Monday Night FB chat!

Buzzmaster
  (12:19 PM)

Hello football fans! We'll be here each week starting at 7:30 p.m. ET to chat live up to and during the Monday Night Football game! Get your best questions and comments ready and submit them below!

Bill Barnwell
  (7:30 PM)

Hey everyone -- happy to join you all again next week. It's going to be a fun game tonight, so let's talk about it and what's happening in the NFL with two weeks to go. And someone reminded me last week that I was breaking the famed BP/FO policy of mentioning what I was listening to as the chat began, so I should say that I'm listening to Maritime.

Tray (Towson, MD)

Last chat of the year?? I'll miss y'all. Just how big will the season ending injury to rookie starting CB Lardarius Webb be for the Ravens going forward? He was beginning to look like he'd be a stud...

Bill Barnwell
  (7:32 PM)

Nope -- last chat of 2009 for me, although I suspect we'll be around in the playoffs at one point or another. Vince Verhei, my esteemed colleague, will be around next week. It's going to hurt them; I don't know if I'd call him a stud, but he was beginning to adjust to the speed of the game as the team's nickel corner. Fixing up torn ACL's on young guys isn't too hard nowadays, so Webb should be back to 100 percent early next season.

Peter Berger (Phoenix, AZ)

Diehard Skins fan in AZ here. One of my questions is do you think my beloved Redskins could be dangerous next season? Orakpo has turned into a star and should be in the Pro Bowl and Jason Campbell has a rating approaching 90! Not to mention the coming out of Fred Davis & Devin Thomas. This team is better than their record and I expect a better team next season. What say you?

Peter Berger (Phoenix, AZ)

Is Jason Campbell the answer in D.C? He's done very well ever since his Week 6 benching. He's playing like a franchise QB for the first time in his career and I think he deserves another shot, especially if Mike Shanahan is hired. Do you agree?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:34 PM)

Campbell always has been the answer; he's been forced to deal with new offensive schemes, new/struggling receivers, and an offensive line that's always hurt and offers little depth. What he needs is continuity, but he's a league-average starter with Pro Bowl upside in the right situation. That's very valuable.I will say that quarterback rating overrates him, because it doesn't consider the context of his performance or sacks, which has been Campbell's biggest problem this year.

Bill Barnwell

Brian (San Francisco)

I could really use 25 fantasy points out of Jason Campbell tonight. 30/70 to happen?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:35 PM)

Um, doubtful, but anything's possible. What would you have sent in if you had Jerome Harrison yesterday? "I could really use 45 fantasy points out of Jerome Harrison today. .000001/99.999999 to happen?"

vikings4mags (new york)

wouldn't it be more beneficial to the redskins to lose tonight so they get better draft picks? Rather than play to be spoilers for the G-men!

mika (tempe)

Will Jason Campbell play lights out?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:44 PM)

Sorry everyone -- having some issues with the chat software.Yes, it would be beneficial for the Redskins to lose today. Of course, suggesting that might make Vegas blow up, let alone the league offices. There's a good story in England -- Wolverhampton Wanderers, a mediocre team, benched their entire starting 11 when they played at mammoth Manchester United in the middle of the week. The idea was, pretty clearly, to rest their players in a game they had little hope of winning, even with their best players, and save them for the more winnable game they played over the weekend. They ended up losing to United and manager Mick McCarthy took a lot of flak, but they won their game on the weekend. Teams generally avoid optimizing their situations like that because of the PR hit, even though what McCarthy did was the right idea.

Bill Barnwell
  (7:44 PM)

Sorry everyone -- having some technical issues. Think they should be fixed now.

Raj (Philadelphia)

Can anyone explain to me why Saints or Vikings fans should be particularly concerned about what's happened the last 3 weeks? Yes, they've had a couple bad games, but by any measures(DVOA, Pythagorean, etc) these teams were not as good as their gaudy records. Based on the NFC history of so long ago (uh, not really, more like 2008 and 2007) shouldn't everyone calm down on the hysteria over these teams' struggles?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:46 PM)

You're 100 percent right, Raj. The idea that a team needs to be playing its best football now is ridiculous -- think about the 2006 Colts, the 2007 Giants, and the 2008 Cardinals, and how they were playing at this point of the season during their respective Super Bowl runs. The answer is "not very well".

George (San Diego)

So if Cambell isn't gonna be the future of the Redskins, who will...? I mean Snyder wants to win NOW! Is he gonna draft a QB and wait for 2 or 3 years...?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:48 PM)

Campbell's a good quarterback right now. Snyder's wanted to win now for a decade and has shuffled the deck chairs without trying to avoid the iceberg. He needs to build through the draft and acquire quality depth for when his players get hurt. Or build the best medical facility in the world and keep his 24 starters perfectly healthy. The first one seems easier. If I was running the Redskins -- and my blood pressure thanks me every day -- I'd draft OL. OL, OL, OL. Maybe a linebacker.

Peter Berger (Phoenix, AZ)

How loud will Shaun Shaun Suisham get booed when he comes back to DC next Sunday Night?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:49 PM)

Probably a fair amount. I suspect he'll get over it and want to prove that he just missed a kick at the wrong time.I don't get the Cowboys replacing Nick Folk with Suisham though; why would you cut a guy for missing a chip shot and then sign a guy who was...recently cut for missing a chip shot? Against the same team, even?

Jeff H. (Seattle)

At the beginning of the year everyone was touting the NFC East as the best division. Then, mid season everyone was dissing on them. With three NFC East fighting for two playoff spots that nobody else can step in to, what is your take on the division as a whole?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:50 PM)

I never understand these questions that talk about what "everyone" was doing. There's an enormous amount of media, and plenty of dissenting opinions out there. We've had the NFC East teams up pretty high in our DVOA Ratings all year, and Philly's going to be #1 in DVOA when the ratings come out tomorrow.

Gary (Calgary)

How come 'spiking the ball' to stop the clock is not considered intentional grounding?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:51 PM)

Didn't we talk about this last week? It's just a traditional play that got grandfathered in, and it's close enough in theory to a back or a receiver to justify not being called grounding, relative to some plays that aren't.

Brett (Long Island)

How do you think Fred Davis will handle against the Giants worst defense against opposing tight ends?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:52 PM)

The Giants don't have the worst defense in the league against tight ends; they have a mediocre defense against them (21st in DVOA) that gets exacerbated by a slate of tough tight ends.

Darryl (Fullerton, Fullerton, Fullerton, CA)

Why have the underdogs dominated lately in prime time night games the past 3 weeks?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:53 PM)

I wouldn't confuse correlation and causation there. Jay Cutler's been terrible in primetime this year after being very effective in primetime a year ago. It's just a fluke.

Joe S. (MD)

Which backup RB would rather have in the game when your starter is out late in the season? Rock Cartwright Ahmad Bradshaw

Bill Barnwell
  (7:55 PM)

Have to go with Bradshaw, who would play a bigger role on most teams and is probably better -- at least strictly running the ball -- than a fair amount of the league's starters. He still needs some work on his pass blocking and as a receiver, but he's a great running back.

Willie (Texas)

Wade Phillips has been taking all the heat when the Cowboys self destruct. However, when they win it seems Jason Garrett gets all the credit. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me... your take on the situation in Dallas?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:56 PM)

I don't necessarily think that's the case. Again, how can we really say that someone gets all the heat or all the credit? There's so much media -- especially for the Cowboys -- that there's enough blame and credit to go around for everyone, even the people that don't deserve it (like Romo).

George (San Diego)

If the Chargers get the #2 seed (which it is a 99% possibility) Are they the team to beat in the AFC...?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:57 PM)

I don't see how you could say anyone but the undefeated #1 seed is the team to beat in the AFC. Or make a case that that's not the case.

Peter Berger (Phoenix, AZ)

Undrafted RB Quinton Ganther has come on strong in recent weeks. Do you agree that he deserves a shot to become the 3rd-down back if Betts/Portis is not retained?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:57 PM)

Sure, why not? The Redskins have bigger problems than halfback. Like, say, the offensive line in front of those backs.

Brett (Long Island)

How do you think Fred Davis will fair agains a Giants defense that is terrible at defending opposing tight ends?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:58 PM)

Heh. They're not terrible, just below-average!It's hard for a guy to get touchdowns as consistently as Davis does with a low reception total. So I'm inclined to believe that the touchdowns will disappear before the receptions increase. Either way, he's probably looking at 50 yards or so; if you're talking fantasy value, it depends on whether he scores or not. As is the case with many tight ends.

Phillip (Orange Park, FL)

Is it possible that (despite the AFC's edge in interconference records) that the NFC's playoff teams are better than the AFC's (and that consequently the playoffs could be far more itneresting)? The NFC has 6 of the top 9 teams in weighted DVOA entering this week, and it seems to me that (based on eyeball test/Brady's injuries, not DVOA), NE isn't a particularly strong 2nd or 3rd best team AFC.. thoughts?

Bill Barnwell
  (7:59 PM)

Maybe. If you separate the league's teams into different tiers, the top tier might have more NFC teams than AFC teams. But the tier below that would be almost exclusively AFC teams.

Peter Berger (Phoenix, AZ)

Even though Jim Zorn is likely out the door on January 4th, I think he deserves credit for staying strong-willed and level-headed despite all the fans calling for his head(myself included) and some players. Do you think he deserves props for handling this whole insane season with class and dignity? Because personally, if coaches were made for nice guys, he'd be the best in the league.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:00 PM)

Of course. Zorn's a classy guy who deserves better, but at the same time, it's the Redskins. He had to have an idea of what he was getting into. He's probably overmatched as a head coach, but he'll go be a great quarterbacks coach somewhere.

Bob (waukegan,Ill)

To Coach Gruden, Please apply for a coaching job at Hallas Hall home of The Bears, and bring help to clean-up this train wreck !!!! Thanks a big fan

Bill Barnwell
  (8:01 PM)

Adam Schefter just noted Gruden saying on Monday Night Countdown that, "The only team I'm coaching next year is my 13-year-old son's flag football team."Wonder if the flag football team will go after Tim Tebow.

Jimmy (Mass)

I have a question. In your opinion, is the offensive line the most important part of any football team? It seems that most experts focus on the QB position, or the need for a dynamic running back, but doesn't a good offensive line make even pedestrian players look better, and conversely, bad offensive lines can kill the value of good RB's and QBs? If I ran a team, I'd spend every penny I had on constructing the best offensive line in the league

Bill Barnwell
  (8:05 PM)

Short answer: Yes.Long answer: Some of those "experts" aren't exactly experts. Great offensive lines make everyone better. They give quarterbacks time to throw, which helps them to develop. That time allows receivers to get downfield and make big plays, which helps them develop. They create holes for running backs, and allow you to save your money instead of investing $10 million a year on a back that can break three tackles before he gets back to the line of scrimmage.Good teams build from the lines out. It's a piece of conventional wisdom that should be mentioned more frequently.

gramos (Chicago)

new york will win bewcause if the redskins cant beat the lions how will they beat the GIANTS

Bill Barnwell
  (8:07 PM)

This sort of logic is always awesome. The Redskins beat the Broncos, who beat the Raiders, who beat the Eagles, who beat the Giants TWICE. The Giants have no hope!

Lewis Kent (Waukegan Illinois)

Who's more at fault for the Bears woes? Jerry Angelo, Lovie Smith, Ted Phillips, or the McCaskey ownership?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:08 PM)

I have to go with Angelo, who built an offensive line out of spare parts and injury-prone players and seemed surprised when it fell apart.

Andy (DC)

Fantasy - I have Ganther going up against the NY defense. Tied going into the night... how nervous should I be?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:08 PM)

If you need him to score one point, you should be fine.

Peter Berger (Phoenix, AZ)

Who are some good offensive guards in this upcoming NFL Draft? I think that is where the Redskins need a lineman the most. Why? Because Levi Jones has come on very strong at LT/RT and Chris Samuels if he comes back healthy is still a Pro Bowl T. ANy G's in this draft you see as a good fit for the Washington Redskins? Sorry I'm asking so many questions :D But there's a lot on my mind about the Redskins!!

Bill Barnwell
  (8:10 PM)

Silly to say now; the draft stock of guards can change dramatically between now and April as teams get heavily into breaking down film and find things they like and don't like. You don't really spend a high draft pick on a guard unless he's an obvious future Pro Bowler, but the Redskins would be wise to spend some early Day Two (or is it Day Three now?) picks on linemen of all varieties.

Tom (Nashville)

Is the Keith Bulluck injury a major one for the Titans? And not in terms of some bunk about 'presence' or 'veteran intangible leadership' but in terms of what he is giving the Titans on the field and how much his replacement can produce?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:12 PM)

I mean, I really do believe Bulluck has some value as a leader, it's just not easily quantifiable and often overrated. It's pretty clear that he's slipped a little bit this year without Haynesworth in front of him. The Titans will probably use a committee with Gerald McRath and Stanford Keglar to replace Bulluck, but they're inexperienced and just patching over a hole. They'll have to assume this offseason that Bulluck won't be close to 100 percent, and bring in a veteran in free agency to provide some support alongside their mainstay. The career paths of linebackers suffering ACL tears in their thirties, by the way, isn't pretty.

Will (West Point)

Can a 40 year old man really lead a team to the super bowl?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:13 PM)

John Elway led the Broncos to back-to-back Super Bowls at 37 and 38. At some point, old is just old, whether it's 38 or 40. Right?

carl (whately,ma.)

my question is.why do teams week after week let quarterbacks, especially peyton manning just sit back and pick them apart . i know about,if you blitz him he pick you apart. but if i am getting beat 14-0 21-0 nothing, obviouslly my defensive scheme is not working. so i would send 10 people just to get to him and let him know we're there. they always talk about, you can not let a quarterback just sit there and pick you apart. so why don't they send the house.what's the difference,if he beats me 35-0 or 42-0. i am going to hit him so he'll remember us the next time we play him thanks some body give me a smart answer

Bill Barnwell
  (8:15 PM)

It's hard to hit Manning because he gets the ball out so quickly, regardless of who's blitzing. And rushing three and four and dropping everyone else into coverage limits the big play, while a big blitz opens up the distinct possibility of a big play.If you're suggesting that you should just send ten guys and hit Manning illegally after he's thrown the ball, why bother with the front of legality? Just drop an anvil on him on the sidelines or something.

Tom (NYC)

Are the Giants' struggles on defense this year entirely a schematic (read: Bill Sheridan) problem? That's the conventional wisdom out there. But it seems to me they've also had personnel issues (for example, Kenny Phillips' injury) and Umenyiora not playing up to form among others.. what are your feelings on the matter?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:17 PM)

Where to begin? Scheme. Misuse of personnel. Attitude and respect issues across the board. Injuries to key players, and a lack of depth when those players went down, especially with Phillips (remember how well the rookies played in 07 during the Super Bowl run?) and the execrable C.C. Brown. The idea was to build up a ton of depth up front and make the pass rush unbeatable. Instead, the rushers have still been disappointing, Canty's been hurt, Rocky Bernard's been a total non-factor, and the secondary minus Ross and Phillips has been exposed.

Adam (Miami)

How do you compare the NFC playoff teams to the AFC playoff teams? I feel like in recent years the field has been dominated by the AFC but this year the NFC seems much stronger. Thoughts?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:19 PM)

The AFC's outplayed by the NFC by a wide margin for something like the 14th consecutive year in a row in interconference games. I think that, if anything, the AFC is the stronger conference.

Joe (Philadelphia)

How many teams do you believe will make Head Coaching changes at the end of the season? There are a lot of rumors saying this guy will be gone that guy will be gone, I'm wondering how many will actually be gone?

Bill Barnwell
  (8:24 PM)

Hmm. We won't count Buffalo, which clearly has no plans of keeping interim coach Perry Fewell. I'll say Cleveland, Washington, Dallas, Chicago, Carolina, and Seattle. So six.

Tommy (DC)

Is Santana Moss basically done as a top receiver? His DVOA is horrendous this year, and as a small receiver who was mostly dependant on speed, it seems to me he could be someone who's basically finished as an impact player by 30

Bill Barnwell
  (8:24 PM)

I think it's hard for him to get downfield with the Washington offensive line in such bad shape, and although he might not have the blazing speed he once had, he's best as a downfield receiver as opposed to the possession role he mostly plays now. He'd be a great #2 somewhere like Philly.

Peter Berger (Phoenix, AZ)

One thing I love about the NFC East is that even though this game is one average team and one slightly below average team on MNF...everyone still seems hyped up for it. I think that's what defines a rivalry. I mean the Redskins kept their SNF game next week...and they're 4-9. I hope you still get hyped for NFC East games too!

Bill Barnwell
  (8:25 PM)

I get hyped for every MNF game! This one is no exception.

Bill Barnwell
  (8:25 PM)

Alright everyone, I'm going to hop outta here. Buzz will be with you shortly. Have a good holiday season, and I'll see you all in 2010.

Scott Lewis (Fredericksburg,va)

everything is good finally! Now will Giants be eliminated from playoff contention if the Redskins beat them? and yes I pick them. Fred Davis has a HUGE game.

Jay (NY)

Thank you Robert for reminding me I didn't have a beer in front of me. That has been changed.

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

Reason #5 why I love Fantasy Football... It makes you absolutely shamless and shallow. For instance, I'm a Redskins fan, but if their D has a good night, I lose my playoff fantasy game. So, being how shallow I really am, I'm hoping the Giants wax the skins. The skins aren't going to do anything anyway. Their coach is gone after the year. Screw them, I need a championship!

Buzzmaster
  (9:04 PM)

What are reasons numbers 1-4?

Mike Tomlin (Pittsburgh)

Lucky, what about my onsides kick yesterday?

Sammy Baugh (via mobile)

The Giants will win this game 73-0

Buzzmaster
  (9:06 PM)

What? I thought the chat was fixed until Sammy made that prediction.

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

Um...ok, that's probably reason #1... I was trying to be dramatic...

Buzzmaster

Will the Giants score here? If so, who gets the TD?

jeremy hawkins (erie, pa)

bradshaw gonna have 3 maybe 4 tds

This isn't John from Lexington, KY. I refuse to believe that.

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

Well, I'm good now on my Fantasy. I can sit back and drink and enjoy the fact I don't have to get up tomorrow and go to work...

Tom (NM)

So buzz, what did you get me for Christmas?

Buzzmaster

Ummmmmmmm ... this is awkward ...

JaMarcus: Win a game as a starter, then we'll talk.

John (Lexington, KY)

Touche'

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

So Buzz, we haven't had a good pop tart conversation in awhile. Are you still addicted to them? I kind of fell off the wagon. After awhile, you can only take so many pop tarts. I actually cheated a few months ago and got Toaster Strudels. If you have a toaster handy, they really are good...

Winner (Oakland)

mmmm...Toaster Strudels...

Gus (Cincinnati, OH)

JaMarcus, I believe Charlie Frye gets credit for the win since he was the starting QB.

Internet Conspiracy Theory Guy (Cyberspace)

Buzz is John (Lexington), John (Lexington) is Buzz

Winner Frye (Akron, OH)

Yeah!

Romans (PA.)

good point Gus

Buzzmaster
  (9:21 PM)

JaMarcus had an 88.1 passer rating even. It was a Christmas miracle!

Winner (Oakland)

Hey! I led the game-winning drive. I won the game. It's very simple.

Shawn the Colts fan in LA (LA )

can we get Mercury Morris on here when Colts go 19- 0

Rob (Indy)

Hmm, not near a tv, so I am relying on you folks to give me insight into the game, but if pop tarts and Jamacus Russel are more interesting I guess I am not missing anything. :-)

Scott Lewis (Fredericksburg,va)

Buzz what are your viewpoints on the Cowboys picking up Suisham and letting Folk go? Maybe Folk goes to the Redskins.

Buzzmaster
  (9:22 PM)

That would be a great white elephant exchange.

Pete (LA)

You can always judge the quality of the game being played by the content of this chat. Going to be an long, odd night if the Skins don't get going.

chris67 (clarksburg)

super bowl bound

Gus (Cincinnati, OH)

Hey, Giants on a third down. That's a moral victory right there.

Winner (Oakland)

I saw that ESPNLosAngeles.com launched today. Will there ever be an ESPNOakland.com?

I'm hoping for an ESPNbuzz.com

They better, there's a huge bonus in my league for shutouts. Just 3 pts is all I ask!

*sigh* Buzz, I told you it would be 73-0. I'm in the Hall of Fame. Listen to me.

Buzzmaster
  (9:30 PM)

You're right. What's weird is I usually go for the big-time predictions too. Really dropped the ball this time.

Gus (Cincinnati, OH)

Santana Moss is bound to do something big. I would have to say yes, the Redskins will score.

John (Lexington, KY)

Ganther better score at least once

Shawn the Colts fan in LA (LA )

are the Skins playing horrible to get Snyder fired?

Jerry (Orlando)

Redskins have one major problem that the Cowboys have. There is no leadership on that team.

The Suits (Bristol)

espnBUZZ.com? Hahahaha, who wants to watch some fat guy clean the restrooms? You people would actually watch that? Maybe we should make that Insider

Nathan (Knoxville)

The Skins can get their owner fired? The Clippers would've done that years ago if it was possible.

Buzzmaster
  (9:32 PM)

Yes, Shawn that's a reach.

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

Attitude reflects leadership... Damn straight I just stole that from Remember the Titans!

Pete (NC)

2 more Tynes field goals and I will be the happiest man on this chat. And that's not saying much.

Jerry (Orlando)

Great quote Robert!

Buzzmaster
  (9:33 PM)

That stat is embarrasing! Redskins -- what is wrong with your team?

connor (ohio)

is cambell going to have a good 2nd half

John (Lexington, KY)

2000 wins! Whooooooooo go Cats

ha (oh)

redskins are really sucking right now

Pete (NC)

BOOM!

Nathan (Knoxville)

Wait, what was the stat? I missed it.

Buzzmaster
  (9:35 PM)

The Redskins have gained approximitely .5 yards in this half.

Jerry (Orlando)

Don't count on it Connor. Giants know they have to win out and they won't give the Redskins even the smallest window.

Tom (NM)

Campbell might not make it to the 2nd half

Mike (Maryland)

hey Conor -- hopefully Campbell wont' HAVE a second half

Nathan (Knoxville)

OH...yeah, that's embarrassing.

connor (ohio)

good cause my oppent on fantasy has him i lose im done in fantasy

Gus (Cincinnati, OH)

You're being generous, Buzz. They're at -2.

Joey (Killington )

It is amazing how the teams matchup Skins played and beat better teams than the G-men

Ryan (NY)

No score for Redskins in 1st half

John (Lexington, KY)

Garbage time baby! Put me in the championship Ganther!!!

Jay (NY)

This is one thing I'll never get...how can you just punt a football your entire life, that's your job, and you can't boom them every time.

Nathan (Knoxville)

I'm hoping Campbell has a great second half. Specifically two touchdowns to Santana Moss.

shaddai (ky)

lets go nyg

Gus (Cincinnati, OH)

Washington has a dominant player on each side of the ball and they still stink. It's amazing.

Buzzmaster
  (9:38 PM)

Should I go in and take over at QB?

Phil (Brooklyn)

Look at the bright side, it will be hard for Campbell to have a worse second half

Mike (Maryland)

Welcome to the Redskins, Mr. Allen. Look at it this way -- you really can't go much further down from here.

Ryan (NY)

The previous comments were right, Redskins just need a great leader

Ladell (D.C.)

It's good to see my teammates arent missing a beat without me

Jerry (Orlando)

Buzz are the redskins beating themselves, or do the Giants just want it that bad?

Buzzmaster
  (9:39 PM)

When the game is this one-sided, I gotta go with both.

Jay (NY)

Noooo score...no bradshaw!

Ryan (NY)

Nah, Giants want it really badly

Buzzmaster
  (9:40 PM)

Steve Smith! Any fantasy owners in here have him?

Ryan (NY)

Steve Smith!!!

Jay (NY)

Thank you Steve Smith!

connor (ohio)

na

Nathan (Knoxville)

I do..I just didn't need him to do anything. Was already up by 40..

Joey (Killington )

Stevie YEAH BABY!!!!!! NEEDED THAT!!!

Paul (NE)

i have steve smith!!!!

Jerry (Orlando)

Steve Smith really has stepped it up as the hot receiver for a New York time that I expected to struggle in the passing game. He's been extremely impressive this year.

Nate (Vermont)

Now that the redskins have given us this win, can we have a second gift next week by beating the cowgirls

Tom (NM)

It's cold in DC...will there be more fans in the stands in the 4th qtr or Redskins points?

Joey (Killington )

Nate, Dallas has ALREADY lost 2X TO g-men

Paul (NE)

whos this buzzmaster? ive never done this b4

Buzzmaster
  (9:43 PM)

That would be me. I have a facebook page. Become a fan.

Buzzmaster
  (9:43 PM)

(apologizes for awesome plug)

Jay (NY)

Sorry Paul, he won't be gentle.

Nathan (Knoxville)

Sadly, on my second fantasy team, the opponent had the OTHER Steve Smith..so I'm losing there..

Buzzmaster
  (9:44 PM)

I feel like we need one of the Smiths to use their initial like when "Roy E. Williams" took one for the team.

Nathan (Knoxville)

You really have no choice, Paul.

Paul (NE)

r u a real person?

Buzzmaster
  (9:45 PM)

No.

Pete (NC)

Campbell for a rare 1st down.

connor (ohio)

who thinks the giants arlready won the game

Jerry (Orlando)

Here's an interesting statistic, the teams have combined for a total of five penalty yards.

Winner (Oakland)

Ok i'm back Buzz. Did you miss me? Sure you did.

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

He has a facebook page, but never updates it...

Buzzmaster
  (9:45 PM)

Boom roasted.

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

Buzz is a pop tart eating machine...

Buzzmaster
  (9:46 PM)

We need a Redskins-yard-o-meter: It's at 12 right now.

rainbow child (boston)

lets go giants

Ryan (NY)

Buzzmaster = HAL 9000

Erise (Memphis)

don't leave redskin fans!

Jerry (Orlando)

Better make that 29

Paul (NE)

dude buzz your my hero

Mike (Maryland)

prediction: Giants 72 Redskins 3

Buzzmaster
  (9:47 PM)

Mike are you sure about that 3? Seems a little high.

Nathan (Knoxville)

Wow...made a quick fan, Buzz..

Jerry (Orlando)

Predictions for next week. Redskins 42 Cowboys 6

connor (ohio)

maybe -3

Erise (Memphis)

put 3rd team in NY

John (Lexington, KY)

3rd and 20 draw plays are bigtime fantasy point gainers. Too bad the Redskins refuse to run them

Buzzmaster
  (9:49 PM)

Is anyone starting Redskins players?

Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)

Buzz, we don't allow plugs around here. That's 15 yards for excessive celebration. Repeat 1st down

Buzzmaster
  (9:50 PM)

Hey! That's not a foul! /throws challenge flag

connor (ohio)

my oppent is jason campell

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

If you are starting Redskins players, then you need to stop playing fantasy football. Either that, or you have had every player that is on IR...

Crying Cowboy fan (Redskins Nation)

Redskins will be a whole other team when my Cowboys will come to town. What gives!!!!

John (Lexington, KY)

I am starting Ganther in two leagues. Knew better than to start Forte against the Ravens

Gage (Texas)

So, what do the Cowboys have to have happen to lock up a playoff spot next week?

Leia (Far, far away)

Santana Moss was my only hope..

Jeffro (Indy)

Giants will probably squeak into the playoffs -- but get eliminated in the wild card round.

Jerry (Orlando)

Since this game is sealed, why not talk Saints and Vikings?

Buzzmaster
  (9:52 PM)

Can you believe the Redskins were one easy-FG away from beating the Saints?

riley (tx)

vikings will win

Jerry (Orlando)

Cowboys need a win with a Giants loss.

Jeffro (Indy)

Cowboys? Too inconsistent and cannot put together any kind of streak whatsoever.

Jerry (Orlando)

Any given Sunday Buzz. The Rams have 1 win.

chris67 (clarksburg)

all the redskins need are a team

connor (ohio)

what you think of harrisons 47 fantasy points

Buzzmaster
  (9:54 PM)

I'm bummed he's not on my fantasy team.

ben (madison wi)

if the giants win this game, i'm really nervous the packers dont make the playoffs. thoughts?

Crying Cowboy fan (Redskins Nation)

any chance they come back?

Pete (NC)

Campbell's not gonna make the second half!

Mike (Maryland)

Halftime can't come soon enough.

Jay (NY)

Campbell's fine, he just doesn't want to play anymore. I pulled this in bad losses when I was 6.

Buzzmaster
  (9:55 PM)

I'm suprised this chat hasn't taken a turn for the worst and started making "Campbell soup" jokes.

Howard (NY)

Great 1st half by the G=Man D

Buzzmaster
  (9:56 PM)

Also -- Peyton Manning in commercials = Television gold.

Howard (NY)

MMMMM Bad

Ryan (NY)

Collins any good?

Mike (Maryland)

Campbell should never have made it to starting QB in the first place.

chris67 (clarksburg)

Campbell is the joke

Tom (NM)

connor made me call it that Campbell wouldn't make it to the 2nd half. I blame connor

Buzzmaster
  (9:58 PM)

Welp, that's awkward for Jason Campbell...

Jay (NY)

Hurry up, kick a field goal!

Ryan (NY)

Peyton is hilarious

Mike (Ohio)

Campbell isnt the problem. Snyder is the problem

Ryan (NY)

This Collins guy is throwin' deep

Jerry (Orlando)

So now the Redskins make a huge play? Time to bench JC.

Jason (CA)

Jerry ur soo right. they need JC out so Redskins will win.

Tom (NM)

1 play and Collins doubled Campbell's output...Whoa

Mike (Maryland)

Case in point: Collins very first play -- and he doubles Washington's entire offense for the first half.

Jay (NY)

Just kick it now, you're just going to go backwards!

Rob (FL)

This is interesing

Buzzmaster
  (10:00 PM)

Todd Collins! Lookin sharp!

Ryan (NY)

Halftime!!

Tom (NM)

Nooooooooo

Art (MD)

Zorn's the worst

Jeffro (Indy)

I met Peyton during a Verizon promo here in Indy -- he is hilarious -- and he was there with Tony Stewart -- he looked like a GIANT next to him -- he's like 6' 5 " !!

Jerry (Orlando)

If Collins got the Skins to the playoffs by replacing Campbell, why does Campbell start? Collins only took one play to prove himself.

Jay (NY)

I told you!!!!!

Jerry (Orlando)

I think that should be called a fumble. Looks like he had possession. Not that it matters much.

Ryan (NY)

LOL...Collins is amazing in one play

Howard (NY)

Campbell all hype

chris67 (clarksburg)

the come back kid

Jerry (Orlando)

Halftime, so what are we talking during halftime?

Winner (Oakland)

I'm hungry.

Ryan (NY)

Have they shown Superbowl commercial teasers anywhere yet?

Jay (NY)

Oh I swear...kick the field goal.

Tom (NM)

new kicker....no faith in him either

Buzzmaster
  (10:04 PM)

Wow, redskins, wow.

Ryan (NY)

What was that shift?

Nathan (Knoxville)

That was awesome...do that every play..

Tom (NM)

You have got to be kidding me. Lowest of the low

Dave (Baltimore, MD)

Hahahahha really? That's just sad.

MT (CA)

What the heck are they doing?!?

Rob (FL)

What sport is this?

Jerry (Orlando)

This is not football. This is ridiculous.

Ryan (NY)

What was that?

Pete (NC)

What happened? I missed it.

Buzzmaster
  (10:05 PM)

You're lucky.

Rob (FL)

ridiculousball?

Dave (Baltimore, MD)

THAT needs to be on C'mon Man. They literally left nobody in to protect. What did they expect to happen?

Tom (NM)

Redskins need to be demoted to NFL Europe or UFL

Luke (Wilmington, NC)

Pete, any attempt to explain it will only serve to confuse you further.

Buzzmaster
  (10:06 PM)

Luke, let's be honest, there is no explanation for what just happened.

Ryan (NY)

I love C'mon Man

Roy (NY)

I think that play was called, "luck play save my job please"

Rob (FL)

Imagine the dumbest play ever....that's what happened

Eric (Yorktown, VA)

They just opened the swinging gate to let Mike Shanahan come on in.

Cowboys4Life (Texas)

I see a huge second half comeback

Buzzmaster
  (10:07 PM)

Time to grab some snacks. Be back soon chatters!

Buzzmaster
  (10:19 PM)

And we're back!

Luke (Wilmington, NC)

Looks like plenty of good seats opened up at the game.

Jerry (Orlando)

What a terrible way to start a half.

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

Anyone have any popcorn? Anyone?

Tom (NM)

Campbell has a ton of guts

Jerry (Orlando)

Robert I have tostitos.

nick (mi)

come backs..yesah right they only have 2 first downs lol

Jerry (Orlando)

Why is Campbell back in? He is the reason the team isn't in this game.

Ian (Ohio)

Washington better come out swinging.

Mike (Maryland)

Why is Campbell back in the lineup?

Brandon (Austin)

ok well i see campbell is back. now is nicks hurt???

Rex Grossman's Dad (Indiana)

Put Rex in!

Jimbo (Kentucky)

Who wants to see the giants win

greg (ashburn va)

tink zorn gets fired tommrow this looks bad!?

Nathan (Knoxville)

Worse O-line..Skins or Bears?

Josh (Oregon)

Where is Collins

Scott Lewis (Redskin Nation)

I am reading some post and comments and its funny that Giant fans are like WE ARE BACK but for God Sake's yall are beating the Redskins. Chill out. Beat a decent team with a winning record and then we will talk. They have only beaten KC,OAK,WAS,DAL,TB and ATL. only one with a winning record is DAL and that was a freaky wins.

Mike (Maryland)

Suggestion for Mr. Allen -- replace every single person in the Redskins organization.

Buzzmaster
  (10:26 PM)

I really hope they just kick a field goal this time.

Dave (Baltimore, MD)

Time for another swinging gate play!

Tom (NM)

swinging door..swinging door...swinging door

Mike (Maryland)

Run that freaky play again!!

willie (houston tx)

this game is no better or worst than watching a texan game win or lose u know the outcome

Buzzmaster
  (10:27 PM)

They did it! *throws confetti*

Jerry (Orlando)

Redskins almost blew that scoring chance.

Cowboys4Life (Texas)

THE COMEBACK BEGINS!

Buzzmaster
  (10:28 PM)

WOW!

Ted (Minnesota)

Wow, to top it off, a blocked FG!

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

And they all rejoiced... "yay! yay! yay!"

Tom (NM)

Yeah! Parade down Pennsylvania avenue tomorrow

Nathan (Knoxville)

Really wish he could've thrown that TD to Moss..-sigh-

Ted (Minnesota)

Uh oh, Washington has a chance.... a very, very small chance!

Mike (Maryland)

....of course

Dave (Baltimore, MD)

Blocked PAT. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2009 Washington Redskins.

Lee (Austin)

wonder if they'd like Suisam (sp?) back now? But he just signed with Cowboys ;)

stephen (charlotte, nc)

:( i wanted a shutout!

Luke (Wilmington, NC)

Fred Davis leads me to the brink of Fantasy glory.

Ryan (NY)

Giants let them get that TD

Tom (NM)

He missed the extra point...should have run a swinging door for 2

Cowboys4Life (Texas)

Hey three more TDs and the Skins take the lead

Buzzmaster
  (10:30 PM)

Are the redskins in simmons' "tyson zone" right now?

Norbert (NY)

Now what happens if the Skins lose by 3..

Ryan (NY)

Bet they are missing Suisham now

Jay (NY)

Those points were a reward for me since I just did the dishes.

Steve (Ohio)

How about an onside kick?

stephen (charlotte, nc)

definately YES!

Ted (Minnesota)

Maybe the Washington fans will start throwing snowballs!

stephen (charlotte, nc)

If the Redskins won, i would paint myself red

nachoballers (Texas)

Is Hicks hurt or not? anyone know?

Pete (NC)

Okay, I will start the chant every time the Giants get the ball.....FIELD GOAL, FIELD GOAL!

Ryan (NY)

BOSS!!!

Buzzmaster
  (10:32 PM)

shoeless ref alert!

Rob (FL)

Skins should ask the officials to play D

Ryan (NY)

Ref with injury...weird

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

ewww, nothing worse than convincing yourself that the white Jelly Belly isn't coconut only to find out that it is...

Jay (NY)

Shoeless Joe Ref? He's fixing the game!

Jerry (Orlando)

Giants will score quick. And the Redskins will never look good again.

Joe (Lansing,MI)

Redskins have talent they just only feel Its neccesary to win when they are losing.

jim (rhode island)

is hakeem nicks out?

Jerry (Orlando)

That reminded me of one of the Colts - Patriots playoff games a few years back where Brady's pass hit an official.

Mike (Maryland)

"Jerry (Orlando)Giants will score quick. And the Redskins will never look good again."AGAIN?? They never looked good to begin with.

blang (NJ)

Hicks hasn't returned to the field but no official word

Pete (NC)

It reminds me of The Longest Yard where Sandler makes the ref call a fair game.

Jerry (Orlando)

That last drive looked promising. Too little too late, but they did look good.

Will (Snowshoe)

its NICKS!

Buzzmaster
  (10:36 PM)

So which team do you guys think are getting in the playoffs? Will the Giants do it?

Joey (Killington VT)

I'm w/ ya pete ned Tynes in my #2 fantasy team FG !! FG!! FG !!FG!!

Buzzmaster
  (10:37 PM)

Hagan?! No one has Hagan on their fantasy team! Re-do, please.

stephen (yomommaland)

i HATE the cowboys go skins

jim (rhode island)

noooo!!!

Luke (Wilmington, NC)

That looked really, really easy.

Nathan (Knoxville)

Touchdown who?

John (Lexington, KY)

I hate being at home. So much food and I just dont stop eating

Buzzmaster
  (10:38 PM)

Preaching to the choir, john, preaching to the choir.

Will (Snowshoe)

Gotta have 6 from Nicks!!

jim (rhode island)

oh my, thank god, just as long as its NOT hicks

Jerry (Orlando)

Based on the way the Skins are playing, there is a chance to see Cowboys and Packers, as opposed to Giants and Packers. But how about the AFC race buzz? 6 teams still in the hunt who aren't a top 6 team right now.

Buzzmaster
  (10:39 PM)

The Ravens and Broncos are great and all, but I love the Cinderella story and want Vince Young and the Titans to make it. Anyone else?

steven knight (highland springs)

i need fred davis to score 1 more time so i can go to the championship in fanasty.

Joey (Killington VT)

nfc is 1. saints 2 vikes 3. eagles 4.ZONA 5. Packers 6.GIANTS.....AFC is 1.Colts 2. chargers 3. PATS 4. Bengals 5.Ravens 6. TITANS!!!!

blang (NJ)

Nicks' return is questionable with a hamstring injury

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

Hagan was a 99 overall receiver in NCAA2007 at Arizona State...

Jerry (Orlando)

And has anyone noticed that Houston is still in the race with two games making a run? I'm impressed just by that.

Tom (NM)

Right on buzz, get the stache in the playoffs

Buzzmaster
  (10:40 PM)

It's selfish, but I need maximum mustache in the playoffs.

Jerry (Orlando)

I'm giving that 6 to the Steelers, and the 5 to Denver.

8austin23 (a place)

I want the titans to make it. They have a killer running game, however this is Vince Young's first successful passing game.

Joey (Killington VT)

Why Houston LOVES .500

Cowboys4Life (Texas)

Giants will NOT make the playoffs. Sorry Giants fans. Cowboys will win the NFC East and the Packers and Eagles will be the wildcards

ben (madison wi)

no way the cowboys beat the eagles. too explosive on the o

Jerry (Orlando)

Houston loves 500, but the AFC is notorious for teams having to win 10 games to get in.

nick (mi)

lions or redskins

Buzzmaster
  (10:43 PM)

Ummm -- seriously? Wow.

Tom (NM)

beautiful...just freaking beautiful

John (Lexington, KY)

Hahahaha

Jerry (Orlando)

Redskins easily. Rams or Bucs? That's the real question.

Pete (NC)

Ladies and gentlmen, Jason Campbell.

naomi (san fran)

seriously????

Will (Snowshoe)

wow!

Glock019 (Albany, NY)

I like what I am seeing from the Giants tonight. They need to continue to play at this level.

Glock019 (Albany, NY)

Bye Bye Zorn!

Buzzmaster
  (10:44 PM)

Wow and to do this on Monday night in front of a national audience -- yikes.

Norbert (NY)

David Carr time?

Jerry (Orlando)

And there is still 21 minutes to play.

8austin23 (a place)

Cya Zorn.

naomi (san fran)

lol they keep saying "embarassing" over & over... they're right.

Pete (NC)

At least they get the ball back.

Jay (NY)

Cmooooon just run out the clock already...can they quit? Mercy rule?

naomi (san fran)

lol good point jerry, this isn't even the final score

Jerry (Orlando)

Not embarrassing. Humiliating. This teams flaws were laid out for the nation to see.

embarassed (Seattle)

Zorn is ready to go to Cleveland

Mike (Maryland)

Campbell better be on his way back to the locker room at this point.

Joey (Killington VT)

Redskins are only playn for the draft pick anyway this is all in the script for them give the nxt coach a better pick spot!!!

8austin23 (a place)

Put Todd back in! He can throw a football!

Buzzmaster
  (10:47 PM)

Can we discuss the name "Todd Collins?" Does he not sound like a golfer/poet?

Will (Snowshoe)

no way Nicks is coming back now!

Austin (a place)

Whose the worst coach, Jim zorn or Jim mora?

Angered (FedEx Field)

horrible just straight horrible. Worst it can probably get.

Luke (Wilmington, NC)

Don Draper would order a Todd Collins on the rocks.

Jay (NY)

I feel like I should be drinking a Todd Collins on the rocks.

Tom (NM)

Todd Collins...drink or Astronaut

Jerry (Orlando)

The Browns and Redskins need to rebuild from the ground up. But that starts with Personnel not players.

Pete (NC)

Todd Collins sounds like an uppity clothing line.

MT (CA)

What kind of a drink would it be?

Cowboys4Life (Texas)

Cowboys will be in the playoffs. Not the Giants. Giants will go 8-8

Jay (NY)

Todd Collins is the guy you want to beat in a ski off that if he wins, you lose your job at the mountain but if you win, his dad won't buy the place.

Winner (Oakland)

Todd Collins sounds like the name of the 15th best Chiropractor in San Bernadino.

sha (oregon)

Nicks???????????????????????????????????????????????

Austin (a place)

Look at this.. Collins got 1 snap and made a completion for more then 2 yards! Cambell has had more then 10.. and 4 completions! Epic Failure? Anyone with me?

Buzzmaster
  (10:50 PM)

Austin we're all with you, we're all with you.

Mike (Maryland)

Collins Collins Collins

Jerry (Orlando)

If the Cowboys win, they will clinch. No way New York can beat Minnesota.

Cowboys4Life (Texas)

I totally agree Jerry

Will (Snowshoe)

somebody needs to go down on the sideline and tell Hakeem how many are counting on him!! Its for the SuperBowl... does he not understand that?

Tom (NM)

The Saints and Vikings both looked beatable this weekend

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

I think this game sums up why the skins won't resign Campbell. Fortunately for them though, he will be a restricted free agent next year under the uncapped year. They can sign the 1 year tender and give Shanny a shot with him...

Jerry (Orlando)

Interesting fact. If Cowboys, Packers, Cardinals, and Eagles stay at their current seed. Week 17 will be a preview of the NFC wild card round.

Buzzmaster
  (10:54 PM)

I could also see Todd Collins being named after an award. Like "The Todd Collins Trophy"

Glock019 (Albany, NY)

The Giants have Minnesota week 17, do you think the Vikings will play all of their starters that week?

Dave (WA...St.)

Why no wild cat with Randal El???

Adam (CT)

Once again, we see how weak the Giants defense is. Can't defense against the screen pass all year.

Buzzmaster
  (10:54 PM)

TOUCHDOWN!!!

Luke (Wilmington, NC)

Did Todd change his name to Tom while on the sideline?

Buzzmaster
  (10:55 PM)

I momentarily changed his name. But Todd's back to his old self now.

Tom (NM)

much better

Glock019 (Albany, NY)

the Giants defense cant close the deal

John (Lexington, KY)

Wow. That 2pt conversion would have tied it for me. Need a Tynes FG or Ganther to get 30 yards

Jordan (DC)

back to that fake field goal...it would be the worst play in the history of the NFL if the giants returned it for a touchdown. i just cant get over how bad that was.

Buzzmaster
  (10:57 PM)

Can we also discuss how they were so set on it that even after the TO, they still went with it?

Mike (Maryland)

Btw: I invented that swing gate play when I was in 4th grade, on the back field of my elementary school.

Austin (nowhere..)

Jordan, the bad thing about that too was the fact he threw it forward. It could have been the best screen play in history if it worked. :)

Tom (NM)

Yeah, Joe Piscarcik was really pulling for a TD on that play so he could get off the worst play list.

Adam (Cleveland)

If the giants give up the game or end up with it being close they don't deserve to make the play offs.

Jay (NY)

Did they ever figure out how it was actually supposed to work? All I saw were OL on the left side. Who was he throwing to?

Luke (Wilmington, NC)

Buzz, it's like a college bowl game, you've got it in the playbook, it's your (Zorn's) last game, why not break it out and see what happens?

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

Hey Buzz, they did that against Denver and it actually worked. But that says a lot more about the stupidity of Denver than the genius, or lack there of, of the Skins...

Dave (Baltimore, MD)

In 4th grade, you generally have to count to 10 before you can rush the passer. Maybe Jim Zorn forgot those rules don't apply in the NFL?

Jerry (Orlando)

Buzz no one can explain that play. They were just so sure about it, and didn't even bring it on that play. Seems like they wanted to turn it over.

Buzzmaster
  (10:59 PM)

Although, after that botched extra-point, can we really blame them for not going for the FG?

Ben (OH)

What happened to Nicks? Is he out for the game?

Buzzmaster
  (11:00 PM)

Yes. He has been replaced by me.

Jerry (Orlando)

I wouldn't blame them if they chose not to play the fourth quarter either.

Adam (Cleveland)

I agree with luke he is just having fun and trying some wierd plays considdering that there is no way he is getting hired agian

Glock019 (Albany, NY)

On that swing gate play, Zorn should be glad they took the play calling away from him. There is at least one thing he can't be blamed for.

Al Gore (DC)

Mike, Mike, Mike...everyone knows I invented the swing gate play. It was in between inventing cheese wrappers and the Snuggie.

Jerry (Orlando)

Every since Buzz replaced Nicks, they have scored twice, something about him just gave them a slight spark...

Buzzmaster
  (11:01 PM)

Thanks, Jerry. It's the poptarts.

Adam (Cleveland)

Nick needs to try to become a much better recivier he drops to many balls that should be touchdowns

Tom (NM)

Maybe they will run the fumble-rooski on the next set of downs..they got nothing to lose

Buzzmaster
  (11:02 PM)

Whoa, fight!

Dave (Baltimore, MD)

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.

Luke (Wilmington, NC)

We're playing the fued!!!

Jerry (Orlando)

Don't listen to Pilsbury, the taste of toaster strudles doesn;t replace what poptarts can do for you. Just look at Buzz.

Mike (Maryland)

YES -- This is what this game has needed!!

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

Wow, about 4 players should be ejected there...

Pete (NC)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Tom (NM)

Can somebody explain why Eli is still in this game...nothing good can happen if he gets hurt

Jordan (DC)

MONDAY NIGHT FIGHT

Kyle (Lufkin, TX)

Oh man, that was awesome.

naomi (san fran)

this game is unbelievable... now a FIGHT???!

Buzzmaster
  (11:03 PM)

I'm telling you -- tyson zone -- literally.

Dave (Baltimore, MD)

Only one penalty? What? How? Like five people threw punches! That's an automatic ejection!

Pete (NC)

I swear, anyone who takes a swing at a helmet deserves a broken hand.

Luke (Wilmington, NC)

They called Haynesworth and no one else?!? Wow.

Jerry (Orlando)

Eli needs to sit, as does Jacobs and Bradshaw and Smith. Redskins won't come back.

Jay (NY)

Hahhahaa Jacobs doesn't get a penalty?

Pete (NC)

Wait, how is Jacobs not kicked out of the game? Swings = ejections, no?

Missing 81 (Seattle)

No ejections

Jeff (Detroit)

I NEED NICKS!!!!!

Scott (VA)

oh come on. Albert should be the last one to get a penalty he was protecting his team mates

Jerry (Orlando)

Only Albert gets a penalty? alot more than that need a penalty. And Jacobs deserves an ejection.

Cheif Wiggum (Springfield)

That's some fine officiating there, Lou.

naomi (san fran)

ok penalties are a total joke then... that was totally arbitrary! just one person gets the penalty and it's not even jacobs??

Pete (NC)

So let me get this straight...Eli gets sacked, Jacobs starts a fight, and the Giants get a 1st down out of it, and then score a TD? Ladies and gentlemen, your 2009 Washington Redskins!!!

Tom (NM)

Manningham might as well have been in Yosemite...he was wide open

John (Lexington, KY)

Simmons would also call that an "eff you" drive

Jay (NY)

They have to bench Eli at this point right?

Brandon (Minneapolis)

Any chance Nicks comes back to play tonight. I need 4 yards from him to win. . .

Dave (Baltimore, MD)

Okay, the Giants are seriously tempting the football gods here by throwing deep with their starters still in.

Buzzmaster
  (11:07 PM)

Yeah, what do you think their tipping point will be?

John (Lexington, KY)

Come on. 19 yards from Ganther

Tom (NM)

If Carr doesn't make an appearance then what

Jerry (Orlando)

Eli being sacked should have been enough to take him out of the game.

Missing 81 (Seattle)

NY needs to bench their starters now.

Mike (Maryland)

The Redskins have scored 4 times as many points as I predicted they would!

Missing 81 (Seattle)

45 to 12

J (MD)

On the 1st half trick play it looked like it was intended to isolate the WR (kelly) on the right side. He had 1 on 1 coverage beat, but the rush came too fast on that side and hunter made a bad decision and threw the other way.

Pete (NC)

I need 2 more points from Tynes. This is just terrible.

Buzzmaster
  (11:10 PM)

Pete -- he's all you have left?

Jay (NY)

Take out Eli, Bradshaw and the Defense isn't allowed to score anymore. Done and done.

Missing 81 (Seattle)

If you are Zorn what do you say to your team after this game? Bye.

Tom (NM)

It just goes to show that you can have all the money in the world but you cannot buy a championship

Buzzmaster
  (11:11 PM)

The Mets are a nice example, as well.

Pete (NC)

Unfortunately, yes Buzz. I have a bad feeling the Giants don't score again.

Jordan (DC)

while were talking about fantasy, just wanted to brag, i drafted chris johnson in 9 of 10 leagues. yeah. im in 8 championship games.

Jay (NY)

Oh come on, seriously? A Mets joke. This is stressful enough.

Robert (Huntsville, Al)

I never drafted Chris Johnson and I'm in 7 of 8 finals...

Scott (VA)

Buzz what about the Yankees... they bought a championship come on now.

Missing 81 (Seattle)

Nice slide, Jason.

danny (lawton, ok)

nice slide

Joe (Tampa)

Where's Nicks????

John (Lexington, KY)

If I get 2 more points Im batting 1.000. 3/3

Jerry (Orlando)

The Redskins will hand the Giants at least one more field goal. Still a lot of time left.

Jerry (Orlando)

The Yankees tried to buy a championship for the past 5 years, They just finally bought the chemistry too.

Pete (NC)

If Tynes gets me 2 more points, I'm in 2/2 without CJ.

Mike (Maryland)

If Campbell is with the Redskins next year, I will flip out.

Jerry (Orlando)

Bradford or Clausen to Washington??

John (Lexington, KY)

I need the same thing Pete

Buzzmaster
  (11:16 PM)

Prediction time: Will the Giants keep the starters in on the next drive?

Jordan (DC)

what if i have CJ, brees, ray rice and thomas jones? and im undefeated? just a thought.

Missing 81 (Seattle)

Bradford.

Mike (Maryland)

Look at that scrambling ability!! LOL, Sigh

Jerry (Orlando)

They will keep all of the. They don't need to but they will.

Buzzmaster
  (11:17 PM)

This is just getting predictable...

Jay (NY)

They should do a fake throw and kick a field goal this time.

Jerry (Orlando)

Clausen in St Louis? McCoy in Houston? Tebow in Jax??

John (Lexington, KY)

Get to FG range I should say

Pete (NC)

FIELD GOAL

John (Lexington, KY)

FG range baby

Mike (Maryland)

Collins Collins COLLINS

Danny P (Orlando)

Apparently Nicks is out because god hates my fantasy team

Buzzmaster
  (11:18 PM)

Don't worry. You're not alone. They also hate Greg (NY)

Greg ((NY))

Buzz, what are the chances that nicks comes back in? i need him to advance to the finals for fantasy. hes all i got left and i need 2 points...

Missing 81 (Seattle)

Collins? Please?

Dave H (NJ)

Nah, i'm sure they'll start pulling guys. Next week is now the biggest game of the season. Imagine if someone got hurt playin this one out...

God (Heaven)

I don't hate fantasy teams, I just don't like the Giants

Jay (NY)

I'm down for a David Carr to Nicks bomb TD.

Greg ((NY))

hahah yeah they do. this is ridiculous. All i had left was Nicks and all my opponent had left was Ganther and it was looking good for me untill Nicks goes out and Ganther scores a TD.

Jay (NY)

OK good start...now take out Bradshaw. His ankle could break at any time!

Buzzmaster
  (11:20 PM)

Why is he still in?? Am I missing something?

Dave H (NJ)

Sorry Greg, there's no way he's coming back in. No use risking any further injury to anyone, no matter how minute the injury.

Mark (Florida)

I just cut Jacobs from my fantasy team for being a Giant loser!

Pete (NC)

Look at that run!

Jerry (Orlando)

Protecting Jacobs it seems Buzz. And awesome play by Manningham!

Dave H (NJ)

Its D-Ware time. What is this? They want that bone to break in Bradshaw's foot?

Missing 81 (Seattle)

Redskins can't tackle either.

Mike (Maryland)

"Pete (NC)Look at that run!"That's exactly what the Redskins D was doing.

Jay (NY)

Seriously? They're throwing? I guess that's good for me but very confusing.

Todd (Louisville)

YOU PLAY...TO WIN...THE GAME!!! This is still anybodies ballgame.

Buzzmaster
  (11:23 PM)

Todd's right! This game will go down to the WIRE!

Tom (NM)

Buzz, is it too early to look forward to Favre next week?

Buzzmaster
  (11:23 PM)

Is that a serious question? I've been looking forward to it for weeks.

John (Lexington, KY)

It is Carr throwing though. A bit different

Jay (NY)

Todd is awful at math.

Todd (Louisville)

never too early to look forward to Favre

Jordan (DC)

what do you guys think bruce allen is thinking?

Jerry (Orlando)

Predicting another blow out in our last monday night game of the year.

Buzzmaster
  (11:25 PM)

What's your prediction Jerry?

Todd (Louisville)

Help

Todd (Louisville)

Hey! I resemble that remark, Jay!

Pete (NC)

And my season comes crashing to an end.

Missing 81 (Seattle)

Bruce Allen is thinking fire everyone.

Tom (NM)

Bruce Allen is thinking "I'm in the money"

DANNY (Lawton, OK.)

what did i just get into

Bruce Allen (DC)

umm...we got some work to do

Jerry (Orlando)

Minny 42 - Chicago 10

Buzzmaster
  (11:26 PM)

One tweak: Favre 42 - Chicago 10

John (Lexington, KY)

Always an INT possibility with a field goal

Mike (Maryland)

Jordan (DC)what do you guys think bruce allen is thinking?" -- Probably, "Man, I need a Todd COllins."

TeaMoe (San Diego)

David Carr will be a solid QB if he ever gets a decent shot again

Todd (Louisville)

book it Dan-O

Jerry (Orlando)

Carr is keeping Bradshaw from running and getting hurt. Smart move by TC.

John (Lexington, KY)

Over/Under 7 picks next week?

Jay (NY)

Stay in bounds! I'm more worried about the Giants Def scoring at this point.

Todd (Louisville)

Favre 495 -- Cutler minus infinity

Buzzmaster
  (11:27 PM)

Get the INT-o-meter ready for that one!

Jerry (Orlando)

I think the real question is points Favre scores vs points AP scores. Favre 4 TDs AP 2 TDs.

TeaMoe (San Diego)

Favre 2 INT cutler 4

John (Lexington, KY)

1 more point!!!!!!!

John (Lexington, KY)

Ganther, let's go

Jay (NY)

I'll predict 2 Tavaris Jackson INTs too.

Missing 81 (Seattle)

Has Campbell thrown a ball more than 10 yards all game?

Todd (Louisville)

The Cut-man will be good for at least 4 pics. Favre, of course, will be perfect

Buzzmaster
  (11:28 PM)

Favre passer rating = infinity

Jim Zorn (The Sideline)

im bored. whats up guys?

Mike (Maryland)

Hurry guys -- 33 points to score -- not a moment to waste!!

John (Lexington, KY)

Let's go total turnovers. AP is playing after all

Missing 81 (Seattle)

Only 33?

Dave H (NJ)

So do the Giants make the playoffs?

Mike (Maryland)

"Missing 81 (Seattle)Has Campbell thrown a ball more than 10 yards all game?" -- Umm, you see, he is incapable of this. That is the issue.

Steve (connecticut)

hmmmm how bout another sack????

Jay (NY)

Giants D has 5 sacks, 1 TD, 3 Ints and 1 blocked X-pt.

Jerry (Orlando)

Are you kidding me? With Campbell's god-like form tonight, no score is too high...

Buzzmaster
  (11:31 PM)

3 minutes left! We can do it!

Missing 81 (Seattle)

4th and 12. Throw for -1. Wow!

Tom (NM)

Man this quarter is worse than going to the motor vehicle department

Jerry (Orlando)

Houston has Miami and New England left. With Miami losing this week, and the last being at home, major playoff upset? thoughts?

Todd (Louisville)

Let's give Campbell a break. He has had 42 different O-coordinators during his brief tenure in the league

John (Lexington, KY)

I dont know which is more likely. Tynes getting a FG shot or Ganther getting me one more point

Dave (FL)

If Dallas wins out, the Giants do not make the playoffs. The Eagles are in. For them, it is a matter of whether or not they will secure a wild-card berth or a division title.

Jim Zorn (The Sideline)

fastest way out of fedex? anyone know?

FIRE-EVERYBODY (NW DC)

What the heck is wrong with Greg Blache? He has got to be gone after this season. Ayone who schemes up a defense that lines up Corners 10 yards off receivers when they need 4 or 5 yards, who stays in zone and doesn't blitz, who doesn't prepare his defense to look for the draw and the screen on 3rd down, doesn't deserve to coach in this league, period.

naomi (san fran)

which o-coordinator is to blame then, todd?

TeaMoe (San Diego)

I need another shot of Tirico so I can check out his watch again, bright orange.....awesome

Mike (Maryland)

"Todd (Louisville)Let's give Campbell a break. He has had 42 different O-coordinators during his brief tenure in the league" -- Yes, but he still can't throw a ball to save his life.

Tom (NM)

I guess Campbell will have his 43rd coordinator tomorrow

Kyle (Lufkin, TX)

I have faith in the Texans, considering my proximity to Houston, but with the Patriots playing as well as they have been lately, I dont see the Texans getting past them. HOWEVER, if the Texans play like they did in the first half in the last game against Indy, anything is possible.

John (Lexington, KY)

Im tied, but I think I lose the tiebreaker.

Dave (FL)

Washington certainly looked bad. They probably won't look this bad when they host Dallas next week. The main problem with the Redskins is their O-line.

Jerry (Orlando)

I think I will just get ready for the draft until the Championship week, which will show us a Saint - Vikings, and a Colts - Chargers match. Until then, I'm ready to see this seemingly loaded rookie class of next year.

Missing 81 (Seattle)

When Campbell has his 43rd for another team will that still be an excuse.

Buzzmaster
  (11:35 PM)

Under one minute!

Buzzmaster
  (11:37 PM)

Game over! Thanks everyone for sticking with us. Next MNF with Favre will be fun! See ya !

Tom (NM)

Merry Christmas everybody...Happy Favre next week
