Good afternoon everyone...let's get this partaaayyyy started!
Good afternoon all knowing,do you think Denny can send Alan back to the " nervouse hospital" holding one leg behind his back? Also, does JJ make Gordon so much money as an owner that JJ doesn't worry that Gordon is an owner of the 48??
I think Denny Hamlin is going to be very, very tough this weekend at Richmond...but I think he'll have to fight out with a number of other good cars...Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson and my dark-horse Jeff Burton.
As for the money angle...I really don't think Jeff and Jimmie have looked at each other as employer-employee in quite some time...I just think it eats JJ up he wants to win so bad..andthe problem is Gordon has the fire in the belly again and that's where the conflict is coming from.
i think this will be a hamlin race this weekend and maybe a weekend that kyle busch ends his streak and wins him one he likes this track. what do you think?
Daniel I think you're right on the money..if Busch or Hamlin don't have a problem they're up front from first to fifth at the worst.
good afternoon mark. listen greatjob last sundays chat about the rcr engins, and how strong they were. glad to see harvick back to winning ways. this week, i need a little help, i want to pick 11 or should i go with the 29,18, or if you have anybody else in mind. i need a pick from you to dominate to led and to start near the front and maybe win the race. my gut tells me the 11. can you tell me yours and who might win? thanks.
Thanks for the tip of the cap Mike...Usually at Talladega total crapshot trying to find usual information but I thought I pulled out some good stuff last Sunday with the ECR engines and Denny Hamlin...Speaking of Hamlin if you go 11-18..that would be a little stronger than 29-18 or 11-29.
Will we ever see the #3 Car in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series since Dale Earnhardt Passed Away in 2001?
I don't know...you can never say never Chris...but it would have to be just the right circumstance and I can't picture anybody but Dale Jr. driving it...but that's just me.and total guess..
Good afternoon Mark, please rank going into Richmond.(29,31,48,16,14,24,18,11,5,2) (38,1,42,43,77,47,20,17,12). What is your thought on well Mears will run in the 36 this week?
First on the Mears thing..He's got to get into the race first and that has not been a slam dunk by any means for the Tommy Baldwin team....as for ranking all those drivers...how about I give you my pre-race, pre-raceday chat top-30....1.Denny Hamlin2.Kyle Busch3.Jeff Gordon4.Tony Stewart5.Jimmie Johnson6.Jeff Burton7.Kevin Harvick8.Mark Martin9.Clint Bowyer10.Juan Pablo Montoya11.Ryan Newman12.Dale Earnhardt, Jr.13.Kurt Busch14.Greg Biffle15.Matt Kenseth16.Martin Truex, Jr.17.Marcos Ambrose18.Jamie McMurray19.David Reutimann20.Joey Logano21.Kasey Kahne22.Carl Edwards23.Sam Hornish, Jr.24.David Ragan25.A.J. Allmendinger26.Brian Vickers27.Robby Gordon28.Scott Speed29.Paul Menard30.Bobby Labonte
This current fued with Jimmy and Jeff is what Nascar needs. Also a welcome back Jr. is great for the sport. Give me a Pre-Race line up.. I have been fadding as of late need to finish strong last 2 races.. Great Chat Love Beth
Back at ya Beth...absolutely this Jimmie-Jeff spat is just what the sport needs right now..Now they'll probably screw it up by getting all chummy again..lol...As for a line-up for ESPN Stock Car Challenge....Hamlin, Kyle Busch, and either Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart for the "A" drivers...and I going hands down with Jeff Burton and Harvick for "B" drivers..That's whay my team is going to look like unless something crazy happens in practice and qualifying.
On the top end, if you had to leave one off this week, who would it be - Hamlin, Kyle, or Smoke AND WHY? On the other end of the spectrum, do you see B. Labonte or Travis Khaphil finishing better or in the neighborhood of Allmindinger or Menard?
Andy...you can read this in my race preview as well...but here's why Hamlin and Busch are the easy top-two picks....Denny Hamlin grew up in the shadow of the Richmond International Raceway and last fall he was able to accomplish one of the man goals he had for his racing career and that was to drive into the victory lane of his home track. The FedEx Toyota driver did it by being out front for 299 of the 400 laps. This came on the heels of a couple of agonizing near misses. In the spring race back in 2008, he led 381 laps but cut a tire and fell back to 24th at the very end. A year ago, he made another serious run at a Richmond win, leading 148 circuits but finishing 14th.His closest competition could very well be Kyle Busch. He is the race defending winner and in ten Richmond starts has eight top-5 finishes and has been unusually strong in the sprint shootout. The finishes Busch has come up with in the last five spring races at Richmond are fourth, fifth, second, second and first.
Just had someone send me funny video of RCR and Earnhardt-Ganassi drivers dancing...funny..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFXY5czuiQ4
QWUESTION TO MARK GURU GARROW AT 3.25 PM good wednesday guru WHO DOES THE RICJMOND GURU HAVE FOR SATURDAY NIGHT
I have a punch out between Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch my good friend Ray Gordon...don't have to be much of an expert for that one the way those two run at Richmond.
early line up for richmond, got 24-31-39-77 with 18-33-88-82 on bench, what you think
Some tough picks there Dave..I like the 18 more than the 24 but I ranked them two and three so they're close..Bowyer will be very good, but I think Burton will be better. Newman over the 88 I can live with but Junior loves the place and is a three-time Richmond winner...and I would definitely take Hornish over Scott Speed.
good afternoon Guru, Great plate race, another driver off the snied in happy, I knew he was going to make the elate pass when it went to G,W,C. Who gets off the win-less streak next?
As for the longer streaks Gordon, Burton, and Bowyer have a shot this week at Richmond...Junior has an outside shot..Richmond is one of his favorite tracks and some people may have forgotten but he's won there three times before...
Mark, my picks for Richmond: 18-29-88-77. Show me the money time?
Not bad Nick..but you might want to look at the transcript of this chat because up front I had my pre-race top-30..I like Hamlin a lot and I think Harvick has an outside shot to win and should be a lock top-10, I think you might be able to do a little better..same thing with the 88...Junior will be good, but can he be great?..love to see it, but I'm just not sure.
Have you heard any more rumors/facts concerning RPM/Gillett/Bank situation.
No I haven't...but if they are trying to liquidate just about everything they have..Gillette's are probably in tough shape...I hope the can right the ship and keep the team rolling.
mark, any news on denny's electical issue or just a bad battery, the toya's have had some wield issues here in the past?
I don't really have any doubts about what kind of performance we'll see out of Denny or the FedEx Toyota team Saturday night...They've got Richmond dialed in big time.
Do you think the Petty's (probably Kyle and other Pettys) would step back in and buy it back for pennies on the dollar or is it we have out cash good riddance to them?
Richard might be able to put something together, but I don't see Kyle involved in it..there are rumors of a big family rift when it comes to the racing side..besides I think Kyle is really enjoying his work on Speed.
mark, denny was the per-seaon favorite to challenge for the title, was off to a slow start, but now is back to form. with 2 W's already and some of his best track to come, how many W's do you think denny will end up with?
I can see Denny winning 4-7 races this year. He's consistently fast just about everywhere we go..only places to almost scratch him off list entirely are the two road course races at Sonoma and Watkins Glen. Everywhere else they should be competitive and then some.
mark, no luv for Brad K. this week?
Whoa...typo in my top-30...Had him at number 20 after Reuttiman but before Logano...Thanks for picking that up.
Mark, who do you see having a better day at Richmond? Robby Gordon, Labonte, Smith, Bliss.
Bliss is a possible/probable start and park..so I'd stay away from there...Robby Gordon ran 14th at Phoenix and that usually translates well to Richmond..so I would rate them Gordon, Labonte, Smith and Bliss just like you have them written.
Who do yu think will win the Heath Calhoun 400 presented by Crown Royal?
I'm big on Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch.
mark, have yet to watch the dancing driver, so who's the best dancer?
Don't know..but Bowyer's got the biggest smile..lol..
I can see it now, Dancing with the Sprint Cup Star's, throw them all off on night one and tell them do not quit the day time job!!
I can live with the dancing but having the guys wear dresses....well that's just gone too far!
Do you think it's safe to take only one of the RCR cars and not all 3?
That's what you'll probably have to do in the ESPN game..I think Bowyer's going to be good but I'd take Hamlin, Busch, Gordon, Stewart and Martin ahead of him...In "B"..that's when you take Harvick and Burton and hopefully let the good times roll!
Well going to close it down for today...race day chat this Saturday afternoon at 4:00 eastern..hope to hear from all of you then..and until then may the force be with you and you have a great week...Thanks again everyone...The Guru has left the building.
