Chat with Kareem Jackson

  (2:04 PM)

Kareem is here!

Freddy (Atlanta)

What's been the most important part of your predraft preparation?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:05 PM)

It would probably have to be all of the training. Making sure I was doing all of the things right that would enable me to be successful at the combine. Get the proper training for the interviews. I've always been told that the first impressions are what people go off of you.

Jym (Florida)

What's it like during one of the team interviews? What are they asking you about? What do they want to know?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:06 PM)

Of course they ask you about your history. Where you grew up. Have you been in any trouble. Basically some of them just want to know about you, your life history. Your parents at home. Some of them just ask you about ball. It gets kind of personal in those interviews.

Jake (Muncie, IN)

Kareem, what is the most stressful part of the pre-draft process?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:07 PM)

It would just have to be going from Florida to Georgia to 'Bama. I was training in Florida, I'm from Georgia and I had to go to 'Bama for workouts. At the combine, it had to be the psychological testing.

Will (Deactur, Alabama)

Kareem, it was awesome seeing you play at Alabama! What was it like to where the Crimson jersey each and every Saturday and I hope you get drafted by the Cowboys haha!!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Kareem Jackson
  (2:08 PM)

Oh, man, you can only describe it in so many words. It's very exciting there. The history and tradition. You have to put that jersey with pride every Saturday. It was very exciting. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

paul (Boston)

How do you feel you've done on your team interviews?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:08 PM)

I think I did very well on my interviews. I've been getting some of the feedback from my agent. Some of the teams told me I did well. That's one of the things we worked on a lot during the training. I think I did well.

Chioke Hassan (Baltimore,Md)

Dear KareemWhat is a good team you would fit under in the pros?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:09 PM)

I think I would fit in anybody's defensive scheme. I can play zone, I can play man. I can play bump and run. I can play any scheme.

Frank (Dallas)

Were you nervous during the last drive of the Auburn vs Alabama game at the end of the season? It was a great game.

Kareem Jackson
  (2:10 PM)

I wouldn't really say nervous. By then, I had gotten over all of the nervousness. They had a week to prepare for us. You could expect that they were going to come out with their trick plays, which they did. I was confident that we were going to come out with a victory and we did.

Frank (Coram, NY)

What do you feel is the hardest aspect for the jump from college to the pros?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:11 PM)

I would have to say probably adjusting to the different surroundings. College life, you're on campus, walking around campus and your friends and teammates are there. That would be the biggest difference. Getting acquainted with my surroundings.

Chris (Huntington, WV)

Kareem, how would you feel about being reunited with Andre Smith, and playing with Leon, and Jonathan in Cincy?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:12 PM)

It would be fun. I played with them in college. I would have someone there who can show me the ropes and teach me the do's and don'ts. It would help me as far as comfort and I know that he would help me. That would be good.

Dave (Vegas)

How much are you training?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:13 PM)

I try to go at least twice a day. Once early and late at night, I might go do a bit of cardio. During the day, I might run some sprints, just to get back in football shape, so I'll be ready for football camp. Do some drills about twice a day.

Frank (Dallas)

Are you looking forward to playing as yourself on the Madden game next season?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:14 PM)

To be honest, I don't really play the PlayStation and XBox. I haven't owned a game system since the Sega system. I thought it was boring. I just watch the guys play. It will be exciting to see and see what my ratings are.

danny (san antonio, tx)

whats more stressful, working out at the combine or waiting so long after it to see where you get drafted?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:15 PM)

I would say the wait after the combine. You're excited, but your nervous and you don't know where you're going to end up. As a kid, it's a dream come true. Once the 22nd gets here and the draft starts, we'll find out where I'll end up at.

Jeff (FL)

any draft day plans?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:16 PM)

My plan is to just be with family. To be with the people that have supported me through the whole thing. I'm sure my parents have planned a little gathering, so I'll be with them.

everyone wants to know about the stress, what's been the best part?

Kareem Jackson
  (2:16 PM)

The best part is just the opportunity. Growing up as a kid, you want to be in this situation and finally it's here. I just want to enjoy it for me and my family. It's just good to be in this situation.

Kareem Jackson
  (2:17 PM)

I want to tell everybody thanks for the support. The fans in Alabama are crazy. I loved every bit of my time there. I thank my coaches for making me the player I am today and all of my friends and family for their love and support.
