Chat with Dan Rafael

Dan Rafael
  (10:42 PM)

Greetings Fight Freaks and welcome to our late-night RAD chat. We'll start rolling as soon as this Valero-DeMarco fight is over. Hope you are enjoying it.

Dan Rafael
  (10:54 PM)

So, how about that butt whupping Valero just dished out?

Bradley D. Edwards (Richmond, Virginia)

Open scoring Danimal. Another example of it being horrible. Abregu is winning. They annouce the round 8 scores and he just kills the clock.

Dan Rafael
  (10:55 PM)

I agree, I despise it.

Christopher (Kalamazoo, MI)

What was your thoughts on the one-punch body shot KO by Rigondeaux last night? Can you think of somoene who's landed such a huge single shot to the body?

Dan Rafael
  (10:56 PM)

Sensational. He's just so poised and calm and can bang with both hands. His opponent was nothing much, but it was the way he disposed of him that was impressive.

Jared (Harrisburg)

I am booked and everything for Mayweather-Mosley in May...I am moving up my finals a week earlier so I can go. Might not be all out freak status but do I get any props? You are the man Dan

Dan Rafael
  (10:57 PM)

Not bad, Freak.

MC (USA)

Do you think if Pacquiao and Margarito both win their fights that Arum will try to pair them together next? Hope not!

Dan Rafael
  (10:57 PM)

Maybe eventually, but certainly not right away. That would be a bit surprising.

Walter (LA, CA)

When did that rule of a point deduction for an accidental from the WBC get made? And what do you think about that rule?

Dan Rafael
  (10:58 PM)

It's been on the books for many years and, like most WBC nonsense, I despise it.

wes (miami)

Impressed with valero tonight, never seen him live. With his amount of knockouts though, im a little underwhelmed with his power at this point. None of his punches seem to be seriously hurting Demarco.

Dan Rafael
  (10:59 PM)

Valero is good but he has so many flaws, but DeMarco could not take advantage. DeMarco fought a poor fight in my opinion. He didn't use his height. He started soooo slow. He took too many shots. But Valero walked him down all night and took it to him. Gotta give Valero credit for doing what he did, especially with that terrible gash from the elbow.

Randy (Cary NC)

Dan, What do you think of Valero?

Dan Rafael
  (11:00 PM)

Fun to watch, but I've never all that impressed.

Pat (Boston)

I think it's safe to say DeMarco can take a punch.

Dan Rafael
  (11:00 PM)

Definitely he can.

Chris (Dayton, OH)

Hi Dan - there's gotta be a way to re-direct Gus Johnson to another sport! Sheesh - nonsense all the way through the Abragu fight, then his comment enterning the 7th... "a couple of 147 lb Welterweights fighting"...isn't that just a bit redundant..?

Dan Rafael
  (11:00 PM)

It's a little bit redundant slightly.

carlos (Staten Island, NY)

when do they expect james kirkland to fight again? i think kirkland vs angulo would be a great action fight i pick kirkland by k.o. in 7 what do you think?

Dan Rafael
  (11:01 PM)

Could be back by August.

O (Australia)

this may be wayy far off...but hypothetically speaking....gamboa vs valero.....what do u think of that fight??

Dan Rafael
  (11:01 PM)

Don't see it happening. Gamboa moved down to 126, Valero moved up to 135 and probably will be at 140 before too long.

Christopher (Kalamazoo, MI)

Dan, we had soime nice KO's last night. Rigondeaux, Freddy Hernandez, Cotreras and Paredes all had pretty nice KO's. Do you like any as the early leader for KO of the year?

Dan Rafael
  (11:02 PM)

Nice KOs, yes, but I don't think any will hold up as KO of the year. As nice as the Paredes KO was it wasn't THAT good.

Sean (Richmond, VA)

Do you think we will see some unification business at 135 after Valero's performance?

Dan Rafael
  (11:03 PM)

I doubt it because Marquez is about to vacate, which would give Katsidis a belt since he's an interim titlist, and I don't see Valero-Katsidis right now (although what a great fight). Paulus Moses is obscure. Another belt is vacant.

cesar (chicago)

what did you think of Gus Johnson's response to Bernstein when they compared Paquioa to Mayweather? Gus said that Floyd is undefeated which means what exactly?

Dan Rafael
  (11:04 PM)

It means Gus needs to study Mayweather's record.

Rob (Atlanta)

What's the snow total? I slightly miss Virginia after watching the news

Dan Rafael
  (11:04 PM)

27 inches here in Northern Virginia and we're not going anywhere for a couple of days since that's how long it's going to take the county to plow our neighborhood. But we stocked up and have a few movies.

fernando (Providence RI)

so what do you think is next for edwin valero? i was impressed with his tko over demarco

Dan Rafael
  (11:05 PM)

I think as long as he can't fight in the US, we're not going to see any really big fights for him until that situation is worked out. I would imagine we'll see him on a Top Rank Latin Fury card in Mexico at some point later in the year.

Robert the Genius (Greater Philly / Southern NJ)

Who would you like to see Valero fight next?

Dan Rafael
  (11:06 PM)

There are some good fights at lightweight. I'd love to see him face the winner of Katsidis-Guerrero.

Aaron (Hartford)

Dan.....sat here and watched the Valero fight with my pregnant wife who knows nothing about boxing and she says to me "That little guy with the flag tattoo on his chest reminds me of that Pac-Man guy"

Dan Rafael
  (11:07 PM)

Except he's way slower and not nearly as technically sound.

Joe (Boston)

Masterful performance from Valero. Maybe you'll start to give him the credit he deserves now?

Dan Rafael
  (11:08 PM)

When have I not given him credit? He had never really proven anything until night. Jeez.

Chris (Dayton, OH)

Wow - DeMarco quit.... your thoughts?

Dan Rafael
  (11:08 PM)

He was getting abused and his corner did the right thing. I thought they could have stopped it a round sooner.

Robert the Genius (Greater Philly / Southern NJ)

I would like to see Valero vs Juan Diaz, they can fight in Houston, TX, I can see them throwing down!

Dan Rafael
  (11:09 PM)

Good fight but Diaz would get drilled. Has nothing to keep Valero off him and I think Juan is a little on the downside of his career.

Mark (Brooksville, Fla.)

Dan, hope the power didn't go out on you with the crappy weather!

Dan Rafael
  (11:10 PM)

Thankfully, it didn't. A few flickers last night but all is good. Even the cable stood up.

Pat (Boston)

It's a good day to sell shovels in VA.

Dan Rafael
  (11:10 PM)

Not really. Nobody can get to the stores. The roads are inpassable.

Rob (Atlanta)

Do you think the cut on Valero stops the fight if it's in the US? The ref looked surprised.

Dan Rafael
  (11:10 PM)

In most places I think it gets called off.

Jesse (El Mirage, AZ)

When will Valero be able to fight in the U.S.?

Dan Rafael
  (11:11 PM)

He's licensed in Texas. However, he can't get into the US because he can not get a visa at this point due a drunk driving charge in Las Vegas.

Sean (Richmond, VA)

How's this Scenario, Hopkins Beats Jones, Haye beats Ruiz, Hopkins Fights and Beats Haye, Hopkins Defends against Adamek? Kinda leaves the Klitchko's SOL but could happen this way, No?

Dan Rafael
  (11:11 PM)

Possible, but probably unlikely to work out like that.

Dan Rafael
  (11:12 PM)

By the way -- Adamek won a unanimous decision over Estrada tonight in case any Freaks care.

Bradley D. Edwards (Richmond, Virginia)

Valero vs. Katsidis. Thats a fight I'd love to see. Both guys bleed. Both would be trying to beat the other into submission.

Robert the Genius (Greater Philly / Southern NJ)

Do you put Valero above Funeka in 135 bls rankings?

Dan Rafael
  (11:13 PM)

Yes, I will most likely bump Valero up one spot ahead Funeka.

Steven (Rialto)

Dan what do you think about a Soto VS. Valero Fight?

Dan Rafael
  (11:14 PM)

Also an excellent fight. And Soto is pals with DeMarco, was in his corner before the fight holding up his belt. Could be made too since they are both with Top Rank and Beltran.

Pete (Australia)

I'm pissed off that bika didn't fight green...he could've won that fight and i would've been excited to watch bika brawl against froch.

Dan Rafael
  (11:14 PM)

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Bika's loss.

Brad (Nashville)

Valero might want to get a better conditioning coach....his mouth was open from the first round on

Dan Rafael
  (11:14 PM)

You're right.

Charles (DFW)

Do you see any conceivable way that Jones could make his fight with Hopkins a lot closer if he doesn't let himself get trapped against the ropes and moves and uses his jab. He's still got the speed, even at 41.

Dan Rafael
  (11:15 PM)

At this point, I see BHop as the huge favorite. But you just never know.

Bryant (Pitt)

Valero/Katsidis would be all out fireworks

Aaron (MI)

I think Valero is going to be a huge star in the US. He is non-stop action the entire fight. Not many fighters would have continued with that gash.. This was a huge win against DeMarco.

Dan Rafael
  (11:16 PM)

He's not going to be a huge star if he can't fight here.

Christopher (Kalamazoo, MI)

Sean, in Richmond, with the problems that Hopkins always seems to have negotiating fights, he would be 50 before all those fights could happen.

Braindamaged2too (the Asylum)

D-Man,Adamek won a UD tonight over Estrada. Does that mean Areolla is definately next?

Dan Rafael
  (11:17 PM)

That is the plan, although I do not think the deal is 100 percent done yet, but that is the plan. April 24 on HBO along with Angulo vs. Love Child (Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the Love Child).

fernando (Providence RI)

freak or what? im going to see devon alexander fight march 6th and stay on the phone with my brother as he watches the super 6 dirrel-abraham lol

Dan Rafael
  (11:17 PM)

Nice. Come over and let me know what's going on because I will also be at Alexander-Urango.

Aaron (MI)

Saw Lou Dibela in the fight 360 preview. Was that you he was talking to on the phone about going to the hospital to see Taylor??

Dan Rafael
  (11:18 PM)

It very well could have been actually. I did speak to him several times that night.

Eric (Columbus, OH)

Between that crazy gash on his forehead and that crazy expression he always seems to wear, Valero spent rounds 2-5 looking like someone who woke up on the table in the middle of brain surgery. Good performance tonight.

Brandon (Delaware)

Celestino Caballero whos next and what network?

Dan Rafael
  (11:19 PM)

TBA and TBA.

Patrick (Pittsburgh)

Dan, What do you make of Adamek getting a decision and not a KO against Estrada? Does Estrada have a good chin? Or does Adamek's power not translate at heavyweight?

Dan Rafael
  (11:20 PM)

I always thought if Adamek won, it would be by decision. Estrada has a great chin. Never been down as a pro or an amateur and he was a great amateur. So I am not surprised Adamek didn't get a knockout.

Luis (Los Angeles)

Hey Dan are you excited that Kelly Pavlik is finally going to defend his title after 2 and half years?

Dan Rafael
  (11:20 PM)

Dude look at his record. He defended it in December you dope.

chuzen (st. louis)

dan buy or sell: rigondeaux fights for a title before the year ends

Dan Rafael
  (11:21 PM)

I'll say buy. I think it's entirely possible.

Chris (NJ)

Where do we see Paulie Malignaggi next?

Dan Rafael
  (11:22 PM)

He's been mentioned for several fights. The most serious are Amir Khan or Andre Berto. So we'll see.

Rob (Denton, Tx)

Is there any chance that Chad Dawson would ever move up to HW? Adamek has done it and to me Dawson has a better body to put on weight than Adamek. If the Klitschko brothers ever left he would have a chance.

Dan Rafael
  (11:23 PM)

Yes, Dawson could someday be a heavyweight. His team has said that as well. He has the height and the frame to handle the weight.

Darren (Dallas,Tx)

Dan, Do you have any info when the Sam Peter Tickets for March 12 here in Grapevine will go on sale and the price points yet?

Dan Rafael
  (11:23 PM)

No idea. Call Top Rank.

Paul B (NY, NY)

What were your impressions of The Road Warrior's performance?

Dan Rafael
  (11:24 PM)

I thought Glen Johnson was masterful last night. He fought a terrific fight and beat Mack down for a nice victory. How can you not respect Glen Johnson?

Dan Rafael
  (11:24 PM)

The Top Rank Live main event just ended and Brandon Rios just beat Jore Teron by a knockout.

Chris (Los Angeles (CA))

D$ - Given the fact that Kahn's camp doesn't want him in with anyone that can punch, I'd say Malignaggi makes perfect sense.

Dan Rafael
  (11:25 PM)

You're right. If that fight was in New York, where it should be, it would be an outstanding promotion.

Stryder (Reno, NV)

Dan, what did you think of Brinkley's performance last week? I watched that fight live and loved it! Do you think it is unfair for him not to get his shot at Bute?

Dan Rafael
  (11:28 PM)

We discussed this in Friday's chat. Brinkley did a great job in the fight and much respect to him for the dominant win. HOWEVER, I do not have any problem whatsoever with him not getting Bute next. First off, Brinkely is NOT mandatory. That fight with Stevens was for the IBF's No. 2 spot. Bute made a mandatory against Andre a few months ago and he is in an optional stage, which means he gets to pick who he wants to fight. If he wants to fight Miranda, I'm fine with that and like the fight considering who is available. I also don't think Brinkley coming back so quick in mid-April after that tough fight is realistic. And, finally, he beat Stevens. It's not like he beat a legit contender. So relax.

Stan (New Jersey)

Dan, Wondering if you've got any clues as to where the proposed Adamek v Arreola, Angulo v LC might take place? Lokked like another good crowd in Newark even with the weather

Dan Rafael
  (11:29 PM)

The April 24 card is going to take place in Ontario, Calif. Newark had no snow, and they had a huge crowd. Good for Main Events for promoting a card like that and drawing so many people they had to open more seats in the arena at the last minute.

Aaron (MI)

Is Valero officially signed as a Showtime fighter or will HBO be ringing his phone off the hook tonight??

Dan Rafael
  (11:29 PM)

No, he is not signed with a network at all.

Jeff (LA)

I saw an old HBO interview of Lennox Lewis before he fought Vitali in 2003. He was actually talking about a possible Roy Jones fight. Was that really a possiblility or was Lennox running out of opponents.

Dan Rafael
  (11:30 PM)

Roy was talking about it and Lennox was open to it. I never thought it would happen though and if it did, Lennox would have knocked Roy completely stiff. Complete mismatch.

chuzen (st. louis)

isnt valero a top rank guy? why wasnt he in mexico? gary shaw was down there

Dan Rafael
  (11:31 PM)

It was Gary's card. Valero is with Top Rank and Fernando Beltran. He was there as was Carl Moretti from Top Rank. Shaw promotes DeMarco.

jon (jersey city, nj)

I was disappointed with the choice of Allen Green to fill in for J. Tayor in the Super Six... what about you? I would have loved to have seen Bute or Paul Williams....

Dan Rafael
  (11:31 PM)

Bute was not invited, nor was Williams, who wouldn't have joined even if he was invited. Based on who was available, Green was a reasonable choice.

Banishment ((still not fed))

I think any question about Jesse Brinkley now also falls into the "is Tyson the greatest HW of all time". FEED ME

Brandon (Delaware)

klitschko-chambers who you like

Dan Rafael
  (11:32 PM)

Klitschko, of course.

Tom E (Jersey City, NJ)

If you're seriously coming to this chat to argue in favor of a Bute-Brinkley fight, you should have your Freak Status suspended immediately. Embarrassing.

Jeff (LA)

In retrospect Lewis-Jones would have been a mismatch, but at the time it wouldn't have been at all.

Dan Rafael
  (11:33 PM)

I don't agree at all. I covered the discussions of that fight and remember thinking it was absurd back then. And I never think Roy would have actually gone through with it.

Charles (DFW)

Weren't Jones and Holyfield talking about a fight and wasn't it more serious?

Dan Rafael
  (11:34 PM)

That was also discussed and was all but done until issues cropped up.

Ernesto (Minneapolis)

What is Valero's ceiling? Reached his potential or can he still develop enough to be a top 5 p4p fighter?

Dan Rafael
  (11:35 PM)

I believe he is what he is. A really good fighter, who is fun to watch. But I do not see him as a p4p guy.

Craig (Springfield, IL)

What is up with Cory Spinks? I love his ring entrance. When he fought Zab in St. Louis and entered with Nelly, I thought that was the best ring entrance ever.

Dan Rafael
  (11:36 PM)

Spinks' trainer, Kevin Cunningham, quit because he was 195 pounds or so a month ago and was supposed to defend a 154-pound title in early March. The fight has been put off because he's in no shape.

Tomas (Tx)

Hey Dantastic. Guillermo Rigondeaux's body shot KO was sweet. After watching it, I was recalling some other sweet body shot KO's and my favorite has to be Gatti's massive left hook to the gut of Leonard Dorin. Pretty much put him in retirement. You got a favorite?

Dan Rafael
  (11:37 PM)

Roy Jones knocking out Virgil Hill with maybe the best body shot ever. I also love the body shot that Cotto destroyed Quintana with.

jon (jersey city, nj)

If Mosley wins against Floyd, do we get a match with Pacman? Or do we have to do a mandatory rematch with Floyd?

Dan Rafael
  (11:38 PM)

Remains to be seen. You never know even if there are rematch clauses in contracts.

Jeremy (Boston)

What's next for Estrada? Is he becoming an opponent for top fighters? Dissaspointing with all the talent he possesses from his amateur days.

Dan Rafael
  (11:39 PM)

Estrada has been a massive disappointment as a pro. He made a fool of himself with his comments after he lost at the Olympics and he has never done anything in the pros. And he's usually agony to watch and has zero pop.

Robert the Genius (Greater Philly / Southern NJ)

We know the batphone has the numbers of big time American promoters but do you have the numbers to the big euro promoters, sutherlands and frank warren, ect.?

Dan Rafael
  (11:40 PM)

Of course, but I have no idea who Sutherlands is.

Charles (DFW)

Why not have Cory Spinks fight Ricky Hatton? Don't they weigh about the same right now?

David (Pittsburgh)

Dan, never seen Valero before tonight and surprised you aren't a little higher on his potential. You mentioned a tad slow and not technically sound enough, and I realize that is a lot, but is there anything else that you think is holding him back. Or is DeMarco just not that good, because he got his butt kicked?

Dan Rafael
  (11:41 PM)

I have seen many, many Valero fights so I know what he can do. I enjoy watching him.

Stan (New Jersey)

Dan, I know you've hinted at it in the past, but if Bute and Pavlik both win what are the chances we see them face off shortly after?

Dan Rafael
  (11:41 PM)

There's no hint. If they both win, they could fight each other later in the year. It's been discussed and it's a fight HBO would like to do.

Neal (Atlanta)

Dan who's next for Timothy Bradley? Have you heard anything?

Dan Rafael
  (11:43 PM)

Gary Shaw is looking for a fight for him. I know they're willing to face just about anyone, but they are having trouble finding a top opponent to fight him.

Luke (Los Angeles)

Any word yet if Hozumi Hasegawa is staying at 118 or moving up? How do you think he does against the top men at featherweight?

Dan Rafael
  (11:43 PM)

He has not made an announcement as far as I know.

mike (houston)

Will fernando guerreros next fight be on espn2 and do you know if he will have the same opponent

Dan Rafael
  (11:44 PM)

He pulled out of the fight in a couple of weeks because of a finger injury in his last fight. He'll be back around April.

Nick (New York)

Any chance that Bradley-Judah could happen?

Dan Rafael
  (11:45 PM)

There's always a chance. I think that is actually an interesting fight, especially since Judah wants to return to the 140 division and he's got a good name.

Mike (Chicago)

Speaking of Bute and Body Shots, the body shot that Koed Andrade was pretty sick.

Dan Rafael
  (11:46 PM)

As Larry David would say, "Prety, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, good."

Joe (Boston)

LOL Dan. All you do is slag off on Valero which is unfortunate because he may just be the best 135 pounder in the world right now. Is there anyone besides JMM that, right now, you would favor to beat Valero?

Dan Rafael
  (11:46 PM)

I'm giving an opinion I was asked for you. If you don't agree, cool. I just don't think he's as good as some people do. So freakin' sue me.

Marcus (Houston)

why are the brothers Klitchko ducking Haye

Dan Rafael
  (11:47 PM)

You're so banned it's not even funny.

jon (jersey city, nj)

why is morales coming back after losing 5 of 6?

Dan Rafael
  (11:48 PM)

Ask him.

Bryant (Pitt)

Danomite what's up next for Kermit Cintron?

Dan Rafael
  (11:48 PM)

Very good chance he will face Paul Williams on May 8 on HBO.

Robert the Genius (Greater Philly / Southern NJ)

Joe (Boston) did you not read where Dan said Valero will now be Ranked #2, why do you keep saying he doesnt give Valero props?

Luke (Los Angeles)

What is Top Rank doing with Anthony Peterson? He should be fighting more, yes?

Dan Rafael
  (11:49 PM)

They are doing nothing with him, that's what. It's ridiculous. They sign him and even though he's healthy now, he isn't scheduled. If you ask me, they ought to make Peterson against Humberto Soto at 135 and give the winner a shot at Valero.

Joe (Boston)

Alright alright I'll lay off Dan, sorry. (But the dude IS sick.)

Dan Rafael
  (11:50 PM)

If you love Valero great. You don't quite understand the difference between liking to watch a guy (which I do when it comes to Valero) and thinking he's a great fighter or a future great fighter (which I don't).

Pat (Boston)

Just say the word Dan and I'll disconnect Joe's cable.

Dan Rafael
  (11:50 PM)

Do it.

Erik (Atlanta, Ga)

People Dan Rafael is here to answer question that YOU ask him! So just because he gives an opinion that isn't what you believe doesn't make him a bad person HE'S GIVING YOU WHAT YOU ASKED FOR!

Mike (Brooklyn)

How high are you on Devon Alexander? I'm excited to see him against Urango...can't believe Alexander hasnt fought since August!

Dan Rafael
  (11:52 PM)

I think Devon is a huge talent and has been completely and utterly mis-promoted by Don King, if you can even call what he's done promoting. It's a shame. But the kid is young and now he has a unification fight. I think Devon has Mayweather-type potential.

giuseppe (bucks)

Hi dan, looking at the 140 rankings, I think Valero would beat both your #2 and #3 140 pound fighters. That's not bad at all. What do you think about Valero-Khan and Valero-Hatton?

Dan Rafael
  (11:52 PM)

Would be interesting fights for sure. Don't see either happening because it's too much risk, too little reward for Hatton and Khan.

Kory (Missouri)

What about Marquez-Bradley? Not big enough fight for Marquez?

Dan Rafael
  (11:54 PM)

Bradley is in a tough spot -- he's really good and he brings no money to the table because he has no real fan base. It's too bad, but why would Marquez ask for that fight when he can fight Khan, for example, and make a lot more money for a more winnable fight?

Jonathan (Los Angeles)

How is Cotto- Foreman looking? Is that set in stone yet? If so, who do you think wins?

Dan Rafael
  (11:55 PM)

Not done yet, but it will get done. I spoke to Arum about it on Thursday and he said it's going to get done and I believe him because both fighters want the fight.

Drew (Akron)

I like ESPN's light heavyweight tournament that's going on (even if they don't know that they are doing it). Johnson-Cloud has a good chance at being on ESPN right?

Dan Rafael
  (11:56 PM)

Correct, although unlileky for March 26, which was the date for Cloud's fight.

Leo (Charlotte)

How is the situation with Margacheato going? Do you think he will be cleared to fight again?

Dan Rafael
  (11:56 PM)

Nothing new but, yes, I think he'll be cleared.

Bo (NYC)

Dan, you also have to give Valero props for the way he handled the cuts. He could have totally folded, but he seemed fairly unphased.

Dan Rafael
  (11:57 PM)

I believe I did earlier in the chat. Pay attention or risk my wrath.

Steven (Waco, TX)

Too little reward for Hatton if he fights Valero? What are Hatton's options if JMM doesn't come off? Hatton's a spent force and his American audience is losing interest. There aren't too many fights left for him that can spark a real interest.

Dan Rafael
  (11:57 PM)

Hatton can fight a terd in England and make a ton of money. Don't worry about him.

Charles (DFW)

Devon has Mayweather potential? By that you mean he'll start picking on the featherweights?

Dan Rafael
  (11:58 PM)

I mean in the talent department. Devon actually wants to fight the best and not wait five years to do it.

Leo (Charlotte)

Any word on what's up next for Juan Manuel Lopez?

Dan Rafael
  (11:59 PM)

Nothing 100 percent, but could be a defense in Puerto Rico in the spring on HBO with Gamboa fighting the same night on the telecast from Miami.

Brendan (Philadelphia)

Dan, has cabin fever set in yet?

Dan Rafael
  (12:00 AM)

Not yet, but probably tomorrow. We haven't really been able to leave the house since Friday morning.

Christopher (Kalamazoo, MI)

Boy that cut on Valero's head ranks up there with Vitali's eye and Lujan's ear. Just nasty.

Dan Rafael
  (12:01 AM)

It was bad but not as bad as those two examples. And I will also toss in the gigantic lump on Rahman's head during the fight with Holyfield.

Steven (Rialto)

How in the hell is Cotto getting a title shot, other than business, when he was completely demolished in his last fight?

Dan Rafael
  (12:02 AM)

"Other than business"

Chris (NJ)

When Pavlik/Martinez is made official, good chance it will be in Atlantic City? How do you see that one going?

Dan Rafael
  (12:02 AM)

If it is finalized, it will be in AC. Good fight.

Stalker (Everywhere)

Ill do dig you out buddy. Just give me the exact address......

Dan Rafael
  (12:02 AM)

Nah, we'll be OK. Thanks though.

Craig (Springfield)

How do you convince your wife to let you stay up late hanging out with friends?

Dan Rafael
  (12:03 AM)

She is upstairs asleep and she loves the Freaks.

Jeremy (Boston)

Why Gamboa fighting in Germany?

Dan Rafael
  (12:04 AM)

His co-promoter is Arena Box, which is based there and it has a new TV deal in Germany and wants a world title bout on its first show on March 27, so Gamboa is going to fight there. He fought several of his early bouts there after he defected, so he is comfortable there. He'll fight there in March and then come back to the US in the spring.

George (Hollywood, FL)

Pretty good card by Showtime? I have both HBO and Showtime for the first time. Do you ever see Showtime taking over as top network?

Dan Rafael
  (12:05 AM)

No and it's not a matter of quality of fights. It's that Showtime is in about half the number of homes as HBO and has probably half or less the budget of HBO.

Darren (Dallas,Tx)

Ha Ha my Wife and baby are asleep also, its just me and "Appetite For Destruction" and my R.A.D chat.

Dan Rafael
  (12:06 AM)

Good man. My wife and cats are asleep and just me, some 80s KISS and a little RAD.

Martin (New Jersey)

Dan would HBO be involved in a Cotto-Foreman PPV?

Dan Rafael
  (12:11 AM)

HBO and Top Rank are discussing it. HBO made an offer to do the fight live on HBO but it may not be enough for Arum to cover the two fighters. It probably will go to PPV and HBO may distribute the bout. It has not been determined yet.

Andy (Cleveland, OH)

Love him or hate him, Gary Shaw will put his fighters in tough which is more than I can say for some other promoters.

Dan Rafael
  (12:11 AM)

I agree and I have told Gary that. He lets his guys fight.

bill (carmel, ny)

dan, they are coming out with TVs that level the sound for those obnoxious loud commercials. do you think they will also work for GUS JOHNSON?

Dan Rafael
  (12:12 AM)

As my good man Norman Chad would say: Pay the man, Shirley.

mike (PA)

does adameka move into your heavywieght rankings now

Dan Rafael
  (12:14 AM)

I think at this point, with two decent wins in a row at the weight, activity and his cruiserweight resume, it's time to move him in and drop him from the cruiserweight division, especially since his next fight will also be at heavyweight. He ain't going back to cruiserweight.

Joe (Boston)

I may be a little over excited in the moment, but it seems to me Johnson-Mack was just the type of fight we see on the honorable mention for FOTY in december. Obviously it is very early, but it was a great fight.

Dan Rafael
  (12:15 AM)

You are drunk I think. It was a nice fight that was fairly onesided. Not much drama and a great performance from Glen. It is not even remotely an FOY candidate. Go take a cold shower my man.

Charles (DFW)

Can you see Glen Johnson and Tarver doing a rubber match at some point? Not really much else for Tarver left to do.

Dan Rafael
  (12:16 AM)

I guess if Glen wins a title it wouldn't be entirely out of the realm of possibility. Their two fights were excellent.

Bryant (Pitt)

Dan I'm doing the chat on iPhone freak or nerd?

Dan Rafael
  (12:16 AM)

Freaky nerd?

Stan (New Jersey)

I hate to jump on the band wagon but my wife asked if HBO had a fight on because she said "that guy Gus is annoying"

bill (carmel, ny)

joe from boston's excitement must be somehow chemically induced. johnson/mack was not even fight of the week.

Dan Rafael
  (12:17 AM)

LOL! You're right.

Leo (Charlotte)

what's up next for Chad Dawson?

Dan Rafael
  (12:17 AM)

Looks like June against Jean Pascal.

Todd (Queen City)

Any truth to the rumor of Quintana-Martirosyan? I see that as a pick-em fight. Your thoughts?

Dan Rafael
  (12:18 AM)

It's not a rumor. It's a fight that has been discussed. I know the Martirosyan camp would take it.

Sean (Richmond, VA)

Didn't that Paredes KO set the bar pretty high for KO of the year?

Dan Rafael
  (12:19 AM)

Not really. It was a good KO, not a great KO.

Nick (Boston, MA)

If you had to put a percdentage on Pavlik vs Sergio getting done, what would it be?

Dan Rafael
  (12:22 AM)

95%.

Sean (Richmond, VA)

Ever thought about doing a Fight of The Month, KO of the month, Round of the month running tally?

Dan Rafael
  (12:23 AM)

No.

Mike (Alabama)

How bout Saul Alvarez against Erik Morales?

Dan Rafael
  (12:24 AM)

What do you have against Morales?

Scott (Bloomington, MN)

Hey Dan, your take on 24/7 Nascar was right on. I'm not a fan either but it was fun to watch.

Dan Rafael
  (12:24 AM)

Yup. I watched the second episode today on my DVR. I'm digging it.

Leo (Charlotte)

why not Morales vs. Barrera 4 lol.

Dan Rafael
  (12:25 AM)

You know what? I wouldn't entirely count that out. You never know. They can make money with that fight and I will tell you one thing -- I will watch it for sure.

Brian (scottsdale, az)

any word on when prospect jose benvenides is fighting again?

Dan Rafael
  (12:26 AM)

He fights next week on the Top Rank PPV undercard, although not sure if his fight makes it on television.

Alan (Cincinnati)

After robbing Ouma, wouldn't Martirosyan get schooled by Quintana?

Dan Rafael
  (12:26 AM)

A) It wasn't a robbery. It was a close fight that went Martirosyan's way.B) No.

Jeff (Las Vegas)

Congrats on the award Dan.

Dan Rafael
  (12:28 AM)

And what award would that be? I didn't win Miss America the other night.

Josh (Richmond, VA)

Am I the only one that thinks that Glen Johnson is way too much for Tavoris Cloud at this point in his career?

Dan Rafael
  (12:29 AM)

It's hard to say because Cloud is still pretty untested. His two notable wins came against good fighters who had almost nothing left in Julio Gonzalez and Clinton Woods. Johnson isn't what he was at his best but he's still very good.

Silky (AL)

Thank you for that comment on Martirosyan being close, not an outrage. Now Shumenov, that's another story....

Dan Rafael
  (12:30 AM)

Totally another story.

Silky (AL)

Any backhanded comments on Tessitore winning Broadcaster of the Year?

Dan Rafael
  (12:30 AM)

Why would there be any backhanded comments? I was thrilled that Joe won. He deserves it. I voted for him.

Tim (Newmarket,N.H.)

Is there any word on who Vitali beats up on next?

Dan Rafael
  (12:32 AM)

They are trying to make a fight against Valuev for May.

Luke (Hoth)

When is the boxing media planning to begin the mass overrating of Clottey?

Dan Rafael
  (12:32 AM)

We have a meeting next week. We'll see how it goes you idiot.

Walter (LA, CA)

Is HBO going to put on Vitali-Valuev if that gets made?

Dan Rafael
  (12:34 AM)

The Klitschko folks are talking to HBO. I'd be disappointed if HBO didn't do the fight.

Walter (LA, CA)

So is that accidental foul point deduction going to be in all WBC title fights? Has it always been? I never noticed.

Dan Rafael
  (12:34 AM)

It has been the rule for many years.

Katie (Columbus, OH)

DTM, who's Pound For Pound list was Gus talking about when he said Valero was on it?

Dan Rafael
  (12:35 AM)

His own I would imagine because Valero doesn't make anyone else's.

Brendan (Philadelphia)

sounds like you won the award for being champion of jeff's heart.

Ian (Pembroke Pines,FL)

I think Valero makes Hugo Chavez's P4P list.

Dan Rafael
  (12:36 AM)

Pay the man, Shirley.

Josh (Richmond, VA)

More surprising? Valero undefeated, or Linares getting waxed inside of 1 round?

Dan Rafael
  (12:38 AM)

Definitely Linares getting drilled in one.

chris (oklahoma city, ok)

May as well banish Jeff from LA for being one of the most delusional chat participants I've ever seen

Autry (Chicago)

what weight class and what size gloves is the mayweather mosely fight gonna have?

Dan Rafael
  (12:39 AM)

147 pounds, 8-ounce gloves.

chris (oklahoma city, ok)

Dan, thanks for the RAD chat by the way... But speaking of Miranda, do you think he goes into Rocky Juarez territory after his fight with Bute? How many title shots is he gonna get without seeming like he has a realistic chance against the man he's fighting other than a punchers chance?

Dan Rafael
  (12:40 AM)

This is only the second title shot for Miranda. One was at 160 and he was robbed of a knockout against Abraham. This will be his second one. Do your homework.

Jeff H (Elk grove cali)

Valero is the second coming of popo freitas. Put him in with someone with a chin, decent defense and some pop and he will meltdown before the 10th. He can be hit flush. Look at what corrales did to popo. Bully the bully

Michael (Oakland)

D, What was up with those annoying Corona Girls trying to get discovered??? Goodness they were annoying. Except that one brunett.....she was hot.

Dan Rafael
  (12:41 AM)

I didn't mind looking at them at all. I'd like them to walk me into the media center at my next fight.

Brian (scottsdale, az)

this may be too soon, but any word on undercard match-ups for Mayweather/Mosley?

Dan Rafael
  (12:41 AM)

As I wrote in Friday's notebook, expect to see Danny Jacobs and Saul Alvarez in separate bouts at least.

Josh (Falls Church, VA)

Hey Dan, just to depress you a bit, we might get another 8-12 inches of snow Tuesday night.

Dan Rafael
  (12:42 AM)

I know. I'm ill.

Ian (Pembroke Pines, FL)

I don't know how one has the patience to answer such redundant questions such as "What weight class and size gloves will Mayweather-Mosley use?"

Dan Rafael
  (12:45 AM)

Welcome to my world.

Robert the Genius (Greater Philly / Southern NJ)

Michael (Oakland) should be banned for complaining about hot chicks in the ring after the fight!!!!!

Patrick (Pittsburgh)

I'd like those Corona girls to walk me anywhere.

Carlos (San Jose, Ca)

Dan, since covering the sport have you ever seen an instance where you believed that a promoter of a fighter threw that fighter to the wolves just to make a quick buck?

Dan Rafael
  (12:46 AM)

Absolutely.

mike (costa rica)

dan, any super bowl party plans with all that snow??

Dan Rafael
  (12:47 AM)

Our neighbor is having a Super Bowl party. We may sled across the cul de sac to get over there.

Kent (St Catharines)

Dan, speaking of the crappy weather. Have you missed a fight you were suppose to be at because of the weather?

Dan Rafael
  (12:47 AM)

Not that I can think of.

bill (carmel, ny)

the fact that we are talking about the Corona Girls now means that they did their job very well tonight.

Jordan (Ontario, Canada)

When's the last time you went to a small amateur card just watch the rookies fight?

Dan Rafael
  (12:48 AM)

It's been a while since I've seen amateurs fight in person. There have been some cards where amateurs and pros fight on the same show but it's been a long time.

Matt (Naperville, IL)

Since HBO isn't doing Foreman-Cotto, could it now pick up Wlad and Chambers?

Dan Rafael
  (12:48 AM)

Anything is possible but picking up Wlad or not has nothing to do with the other fight at all.

Todd (Queen City)

It says here that Alexander thoroughly outclasses Urango. Your thoughts?

Dan Rafael
  (12:49 AM)

I don't disagree. But Urango is a pressure guy with a good chin and some power.

pj (vacaville)

what is protocol for open scoring, when is it done? I've only seen in title fights in mexico...last time I saw it was a sam peter fight in mexico?

Dan Rafael
  (12:50 AM)

They also use it for WBC fights in Japan and in a few other places. It's only a WBC rule, but some places, like the US, do not approve of its use.

Bryant (Pitt)

Dan what weigh class is the deepest talent wise at the moment ?

Dan Rafael
  (12:52 AM)

Obviously, there is great talent at the top of welterweight and super middleweight but for younger guys I love junior welterweight.

Jake (Rockville, MD)

Any chance that B-Hop and Glen Johnson would ever meet? Seems ridiculous (a maybe due to no real demand for the fight) but aside from Bad Chad that seems like the best in the division.

Dan Rafael
  (12:54 AM)

Well BHop owns a TKO win against Glen (his first loss and still the only time he has been stopped). Glen would like a rematch but I just don't see it happening given that neither guy has many fights left and it really doesn't make financial sense for Bernard.

Charles (DFW)

How much of the Ring Magazine does Golden Boy own, and how much editorial control do they have. I don't want my favorite magazine becoming De La Hoya's personal mouthpiece.

Dan Rafael
  (12:54 AM)

They own it lock, stock and barrell. That said, they say they do not get involved in the editorial content, which I know they don't.

George (Hollywood, FL)

Are you going to be at Dallas Stadium to see Pac Man fight?

Dan Rafael
  (12:55 AM)

Of course.

Will (Kingston)

How can you honestly justify KISS a better band than ACDC??

Dan Rafael
  (12:56 AM)

I love 'em both, but love KISS more. For the purposes of raw numbers, go look at see who has sole more records and sold more concert tickets. It ain't even close.

Dan Rafael
  (12:56 AM)

First record I ever bought actually with my own money I saved up was AC/DC Back in Black.

Homer (OH)

Why no Valero on the bottom line on SportsCenter?

Dan Rafael
  (12:58 AM)

I am not a producer.

KB (Fredericksburg, VA)

I've heard for years people say Darius M could of beaten Roy. I've seen a couple of his fights but nothing that made me say yeah he could beat Roy. What do you think?

Dan Rafael
  (12:59 AM)

I always thought during the time the fight was talked up a lot, Roy would have wiped him out in a decision circa 2001 or 2002.

pj (vacaville)

what ever happened to D-hop?, B-hops nephew?

Dan Rafael
  (1:01 AM)

He was released by Top Rank and is now signed to TKO Boxing, although he has yet to fight for it.

Michael (Oakland)

Do you think Boxing will ever go back to 15 Round Championship fights?

Dan Rafael
  (1:01 AM)

Not gonna happen.

Todd (Queen City)

Dan, I love the proposed 4/24 BAD. Perro-Julio and (probably) Adamek-Arreola! I am stoked! Can your "son" get over the hump and win a major fight or will he relegated to fringe contender status?

Dan Rafael
  (1:02 AM)

It's an excellent show if it comes off as planned. Tough fight for the Love Child. But Julio is quick and can punch and Angulo ain't hard to find, so it should be a good fight. But if Julio starts backpeddling like he did against Kirkland, he's dead. Angulo will eat him up if he does that.

catwell (peoria IL)

i saw ur answer about body shot KO's earlier, best iv ever seen was hattons to castillo, he straight up wilted, whats your take?

Dan Rafael
  (1:03 AM)

That was also a great one. I was at the fight so I am surprised I didn't think of it.

Braindamaged2too (the Asylum)

D-Man, so you are a hardcore KISS fan, a little AC/DC, with a sprinkle of Madonna.......did you forget the Village People?

Dan Rafael
  (1:04 AM)

YMCA!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. ? (M)

Who the hell is Darius M?

Dan Rafael
  (1:04 AM)

He was talking about Dariusz Michalczewski.

J in FLA (Cocoa)

Did the Swamp Donkey fight for a title today in Europe?

Dan Rafael
  (1:05 AM)

No, he's supposed to fight Huck next month.

Stan (New Jersey)

Dan, I watched the Adamek v Estrada fight and liked what i saw from Adamek. Kinda one of those fights where its tough to look good against cause Estrada is slick and can take a punch.

Todd (Queen City)

Danno, it's 1 a.m. You da man!

Dan Rafael
  (1:06 AM)

The Freaks are still here askin, so I am still here chatting.

Kyle (DC)

DeMarco showed tremendous courage by standing in there against Valero...he also showed a tremendous lack of ambition by not pressing the fight enough...or even at all...

Dan Rafael
  (1:07 AM)

He probably would have been better off pressing the issue sooner. I agree.

Robert the Genius (Greater Philly / Southern NJ)

Do you ever hear rumors Sturms in talks with American promoters to make fights?

Dan Rafael
  (1:07 AM)

Sturm has talked with various American promoters, but hasn't made a deal and is tied up in problems with Universum.

Craig (Detroit)

DTM - do you anticipate the bat phone going off during this RAD?

Dan Rafael
  (1:08 AM)

It already has. Twice.

Rob (Denton, Tx)

Have you seen George Foreman III fight ? Any way he eventually has a chance to make some noise ?

Dan Rafael
  (1:09 AM)

I've seen some video. He is VERY, VERY raw. He started a litte late and had not amateur career, just worked in the gym. It is unlikely he will go all that far but he's got his father's bloodlines, so you never know.

Chris (Los Angeles (CA))

Has Jaidon Codrington retired?

Dan Rafael
  (1:10 AM)

My understanding is that, yes, he retired.

Dan (Westfield,MA)

Dan, do you think Valero showed just as much heart and will to be a champion as he did actual skill

Dan Rafael
  (1:11 AM)

You can't question his heart after seeing him like 10 rounds with that cut.

Leo (Charlotte)

Sturm vs. Abraham, biggest fight in Germany.

Dan Rafael
  (1:12 AM)

It's a really big fight in Germany but it hasn't happened yet and with Abraham in the Super Six it's a long way off if it ever did. It's lost its meaning quite a bit with Abraham in a new weight class and Sturm being so inactive.

sam (philly)

I remember when Codrington and Stevens were supposed to be the next big thing in boxing. Would you call the chin checkers a bust?

Dan Rafael
  (1:13 AM)

Huge bust. I was never too high on either of them, althoug I thought more of Codrington's skills. His problem was he couldn't take a shot. Stevens seems like he can take a good shot but his skills are not top notch.

Carp (South Vienna, Ohio)

What is your Super Bowl pick DTM?

Dan Rafael
  (1:13 AM)

I'm rolling with Indy.

Billy (NYC)

If Margarito is on the undercard for the Dallas fight, will you "boo" him when he comes out?

Dan Rafael
  (1:14 AM)

No cheering or booing in press row. I will keep my feelings to myself.

Bryant (Pitt)

Dtm good call on Johnson over Mack but how about the fashionhe pulled it out?

Dan Rafael
  (1:14 AM)

It didn't shock me because Mack's biggest issue is his chin and he couldn't take what Glen had. I was a little surprised that it happened as quick as it did. I thought if Glen got the KO it would have been later in the fight.

Isaac (New York)

Dan, do you see Abregu making any noise at 147? I think he has way too many flaws and would get drilled by any of the top welters. And yet he's ranked in the top 10 by the WBC and IBF.

Dan Rafael
  (1:15 AM)

He's exciting but if he steps up against a top guy, he's getting knocked out.

Mark (Brooksville, Fla.)

Dan, In reference to your comment regarding GFIII; "he started a little late and had not had amateur career," what fighter/fighters who've started late with no amateur exp. have done the best?

Dan Rafael
  (1:16 AM)

There are some. BHop started late and had very little amateur background and he became one of the greatest middleweights ever. Hasim Rahman had very little amateur background and started boxing in his 20s and won the heavyweight title. So it happens but not too often.

pj (vacaville)

Is Valuev a mandatory for vitali or just hand picked?

Dan Rafael
  (1:17 AM)

An optional fight and about the best available guy Vitali can fight.

Earn (CAL)

When was the last time you went to a fight strictly as a fan?

Dan Rafael
  (1:18 AM)

The first fight I ever went to in person was the first fight I ever covered. Now there are times I go to a fight card locally or a smaller show around a bigger fight that I am not covering but I am always sort of on the clock if you know what I mean. I can't just sit there and cheer.

ryan (philly)

thats sad for division if valuev is the best available guy, didnt he lose to holyfield? dan,are there any exciting hw prospects?

Dan Rafael
  (1:20 AM)

Do you have a better suggestion for Vitali who is actually available to fight him in May and a doable fight? I'm all ears daddio.

Z.B. (TX)

I'm drunk! I LOVE BOXING!!!!!!!!!

Charles (DFW)

As someone with a journalism degree (and who wants to cover boxing in the future), how much of your fight stories do you type beforehand, or do you write the whole thing at once when the fight is over?

Dan Rafael
  (1:23 AM)

I put down a few details that I may need for the story, like the record (to be updated), a few important details of the fight storyline and that sort of thing, but you can't write what you haven't seen yet. Many times I have joked with my man Tim Smith at ringside after the first round of a fight and said, "So, what should I write?" And he will always answer, "You gotta see what happens." And he is right. Of course, as the fight goes on I am typing notes and thinking about things and sometimes before a fight is over you have an idea given how a bout is going, but then sometimes crazy stuff happens and you need to change on the fly. It's not as easy as it looks, put it that way.

Mark (Brooksville, Fla.)

Dan,were you already collecting your dvd/tape fight collection prior to actually attending or covering a boxing match?

Dan Rafael
  (1:24 AM)

I was collecing fights before that but not as insanely as I began to afterward.

Leo (Charlotte)

Do you think Danny Green will now slip back into obscurity?

Dan Rafael
  (1:25 AM)

He's a big name in Australia and will remain that.

Jesse (El Mirage, AZ)

What do you think of Michael Wilbon statement of Floyd Mayweather vs. manny pacquiao being the last great boxing match ever?

Dan Rafael
  (1:26 AM)

Ever is a long time. No knock on Wilbon, one of the great sportswriters of our time, but he's wrong.

Omar (Los Angeles, CA)

Better physical clone: Salvador Sanchez's nephew, or Ricardo Lopez's son Alfonso "Finito" Lopez? It's almost frightening how much these 2 guys look like their boxing relatives.

Dan Rafael
  (1:27 AM)

It's crazy. But Lopez looks more like the old man and the way he boxes is the exact same thing.

Steve (Denver)

Dan, my roomates wont chip in and pay a little extra for Showtime...We have HBO but I just missed Valero fight and gonna miss Super Six and other big fights. Do I need new roomates?

Dan Rafael
  (1:28 AM)

Either that or more money.

Sara (Snowmageddon )

I asked like three questions and never got an answer. Do you not like ladies named Sara?

Dan Rafael
  (1:29 AM)

It's a lovely name actually and my sister's middle name.

Leo (Charlotte)

Is Yory Boy Campas still fighting?

Dan Rafael
  (1:30 AM)

If you call it that.

big country (norman ok)

tecate girls or corona girls?

Dan Rafael
  (1:31 AM)

Does it really matter?

Jay (NY,NY)

Paulie Malignaggi vs Zab Judah at MSG. How come thats never been talked about?

Dan Rafael
  (1:31 AM)

It actually has, just not lately.

Joe (Boston)

Dan where are you?

Dan Rafael
  (1:32 AM)

In my office.

Stan (Mississippi)

Do you think Showtime will try its Tourney in other divisions?

Dan Rafael
  (1:33 AM)

I think if the right division is there with the right talent and it's something interesting and makes financial sense why not?

Earn (CAL)

Is it me or does Golden Boy own the Junior Welter weight division

Dan Rafael
  (1:34 AM)

GB certainly has a lot of the top guys and big names with Hatton, Marquez, Ortiz, Maidana, Khan, Campbell.

Bill (Miami)

Calderon vs Viloria not happening. I'm guessing?

Dan Rafael
  (1:35 AM)

Good guess.

PJ (vacaville)

Has ther been any talk of Tim Bradley against Maidana, if he wins his next fight?

Dan Rafael
  (1:36 AM)

Bradley's promoter, Gary Shaw, inquired about the fight but Maidana is fighting Victor Cayo, another good up-and-comer in the division, instead.

Homer (OH)

Edwin Valero is a bad ass

Dan Rafael
  (1:36 AM)

Well said.

ed (alameda , ca)

If both Pacquiao and Mayweather both get an upset, Is the Mosely vs Clottely fight going to be bigger than the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight?

Dan Rafael
  (1:37 AM)

Ummmm, no.

Earn (CAL)

Where Would You rather attend a fight Cowboy Stadium or Playboy Mansion????

Dan Rafael
  (1:37 AM)

Wherever the better fight is.

Earn (CAL)

Sorry but im going to Mansion every time even if it means watching Yory fight.

big country (norman ok)

you cut off dan no beer for you ur slurring ur words

Dan Rafael
  (1:39 AM)

The only thing I drank during this chat was some bottled water bro.

PJ (vacaville)

So Gerry Penalosa is stil fighting, Is he still with Freddie Roach?

Dan Rafael
  (1:40 AM)

He fights next week on Top Rank's PPV, but I am not sure if Freddie is still working with him.

Ali MacDonald (Glasgow , Scotland)

It's 6.39 am here in Scotland and I am reading your chat , freak status ??????

Dan Rafael
  (1:42 AM)

I was thinking more like insomniac.

Omar (Los Angeles, CA)

Dan, if these chats keep going passed 1:40, Floyd's gonna start demanding random blood samples!

Earn (CAL)

Was Miguel Cotto's biggest mistake leaving behind Evangalista Cotto?

Dan Rafael
  (1:43 AM)

No, his biggest mistake was not making sure somebody from his team was in Margarito's dressing room watching the hand wraps.

chuzen (st. louis)

do you sleep

Dan Rafael
  (1:45 AM)

From time to time.

Dan Rafael
  (1:46 AM)

OK Freaks, thanks for the late night chat this week. Hope you enjoyed the fights and discussing them. Enjoy the rest of your weekend while we try to dig out of this monster snow storm that crushed us here in Virgnia. Be cool and talk to you on Friday. Peace.
