  (11:44 AM)

ESPNNewYork's Ohm Youngmisuk will stop by the 'Nation at 1 p.m. ET to chat about the New York sports scene.

Ohm
  (12:33 PM)

Hey everybody! Thanks for stopping by and we'll start the chat shortly. I cover the NY Giants for ESPN-NY but am happy to talk about the NBA as well since I covered the Nets for five seasons and the Knicks for four seasons before that. Any questions you got, Giants, Jets, Knicks, Nets, LeBron, I'll try to answer as many as I can. See you guys soon!

marco kleeman (Evansville, Indidana)

I think people put soo much pressure on LeBron that he chocked. He would be a much better player if he went to another that had some talent around him.

Ohm
  (1:00 PM)

Marco,Well, LeBron needs more help and that was evident last night. But strangely, I've followed the NBA all my life and covered it for a decade and I can't remember the last time I saw a player put up 27 points, 19 rebounds, 19 assists and I still felt like he didn't do enough. LeBron is a back-to-back MVP. If you win two straight like that, the expectations are ridiculous and rightfully so. He will always be compared to Jordan and Kobe and I never saw Michael go through anything like LeBron did in Game 5. Even when Michael was sick and had the flu or what have you, he rose to the occasion. LeBron has a ways to go before he reaches that level. But he's still young and learning and it took Michael a while before he got there as well.

Tom (Ohio)

How can you blame anyone but Lebron James for quiting on the Cavs in the playoffs? This isn't the coaches fault the other players or the front office it's all on Lebron he quit you seen with your own eyes on national TV!!! The Cavs had the right pieces they should that with the best record in the regular season so stop making excuses and tell it like it is Lebron QUIT!

Ohm
  (1:03 PM)

Tom,Well, I got the feeling in Game 5 that LeBron wasn't thrilled with the game plan from Mike Brown and it was like LeBron was going to show everybody, hey, I am just following the game plan which is to dump the ball inside, establish Shaq. Mike Brown may be a good defensive mind but he was exposed with his offensive play-calling in this series and I definitely think the coaching staff deserves blame. The role players looked awful at times, remember last night down the stretch when everybody looked scared to take a shot? Antawn Jamison was awful and Mo Williams disappeared down the stretch as well.LeBron, though, definitely deserves the most blame. If you are the superstar of superstars, back-to-back MVP, you are going to take the heat. Like I said earlier, he had a ridiculous triple-double and it never felt like it was nearly enough.

courtney jackson (lindenwold, NJ)

Hi ohm, do you think the jets will make the playoffs this year?

Ohm
  (1:05 PM)

Wud up Courtney,I do think the Jets are going to make the playoffs. But you know, and you have seen this way too often, when a team gets that close to the Super Bowl and then tinkers a lot with the roster as they have, sometimes things tend to go wrong the following season. The Jets schedule is TOUGH. I like the moves they made with exception to one and that was getting rid of Thomas Jones, not necessarily because of his production but because he was so respected and such a leader in the locker room. I think there will be a lot of pressure on Sanchez to step up and progress even more. He has all the weapons around him and he can't suffer through anymore four-interception games. The Jets are built to win now and they don't have patience for anymore growing pains.

Sean (Washington DC)

Transplanted NY-er here wondering what you think about the Jets PSL fiasco? I looked into buying 2 seats about a month ago and have been hounded by their rep ever since. Still have a ton of interest in going to the games but I think I speak for most people when I say their methods have actually convinced me to watch the games at home rather than buy the seats.

Ohm
  (1:08 PM)

My man Sean from my hometown of DC...I heard about the Jets hounding people to buy tickets. And they are mad expensive right? It's real hard as a fan to drop that kind of coin on a football game. Heck, I get mad just shelling out 16.50 for a movie these days (I saw Clash of the Titans) and it's like 40-some bucks after you get a pizza and popcorn. I can't imagine having to take out like a home-equity line just to pay for season tickets for a football team. The PSL's are nuts, and it's only going to take the true fan out of the stadium. But the Jets are going to be exciting this season, if nothing else. I think the Jets have reportedly like 10,000 tickets to be sold. The Giants only have like 1,500 remaining. One thing sounds sure, no way the Jets are blacked out. Woody Johnson would get torched if so.

JC (Clearwater, FL)

Again Ohm. We have ya again. Must be a boring time of year for ya but its good to have ya here for us. With all the talk about how the Giants running back core is good or bad depending on health where does DJ fit. They had high hopes for him but he couldn't get quite healthy enough. Does he have the talent to be Ward part deux?

Ohm
  (1:09 PM)

My man JC... wud up?I think Ware does have that kind of potential to be like Ward. I usually hate running back-by-committe but there's no denying the Giants did pretty well with Earth, Wind and Fire. Ahmad Bradshaw thinks he and Brandon Jacobs will be better, faster and stronger this season after surgeries. I do think Ware will have a role as well. Whatever they do, Giants MUST get back to the power running game again.

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

What is the best

Ohm
  (1:10 PM)

CF,Don't know what you are asking but the best for me is whenever Michigan State football and basketball win! And anytime there's good old school rap and R&B being played! LOL.

Zach (North Carolina)

Where will D Wade go?

Ohm
  (1:12 PM)

Z,It's impossible right now to predict where these guys are going. But in all my years of covering the NBA, I do know one thing - these guys are all friends for the most part and they all talk to one another. And I definitely can see D-Wade, Bosh, LeBron and others talking about where they will go and possibly teaming up. That is why I do not discount the Knicks for a second. They can sign two max guys from what I believe and I can see two of these guys saying, let's do this! But it's early right now. These guys won't start talking to one another until like a month from now. They usually go take a vacation and cool off and then plan their lives.

CC (Atlanta)

Please say the Knick won't throw big $$ at Joe Johnson. After watching him in ATL the last 2-3 years, he's not a lead player. Not even close.

Ohm
  (1:14 PM)

CC,I am sure being in Hotlanta you see your share of JJ. I agree with you. Joe is a nice player but not a max player even though he will probably get the max. He is more of a secondary star, a sidekick if you will. He'd be a great third star to tell you the truth. But he earns way too much to be that third guy. But as far as being the franchise player, go-to-guy who will carry your team... eh, I'm not feeling Joe like that. Love him as your second guy though. In that case, if I am the Knicks, my dream scenario is like LeBron and D-Wade or LeBron and Bosh. I wonder if the Nets will make more of a run at JJ.

Joseph (Tennessee)

What's wrong with the Yankees pitching???

Ohm
  (1:15 PM)

Joseph,It's still early, no? You got to like how Hughes has been so far no? I think CC will get it going soon enough. As for Pettitte and Burnett, I also think they got to get things together eventually.

CC (Atlanta)

Are you sensing the Mets imminent implosion? Francoeur and Pelfrey have reverted back to old ways and Beltran is still a month away. I sense a last place finish.

Ohm
  (1:17 PM)

CC,I always sense the potential Mets implosion. I'm not a hater. Just telling you how it is. Been that way for years. I am surprised at how well they are doing. But I just don't see the Mets keeping that up.Perhaps it is me but I always thought the Mets didn't do enough in the offseason and kept a team that has perennially choked together hoping that everybody being healthy will just result in a playoff run? Sorry, I don't see that.

J.P. (JC)

"What's wrong with the Yankees pitching?" Answer: Nothing, they are 2nd in the AL in RA/g at 3.6

Ohm
  (1:17 PM)

J.P.Like I said... still very early no? Yanks will be there down the stretch.

Derek (SI NY )

Ohm, would Lebron really consider NJ if or when they make a max offer?

Ohm
  (1:20 PM)

D,If the Nets had gotten that arena ready in BK for next season and the new owner in earlier, I'd say the Nets would have a very very strong chance at landing LeBron. One thing I will say from my time with the Nets. Do not underestimate Jay-Z's friendship with LeBron. They are like brothers. Now I know, Jay-Z isn't that big of a part owner in the team. But this new owner coming in has deep, deep pockets. He wants to win. He can offer LeBron global exposure.I think the Nets have a shot, just a shot. I got the Knicks' chances above the Nets. But if Dolan messes things up, and Jay-Z somehow convinces LeBron that he can own NYC from BK and if the Nets get that first overall pick... hey, who knows?

John (New York)

Hey Ohm,You see the Mets becoming a playoff caliber team anytime soon? It's been tough being a fan of this team lately.

Ohm
  (1:22 PM)

John,I feel for all Mets fans. What that team has put you guys through over the years is insane. Way too much heartbreak for a fan to endure.Be like me... just always expect the worst to happen. That way, when things go well, you are pleasantly surprised. Like if you go out on a blind date, just think the worst man. That way, if she is hotter than expected or cooler and funner than expected, hey, things exceeded expectations! The problem with many Mets fans is that they want and hope too much and they live and die with each game. If the Mets win 6 out of 8 games during one stretch, does that really mean they are going to the playoffs? No. They just got hot and they are teasing you for the inevitable heartbreak at the end. I hope the Mets prove me wrong. For your sake and all Mets fans out there.

Wolverine (Ann Arbor)

You've done such a good job with the giants. Really been enjoying the quality reporting. Too bad you went to state. Keep up the good work

Ohm
  (1:23 PM)

Wolverine! Thanks man. That's the nicest thing a Wolverine has said to me since my ex who went to "that" school. LOL. I am trying my best. Hey, what do you think of RichRod this season? I always want to know from Michigan fans, who they will feel if State beats U-M again?

Drew (Boston)

What is the Giants' plan if Brandon Jacobs has another disappointing year and Ahmad Bradshaw continues to get hurt? Do they have another Reuben Droughns up their sleeve?

Ohm
  (1:25 PM)

Drew,Congrats if you are a Celts fan being from Boston. My guess... and purely just a guess, is that if Brandon has another down year, the Giants will look to add another running back next season. I think the team really needs to see a healthy Brandon this year. Bradshaw hopefully will be healthy. If those surgeries don't fix all those problems he has, that will be a major problem. Although Bradshaw says he feels better already. And let's see what Ware and Brown does in camp as well.

Zach (North Carolina)

Hey Ohm, you think the Carolina Panthers will actually have a more then decent season now that Jake Delhomme isnt at quarterback anymore?

Ohm
  (1:26 PM)

Z,I actually like the Panthers and Coach Fox. I think having Moore in there, or even the rookie, will be better than Delhomme. Just keep pounding the ball to Stewart and DeAngelo and get the damn ball to Steve Smith please!!! I actually think the Panthers could give the Giants some trouble in that season-opening game - a must-win for the Giants to get that bad taste out of their mouths from last year and that whooping the Panthers put on em.

John (New York)

Hey Ohm,Do you see the Mets becoming a playoff caliber team anytime in the near future? It's getting tragic rooting for this team.

Ohm
  (1:27 PM)

I think I might have answered this question earlier but no, don't see them going to the postseason this year. Need to clean house a bit and change the leadership.

Yomama (Texas)

Were Do Yuu Think Lebron Is Going Next Seasonn ?

Ohm
  (1:30 PM)

Yomama,Love the handle! My guess... New York. I have been thinking this for the past year or so. I never thought he was going to go back to Cleveland. I think he wants to be global, a $1-billion athlete. I think he loves NYC and Jay-Z, his homeboy. I think he will love playing in the Garden. And after how everything went down this week in Cleveland, time to move onto a city that will love him if he gets them to the playoffs. I feel bad for Cleveland. The city deserves better. But LeBron did all he could there. The talent wasn't that great. And the coaching wasn't that great either. After that, I think Chicago, Cleveland, Miami and the Nets all have a chance. But if I'm LeBron I go to the Knicks. If you go to the Bulls, you follow in Michael's shoes and you need a sign-and-trade to get you another max player. The Knicks can just sign two max players without a trade.

alasco (Buffalo,NY)

SKIP should win an emmy for his prediction about the athletes he " HATES" or has been hated on so far. he's right about LEBRICK JAMES

Ohm
  (1:30 PM)

Alasco,Skip has been on LeBron for a long time and right now he's definitely been right about LeBron. I know many think Skip is the biggest hater ever. But listen to haters sometimes. Sometimes, they tell the truth.

Zach (North Carolina)

Hey Ohm, do you think the Bobcats will get anyone good this year to build their franchise?

Ohm
  (1:31 PM)

Z,I was surprised by the Bobcats this season. I'd like to see how Mike builds from here. He got a terrific season from Stevie Jax. But I wonder how much Jax has left. And where is Larry Brown going to be. I don't see the Bobcats getting much better right now.

Jared (New York)

Lebron - Clips? (They have the cash, the market, and Griffin)Bosh/Wade - MiamiAmare - KnicksJoe Johnson - Nets What do you think of this?

Ohm
  (1:33 PM)

J,Yeah, I saw the Clips in the picture with LeBron but I just don't see it... LeBron playing for the Clips with Kobe with the marquee team? The Clips will always play second-fiddle to the Lakers. Bosh-Wade in Miami makes a lot of sense and would be pretty ridiculous. I've seen the Bosh trade rumors to the Lakers as well. I can definitely see Joe Johnson cleaning up once LeBron and Wade and Bosh are gone and he will take the money from the Knicks or Nets if LeBron is gone. But the Knicks and Nets need more than Joe Johnson.

John (LA)

How did you get your start into sports journalism? You don't see many Asians as reporters.

Ohm
  (1:35 PM)

John,Yeah, I was lucky, I had Thai parents who didn't make me become a doctor or lawyer. Plus, I'm the only Asian bad at math. LOL!I always wanted to be involved in sports and grew up reading Michael Wilbon and David Aldridge in The Washington Post and wanted to be like them. All I wanted to do was cover the NBA and I went to Mich. State for J-School and did several internships and luckily here I am. Thanks for asking!

Clay (Charlotte)

You've got to be slightly disappointed that Rex Ryan got the stomach surgery...come on, no more "This is defense looks as hungry as Ryan at a buffet" or "I think Rex is out of breath from tossing that challange flag"? It's a little sad, isn't it?

Ohm
  (1:36 PM)

Clay,Well, I love Rex. I mean, Rex is the best. A great, great dude. Whatever makes Rex happy, makes me happy! LOL. Hey, one thing about Rex that I always admired is he poked fun at his shape himself. Rex is a stand-up dude, well, except when around Miami fans who scream at him and stalk him at MMA events. LOL.

lawrence (stowe vt)

Being A Braves fan, do yo have any idea when the Mets implosion will happen, or should I just set my clock for their yearly Sept debacle.

Ohm
  (1:37 PM)

L,LOL! You know, a few years ago, when I used to appear on Daily News Live on SNY, I used to say, I really want to see what the Mets will do when they face the Braves at the end in September and that tomahawk chop is going on and the pressure is on to win the East. The Mets need to show me they can handle the pressure and the moment. And until then, expect the collapse to come earlier than September.

Al (Passaic)

Do you think the Nets will get any FAs this year?

Ohm
  (1:38 PM)

Al,Yes, the Nets will get free agents. I like their core - Lopez and maybe the first-overall pick. If it's Wall, I can see Devin getting dealt for even more players. And always trust in Rod.

Wes (FL)

If LeBron insinuates that he wants Callipari to be the HC and would come to the Knicks if he is the coach... would the Knicks agree to that and fire D'Antoni for Cal? Seems very unethical but it appears the Bulls/Cavs may be willing to accommodate that request.

Ohm
  (1:40 PM)

Wes,I don't see the Knicks firing D'Antoni that fast. But the Knicks sold their soul for this summer to get LeBron and if LeBron says that's what he wants, why not? I mean, it's not like D'Antoni has really shown that he is guaranteed to win a title right? Not that Cal would get LeBron a title either though. I rather stick with D'Antoni personally. Cal is a terrific college coach.

Mike F (Longview, WA)

See the Yankees making a run for my Seattle Mariners Cliff Lee??? Vazquez has been quite the bust, an NL type of pitcher. Yankees willing to get rid of some of their young talent???

Ohm
  (1:41 PM)

Mike,Cliff is a beast. But the Yanks need to keep some of that young talent and develop them. They don't want to be like the Mets and leave their minors bare. But you know how the Yanks roll... if they are in the running and need that extra player to get them over the hump...

lawrence (stowe vt)

Who do got Jay Z or Eminem?

Ohm
  (1:41 PM)

L...Are you asking me who I like more? Jay-Z or Em?I love Marshall, and karaoke him often. But I am a Jay-Z guy forever. Long live Hov.

lawrence (stowe vt)

is Manning gonna step up this year, or is he gonna continue to play second fiddle to his big bro, and now Sanchez?

Ohm
  (1:43 PM)

L,I think Eli will always kind of play second-fiddle to Peyton until Peyton declines. This season, I see the Colts beating the Giants in that second game of the year.I do think Eli will be better than Sanchez though. Mark's time will come. Not just now. Eli did well last season. He raised Steve Smith's game didn't he? Give him the running game again and I think Eli can do damage.

Devin (CT)

When the Nets finally move to BK, how much of a factor will they be in the NY sports scene? Now, they are an afterthought, but how much will a mere change of location make, IYO?

Ohm
  (1:44 PM)

Devin,HUGE. Nobody came out to see the Nets in New Jersey. Even when they were good and going to the Finals, there were so many nights when few people were in the building.Put them in the city or even close to the city in BK, and make sure the product is good, good young exciting players and the Nets will be a player for sure. Had those J-Kidd, K-Mart teams been in BK, oh boy... that would have been something. The Garden used to light up when the Nets were throwing alley-oops all over the Knicks back then.

Josiah (Denver)

is it possible that lebron goes to the nets next season, especially if John Wall gets drafted there, it being that he was at alot of kentucky games and have a close relations wit calipari..

Ohm
  (1:45 PM)

J,Don't sleep on Brooklyn and don't sleep on the Nets. If they get the number one overall pick, that just gives the Nets even more of a chance. Right now I think it's slim though. But things can change in a month. For sure.

Nick (Patterson)

Will the Nets be an attractive destination for the Nets before they move to Brooklyn? Or will players still see it as NJ and irrelevant until they are finally in BK?

Ohm
  (1:46 PM)

It's got to be all about Brooklyn.I live in New Jersey and wish it would work out for the Nets here. But it just hasn't and likely won't. If the Nets want a star, they have to sell Brooklyn hard. Ratner set the franchise on this direction years ago. Now they have to see it through.

Lennon (NJ )

Ohm- which giants rookie will make the biggest impact this season?

Ohm
  (1:47 PM)

Lennon,I think Linval Joseph may have the most immediate impact. Pierre-Paul looks a bit raw and he has so many pass rushers in front of him. Dillard could emerge at MLB but he has to win the job and his job may be a bit harder to grasp as a rookie since he has to direct the defense. I liked the little that I saw from Joseph. Big, agile, athletic and strong.

Jay (NJ)

Realistic offseason for the Knicks?

Ohm
  (1:48 PM)

Jay,Who wants to think about realistic? LOL. I want LeBron. After LeBron, the Knicks simply must get a big name. Joe Johnson is not going to cut it. The anticipation is only building, especially after Boston fans chanted "New York Knicks" to LeBron.Get LBJ!

LAWRENCE (stowe vt)

Why was Jay Z in the yankees championship parade? I guess I must have missed him playing left, or PH for Jeter?

Ohm
  (1:49 PM)

Lawrence,Remember as Jay said... he made the NY hat more famous than the Yankees! LOL. Jay is a big Yankee fan as everybody knows. And I can't wait for his concert with Eminem at Yankee Stadium.

Jack (Dallas)

Best fit to be the next Nets head coach?

Ohm
  (1:50 PM)

Jack,I actually do not and did not discount the Coach K. reports. From what I heard, the Nets were interested and I think Coach K. always has an eye on the pros. Don't know how a national title changes that or not. I do not see them going back to Cal unless LeBron says that is what will get him there. Avery Johnson is always a name out there as well to keep an eye on. Rod will do the right thing.

lawrence (stowe vt)

Arn't the Clippers second fiddle only because they dont have A Lebron like player?

Ohm
  (1:52 PM)

L,Yes. But sometimes, take a look at the Nets. It's years and years of being second fiddle that is engrained in the culture. In LA, the Lakers rule. There are generations and generations of Lakers fans and LeBron's arrival there wouldn't change that. But it would be terrific to see.

Rich (NY)

Are you allowed to write columns about things other than the Giants? Or are you specifically assigned to the Giants?

Ohm
  (1:53 PM)

Rich,I do the Giants for now but have done some Jets stuff. I do some pop culture things like I wrote about the ESPN NFL draft party and will continue to do that. Hopefully my bosses will let me do some fantasy football columns and some tennis and NBA... we'll see.

Adam (Bronx)

Thoughts on the offer LeBron got from SCORES? Will that be enough to get him to NY?

Ohm
  (1:53 PM)

Adam,I actually didn't see that. But I am sure New York, and all of New York City, will give LeBron whatever he wants to come. New York needs basketball again, badly. I remember how the city was like when the Knicks made that run to the Finals in 99. It was awesome!

Zack (Detroit)

Your thoughts on Big 10 expansion?

Ohm
  (1:55 PM)

Z,I'm not feeling the Big Ten bringing Nebraska and Missouri. Leave the Big 12 teams alone. Get Notre Dame for sure. And then maybe a Big East team like Rutgers or Pitt would be great, that way I can see my Spartans on a regular basis. LOL.

Robert (Ky)

What are the chances that LeBron and Phil Jackson end up in Chicago?

Ohm
  (1:55 PM)

I think Phil said no way. But Jerry Reinsdorf and Phil had a good relationship. I just have a hard time seeing LeBron following in MJ's footsteps. He has to do it already, why put yourself in Chicago through all that and not go to New York and create your own legacy?

Tim (New Jersey)

You've been around players... how much do you think having a charismatic "playboy" billionaire owner like Proky can help bring guys here and help get the Nets on the map?

Ohm
  (1:57 PM)

Tim,The new owner hopefully will be in the Mark Cuban mold - spend at all costs to win and make the product immensely better. Players care about these things. That is why they love Jay-Z being around. But the bottom line is winning. And at least the Nets now have an owner who will do whatever it takes to win and spend the money.

Clay (Charlotte)

Your thoughts on bacon?

Ohm
  (1:57 PM)

BACON!!!!!!

lawrence (stowe vt)

Think Lebron will sign with the NY football Giants?

Ohm
  (1:57 PM)

I think the Giants are loaded at safety but then again, you can never have enough safeties!

Bobby S (Lantana FL)

Why are players today still allowed to coach the coach?. The players job is to play hence the title of each role, "coach to coach, player to play". A recent example...Lastnight after a foul toward the end of the half Rondo's tells Doc, "No I'm good." It's not a role Rondo nor is it a role any player should be able to question the coaches decision. I dont care how good he's playing or how much money he makes these types of players are out of line.

Ohm
  (1:59 PM)

B,You must understand one difference between the NBA and all other leagues. In the NBA, the players make guaranteed money. They are their own corporations. The NBA is star-driven. All the power is with the stars. Unless you are like Phil, who has all the rings, then most coaches must let the stars do their things. It's the NBA baby.

Hank Steinbrenner (Tampa)

If the Nets do get LeBron, would they sell out games at the Rock? Also, do you think there will be any difference in attendance in general now that they are out of the Meadowlands?

Ohm
  (2:00 PM)

I think the Rock will make a difference but not much.If LeBron is here... wow, good question. If they can't sell out for LeBron, then they never will. I'd like to think they can.

Mike (Ohio)

FWIW, Calipari tweeted today that he is Kentucky's coach. Of course, last year he said he was happy in Memphis and then was gone a week later.

Ohm
  (2:00 PM)

I love Cal... but look at his history... Cal has to say that to keep Kentucky fans happy.

carlos (san antonio)

big fan! i know that nobody mentions this, but do you feel that their is any way the Lakers make a push for Lebron? They have the best sign

Ohm
  (2:01 PM)

Thanks man!You know what? If Jerry West were still there, I'd say never discount the Lakers. They always manage to stay on top of the game. But in this case... don't see it happening. Besides, the Lakers need to share the wealth!

Aidan (Minn)

Twinkies or Yanks? Who ya got winnin the series?

Ohm
  (2:01 PM)

Aidan,Going with the Yanks for now.

lawrence (stowe vt)

Do you think Jay Z will use Beyonce to help lure free agents to NJ?

Ohm
  (2:02 PM)

I'm going to leave that one alone. But I hope those two NEVER break up.

Rich Rodriguez (Ann Arbor)

People who think we'll lose to State again need to get lives.

Ohm
  (2:02 PM)

RichRod,Can you just make sure you beat a MAC team first? How about having a winning season?

Thomas (Lawerenceville)

Yay or nay, A-Rod ditching Hudson for Cameron Diaz?

Ohm
  (2:03 PM)

T,Yay for ditching Kate Hudson. But then he goes to another blonde who is similar? I mean, Cameron and Kate just keep dating and dating and nothing ever works out or it never seems to work out... I think A-Rod can do better. Just my humble opinion.

rw (aiken)

kobe is gettin old

Ohm
  (2:04 PM)

RW,Word. But he's still an assasin and he wouldn't have let that Game 5 go down like that the way LeBron did.

Jason (Boston)

How do you think the dynamics would have changed if the Russian owner was owning the team when Kidd was still in NJ?

Ohm
  (2:06 PM)

Jason,I think K-Mart would still be a Net and the J-Kidd might still be a Net. Remember, the minute Ratner decided that he wanted the team for the arena in BK, the Nets stopped being a team that wanted to contend. They didn't pay K-Mart, say what you want about his knees and him not being worth a max contract. He was a max player for that team. And once they let him go, Kidd felt betrayed. Yes, they got Vince back later on but they never recovered after K-Mart.

rw (aiken)

I think that my boy Lebron with go to the Knicks because Jay Z is his boy. I think that Leborn and Mo Williams should be on the same team again cause that was Lebron only helper on the Cavaliers. If I was the owner of the Ne York Knicks I would pick Lebron, D-Wade, and Mo Williams together. Lebron, D-wade, and Mo Williams they will win a ring together. All three of them is great on the court.

Ohm
  (2:06 PM)

Let's just work on getting LeBreezy to NYC first. LOL.

Frank (NY)

Your thoughts on the "NY Knicks!" chants at the Boston Garden?

Ohm
  (2:06 PM)

Frank,One of the greatest chants ever. EVER.

Bill (New York City)

What do you with D. Lee next year if you were the Knicks? And would he be a good fit for NJ?

Ohm
  (2:08 PM)

Bill,I like D-Lee but I think he is a very good complimentary player, a guy to put up a double-double alongside a superstar or two. If he wants too much money, you got to let him go. Got to secure a max player or two first. As for Nets, I think they got Lopez already.

Wolverine (Ann Arbor)

I really hope that Rich Rod can turn it around this year, because if he doesn't I doubt he'll get another year. I think he has set himself up for failure though. First, he came in and completely changed the system, which is fine except that a coaches job is to make the most of the talent available, and he did the opposite of that. Also, I think there's too much pressure for him to not play the true-freshman Devin Gardner at QB. It would be much better for Michigan to redshirt him, but with RRs job on the line, he has to be looking to win this year at all costs. Agree?

Ohm
  (2:09 PM)

This is what I want...I want MSU to beat RichRod again. Then all the boosters go crazy and want a new coach. And then a new coach has to change the style of coaching and the type of recruits he goes after, setting Michigan football back another 3 years. :)

Joe (Milwaukee)

If LeBron does go to New York, who will else will the Knicks get to support him and David Lee?

Ohm
  (2:09 PM)

Joe,No guarantee David Lee stays. They are going to have to get another max player, which I think LeBron isn't coming unless they get another big-time player. From there, you have to hope Galinari develops and then surround them with role players galore.

Kirk (CT)

Will you be apart of Walsh's recruiting of LeBron? Will Walsh dispatch you to Cleveland to give LeBron a hard sell of NY? They can say you were a guy from the DC area who went to Michigan then went to the big city and flourished and Lebron can do the same!

Ohm
  (2:11 PM)

Kirk,This is all Donny needs to know about me. Whatever team I get around to report on - from the Pistons in 94, to Hawks in 96 to Knicks from 97-2001, to Nets from 2001-05, they all make the playoffs.I don't miss the playoffs. My first year on NFL here in NYC, both Giants and Jets made the playoffs. Second year, Giants won the Super Bowl. Every year I have been on football here, at least one NY team has made the playoffs. Tell Donny I'll go to work for him. LOL.

Mike (Danbury, CT)

Is there any scenario where the Giants would actually bring back AP at MLB? Or has that ship sailed entirely? I just think if nothing else, AP could be a great mentor to a guy like Dillard and help make him a successful Pro, even if AP doesnt get on the field as a starter any longer

Ohm
  (2:12 PM)

Mike,I like where your head is at but I think AP's health could be a concern. Plus, that would be tough to ask such a proud player to take a possible backseat to other guys, especially if he isn't healthy enough to play, you know?

Dave (LV)

Do you and the ESPN Boston guys ever have any friendly wagers (not gambling, since it is illegal, right, ha) on games? You guys ever taunt them for being Boston homers? Cmon now, you gotta spice up the rivalry.

Ohm
  (2:13 PM)

Nah, We just started up. But soon enough. Soon enough. I guess we have to thank them for eliminating Cleveland and possibly getting LeBron one step closer to NYC eh?

Christopher (Staten Island)

Ohm, you have a short memory, Kobe has had BRUTAL playoff lay downs in the past including getting demolished by the 2008 Celts.

Ohm
  (2:13 PM)

C,Kobe has how many rings? Didn't he just win it all last year?No doubt he is getting old and banged up. But I still got him over LeBron for now and I think the past series against Boston just showed that.

Christopher (Staten Island)

SI is reporting that Cavs fired Mike Brown

Ohm
  (2:14 PM)

RIP Mike Brown.Mike was done in Game 5. It was over then.

Mark Cuban (Dallas)

I am in the process of working out a sign and trade to add LeBron to Dirk, but my question is how do you think LBJ would like sharing the spotlight with another A Level Superstar?

Ohm
  (2:14 PM)

Cubes,LBJ will be just fine. He is a facilitator. My boy J-Kidd will make it work. LOL.

LeBron James (Everywhere)

The only thing that matters to me is winning the title, why do the Knicks give me a better chance at winning the title than some of my other potential destinations? I know they can sign another max level player, but beyond that what else do they have to offer?

Ohm
  (2:15 PM)

You get to bring your own max player with you. Isn't that more than what you have in Cleveland? And you play in the greatest city in the world, in front of your boy Jay every night, and get to be global. And if you get the Knicks to the playoffs, you are a hero already. Win a title, and you might be above Jeter.

Jay-Z (NewYork baby)

Thanks for reppin' my music

Ohm
  (2:16 PM)

Jay,I need four tickets to the concert in Yankee Stadium please!

Mike (Hartford, CT)

Why would Lebron or any player for that matter, who has a choice want to play for the Dolans? Isnt he better off signing a two year contract to stay in Cleveland and then sign with the Nets when they are ready to move to Brooklyn?

Ohm
  (2:17 PM)

Mike,This is my main concern. Dolan. Hopefully Dolan wises up and gives LeBron whatever he wants.

Ogre (Adams College)

Ohm, fantasy sports are for NERDS!

Ohm
  (2:17 PM)

Ogre,Call me a NERD then because fantasy football is the BOMB.

Blake (LA)

How far would the Knicks go to get LeBron? Would they be willing to give him a stake in the team or the MSG Network or something crazy like that? He wants to be a billionaire athlete, Knicks need to use their financial advantage and Dolan's deep pockets to convince him anyway they can. I hope they don't have 'limitations' after selling their soul. The 1 max slot and Gallinari alone are not enough to get him to come here over other teams.

Ohm
  (2:18 PM)

B,I believe they can't give LeBron a stake in anything like MSG network. I believe that's against the rules. But players who have played here always tell me how the benefit of playing in or near NYC is how you meet so many rich people who work in NYC. You make serious partnerships with people with fat pockets. And those last long after you are done playing.

Sey (Brooklyn)

Would you try and get Tony Parker to go along with LeBron 1 Max? Would you be willing to trade Danillo for him?

Ohm
  (2:19 PM)

Sey,If LeBron comes with another max player, I can't see them getting Parker because of his contract. If it is just LeBron, then yes, go get Parker if nothing else is out there. But I don't see LeBron coming if it is just him and Tony Parker.

Alex (BK)

The Jay-Z factor... will he push LeBron to the Nets because he has a small stake in the team, or will he just encourage him to go to either NY team (after all, he did grow up a Knicks fan and is a NYer)?

Ohm
  (2:20 PM)

Alex,I seem to be in the minority but I think LeBron will listen to those closest to him. And Jay-Z will have a heavy influence. Jay is a smart man. If he can't get LeBron to the Nets, I am sure he'd like LeBron to be with the Knicks.

Jared (Florida)

Since Curry is an expiring this year, could the Knicks ship him off for something useful to surround the max FAs with?

Ohm
  (2:21 PM)

Jared,The Knicks would love to get rid of Curry for anything at all I'm sure.

Harold (SI)

How do you think the Nets attendance will be in Brooklyn? How many Knicks fans do you think will jump ship if the Knicks are not a legit contender by then?

Ohm
  (2:21 PM)

I think there will be people that go to the games if the Nets are any good no matter if they got to take the train there. People are dying for good basketball here.

Christopher (Staten Island)

Hey Ohm, before you talk about Kobe not letting his team go out like Lebron did please see the following: Kobe Bryant, 2003-2008.

Ohm
  (2:22 PM)

C,Hey, I know Kobe didn't always win and he played like Strange Kobe at times and was perplexing. But Kobe's game is so much more refined and he has a killer attitude. I still don't like how things went down with him and Shaq but I got to give Kobe his props.

Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)

Alright, the Chat Ref has had enough. That's 15 yards on anyone who mentions LeBron for the rest of this chat.

Ohm
  (2:23 PM)

Ed, you still working out? Getting any bigger?

Christopher (Staten Island)

Can you give us a quick breakdown on the Giants offensive line this year? Do you think they can do better with run blocking?

Ohm
  (2:24 PM)

C,The Giants offensive line is getting a little older as we saw last season. Injuries crept up on them. The Giants are high on Mitch Petrus, their fifth-round pick. He might supplant Seubert eventually. And Will Beatty is going to be given the chance to compete for a starting tackle job.The Giants need their offensive line to get back to the power running game for sure.

jeff (nh)

Hey ED, where do you shoot your steriods?

Ohm
  (2:24 PM)

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

Al (Brooklyn)

Walsh needs to assemble an 'all-star' NY team to recruit LeBron - Jeter, ARod, CC, Reggie Jackson, Spike, Mark Sanchez, Revis, J-Tuck, Denzel, JayZ, Nas, Donald Trump, Bloomberg, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, LT (both of them), Carl Banks, etc. Everyone famous from NY they can find to recruit LeBron

Ohm
  (2:25 PM)

Al,I whole-heartedly agree. They need to go back to the days when Checketts used to get Seinfeld and Spike to send videos recruiting Allan Houston to NYC. Use every resource the city has to offer.

Ohm
  (2:26 PM)

Wasn't Michigan basketball ranked in the top 15 this season preseason and then they tanked?LOL.

Wolverine (Ann Arbor)

ESPN had Michigan ranked at the 14th best recruiting class this year, hopefully that will help turn things around. I'd be surprised if Michigan didn't make a bowl game this year, but that's not saying much. By the way, why no love for Nebraska and Missouri?

jeff (nh)

Ohm, your favorite sport and why?

Ohm
  (2:28 PM)

Basketball and football. It's a tie. Love both. Love how every game means so much in football. And love basketball because there's few things better than seeing someone get dunked on or crossed over or seeing a huge three-pointer made in the face of a defender. So much drama and action in the last few minutes in basketball.

Ryan (Germantown, MD)

Hey Ohm, I heard Coughlin was late to a golf tournament. Should he have been sent home?

Ohm
  (2:28 PM)

Don't mess with Coughlin time!

Craig (CA)

Do you think James being knocked out so early helped the Knicks from the standpoint of him being frustrated, or hurt them from the standpoint of he still feels there is unfinished business and needs to bring them a title?

Ohm
  (2:28 PM)

Helps... for sure.

Mike (Danbury, CT)

How much influence do you think Mike Dantoni's involvement and familiarity in the Olympics will have on the decision these impending FA's? Or is that just overblown? I am still holding out hope for a secret pact that was made during the Olypics between Wade, LBJ and Bosh to all spread the Knicks cap money out equally and then just rake in the dough after all the championships pile up! I can dream cant I?

Ohm
  (2:29 PM)

From what I have heard, the players love D'Antoni, the Olympic guys at least. So it can't hurt.

corey (ny)

lebron wouldnt have so much pressure if he didnt dub himself KING james. the guy has won nothing but is treated like a diety

Ohm
  (2:29 PM)

Time for the King to find a new castle.

Tank (Danbury)

If you don't get LeBron or Wade (and as a result Bosh, because I think he is going to caddy one of those guys rather than go somewhere alone), what do you do? Sign Johnson, Amare, or someone... or wait for Carmello?

Ohm
  (2:30 PM)

I'm sure Donny has a backup plan. But I, nor anybody else in NYC, wants to know what that is. They just want LeBron.

Frank (NJ)

Do you think LeBron already knows what he is doing and has known for a while? Or do you think he has an open mind and the results of this year change his mind?

Ohm
  (2:31 PM)

I think he has thought about it but he doesn't know and won't know until later on. I think his mind is open to being recruited and he will make a very sound decision.LeBron has a ton of people who advise him and he will listen to all of them.

Ohm
  (2:31 PM)

Alright everybody! Thanks for chatting man. A lot of fun. Let's do it again next Wednesday I believe... Have a good weekend!
