Chat with Chris Mack
  (1:30 PM)

Chris will be here in a few minutes once Jurko's finished. Feel free to send in your questions now.
  (1:33 PM)

Alright guys, away we go...

Chris Mack
  (1:34 PM)

Because he's old. More than that, I don't think he would help them in any way. They need speed and depth to cover it this weekend, but he's not the answer long term. He may look good for a couple weeks, but what will he look like in December when he's banged up?

Chris Mack
  (1:35 PM)

You're right, he needs to man up. At the same time his offensive line hung him up to dry on Sunday night. He's not going to throw them under the bus, but at the same time, he's not going to take everything on his shoulders if he's not the only one who had a bad game.

matt (jacksonville,Fl)

with troy out whos going to start and whats his stats

Chris Mack
  (1:37 PM)

The starter at strong saftey this week will be Tyrone Carter, a verteran who's been around for both Super Bowl teams. He's a big hitter, but he just doesn't have the same skills that Troy has. There's a rookie who played at West Virginia and Michigan, Ryan Mundy, who will probably see a good amount of time too.

Chris Mack
  (1:39 PM)

If the O-line continues to block the way they did Sunday night then the whole team is going to have a slump. With Kevin Jones out, they may just have to ride Forte until the wheels fall off.

James E.B. (Chicago)

Some folks are thinking the Bears will be 8-8, but I'm a die hard fan who thinks despite early injuries to the defense, It's Cutler to the Air Baby!!

Chris Mack
  (1:41 PM)

Aside from Detroit, that's a tough division, but I think 9-7 or 10-6 is more realistic. But if you lose a couple more games like they did on Sunday, they might be cooked. At 9-7 they may still not make the playoffs.

Mike (NYC)

Bigger injury impact for solely Sunday's game: Polamalu or Urlacher?

Chris Mack
  (1:43 PM)

I contend it's Urlacher, only because he is the anchor on that defense. Polamalu isn't necessarily the anchor, he's a free-wheeling playmaker. I'd be more worried if the Steelers had lost James Farrior, who plays the same role for the Steelers as Urlacher for the Bears.

Tim (Chicago)

Who are you...and why would we want to chat with you?

Chris Mack
  (1:45 PM)

One of the midday hosts on ESPN Radio 1250 in Pittsburgh. And, it makes me feel special. Any Steelers questions, ask away.

Avi (basement computer)

Who do you think is better looking...Ben Roethlisberger or Jay Cutler?

Chris Mack
  (1:46 PM)

While I'm not a professional Man-grader, I'll give them both a C . Ben loses points because of the crooked motorcycle nose, and Cutler for the double chin.

Tony (Zimbabwe)

Would you ever move to Chicago?

Chris Mack
  (1:46 PM)

Yeah, why not? It's like a big Pittsburgh with baseball.

Aris (Chicago)

What did you take from Greg Olsen's first game with cutler, do you think he will have a better game against the Steelers?

Chris Mack
  (1:47 PM)

Good pass-catching tight ends always have an opportunity to do well against the Steelers and that's enhanced with Polamalu's absence.

Mike (Orange County, CA)

Tim, why are you a jerk and why should he answer you?

Chris Mack
  (1:48 PM)

Thanks for the back-up Mike.

Toby (Eugene)

Will mike tomlin use Dennis dixon in any wildcat role this year

Chris Mack
  (1:49 PM)

No. For some inexplicable reason, offensive coordinator Bruce Arians refuses to even practice the wildcat.

Derek (Frankfort)

It's clear that GB focused on stopping the run and minimizing our tight-ends, thus making the Bear's beat GB by use of their receivers. I would think that most teams will try to do this. How can the Bear's best game plan against this?

Chris Mack
  (1:50 PM)

They have to strike for a couple big plays early in the game. Use Devin Hester to stretch the field and once that's done, it should open up the seams for the tight ends.

Mike (NYC)

Judging from your game last week against the Titans, your run offense is not scary whatsoever. If I know the Pittsburgh Steelers, it's that they are considered a tough running offense. Is Pittsburgh ready to give that up or was the first week just an anomaly?

Chris Mack
  (1:51 PM)

They've been in the process of giving it up for a year and a half. Ben Roethlisberger claims to call 40% of the plays. If you were him, would you want to run the ball or air it out?

Carter (Rockford)

Do you think Cutler throws 4 interceptions again? or 4 TD's this time?

Chris Mack
  (1:52 PM)

One touchdown, two picks.

Rashard Mendenhall (Pittsburgh)

Where's the love for me? Does anyone really think Willie Parker is a better runner than I am?

Chris Mack
  (1:53 PM)

Rashard, you'll get your love as soon as you break a run longer than 12 yards.

Shane (Los Angeles, CA)

C-Mack: How could the O-line be so brilliant in pass protection yet so craptastic creating holes for the running game? Not a Steelers fan here, but I definitely hope they make Crybaby Cutler cry some more.

Chris Mack
  (1:54 PM)

That's a good question for both offensive lines. Whichever QB stays cleaner this Sunday has a better shot of winning.

John Madden (Pittsburgh)

You believe in The Curse now, don't you?

Chris Mack
  (1:54 PM)

Yes, but hopefully it won't have the same effect on Troy that it had on Vince Young.

aric (chicago)

how big a game do you predict hines ward to have?

Chris Mack
  (1:56 PM)

It depends on how much Chicago wants to blitz. Hines is a great hot route target, but if Ben has time to make plays he'll look for Santonio down the field.

Jesus V (El Paso, TX)

Do you think Jay Cutler is trying to hard to prove himself rather than just getting out there and playing the game? Will nathan vasher ever back to his 06' form

Chris Mack
  (1:58 PM)

I think Cutler has always been the kind of player to hear too much of the criticism. If he can learn to concentrate more on being a QB and a leader for his offense and his team, then he should be able to put up the numbers he put up in Denver. As for Vasher, he's going to have to get on the field first. Bowman is getting the start on Sunday.

Toby (Eugene)

True of false, Dennis dixon would have won the heisman if not for his injury?

Chris Mack
  (1:59 PM)

False, because Tim Tebow is a god.

Nathan Vasher (Chicago)

I'm not starting this week. Pretty much you're screwed. No 60-yard TDs to end the game for you.

Chris Mack
  (2:00 PM)

You may not be back there Nate, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Santonio torch Bowman once or twice.

Mike (The Bettis Grille 36)

Will the Steelers pass more than they run on Sunday?

Chris Mack
  (2:01 PM)

Yes. 32 pass attempts for Ben and a combined 30 carries for Willie and the Steelers backfield.

Chris Mack
  (2:02 PM)

I guess that's it. Enjoy the game on Sunday everybody. Thanks for all the great questions!
