Chat with Roy Jones Jr.

Brandon Moore (Kelowna, BC, Canada)

Roy..being a baller, who is going to win the NCAA's?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:01 PM)

I'm going with the winner of the Duke/West Virginia game because of their experience.

Anthony (Temecula CA)

Roy, what's your prediction of the fight?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:02 PM)

I don't know yet. I know I'm going to beat him, I just don't know how yet. I know how to beat him because I've done it before.

Jerrell (Huntsville,alabama:)

What's up Roy? If you could fight any legend who would it be and why? Good luck saturday i'm pulling for you!

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:04 PM)

Thank you Jerrell. Sugar Ray Robinson, he's one of the best middleweight boxers of all-time. I would love to see how we would match up against each other.

David (Ventura, CA)

Roy are you going to train any different than you have in your previous fights.

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:04 PM)

Nope

Christian Cruz (Manila, Philippines)

You held the (P4P) title for quite a long time. Right now, who do you consider the best boxer, pound for pound and why?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:04 PM)

It would be between Floyd and Manny. They are both at the top of their game right now.

Boris Hope (Atlanta, GA)

I know this question been asked a thousand times, but coming from a great boxer like you, in your opinion, who do you think would win out of Mayweather and Mosley?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:05 PM)

I think Mayweather will out box Mosley. It will be a great fight.

dave (ireland)

hi roy.i'm a big fan.i hope you can answer my question?how are you gonna spend the extra cash from the 60/40 split that you earn when you knock hopkins out?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:06 PM)

(Laughing) I haven't thought about that yet. But you're right, I will be spending it because I am gonna get it.

joel (minnesota)

hey roy i've been a big fan for years i was just wondering do you think bernard will try to take you to war or be a more tactical fighter on saturday?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:07 PM)

I think he'll do both but it doesn't matter to me. We can do it however he wants to do it because he will still lose.

Nick Colin (Avalon, NJ)

Roy has your dad been training you for this upcoming fight? What has his role been this time around?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:08 PM)

About the same a usual. He comes in and tells me what he thinks and gives me his expert opinion. He's great at reading people. It's great having a guy like that in your corner you knows a lot and that you can trust.

Jonothan Ratcliffe (Williamsburg, MA)

Roy, after you easily beat top 10 pound for pound Bernard Hopkins, should you be considered a pound for pound fighter, because you spent half of your career at #1?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:09 PM)

Sure, but they probably won't put me back up there. There aren't many people that can do what I do or have done what I've done. They say I'm old and can't do it again but it's all good.

Reggie Culkin (El Paso)

What is your training like now being 40 then when you were first staring out? Do you feel stronger or do you work out more to get the same results?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:10 PM)

I work out less and smarter to get the same results.

Abel (Dallas)

First I would like to say I've grown up watching you and in my era your Ali to me. I still feel the tools are there for you to do great things. What do you think will be the key to victory over B-Hop?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:11 PM)

Just being smart. Taking my time and being patient.

Brad (Australia)

"Gday mate", all the best for the fight on Sat! We have a lot of faith in you down under. "When" you take care of BHOP on Sat, what's next for Roy Jones? Would seem like the perfect time to step away or do you have other things you want to achieve in the sport?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:11 PM)

I'm not sure yet, I have to see how I feel.

Kou-se (New York, NY 10022)

As much as I admire you as a legendary boxer, How can you and Hopkins make a worthwhile fight at this stage of your careers?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:12 PM)

Just tune in on April 3 and watch. We can show you better than we can tell you.

michael cook (memphis,Tn)

roy jones your my all time favorite fighter. but who is your all time favorite fighter. who did you want to fight like as a kid?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:14 PM)

Thank you. I have a long list. I used to watch them all but one of my favorites was Salvador Sanchez. He died at the age of 22 in a car crash.

JWDS (NYC)

Do you think BHOP has enough power to KO you?

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:14 PM)

He was enough power to KO anybody. He's a great puncher but it will NEVER happen.

Roy Jones Jr.
  (2:15 PM)

Thank you to all my fans for supporting me and sticking will me through all the years. Tune in Saturday night for a great fight against Hopkins.
