Orton like there was no tomorrow? And the result - 3 W's and only 1 INT all season, and that was a end-of-half hail mary

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

ok game on again.

Buzzmaster
  (9:00 PM)

Has marshall always worn neon orange shoes?

Cherish (Fairbanks, AK)

Good game so far, just got on

Jamarcus (Oakland)

It felt good to have a bye week. We couldn't lose!

Alex (Cincinnati)

Well Todd, Samson's hair led to his downfall... and going along with the story, I think all the Bengals should do is cut Troy's hair and he becomes useless.

Chad (Las Vegas)

I don't watch Denver much, and didn't watch the Bears either, but Orton has one quick release. I like it.

Ethan (Canada)

nope, use to have a deal with adidas

Buzzmaster
  (9:01 PM)

I'm like a bug to the light with those shoes. Can't stop starring. Which leads to question NO. 2 -- more distracting: Troy's hair or Marshall's shoes?

Matthew (center colordo)

i like the denver broncos they are my best team

Steve (Evanston IL)

Marshall/Royal are having HUGE games so far

Sam (Pittsburgh)

yeah the bye week helped but their offense is doing great

Tom (NM)

Marshall has been known to wear brown loafers

Zhou (Los Angeles)

Marshalls' shoes.

J.T. (Georgia)

Hair.....definetly hair!

Stephen (New Smyrna Beach,FL)

lol@ jamarcus

nate (florida)

has anyone ever started the season 5-0 and not made the playoffs?

neanea (colorado)

they seem to be running the offense pretty good

Joan (MN)

The shoes..ouch my eyes!

Chad (Las Vegas)

The hair is more distracting. It's at eye level. If you're looking at the shoes your are on the ground a lot.

Sam (Pittsburgh)

orton is on fire

Air Jordon (Bittertown)

it's gotta be the shoes

Sam (Pittsburgh)

brandon's shoes

Mike (Greenville)

Pittsburgh looks caught off guard.

Steve (Evanston IL)

Broncos need to start taking a deep shot here and there. It's not Orton's strength by any means but the Pitt's playing way too shallow on D

Adam (Glendale,Az)

Steelers will come back and win it.

Tom (NM)

Those shoes make me want to slow down in the construction area

Ethan (Canada)

I bet Pittsburgh is going to run the draw they were running before the game.

Master Playa (Playa City)

i wish i had troys hair an brandons shoes

Buzzmaster
  (9:05 PM)

I think other teams would just forfeit every game.

nate (florida)

i just wish i could grow hair

Todd (Louisville)

i, for one, like the shoes. reminds me of going to the circus when i was a child

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

Tom (NM) ... you funny

nate (florida)

pittsburgh will step it up, they are winners

Richard (Alabama)

well hair more distracting looks like shoes are helping Kyle find Brandon..

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

My hair is all gone now .... just a shine is left

Ethan (Canada)

Master, if u want troys hair use head and shoulds, and if you want brandons shoes then get 50,000 $ and buy them.

Jake (Minnesota)

The Steeler are better then the Broncos

Tom (NM)

Thank Plato...you SMART

Buzzmaster
  (9:07 PM)

There they go!

J.T. (Georgia)

J.T. (Georgia)

steelers O-line=makes other d's look good.

Buzzmaster
  (9:11 PM)

Wow already 1 quarter down! Can we get some official halftime predictions?

Patrick ( Louisville )

Fantasy game on the line. I'm up 116 to 111. And I have Heath Miller, he has Hines Ward.

dan (Fort Worth ( pittsburgh born))

no fantasy just a fan

Zhou (Los Angeles)

Yes, I have Broncos D/ST with Brandon Marshall on my fantasy matchup this week, but they're more of a litmus test for next week, since I have this week in the bag.

Orton (Denver)

Denvers O-line= Makes other d's look PATHETIC.

Buzzmaster
  (9:12 PM)

Wow glad both QBs were able to stop by during the game and share their 2 cents.

neanea (colorado)

10 to 7 denver

Rusty (Denver, CO)

halftime 10 -3 pitt

Stephen (New Smyrna Beach,FL)

By halftime, Marshall has 1 td, and 1 or 2 more big ben sacks.

Spencer (St. Louis)

Denvers D is shaping up to be the next great defense when dawkins leaves in a few years then theyll start to decline....hows that for a predcition

SWATMAN (MICHIGAN)

Rusty (Denver, CO)

Buzzmaster

Joe (Philly)

Pittsburgh's O-Line is their Achilles heel it's truly awful

Mike (Greenville)

21-24 denver ... halftime

Thaddeus (St. Louis)

dan (Fort Worth ( pittsburgh born))

nate (florida)

what does the winner get?

Derek (Cleveland)

Brandon Marshall and his nice orange shoes would look good here in Cleveland

Dan (Miami)

Buzz! Remember last weeks BDCC Face-off? we need to do it again!

Buzzmaster
  (9:17 PM)

Dan -- remember when the BDCC faceoff went totally wrong and we jinxed all players picked (including field goal kickers)?

Alex (Cincinnati)

I see Denver leading at halftime 17-14

Stafford (Denver)

looks like im going to fill in for Orton.

Buzzmaster
  (9:17 PM)

OH SNAP!

al (CA)

PICK SIX

Joey (Columbia)

10-7 pit

Tom (NM)

buzz, you learned your lesson and kept the score in double figures instead of 6 figures.

Buzzmaster
  (9:19 PM)

Tom -- you know i was tempted. I'm a little ashamed I didn't go triple digits. i'm just not the risk taker that I was last week.

Dan (Hyde Park)

Thats what great defenses do

Dan (Denver)

Reciever got picked off by ref, not Orton's fault at all.

nate (florida)

stafford, u give up on detroit or what?

Kitchen (Phoenix)

Hey Joey... how exactly do you see Denver getting 4 points? Just interested...

Joe (Philly)

10-9 pitt

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

Kitchen (Phoenix)Hey Joey... how exactly do you see Denver getting 4 points? Just interested...Very Carefully

Martin (gulf coast)

Will the Saints go all the way?

Sam (((Pittsburgh)))

Man, the steelers up 7-3 and playing well hope we keep it going.

Justin (Ohio)

Just saw the trailer for the new Twilight movie. How are these popular?

Buzzmaster
  (9:22 PM)

I'm not sure. Brett Favre must be in them somehow.

adam (nashville)

Kyle Orton is a younger version of Kerry Collins. He'll get the job done, sometimes. But he can't run a consistant offense.

Adrian (St Louis)

haha thanks buzz for working football into that

nate (florida)

so does anybody know if any team has ever started the team 5-0 and not made the playoffs like the giants are going to do this year?

Quentin (Green Bay)

Hello, Buzz.

Buzzmaster
  (9:24 PM)

Hello, Quentin.

nate (florida)

hopefully he doesnt turn into a jake delhomme

Farve (Greenbay, WI)

Man, Orton cant let that get to him. Back with the falcons i did the same thing and it got to me for like 2 weeks ( but i was a rookie).

Sam (((Pittsburgh)))

orton having a nice short memory and still on fire.

Todd (Louisville)

shouldn't marshall be fined by the powers that be for an obvious uniform violation. if not, i'm sure the fashion police will get him

Buzzmaster
  (9:26 PM)

Fans should just wave those shoes during a Steelers field goal.

Dan (Miami)

Brett, what the heck are you doing in Greenbay??

Adrian (St Louis)

i like that orton just made a great pass while gettin hit

Joe (Philly)

Are Marshall's shoes Orange or hot Pink?

Dan (Miami)

one orange one pink

Todd (Louisville)

right on, buzz. too bad the average joe can't find sneakers in the infamous color, highlighter orange

Buzzmaster
  (9:28 PM)

It's a shame. What doesn't go with highlighter orange!

Brandon (Denver)

officially they are flamingo

Steve (Evanston IL)

That's a catch by Gaffney! Established possession before he went down, fumble out of bounds

Buzzmaster
  (9:29 PM)

What does everyone else think? Was that a catch? And what is the color of marshall's shoes?

Sam (((Pittsburgh)))

cant believe i dropped marshall

Jason (Earth)

No catch, he didn't maintain control.

Jimmy (New Jersey)

i say catch

Sam (((Pittsburgh)))

no catch

nate (florida)

what a horrible challenge, no way they can over turn that

Bradford Matthews (Port Charlotte, FL)

apparently the astronauts in space want to watch the game, marshell is helping them out

Robert (Va.)

No catch

Joe (Philly)

I'm still saying hot Pink for the shoes and a Catch which was fumbled out of bounds

Lou (co)

were going to lose this chall.

Steelerfan (oregon)

NO catch

Bradford Matthews (Port Charlotte, FL)

He did not hold on the ball all the way threw the catch, If ward was incomplete last game in the endzone then this is as well

Adrian (St Louis)

i like steve's explanation, fumble out of bounds

Buzzmaster
  (9:31 PM)

Whoa BOLD!

Tom (NM)

NO catch...and the shoes are officially flamingo

Sam (((Pittsburgh)))

goin on fourth

Buzzmaster
  (9:32 PM)

GO FOR IT!

Todd (Louisville)

momentum killer. game changer. and all those other really cool but overused phrases

Bradford Matthews (Port Charlotte, FL)

Hold, was a hold

Steelerfan (oregon)

N....O..... C....A....T....C....H

Todd (Louisville)

bad penalty

Sam (Ohio)

They got the first, definitely. The shoes are pink., I agree with Tom.

Steelerfan (oregon)

NOT GUNNA GET IT

Joe (Philly)

Horrible hold there cost the Broncos a 1st down

Steve (Evanston IL)

Too bad...what a nitpicky holding call

Sam (((Pittsburgh)))

happy for the hold

Adrian (St Louis)

too bad bout the hold, i like when teams man up and go for it. fortune favors the bold

Jimmy (New Jersey)

there always a hold

Matt (San Diego)

I don't see how you can say Denver is a lock in the AFC West, because if they lose tonight the Chargers are only one game back, with an easier second half schedule and they still play Denver again. When was the last time the Broncos beat the Chargers twice in one season?

Richard Goat (Denver)

Buzz, are you sleepy yet?

Buzzmaster
  (9:34 PM)

Never. Are you?

BRONCOS_FAN (MN)

BAD call - he barely had his hand on him.

Dave O (ABQ)

Denver reminds me of the Redskin team a few years ago that started 7-0 only to finish 7-9. I see a similar fate for this team.

JD (Rochelle, IL)

Buzz, whats your prediction to win this game?

Buzzmaster
  (9:37 PM)

Well i picked Troy Palomalu's hair to lead the Steelers to the W ... but then Marshall's shoes came into the mix and Orton has a mustache, so no idea.

nate (florida)

14-3 at half

Paul (IN)

steelers 27-21

Justin (PA)

When mendenhall carries, I always hold my breath. Why does it look like he has such a loose grip on the ball??

Buzzmaster
  (9:38 PM)

Not sure. Send him to the Texans?

Dan (Miami)

Buzz....you just jinxed all 3 of those players...

Lee Roy Selmon (Tampa, FL)

Those orange shoes are officially embarassing. C'mon, who really wants to wear orange?

Steve (Evanston IL)

Dave O - how do you figure? Denver's already played the hardest part of their schedule, and they're 6-1. Toughest games left are tonight, home against SD, and at Indy. The rest of the games include OAK once and KC twice

Sam (((Pittsburgh)))

it does because he does have a bad grip on the ball

Orton (Denver)

Dont you be talking bout my stache.. I have lots of pride with it.

Buzzmaster
  (9:39 PM)

BIG STOP

Joey Harrington (Detroit)

Man, Orton cant get the job done. I got Steelers beating the Broncos 45-3

Sam (Ohio)

Hey hey, the Texans beat the Bengals. They are decent. And what key adjustments did the Broncos make to their D later in the season? It looks awesome.

JD (Rochelle, IL)

Buzz, I say Steelers win 27-23

Adrian (St Louis)

Denver D is back after taking two weeks off :)

Quentin (Green Bay)

I HATE the Steelers.

Bradford Matthews (Port Charlotte, FL)

Pitts O looks bad.

Todd (Louisville)

orton has more than just a stache. he's got the whole neck beard, grizzly adams thing going. HOW BOUT THAT DEFENSE!

Alex (Cincinnati)

Broncos are going to win 24-21 I think...

Jon (Philly)

Well the Steelers hate you

Sam (Ohio)

Well, the Denver D was on the field the whole game last week.

Bradford Matthews (Port Charlotte, FL)

Joey that is why you are no longer playing football

Jimmy (New Jersey)

I say 72-32

Quentin (Green Bay)

Punt-o-Meter: 5

Sam (Ohio)

And Broncos 31-14.

Neil (Auburn Hills, MI)

Steelers win this one, 35-17.

Ashley (Nebraska)

I say Steelers win 38-21

Buzzmaster
  (9:43 PM)

OK guys, will the Broncos score in this drive and if so who gets the score?

Keelan (Pittsburgh)

Buzz what's your thoughts on Tomlin's chin strap beared? He pulls it off

Buzzmaster
  (9:44 PM)

It's definitly classly

Neil (Auburn Hills, MI)

FOR SALE: My NFL loyalty. ANYONE, give me a team to follow. The Lions... lol.

Orton (Denver)

Royal looks in the zone. So i got my team, 24-7 at the half.

Steve (Evanston IL)

Hey Buzz, I have a 45-yard FG by Prater coming on this drive

Jon (Philly)

No the Steelers defense is going to get a turnover

Dan (Miami)

eddie royal will score!

JD (Rochelle, IL)

Buzz i say the TD goes to moreno

Sam (Ohio)

Bengals.

Buzzmaster
  (9:46 PM)

Ok its a steve-jon-dan-JD-Sam off (SJDJS) -- i'm pulling for sam's prediction.

Quentin (Green Bay)

Brett Favre Favres on this drive and scores a Favre.

Buzzmaster
  (9:47 PM)

Quentin that is a hall of fame prediction right there.

Alex (Cincinnati)

15 yarder from Orton to Royal for the score this drive

Superfan (Utah)

Broncos 87 Steelers 7, but they will hold Brandon Marshall to under 300 yards receiving

Farve (Greenbay)

True Dat. True Dat.

Suz (San Fran)

Buzzmaster: I read somewhere out here in the west that they are sending Darrias Hayward-Bey out to New York to drop the ball on New Years.

Jimmy (Jersey)

with farve seconds left on the clock

Jamarcus (Oakland)

Don't talk about my receiver like that!

Buffs Fan (CO)

Put Elway in!!

Todd (Louisville)

wrong. they've already booked TO

TJ (Georgia)

I called that perfectly! Hey where is my original prediction?

jordan campbell (delanco, nj)

oakland radiers best team of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Neil (Auburn Hills, MI)

Buzz! Nacho cheese or plain Fritos?

Buzzmaster
  (9:51 PM)

nacho cheese, obvi

Todd (Louisville)

i guessed 6-3 for my halftime score. pretty close, eh? what do i win, buzz?

DAVE (DC)

NO O FOR EITHER TEAM - WAHT A SNOOZER!

Dick Clark (New York)

Braylon Edwards has been booked to drop the ball, and he already plays here.

Neil (Auburn Hills, MI)

This better not turn out like the Browns-Bills game...

neanea (colorado)

time for snacks see ya in a while

Sam (Afghanistan)

I think Denver can pull this one out...

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

Super Bowl Champ lead at halftime

Quentin (Green Bay)

Punt-o-Meter: 6

Farve (Greenbay)

Buzz, Me or Aaron?

Buzzmaster
  (9:57 PM)

What I do know is that favre > farve

Aaron (GreenBay)

Buzz, me or Farve

Buzzmaster
  (9:57 PM)

Man this is getting awkward.

Donovan (Philly)

Buzz, me or Kolb?

Buzzmaster
  (9:57 PM)

Really guys? I feel like a bad parent.

Kolb (Philly)

BUzz, me, or McNabb

Buzzmaster
  (9:59 PM)

Now this is just getting out of hand! Chat ref SOS??

Vick (Philly)

Buzz, me or Donavan

Jay (NY)

Poptarts or Bacon?

Vince (Tennessee)

Buzz, me or Kerry? Please say me, because I can't deal with anymore disappointment.

Vick (Philly)

me or farve

Buzzmaster
  (10:00 PM)

*sweating*

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

Jay (NY)Poptarts or Bacon?Bacon

Neil (Auburn Hills, MI)

Buzz, me or Stafford

Chad Henne (Miami)

Buzz, me or the other chad (penington)?

Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)

We have illegal procedure against both Philly QBs. Your team stunk it up and got beat by the Cowgirls. Get back to studying film. 5 yards and repeat 1st down.

Eric (Cleveland)

Buzz, Quinn or Anderson

Dan (Miami)

buzz, Troy's hair, Brandon's shoes, or kyle's mustache?

Todd (Louisville)

all of the above. at the same time

Buzzmaster
  (10:06 PM)

Imagine if that were possible? the world would probably explode

Neil (Auburn Hills, MI)

Buzz. Mullet or faux-hawk?

Buzzmaster
  (10:07 PM)

Neil -- mullet, always.

Manning (The Manning Family)

Me or my brother

Buzzmaster
  (10:08 PM)

This one I can answer. Eli -- earmuffs! Peyton.

Orton (Denver)

Buzz, hurry! Slant route, fade, or screen!

Jamarcus (Oakland)

Buzz, Fargas or Mcfadden?

Michelina (Illinois)

Buzz, neckbeard or mustache for orton?

Buzzmaster
  (10:10 PM)

stache -- people think it's hard to figure out why Orton just wins games compared to Cutler -- it's easy, stache.

Denver Defense (Denver )

buzz, what do you say, shall we blitz

Todd (Louisville)

neckbeard + highlighter orange shoes mullet wrangler jeans = the end of civilization as we know it

Jon (Philly)

Buzzmaster, do you think the Steelers will score on this drive?

Buzzmaster
  (10:11 PM)

...

Lk (Florida)

OH SNAP!!!!

Tom (NM)

Defense!!!!

Nathan (York)

I think the Broncos will score on this Steelers drive

Dan (Miami)

nice jon! the jinxing has commenced!

Josh (NYC)

Huge FUMBLE on Big Ben's part TD Broncos

Orton (Denver)

WOOHOHOHOOHO Dont have to try now!

Talbert (Boston)

Brady or Manning?

T.O. (Buffalo)

Me, Or Chad Ochocinco

Big Ben (Denver)

wasnt my fault..

Todd (Louisville)

last team to not have the ball will win this one

Buzzmaster
  (10:14 PM)

forget about having an offense, this game is Broncos D vs Steelers D

Tom (NM)

What a bad week for Pennsylvania. Phillies lose, Penn St loses, Eagles lose and the only hope left is the Steelers.

Theo (Boston)

Buzz, Serious one, Brady or Manning

Buzzmaster
  (10:15 PM)

*sweating* Brady ... no manning ... brady .. yes! no! mcnabb! favre!

Kitchen (Phoenix)

Three cheers for Buzz... way to take a game from terrible all the way to mildly interesting!

Nathan (York)

Aikman! Montana! Unitas!

Vick AND McNabb (Philly)

Hey buzz, its us, which one?

Buzzmaster
  (10:17 PM)

*implodes*

Quentin (Green Bay)

You just made Buzz explode.

Todd (Louisville)

we have now learned to cause of spontaneous combustion. insecure QB's

neanea (colorado)

i thought we were talking about the game at hand

Quentin (Green Bay)

Someone poke him with a stick to see if he's living.

Buzzmaster
  (10:20 PM)

*puts myself back together* OK back! So this game ... HOLMES!

Steve (Evanston IL)

How is champ getting burned so badly by holmes tonight?!?

Dr Phil (via mobile)

*waves bacon in front of Buzz* Yep, he's alive.

Buzzmaster
  (10:21 PM)

an offensive touchdown?? I'm confused.

Todd (Louisville)

well now. that looked easy

Josh (NYC)

Is Denvers Defense starting to fall apart here?

Todd (Louisville)

houston.....we have offense

Guy who made him implode (Via Moblie)

buzz, Touchdown, safety or dropkick(Doug Flutie)

Buzzmaster
  (10:23 PM)

I'm all for the dropkick.

Steve (Evanston IL)

so...10 points in the first 30 mins, then 14 points in the first 6 mins of the 1st half?

Steve (Evanston IL)

2nd half, typo

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

Phils lose, Eagles Lose, Penn State lose, Pittsburgh saves the week

Dr Phil (via mobile)

Champ Bailey is overrated, thats why.

Kevin (Pittsburgh)

Who just said this is D v D?

Buzzmaster
  (10:26 PM)

*looks around* Kevin, you must be seeing things...

Michelina (Chicago)

Do you think we'll see another interception here or will the offense be productive

Spyhunter81 (Fort Benning, GA)

Answer a touchdown with a touchdown. That is Championship Football!

Ronabomb (Kansas)

Denver is ganna lose they are not as good as the steelers

Bad News Bears (Louisville)

We are taking over this game for a minute

Buzzmaster
  (10:27 PM)

Kyle, what happened out there?

Ref's (Via Moblie(in denver))

Was that a fumble buzz?

Paul (IN)

Nope forwardd passs, incomplete, easy call

staughback (dallas)

pittsburgh looks like they came out to play this half

Tom (NM)

I thought I was watching football follies

Gus (Cincinnati, oh)

I love how Big Ben always scores a TD to make up for some awful play and everyone thinks he's an elite QB (instead of just never making awful plays to begin with).

Brian (Chicago)

Tine to try and work the clock and get your defense some rest pittsburgh.

RUNDY (Rockford, IL)

Denver is going to get run over this secon half

AnthonyPinewood (Boulder)

What are the Broncos doing. Their pass D is falling apart in front of my eyes.

Buzzmaster
  (10:31 PM)

That four point prediction earlier would again come in handy for the broncos

Brian (Chicago)

Gus - I guess Elite QB's are only QB's that don't make mistakes...so that also eliminates....um every qb.

Todd (Louisville)

You can't stop Big Ben. You can only hope he stops himself.

Dan (P-burgh)

Broncos defense is way too over rated. they have dawkins and bailey and dumervil.. no other big name players

Steelerfan (Oregon)

UNSTOPPABLE STEEL CITY BABYYYY!!!!!!

staughback (dallas)

gus, you should re think that statement, big ben is an elite qb, he has completed over 70% of his passes this year(nfl record)

Gus (Cincinnati, oh)

Brian - Ben takes too many sacks and has fumbled 5 times this year. Compared to only 12 touchdowns, that's certainly not elite in my book.

Steve (Evanston IL)

Hey Todd (Louisville) - is that why he lost to the bengals and bears?

Steve (Evanston IL)

Dan (P-burgh) - when you have 3 "big-name" players on D, that's a pretty good defense. And you forgot to throw DJ Williams in that mix too...

Brian (Chicago)

I'm a steeler fan, but if you are playing so well with the run and play action, why go 5 wide?

will (durant,ok)

steelers are awesome

Paul (IN)

what makes a QB elite? RINGS right? and wiining...ummm..think Big Ben stackss up well...better than Palmer..haa

staughback (dallas)

2 superbowls=elite

Steelerfan (Oregon)

Who cares they are still the team to beat

Brian (Chicago)

GUS - He has sacks because he holds the ball a very long time. By your definition, Orton is the best QB in the game with only 2 turnovers. Its not the mistakes you make but how you come back from them that makes you elite.

Nathan (York)

Wait, you have to have 2 Super Bowls? What about Peyton?

johnq77 (New Mexico)

Yeah im a Steelers fan too i hope they beat Broncos

staughback (dallas)

well said brian

Buzzmaster
  (10:37 PM)

Wow Broncos D need to WAKE UP

Tom (NM)

AFC: who can beat the Steelers, NFC: who can outscore the Saints

Buzzmaster
  (10:38 PM)

AFC: Bengals NFC: Favre

Theo (Via Moblie)

Buzz, Super Bowl Predictions

Buzzmaster
  (10:38 PM)

Clearly the Bucs are on their way!

Josh (NYC)

Buzz it's not fair to mention Favre he can beat the NFL by himself

Buzzmaster
  (10:39 PM)

touche

Theo (Via Moblie)

WAKE UP CALL INT!

Michelina (Chicago)

I think they just woke up a little bit

Buzzmaster
  (10:40 PM)

Sorry Pittsburgh fans, usually i'm a jinx. not sure what happened with that one...

Theo (Via Moblie)

Favre is overrated (still much respect)

Buzzmaster
  (10:40 PM)

You bite your tongue!!

staughback (dallas)

favre is far far from overrated

Michelina (Chicago)

Big Ben did not look so elite there my friends

Tom (NM)

Who put in a wake up call for 8:39

Josh (NYC)

I'm thinking Marshall's hot pink shoes will be the rage next year. Everyone will be wearing them

Theo (Via Moblie)

Its not just the rings that make a QB elite- Peyton-1 Farve-1 , I'd pick both of them over Big ben

Jeff (OH)

Would you rather have Big Ben or Drew Brees?

Buzzmaster
  (10:42 PM)

let me think about this one for zero seconds. brees!

Marqueso (New Mexico)

Orton Is Elite Son!!

Steelerfan (Oregon)

big ben in a heartbeat

will (durant,ok)

GO FOR BREES

Paul (IN)

Theress that #1 DEFENSE coming though!!!

Matt (Boulder, CO)

Jeff (OH) - Drew Brees, and it's not even close! Brees doesn't have the rings, but just compare the supporting casts. The Saints are 5-3 this year if they have Ben, and the Steelers are at least 6-1 with Brees

Todd (Louisville)

i'd take flacco over big ben, if that tells you how much i dislike him. carson palmer for prez!

Mic (Chicago)

Orton was not elite while in chicago! One season does not make an elite QB

james (dc)

big ben will get 2 more rings in his career

Robert (Va.)

Big Ben all the way!

Brian (Chicago)

So Ben throws an INT and now he's not elite. Show me career stats for the elite qb's and they will all have pretty decent INT's...I seem to remember Brady/Manning/Brees throwing horrific int's.

Dave (Denver)

Orton was 9 games over .500 as a starter in Chicago, how is that not "elite"?!?

Theo (Via Moblie)

Matt-- That makes no sense what so ever! Brees far better , thats like saying Big Ben is better than manning just because of rings

Brian (Chicago)

I would take Brees in his offense...not sure if he can do what he does outside 11 games a season. I will say the same thing about Manning.

Adrian (St Louis)

heres one: would denver be 6-1 if we still have cutler?

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

Peyton Manning could make the Lions look good all by himself that is how good he is.

travis (NM)

come on one more touchdown

Dan (pburgh)

cutler is a way better qb than orton will ever be. I'd take ben over brees in our system in a heartbeat

Nathan (York)

Better question..how is 9 games over .500 elite? Vince Young has an over .500 record, too.

Paul (IN)

BREES how many RINGS?? ummm 0...BIG BEN 2 Already + more to come!!!

Brian (Chicago)

quick, some one tell me what brees and manning's records are out door. I know Manning wasn't to succesful outdoor in the playoffs. Oh, which has a better playoff record.

Adrian (St Louis)

Personally I think we'd be 7-0 and have a higher scoring offense since jay had a deep element to his game

Theo (Via Moblie)

Who would you build your team around, Peyton, Brady or Bress or Big Benn

john (fla)

pittsburgh too good, sorry denver

Buzzmaster
  (10:50 PM)

Theo -- can't go wrong with any of them. But i'd chose favre.

will (durant,ok)

PEYTON

Dan (pburgh)

big ben.. he's the youngest and very experienced no question theo

Paul (IN)

BIG BEN...Younger..stronger, a Great Teamn Leader...and can Scramble!

Adrian (St Louis)

@theo: Manning, definitely, followed by brees, ben brady in that order

Theo (Via Moblie)

Paul--Really??? Just wanna compare rings? So big ben is Better than Manning, and farve

Gus (Cincinnati, oh)

Peyton's the only one of those QBs that won a super bowl without a good defense.

Brian (Chicago)

Um, Theo _ indoor or outdoor? Outdoor - Brady, Ben, Farve. If it is a dome - Manning, Brees, Warner

james (dc)

jason campbell is just as good if he had an offensive line. better watch out next year! GO SKINS!

Buzzmaster
  (10:53 PM)

james = winner of "comment i would have never predicted to see in a chat this season"

Josh (NYC)

Lol Buzz

Gus (Cincinnati, oh)

James, Campbell's a good guy to look at if you have an up and coming flag football team in the DC area.

Paul (IN)

I think Peyton is great, just cant Scramble. at all...

Buzzmaster
  (10:54 PM)

Paul -- Brady too.

Nathan (York)

And yet he's the least sacked QB in the league..

Todd (Louisville)

you don't have to scramble when you have their intellect. they are more than just field generals, brady and manning are actual coaches/offensive coordinators on the field

Dan (pburgh)

buzz, predictions for the final score

Buzzmaster
  (10:56 PM)

Dan -- I don't think either of these team want my prediction. They've actually requested that I not make one.

Todd (Louisville)

defense: 21 offense 20

Josh (NYC)

17-13 pitt final score

Chris (U.S.)

21-10 Pittsburgh

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

Yes Buzz no more predictions please Pitt has the ball again.

Dan (pburgh)

hahaha fair enough.

Paul (IN)

21-10 the Burghhhh

Steelerfan (Oregon)

21-17 pitt final

Theo (Via Moblie)

21-17

T. (GR)

Ben an accurate thrower behind a dominant offensive line, that's a recipe for success. He doesn't read defenses particularly well, as shown by his sacks/int rates. Manning is the guy I'd want.

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

21-10 Pittsburgh Super Bowl 10 final score

Theo (Via Moblie)

Typo 21-16 Denver miss the 2 pt. convo

Gus (Cincinnati, oh)

Mendenhall certainly isn't the joke of a running back he was last year. He deserves his props this year.

will (durant,ok)

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buzzmaster
  (10:59 PM)

hi?

Theo (Via Moblie)

hey will

Josh (NYC)

Mendenhall would be much better then he currently is, if he only wore those hot pink shoes Marshall does

Buzzmaster
  (11:00 PM)

... and had a mustache

james (dc)

prediction... PIT 21 DEN 24

Brian (Chicago)

I will hold off any props for Mendenhall until he play's Baltimore.

Paul (IN)

Mendenhall is the real deal...and looks like he has fixed his fumbling problemm!!!

bradford Matthews (Port Charlotte, FL)

.....and troys hair

Todd (Louisville)

and wore wrangler jeans

nate (texas)

i dont there will be another offensive touchdown

Steelerfan (Oregon)

sorry James thats not gunna happen 21-17 pit final

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

Ben had the good fortune of being drafted by a very stable team could you imagine how many Rings Peyton could win in Pittsburgh with their defense backing him up?

Dan (Hyde Park)

Does anyone agree that the AFC NORTH is the dominant division in the NFL? 3 top teams that take it to the out of division teams.

bradford Matthews (Port Charlotte, FL)

Troy scores next

Buzzmaster
  (11:03 PM)

Dan (Hyde Park)

NFC EAST? Great teams don't lose to Oakland like Philly did

Nathan (York)

Big Ben probably could've run for the TD. There was no one that side of the field.

Tom (NM)

Ben makes plays that tears the heart out of the defense

Paul (IN)

BIG BENNN....lookss pretttyyy gooood tooo mee...sCRAMBLING...td!!

nate (texas)

kyle orton doesnt make that play

J Madden (Canton)

Steelerfan (Oregon)

Heritik (Detroit)

TD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Josh (NYC)

Pittsburgh needs to re enforce there bandwagon with everyone jumping on

nate (texas)

half the pittsburg fans just became fans last year

Todd (Louisville)

Orton's best play is the 10 yard slant to orange-highlighted shoe wearing marshall. then he grabs a hot dog and watches brandon run the additional 60 yards. don't see that happening against this D

Josh (NYC)

Ok Marshall's shoes are hot pink please remember that

tim (pittsburgh)

been on the bandwagon for 52 years

FAN (Pittsburgh)

Pittsburgh has THE largest fan base of any pro franchise. Look at the Yellow at all the away games. durrrr

Tom (North Dakota)

Todd, Orton can't throw it farther than 10 yards

Buzzmaster
  (11:10 PM)

Yikes Denver, yikes.

Tom (North Dakota)

Been on the bandwagon for 32 years, the 80's were tough but the last 2 decades have been GREAT!

Brian (Chicago)

Come on denver, I need 3 points from Troy or Fox....punting the ball doesn't help.

Buzzmaster
  (11:12 PM)

Alert McDaniels! Brian only need 3 pts!

Paul (IN)

Nahhhhhh Naahhhhh Naaaaaaaa Naaaaaaaaaaa....

Tom (North Dakota)

Orton is falling under the pressure of the #1 Defense!

Nathan (York)

....Why were the 90's for the Steelers good?

bradford Matthews (Port Charlotte, FL)

On the pittsburgh bandwagon, all my life, Yes that means 17 years of Pirates as well.

Heritik (Detroit)

HEY HEY HEY GOODBYE!!!!!!

Chris (Seminole, FL)

Orton is a good game manager, but these are the times you need a guy like Cutler.

Brian (Chicago)

Thank you! At least some one out there understands the need for a fantasy victory.

FAN (Via Moblie )

Brain-not gonna go for it on 4th an long from thier own 20

bradford Matthews (Port Charlotte, FL)

Cutler is overrated as well.

nate (texas)

u need a guy like favre to overcome this

Buzzmaster
  (11:14 PM)

exactly. favre would have gunslinged it for a 90 yard TD on fourth and 20

john (chicago)

good game

Todd (Louisville)

final score. pittsburgh 24. denver 10. favre, 497,832

bradford Matthews (Port Charlotte, FL)

Brian (Chicago)

Buzzmaster
  (11:16 PM)

Brian this chat will not let you lose this fantasy matchup!

Buzzmaster
  (11:17 PM)

Unfortunately, the broncos offense might.

Gus (Cincinnati, oh)

Pittsburgh's offense, it's Denver's only hope of scoring. Haha.

Chris (Richmond, VA)

Buzzmaster
  (11:17 PM)

Ya! Win this one for Brian (chicago)!!

john (chicago)

Rob (Carolina)

Can anyone tell me why Mendenhall just ran out of bounds? Not what you expect to see out of a PIT RB...

nate (texas)

why did he run out of bounds, hes definately no marion barber

Paul (IN)

RUNNNN MENDDDYYYYY RUNNN!! Nahhhhhh Naahahhhh Naaaaa nnaaaaaaaa..lol

Brian (Chicago)

I dont need denver to win...just back on offense so my two defensive players can make 3 tackles.

Nathan (York)

Because he was at the sidelines and didn't need to take a needless hit?

Redd (Jersey)

Why not run out of bounds???!!! You're up 11, it's the 4th quarter and you're tired. Don't risk a fumble, duh!

dan (pburgh)

brian why do you play fantasy football with defensive players lol

jared (honolulu)

Denver needs to bring back the throwbacks for next week

Lou (co)

Denvers offense has woe out there defense again

Buzzmaster
  (11:29 PM)

Todd (Louisville)

Plato Junior (Pennsylvania)

Punched out before he hit the ground see it come out the side.

Dan (Hyde Park)

This game is closer than it should be. 2 red zone turnovers by Pittsburgh. Should be at least 31 - 10.
