Chat with Paul Kuharsky

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:02 PM)

Greetings folks. Merry Christmas Eve, Happy Holidays. Thanks for coming....

Gil Samson (Urban Jacksonville)

What would you do if the AP didn't give you proper attribution on a story you did, which they referenced, as is what happened to Michael C. Wright and his interview with Fred Taylor?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:03 PM)

My editor would certainly be on the phone. Michael did great work there and obviously has a great relationship with Fred.

Michael (Chapel Hill, TN)

Fisher is the reason we have not locked up the playoffs this year.Fisher is the ONLY reason we probably will not make them at all.THE TEAM WAS GOOD ENOUGH. THE COACH WAS NOT.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:03 PM)

It has been Fisher's worst year, I agree.

Chad (Houston)

The physical Dolphins await the Texans in Miami. (Kuharsky). Thats all you could give us on the Texans for the power poll? The Dolphins got an adjective in our comment section......and we didn't?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:04 PM)

Earn your adjective? A touch nitpicky, no?

Aaron (Lennox (SD))

Paul, Did you know the last game Philip Rivers lost in the month of December was his freshman year in college in which he was still named the MVP of that bowl game...so with that said...what do you think the Titans chances are of handing him his first December loss in 8 years?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:05 PM)

Decent. Means more to Titans and Chargers will be tired and not thrilled about whereabouts for Christmas.

Rick B. (Indianapolis)

If the Colts have an undefeated season and win the Super Bowl will you still pick the Titans as next years champs this spring?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:06 PM)

Nope. Hey, I'm standup. I misread the Titans big time. I was wrong. But it was not unreasonable to think they could pick up where they left off. I certainly will be thinking the same way about the Colts next summer.

Jared (Indianapolis)

Paul, love your blog. Do you see the possible return of Anthony Gonzales for the playoffs for the Colts, as a possible Marvin Harrison return in 2007 that actually hurt the Colts in the playoffs?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:06 PM)

They put him on IR this morning. Just announced it within the last hour. Write up in the blog.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:08 PM)

How many Jags questions from Gil can I take before ticking everyone else off? Give me an over-under...

Annie (Lennox)

Do you think Coach Kubiak is umm walking on broken glass? ie. i mean his job is in jeopardy?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:09 PM)

He's certainly up in the air. But I think McNair would prefer not to make a change.

Greg (Indy)

Paul, the defense that Denver played against the Colts was interesting. 4 DL, 2 LB and 5 DB's. The first three series it was not effective, but after that the Colts did not do much. Do you see other teams doing this? Do you feel the Colts lack of production after the first three series was self inflicted or becuase of the defense the Broncos were playing?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:10 PM)

It's just a nickel. Plenty of teams play a lot of nickel against the Colts. Manning had a stretch this season where he wasn't doing as well against it. But I think it was more a fluke than any trouble with a personnel group.

Kevin (pittsburgh)

Paul, you really think the Jaguars should reach for a draft pick just based on need? They need to collect talent regardless of the position. They could pick a RB in the 1st round and if he is the BAP then I have no problem with the pick. When you start drafting for need is when you get in trouble...

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:10 PM)

I think if BPA doesn't line up with something you need -- which will be rare for them -- you look to trade out to get to a spot where it does.

Not Gil (Jacksonville)

Paul is your holiday season devasted by the loss of Melky Caberra?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:12 PM)

i will take innings-eater Vazquez, thank you. But the Melk man could be clutch and was a good personality that helped keep things light.

Not Gil (Jacksonville)

Paul why do you think the Jags need to draft for need rather then BAP? This team needs talent regardless of the position. They could take CJ Spiller in the first round and I wouldnt care if he was BAP on Mr. Smith's big board.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:14 PM)

Because with five picks they HAVE to address the pass rush, quarterback and safety. There is room for BAP there. But they need to get good people for the spots they need upgrades at.

Mitchell (Virginia)

For fantasy purposes, how long do you think Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne will play in their games before they are sat down?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:14 PM)

No idea. I can't help you there and don't want to be the guy who messes up your game. Depends too on your alternatives.

Over (Rated)

Paul I might be wrong but i keep reading this is a strong QB class coming out but I dont see it. Bradford, McCoy, Claussen, I just dont see a cant miss prospect.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:17 PM)

I don't either. I do think Bradford has a chance to be pretty good. Don't love others, but don't know them real well either. Pike and LeFevour are in there too.

Jeremy T. (Mooresville, Indiana)

Merry Christmas! I was wondering why you think all the talk through the year is always about some other division (NFC North) but it always seems to come back to the AFC South in the end when everyone realizes we have the toughest division in the league?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:18 PM)

Is there some huge honor in being the best division? It's gong to send only one team to the playoffs. If 9-7s and 8-8s make for best, so be it. Ranks as best in our Power Rankings. It's a good division, with a lot of talent. But two underachievers this year, same as NFC North.

Taylor (California)

Just read your Worthy of Consideration article, could you explain what you meant when you said that VY isn't in the same class as Benson since he wasn't considered a bust? Just about everyone thought he was pretty much done including you if I remember correctly.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:18 PM)

Wasn't set free by the team that drafted him.

Greg (Indy)

What do you feel the Colts need address first in next years draft?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:19 PM)

I think offensive tackle ranks as the biggest need. They need better options there. I'd love for them to get a return man, but don't think it'll ever be a priority. But they will go BPA for sure early.

Santa Claus (North Pole)

I say the colts have a 30% chance of winning their first playoff game regardless of the opponent.. your thoughts?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:19 PM)

Much higher. Those potential first round opponents aren't very good.

Red (TN)

Lots of folks were on the Jared Cook and Javon Ringer bandwagon at the start of the season. Rookies can often disappear and CJ's season has made Lendale and Javon non-factors, but what happend to Jared Cook?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:20 PM)

His ankle injury really set him back and he lost his confidence. Hell be a factor in the year's to come, but this is a lost season for him. Disappointing.

Josh (KY)

Are you surprised te Colts put Gonzalez on IR? Why did they wait so long when it was evident that he wouldnt return?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:21 PM)

As I said in my post on it, it's not like they needed the roster spot. Where were they left thin by sticking with him and Vinatieri? So they held out hope, it didn't work out, and now they will add a guy who is likely inactive just as Gonzo was.

First (Christmas)

Excited about your first christmas being a father?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:21 PM)

Yes. I just love watching him look at the lights on the tree. It's wonderful, thanks.

Razel (Texas)

Paul is it safe to say the titans will draft elsewhere now that Vince is showing he capable of being QB 1, thx paul Merry Christmas

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:22 PM)

I won't be surprised if they draft a quarterback. I think they need to have alternatives in place in case VY tanks again. And if Dinger is in place they can at least develop a guy.

Fred (SD)

Why are you such a homer for the Titans? You actually think they will beat the Chargers? Laughable!

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:23 PM)

I didn't say they will beat them. I said they could beat them. You think the better team always wins? That the league is predictable? You watch different games than I do. And who's more likely to be a homer -- you in SD or me as a detached professional? Allow me to answer: you.

Interesting (Question)

Who has a better chance of being on their respective team come training camp next summer, VY or DG?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:24 PM)

VY will be on the Titans, I have little doubt now. Garrard is going to have to take a salary reduction. I don't see how he won't accept that and be there too.

Taylor (California)

What's your professional opinion on Harper? Obviously the fans are just about done with him and have wanted Hood for some time now. Is it just a knee jerk reaction or is Harper objectively that bad?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:25 PM)

He's slipping. But this idea that Rod Hood is Revis is pretty silly. He got hot and played well at the right time. And he may be back on the field this week as Harper is hurt.

Gary (Cleveland)

What are your thoughts on the Colts bringing back injury plagued players such as Sanders and Gonzalez next year. They can be great contributors when healthy, but can never seem to stay healthy.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:26 PM)

Gonzalez is injury prone? There is no doubt Gonzalez is back. Sanders will be a financial issue. If affordable, they can keep him and not rely on him, have him as gravy.

Dave (Indy)

Hey Paul! My preseason super bowl pick was Eagles over Chargers. How are you likin that right now?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:27 PM)

Better than mine -- Pats over Falcons. But I think only one of your teams will get there, and I can't tell you which.

Josh C. (Louisville, KY)

Which AFC South team do you think has the biggest game this week, and what do you expect the outcomes of the three non-Colts games to be?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:27 PM)

They are all equally big. Lose and the remaining playoff hopes are extinguished. I don't generally predict winners.

Javier (San Antonio (via El Cerrito, CA))

Since Lendale White will probably be gone next year, do you see Javon Ringer as a worthy #2 RB for Titans or should they be looking for a Chris Johnson-helper?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:28 PM)

I think Ringer's the guy.

Chris (KC)

Would you credit Matt Cassell struggles to the his offensive line/recievers, or personally lack of experience. Was he too much of a risk?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:28 PM)

Haven't seen enough of them to know. He has a chance with a better supporting cast.

Mike (Cincinnati)

The Bengals are looking at a 3 or 4 seed right now for the playoffs. Which team would make a better matchup, Broncos or Ravens?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:28 PM)

I'm not real impressed with Denver.

Chris Johnson (TN)

Paul, can you tell me why I typically slow down the last few yards of a touchdown run, even though not really showboating like I used to? I've been tackled close to the goal line on several occasions because of this (Arizona's Cromartie for example). Don't I put myself at unnecessary risk for injury? Why doesn't Fisher pound this into me?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:30 PM)

Fisher is busy coaching put returners how to fair catch inside the 10. CJ apparently doesn't care about being tackled an extra time or two. As long as the ball is secure, I am not real concerned.

Steve (Indiana)

Hey Paul you're an AFC South guy, do you think the Jaguars should go after Tebow in the draft?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:30 PM)

Nope.

Josh (KY)

So glad to see that you believe Manning should be MVP and Johnson Off Player of the Year. Is the MVP designed for the most valuable player to his team throughout the NFL or the most valuable player throughout the entire NFL.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:31 PM)

It's the league MVP, not the best team MVP.

Fred (Long Beach)

If -- IF -- the Colts were to go 19-0 and win a second title, would they be the team of the decade, or is that pretty much the Patriots award?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:31 PM)

It would certainly open up a debate that would have no definitive answer.

Arsonist (Someplace warm)

FF Final this weekend. Primary receivers are Andre Johnson & Welker. Who should I start as my 3rd - Britt or Gage?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:32 PM)

Tough to know. I'd lean Britt, but I don't want to be responsible for your loss if that's wrong!

Chris (Indy)

Merry Christmas Paul,As a Colt's fan I am weary of resting people before the playoffs. There are a couple of exceptions though. The biggest in my opinion is Joe Addai. I think with that with the stable of young running backs that could use the reps, coupled with the fact that your primary running back, in my opinion, is in most need of rest they should give Brown and Hart most of the carries the next two weeks. What say you!

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:32 PM)

I wrote yesterday that I think they should and will use Brown a lot. Get him back to game tempo, while resting Addai.

Awayne (Indy)

Pollian has had a small weakness when drafting O-lineman lately. Is this just a couple of guys that haven't panned out or should there be concern that the O-line could continue to creep downward?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:33 PM)

I think Ugoh was a miss. I think Pollak was a weak draft year and it's largely a result of that.

Josh C. (Louisville, KY)

Do you think it's likely that 'Dinger will move to Chicago this summer? It hurt the Titans immeasurably to lose Schwartz, do you think this would have a similar impact?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:34 PM)

Covered it all right here:http://espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/post/_/id/7395/fate-of-bears-smith-could-impact-titans

Brent (Indy)

PK, as the playoffs start to approach more and more experts like to say that the Chargers have played better in the streak than the Colts? A hard look into the schedule shows they have both played pretty much the same schedule. Your thoughts?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:34 PM)

Hard to say anyone is better than the Colts, and the schedules haven't been that different. You can only beat the teams on your schedule.

Christopher (Houston)

My Texans have really blown their playoff chances in the last few weeks. What do you feel was the factor to our struggle?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:35 PM)

Interior offensive line and run game were killers. End of game failures No. 1.

Kyle Oldham (Springfield, MO)

PK , what are the chances of Heimerdinger leaving Tennessee , and what are the chances Jeff Fisher gets canned? Im hoping Dinger takes over HC for the Titans and continues his progression with VY

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:36 PM)

Not going to happen. He could wind up in Chicago -- that's just me making a logical connection. It would be a smart move for the Bears. Fisher is safe.

Matt (Jax)

Is David Garrard the long time answer in Jacksonville?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:36 PM)

I think not. Just too inconsistent.

Awayne (Indy)

Is the demise of Steve Slaton something that can be fixed next year with him being healthy and finding a 2nd back to take some carries?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:36 PM)

I believe so.

Gil Samson (Urban Jacksonville)

Vic Ketchman said earlier this week that "...Reggie Hayward, Kynan Forney and Ernest Wilford are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents, and Atiyyah Ellison, Clint Ingram, Greg Peterson, Montavious Stanley and Troy Williamson are to become restricted free agents."Do you see the Jags losing any of these players and acquiring picks in the process, compensatory or otherwise?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:37 PM)

Nobody says 'We like this guy but we'll take a compensatory for him instead.' You don't know what the pick will be and it's a year off. That's not a bad list, they can live without any of those guys. Ingram would be priority one and they won't let him go.

Vince Young (Nashville)

Have we gotten to the point we can say I'm not a bust, or are we still waiting to see how I handle adversity (and losing to the Colts is not what I consider "adversity")?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:38 PM)

Closer and closer. Still an adversity question to me. And if they lost Dinger it would be a killer.

Frank (Pell Lake, WI)

Have you heard anything about the field conditions at LP Field? I haven't heard much about any stadiums needing new sod. Certainly not the end zones at Soldier Field!

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:38 PM)

Looked great on Sunday against Miami.

Tim (Avon, IN)

Play Santa for a moment, what do you give the Colts to have a successful postseason?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:39 PM)

A couple big plays from special teams?

Josh C. (Louisville, KY)

If the Jags move to LA, will they stay in the AFC South? (Are the geographic assignments for any purpose other than to have a name for the group?)

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:39 PM)

They aren't moving any time soon. If they did, the league would not hurry to realign, I don't believe. Ultimately, maybe they'd try to flip them with St. Louis. The names are obviously loose categories.

waylon (washington )

I am watching first take and rob parker said my titans have not play any good teams in the last 8 game why is it when my titans do good they have an easy schedule like last year . I am not asking anybody to say we are going to win the superbowl but ot say we have not played any good teams in the last 8 games is wrong. The texans jags cards and fins are all playoff caliber teams. Even the 49ers are a good team. The rams ok that is an easy win right now. so why are the titans never given credit when they play good .... ps what do you thing are chances are tomorrow playing the chargers

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:41 PM)

My advice: Don't worry about credit. Who cares what one dude on TV thinks? You follow them closely and know them better than him. Accept, and let go. I think they have a reasonably good chance.

Tim (Avon, IN)

Marry Christmas PaulIf you were Santa Claus, what one thing would you give the Colts to help in the postseason?I think a healthy Bob Sanders on the active roster would be great but impossible. I would settle for a healthy Charlie Johnson.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:41 PM)

You're not kidding about impossible Sanders is on IR and not eligible to return.

Bob (LA)

Why does the local media in Nashville never criticise Fisher or make a fuss about some of his personel desicions. Its painfully obvious sometimes with situations like Harper, the punt returning fiasco, etc.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:42 PM)

Do you not read Jim Wyatt's report cards or David Climer's columns?

Ryan (Indiana)

So are you saying addai will see little playing time?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:42 PM)

I'm saying if they pull people, he'd likely be among the first.

Will (Missouri)

Hey Paul, Whats the Titans biggest advantage over the Chargers ?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:43 PM)

Chris Johnson is their biggest advantage over anyone.

S Siva (Murfreesboro, TN)

Which do you think would be considered a greater achievement for CJ? Breaking 2000 yards rushing, or Faulks total scrimmage yards record?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:43 PM)

Both big deals. But in the American football consciousness, 2,000 is a bigger deal than scrimmage yards.

Mad Mike (Houston)

Paul: I like Kubiak a lot and it seems the players love hm too. Is that possibly the problem here? My issue with this team is that they seem to ofter be unprepared, have no discipline, based on the inability to hold onto the ball and the silly panaties they have taken. Is there also maybe so REAL veteran leadership missing here? Your Thoughts?..........................MM

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:44 PM)

Reasonable questions. I do expect if he's replaced we'll see an opposite type of personality hired.

Santa ((South Pole))

Quick break from getting toys ready to ask a question.Do all players who have been on the roster during the year win a ring if the team wins the super bowl? Or is it just the active players? Ho Ho Ho

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:44 PM)

Not positive on that. Think it's a team by team decision.

Kyle O. (Springfield, MO)

Fisher being safe? AHHH , Im sick of being 1 and done in the playoff's , 15 years as HC , .500 Record in the regular season , he is 5-6 in the playoff's , 0-1 in the superbowl , and every year his teams make the same mistakes in the playoff's , I think he is past his prime , What other coach would be givin 15 years to win a superbowl? NONE! , and on top of that , I thought this was his best team , and it takes him 14 weeks to get to .500?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:46 PM)

If you coach for 15 years in today's NFL, the league is designed for you to be .500. What did you think of Cowher? Because he didn't win his Super Bowl until, what, his 14th season. How many times would you have called for hi to be fired? There is some5thig to be said for consistency. You'd rather be Washington, hiring again?

The IRS (Washington)

Don't forget that due to Simon's timely arrival, you also get an extra tax deduction!

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:46 PM)

Looking forward to our meeting with our accountant. Look at you, bringing Christmas cheer.

Brent (Indy)

PK, Can you explain the playoffs? 1,2 off. 3 plays 6; 4 plays 5. The NFL reseeds correct? meaning.... the lowest goes to Indy, highest to SD?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:47 PM)

You've got it. I wouldn't say reseeds. the seeds remain in place. Colts as No. 1 then get lowest remaining seed. So it's not a preset bracket.

Jason (TN)

So how does the Titan defense plan to cover Antonio Gates?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:47 PM)

Good question., I think you've got to ask Vincent Fuller to hold him up and gang tackle.

jamie (michigan)

whats ur take on the packers paul?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:48 PM)

Like them. Think they are dangerous.

Alan Burge (Houston)

Your honest assessment of Dunta Robinson and his market value in free agency come March....

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:49 PM)

Better days are behind him. Could luck out and get a big contract because of limited number of free agents. But won't be worth a costly, lengthy deal.

Chris Tomasi (ann arbor mi)

is filli moala a bust? is there any potential?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:49 PM)

You can't call a first-year guy a bust. He's not been good, but he gets time.

Tim Graham (Mom's House)

Ok PK, it's Christmas Eve and you're here bringing the goods to the people while I'm at moms drinking Zima. I capitulate. You're the best ESPN blogger out there.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:50 PM)

At long last...Should I do a Costanza and bow out on a high note even though it's a bit early?Merry Christmas, Timmy. And all.

Brent (Indy)

Caldwell vs. Dungy: I think Caldwell has fiercer mentalty than Dungy, he will look to step on the JETS this weekend. Your thoughts on the Colts different mental state this year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:50 PM)

We'll see if it's different Sunday. Dungy's played to win in the third to last game before with nothing at stake too, I believe.

Joey Marchy (Urban Jacksonville)

PK, will the AFC South be the strongest division in 2010? It seems like we are creeping up that way. I know I wouldn't want to play the Colts, Jags, Titans and Texans next year.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:53 PM)

AFC South has the NFC East. That's a lot tougher than St. Louis and Seattle. But AFC West should be easier than AFC East has been. Overall tougher, I think, so the division won't win as many games.

Ross (TN)

I'll preface this by saying I'm a diehard Titans/Bulluck fan, so selfishly I want him back. With the ACL injury keeping him out and given his age, you've been saying some team is going to offer him more money than the Titans would pay. I would agree before this past week, but now, is there more of a real chance they get him back at a decent deal and allow him to rehab? Is Thornton the one who ends up being gone and McRath steps in for him?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:54 PM)

I think he won't be signed til late. If the Titans find a replacement in free agency of the draft, I think they won't look to him. I have gotten an indication they are done with him. But we'll see.

Matt (IN)

PK, A Boss question. What is your opinion on the song "Tunnel of Love"? I think it's great but I've heard that a lot of Bruce fans hated it.

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:54 PM)

Love it. Saw it live in Detroit not long ago. Phenomenal.

Jason (TN)

ok, so what is this fascination/love/hate for Jeff Fisher? I agree that this year has been weak for him...but the Titans could definitely do a lot worse at the HC'ing position. I know it's a fickle league, but isn't there something to be said for the stability in place?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:56 PM)

I'm with you. But people now talk about coaches like quarterbacks., They always want a different one. Fisher's an underachieving playoff coach, that's the primary beef and it's fair.

dave (home)

hey paul, merry xmas you think chris johnson will break eric dickerson's rushing record?

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:58 PM)

Nope.

travis (jacksonville)

Will the jags draft thinking 3-4 or 4-3? I would like to see Jags draft Mount Cody. The front 3 would consist of Big John Henderson, and Terrance pot roast Knighton at ends with Mount Cody playing point. thats a lot of beef

Paul Kuharsky
  (12:59 PM)

They are back to 4-3 and will stick with it.

Matt (IN)

Have you heard any details about Garcon's hand? They keep saying bruise, but I'm not sure I'm buying it. Let's face it, the Colts aren't always forthcoming about injuries.

Paul Kuharsky
  (1:00 PM)

And thus, no, I've heard no details.

Kevin (DC)

Who is more likely to make the playoffs, the Titans or the Jags?

Paul Kuharsky
  (1:01 PM)

I don't think a second AFC South team is getting in.

Awayne (Indy)

Paul Christmas dinner Turkey,Ham, or something else?

Paul Kuharsky
  (1:01 PM)

Ham. Yum.

Finley (via mobile)

Ham? Again? I asked for steak. We haven't been communicating well and I feel left in the dark

Paul Kuharsky
  (1:02 PM)

You know you get nothing but dog food. But there may be a present or two for you in the pantry.

Kyle Oldham (Springfield, MO)

Who do you see as candidates to replace Dinger as OC if he does infact bolt to Chicago like reports are indicating? I dont keep up with many assistant coaches around the league , Tennessee always seems to do stuff like this inhouse...Could it be Craig Johnson or Mike Munchak given the keys to run the offense? Who out there would you see as a good fit if he does leave?

Paul Kuharsky
  (1:03 PM)

I have no idea really. I suspect Fisher would go outside but look for someone to learn the current system and run it.

Kyle Oldham (Springfield, MO)

Seeing you brought up Cowher....Bill Cowher's .623 regular season winning percentage is obviously amazing seeing as he coached for 15 years in the .500 league. Also, making the playoffs 10 times, 6 AFC Championship games, and 2 Superbowl appearances. Fisher's career isn't in the same stratosphere as Cowher's.

Paul Kuharsky
  (1:04 PM)

I agree. But the Fisher complaint is largely about no Super Bowl win. And on that subject and the comparable longevity, it's a reasonable comparison.

Neurotic Indy Fan (On the Ledge)

Please, Paul, offer me an empty assurance that Gonzo's being placed on IR does NOT signify the end of our Super Bowl hopes!

Paul Kuharsky
  (1:04 PM)

You thought Gonzalez was the key to the Super Bowl run? Because of the giant contribution he's made to 14-0?

Matt (IN)

Paul, I don't know if you're about to wrap up or not but I just wanted to wish you and all chatters a happy holiday. You do a great job covering the division and I hope the Colts bring it home this year so you can rub it in Grahams face. Everyone stay safe this holiday season!

Paul Kuharsky
  (1:05 PM)

A Colts Super Bowl give me nothing over Graham except a work week in Miami.

Paul Kuharsky
  (1:06 PM)

Thanks Matt for the kind words. To all of you, I can't say enough how much I appreciate you reading, chatting, following on Facebook and/or Twitter, perhaps tuning in to hear me on the radio or on ESPNews. I am most appreciative and wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas or break. Cheers....
