Chat with Ohm Youngmisuk

Ohm
  (1:01 PM)

Hey everybody! Thanks for coming by and chatting for a bit wiht me. Let's get this thing started!

Tim (New Jersey)

I am a big fan of Kenny Phillips, and I was wondering what you think about his comeback and if he can get back to where he was before his injury. I thought he had the play making ability of the late sean taylor, can he return to that form?

Ohm
  (1:03 PM)

Tim,I think you are right, KP showed us glimpses of being that type of safety in the mold of a Sean Taylor, perhaps not as physical but definitely a dynamic one. I am a bit concerned though because he has a serious condition and the moves the Giants made in the offseason certainly prove that they have to have some concern as well that he will come back in time. Rolle and Grant and then drafting Chad Jones too. Let's hope KP comes back and is on track like he says but we will know a lot more in camp. If he does return and is anywhere near what he was against Dallas last year - and he says he will be better because he played that game hurt - then the Giants defense will be pretty good.

Drew (New York)

What's good, Ohm? Do you see Eli and the receivers taking a huge step forward this year with the running game looking like its on the way down?

Ohm
  (1:04 PM)

Wud up D!I loved what we saw from Eli and the WRs last year. But with that said, I am a firm believer that the Giants don't want to pass that much this season. The running game must return and the balanced offense has to be there. I just don't see this team winning a lot with Eli being forced to pass a lot. I think they are capable of putting up numbers but you know Coughlin teams and the Giants are best when they can run the ball.

Carl Spackler (lala land)

Ohm, i keep missing your chats, love them...Dont let Andiamo push you around, he can get a little fiesty...All this Jeter position-change talk is bologne, hes still got it, agree? Also, how long before Nicks is our #1? In limited action last year he impressed. Did he see any action in OTA's?

Ohm
  (1:06 PM)

Carl! Wud up homey? Thanks for stopping by dude. Andiamo is cool. We good! Jeter question eh... well, I will say this... sooner or later, and we have seen glimpses at times, Jeter will fall off. But because of who he is and what he has done, I am big on loyalty to superstars who have remained wiht one team for a long time. You gotta let Jeter do his thing for as long as he wants. And with Nicks, he could definitely emerge into that role soon. By the end of the season is a possibility. But let's see how he does after this toe surgery he had. But he is definitely the Giants' biggest WR playmaker in my mind. He has not participated in OTAs yet, just individual stuff.

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

What is The Best

Ohm
  (1:07 PM)

July 1st when LeBron starts his free agency sweepstakes. That is going to be bananas!

Mike (Bronx)

If Kenny Phillips comes back 100% and is healthy all season, do you see the rookie Chad Jones playing any cornerback to add some depth to that position?

Ohm
  (1:08 PM)

Mike,I can see Jones playing some in passing down situations. He has a big athletic body and I think if his hands are as good as the Giants think they are - the college scouting director said he believed Jones had some of the best hands in the draft - then he will be a playmaker.

DC (PA)

Hey Ohm, good work man! What's going on with Barden? Is he finally going to contribute? I was pumped at the start of last year, but lost faith over the season...what do you think?

Ohm
  (1:11 PM)

DC,Wud up man. Thanks bro for the kind words. Barden is progressing but it is early. OTAs you know? But he is still that huge massive target, makes flashy catches every now and then and he says he is way ahead of last year now that he doesn't think as much and knows the offense better. Here's a story I wrote on him last Friday in case you missed it. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfceast/post/_/id/14424/giants-barden-flashes-his-potential

Mike (Bronx)

Hey Ohm, what are you expecting from the Giants run game this year? And serious production out of Jacobs or Bradshaw? And how do you see DJ Ware and Andre Brown doing as backups?

Ohm
  (1:12 PM)

Mike,It's a big question mark. Last year was stunning to see how these dudes couldn't run and gain major positive yardage. I know a lot of it had to do with injuries and the offensive line took a step back, no question. There is a lot of pride on that side with the running game - I know it's a cliche - but I believe it. But I do wonder how much the Giants need a third back like they did with D-Ward to really be effective. Brown has looked decent coming back off that Achilles injury. I will definitely be keeping an eye on him in camp.

Scott (Albany,NY)

With Aaron Ross coming back healthy and the way Terrell Thomas played last year who do you see as the odd man out at the corner back position?

Ohm
  (1:14 PM)

Scott,The Giants like TT a lot. I know Aaron is happy to be back and playing exclusively at corner again. He says he feels great and this should be an interesting little competition in camp. I still think that Perry Fewell will find enough time for both.

DC (PA)

If Osi, Kiwi, and all the other DEs get rotated in and out, will that lead to the good kind of competition (fresh and hungry) or the bad kind of competition (complaining and selfishness)??

Ohm
  (1:15 PM)

DC,I am sure Jerry Reese is hoping for the fresh and hungry kind. I think Osi is hungry after last year and real motivated. It is going to make for a really interesting camp. Can't wait. But it's on Osi really. And I think he will be cool. Is he emotional? Sure. But I don't think he will be making a serious stink unless he isn't playing at all.

TS (Rockland County)

Is there any chance that Manningham gets the no. 2 WR spot this year? WR Coaach Ryan was praising Manningham in OTAs for his explosiveness and comfort with the offense.

Ohm
  (1:16 PM)

TS,Yeah, I was there when Ryan praised Manningham, saying he actually has shown even more speed. I still see Nicks at 2 but we have to see in camp. My guess is Smith, Nicks and Manningham.

Mike (Fartville (yes its a real place))

Hey Ohm, the Giants and Kevin Gilbride have been accused of conservative play calling over the past couple of seasons. With the young and talented offensive weapons they now have, do you see them doing more play action, flea flickers, and other trick plays to confuse defenses?

Ohm
  (1:18 PM)

Mike,No way man! Really? Where is it? Crazy! LOL. Jerry Reese said yesterday that the Giants offense has been working on new stuff. I know they got more weapons and we would like to see some more of Travis Beckum and Ramses Barden as well. And let's see who emerges as a pass-catching running back as well. But to me, Giants need to get back to that bruising running game. The offense has to stay balanced. That way, it makes Nicks all the more dangerous.

kevin Marzolla (NYC)

Hi Ohm, Would you agree that the biggest concerns going into this season are the productiivity of the linebacking corps and the health of the offensive line and kenny phillips?

Ohm
  (1:19 PM)

Kev, Yeah, I would say the linebacking corps is concern numero uno (see, that seven years of Spanish paid off!). Giants must find a suitable replacement for Antonio Pierce at middle linebacker. Otherwise it could be disastrous. Offensive line is huge because the running game has to come back to what it used to be. KP to me is a bonus because of the injury he has and all the safeties the Giants added in offseason. If KP comes back like he was or better, that's gravy.

Andiamo708 (Dante's 5th circle of hell....aka Work)

Ohm, whad up man? After you so callously ended the chat last week w/out answering my last question, I've decided to lead off with it this week. Although I'm not a Jets fan, and could really care less about them....how on earth did they decide on having camp in Cortland NY. Being a Cortland grad I can honestly say that the place is just awful.

Ohm
  (1:22 PM)

Andiamo,Remember homey, I am the Giants beat writer. Not the Jets. But since I did spend the past three seasons around both Jets and Giants and a lot last year with Jets, I try to answer as many Jets questions as well. But the Cortland thing, that is a question for my man Rich Cimini, our Jets beat guy. I don't know when camp is at Cortland, assuming first week of August. I went up there for three days last year, it was slow and I think the Jets loved it because it made them have to bond even more. Rex absolutely loved Cortland and this team needs to have great chemistry this season to win.

kevin marzolla (nyc)

Hey Ohm, do you think that Kevin Gilbride needs work on better gameplans, especially once we get in the redzone becuase it is my belief he runs the ball when we should be throw(i.e. 2nd and goal from the 8 Yd line)

Ohm
  (1:23 PM)

Kev,I have had problems with their redzone playcalling in the past and I agree with you. Barden would help and even adding a Beckum out there as another threat helps as well. They could get a bit more creative for sure. But if the running game comes back the way it was before last season, that will help a lot.

alex (nj)

what do you make of the mlb competition and do you think they gmen will try FA for a mlb or possibly a trade of some kind? Thank man great job!

Ohm
  (1:25 PM)

Alex, thanks for the praise homey. So far, what I have seen is Goff starting at MLB in OTA. Very early though. Coughlin says there will be a rotation. I am very concerned about the middle linebacker position though. Curious to see the competition and how rookie Phillip Dillard does. He worked with second team in OTAs. Perhaps a decent MLB will be released by camp time and maybe the Giants will look there. Trade? Don't see it but Reese said do not discount going outside. My guess? He sticks with what he has.

DC (PA)

Of course I read the article on Barden...ha! Just trying to get you an easy plug.... What do you think of our starting OLine...who do you project as the starters?

Ohm
  (1:26 PM)

Look at you DC? Taking care of me! Thanks bro! O-line... hmm... well, I think if there is a change, could come with Seubert. The Giants seem to really want a youngster to emerge. Beatty is going to get a good long hard look. Guy Whimper I think saw some time with the first team at OTA last week, sharing some with Seubert. And Gilbride even said that draft pick Petrus reminded him of Seubert. But Seubert is a fighter so it won't be easy for anybody to replace him.

Mike (Fartville (yes its a real place))

Hey Ohm, who on the Giants do you think has the stinkiest farts? Love the blog!

Ohm
  (1:27 PM)

Mike, you still haven't told me where Fartville is! LOL. Man, I dont want to know the answer to your question dude. Thanks for reading the blog. Once I learn how to post pictures to it, I will post an intro blog so I can formally introduce myself to all of you guys and gals!

Ohm
  (1:28 PM)

Oh, and everybody, feel free to comment on the blog. Would love to start a big family on the blog and I will try to chime in too!

Scott (Albany,NY)

Since you started the Lebron thing , I have to ask. I don't see him in Cleveland after the way it ended and I don't see him playing in Chicago under the shadow of MJ. Where does that leave him? Do you really think New York is his plan?

Ohm
  (1:30 PM)

Scotty! You and I think alike. I know he told Larry King that Cleveland has the edge. But he has to say that. Look more into his comments about what it would be like with the Clips if he played with Bosh or Wade. I think he is going to look to team up with one of them. That is what he has to do if he wants a title. Knicks can add two max players. If he went to Chicago, besides the Jordan factor, he has to have Bulls work a sign-and-trade. Sure they got the pieces. But why not go to New York, hang with his bro Jay-Z, play at MSG and be a hero. The one major negative for Knicks and LeBron is Dolan. Does he think Dolan is cool and committed to winning? Major question!

Tim (New Jersey)

Ohm, do you think last years picks Andre brown and Ramses Barden make any impact this year? The running game could use a boost, and all I keep reading about Barden in OTA's is that he is making great plays

Ohm
  (1:31 PM)

Timmy, I think Barden has a chance. If he progresses in camp and shows he truly has a grasp of the offense and stays committed and consistent, he has a chance to get on field. Brown needs to show he is fully healthy first. So far, so good in OTAs for Brown. I think he has a shot if healthy.

alex (nj)

Who do you see winning the mlb job and do you see the gmen signing a mlb or possibly trading?

Ohm
  (1:32 PM)

Alex, so far Goff is the leader in the clubhouse. I think it comes down to him and Dillard. Signing a MLB is a possibility but we got to see if anybody is let go once camps start around the league. Don't see much trading.

JR (Kentucky)

Hey Ohm, do you see Linval Joseph being seeing a lot of playing time this season?

Ohm
  (1:33 PM)

JR,Wud up man? How's Kentucky? You guys sweating the Calipari rumors out there? LOL. Linval is my candidate for rookie who has the biggest impact this season. From what I hear, players think he is going to be a player. Very strong, very agile, athletic.

TS (Rockland County)

I feel that if the Giants are healthy, they should win the division going away. I'm talking about running away and hiding. The team had 14 (that I counted) surgical procedures done in 2009, four of five RBs injured, the LG and FB injured before Week 1, 1/2 the secondary play a total of six games, a defense that was 2nd worst in the team's 85-year history, and yet, was still in the playoff hunt with two weeks left in the season. There's no way that I should expect anything less than a division championship in 2010. Do you agree?

Ohm
  (1:35 PM)

TS, you've done a lot of research homey. Does your boss know you are doing this at work? Just playing. Yeah, I hear you with the injuries and everything else. But I still think, if completely healthy, they finish second in the division, behind Dallas. So many question marks. Who emerges at MLB? Will the running game return? Is the offensive line old now? Even when healthy, is the Giants secondary really that good or what? We'll find out. Better hope they stop that running game in Week 1 vs Carolina or else this season will get off to a nasty start with Indy in Week 2.

Malke (NC)

OHM whatup? What do you think the chances are Beatty to win the LT job and if he does, where does Diehl line up?

Ohm
  (1:37 PM)

Malke, what's going on fella? Beatty will be given every opportunity to win a spot. I think Diehl moves over and then maybe a vet like Seubert or McKenzie takes a step back. Who knows... it will be interesting battle in camp.

Jim (NY)

The thing with Dolan is... he isin't the most likable guy in the world, but he has a ton of money and will let his GM spend it. If he has a good GM like Walsh, I would think it is better to play for a guy with deep pockets rather than an owner who is somewhat frugal (a la Chicago's owner).

Ohm
  (1:39 PM)

Jim,I usually agree, unless that owner with deep pockets likes to meddle and make some of the decisions too much. We will have to see but I think Dolan has let Donnie do his thing. Maybe I'm in the minority but I think New York is more attractive than Chicago. I know the Bulls got D-Rose and Deng and more talent. For sure. But LeBron can mold his own team in NY. Get a Bosh in there. Who knows, maybe we can dream of a Wade-LeBron combo although I don't think that will happen. But Bosh-LeBron is a great start. Now, if Chicago could work out a sign-and-trade for Bosh and get LeBron with D-Rose, that would be nasty and that is why people are mentioning Chicago so much.

kevin (nyc)

Ohm, Can you see with more experienced receivers, a more established run game and a better defense; eli manning throwing for 35td's or more. Some think he'll throw less because they'll commit to the run but I think he only threw 30 more passes than 08 last year and had 6 more td's

Ohm
  (1:40 PM)

Kevin,I think it's better to see Eli not throw as many touchdowns. If Brandon or Bradshaw are scoring more touchdowns, to me that is a much better indicator of the Giants winning than Eli throwing a ton of TDs.

Alex (Bedminister)

If not Bosh or Wade (they both end up in MIA) who would you think is the best fit next to LeBron in NY?

Ohm
  (1:41 PM)

Alex,I don't think Stoudamire is a great fit with LeBron. He is all offense and not enough rebounding and defense. I think LeBron does need a big scorer next to him since LeBron is a great facilitator. Bosh would be great because he is a big man who scores and blocks shots and rebounds. Dirk? I don't think it would be a great fit. I'm gunning for Bosh or Wade if I am the Knicks to go with LeBreezy.

urim (connecticutt)

what u think of micah johnsons role and if linval joseph could come in and start thanx ohm

Ohm
  (1:43 PM)

Urim,Micah Johnson has a long ways to go if he is going to make an impact. Too many linebackers ahead of him on depth chart. Joseph has a major opportunity to come in and make an impact. As far as starting, I see Canty and Cofield starting inside on the D-line but Joseph rotating in.

Andiamo708 (Dante's 5th circle of hell....aka Work)

Ohm...I always comment in the comments section...eventually this place will be rocking. If you do a good job of Training Camp run downs you'll get a lot of traffic. Just gotta be quick w/ the draw and beat out Garafolo

Ohm
  (1:44 PM)

I know you are there... you are loyal homeboy. Hopefully I can develop a bigger posse. I will do my best at camp. I already got my blackberry surgically attached to my hand like my homeys Garafolo and Vacchiano.

Jay (MD)

Any of the Giants or Jets going to get involved in recruiting LeBron? Or only of the Knicks ask them?

Ohm
  (1:45 PM)

Jay,Interesting. You know, the old Knicks, under Checketts, would get everybody involved and they were masters at putting together great recruiting packages. Let's hope Dolan hires the best and uses all of NY to the Knicks' advantage. Rex recruiting LeBron would be AWESOME!

Joe (White Plains)

Giants really need to get off a good start... 3 of their final 4 games are brutal! If they have a late season collapse (due to the tough schedule), does Coughlin go? With the exception of 07, that seems to be the theme under Coughlin... (late season collapses)

Ohm
  (1:46 PM)

Joe,Word! I think if the Giants collapse again, and fail to make the playoffs, say they get off to another good start - perhaps 4-2? - and then collapse down stretch and say the collapse is bad, like blown out in games, and then a stinging loss to McNabb and the Skins in the finale... it won't bode well for anybody in the organization. Especially after Mr. Mara put everybody on notice at the end of last season. Pierce is right, everybody is on the hot seat and should be.

Carl Spackler (Bushwood Country Club)

What I tell you about Andiamo? LOL I kid, I kid. Ive been wondering this for quite a while and I know im not alone in this. How has Tom Quinn maintained his job with the Special Teams??? It really has been the Giants point of weakness for some time now...have you heard anything on this within the organization?

Ohm
  (1:48 PM)

Carl,You and Andiamo! LOL. Well, I get what you are saying about Quinn. I'm guessing you want to see a better return game for sure. But how bad could the special teams be? Feagles was a beast until most of last year. And Tynes hit the game-winner to get to the SB. I know he missed before that though in GB. But still... could be worst no?

Nick (NJ)

Is Rod Thorn still a good GM or is he over the hill?

Ohm
  (1:49 PM)

Nick,In Rod we trust. Sure my man Rod is getting a bit wiser with age. But with a new owner there giving him unlimited pockets now, I expect Rod to do some wheeling-and-dealing. Trust me, you can do plenty worst than Rod. Rod is the man.

Tim (New Jersey)

Ohm, to piggyback kevin, Who do the Giants like the most at MLB?

Ohm
  (1:49 PM)

Tim,So far, if you go off OTA and who started with first team, got to be Goff. I think they have seen flashes in Dillard as well.

JR (Kentucky)

Which group has the most question marks going into training camp? Last year it was the WR. This year I would say it is the OL or LB?

Ohm
  (1:50 PM)

JR,LB for sure. MLB... huge, huge questions.

TS (Rockland County)

Months ago I said that the Giants needed to trade either Kiwi or Osi in the offseason. If Osi has a big year, he'll want a new contract. If he has a bad year, it'll be three bad years in a row and his value is shot. If Kiwi has a big year, he could walk at the end of the season and the Giants would get nothing for him except for some sorry conditional pick. If he has a bad year, then he officially didn't live up to his first round draft status.I'm putting you on the spot. Who goes and who stays in 2011?

Ohm
  (1:51 PM)

TS,My guess is Kiwi goes. Osi stays, JPP gets more PT by then. But this is pure speculation on my part. I hear everything you are saying about Osi. And it all makes sense, if he does have a bad year, value shot. But the contract is still a good one. This is a great soap opera that will play out this year. Can't wait!

Kevin (Florida)

Ohm, what's the linebacker situation looking like right now?

Ohm
  (1:52 PM)

Kev,Goff started at MLB alongside Boley and Sintim with first team. Dillard on the second team at MLB with Kehl and Blackburn if I remember correctly.

JR (Kentucky)

Hey Ohm, Kentucky is great, We love Coach Cal, but we are realizing that rumors follow the guy everywhere no matter if they involve cheating or the NBA....so speaking of KY, as a UK football season ticket holder, do you see Micah Johnson making the team, and if he does, do you think he plays mostly special teams?

Ohm
  (1:54 PM)

Cal? Cheating? What? I actually like Cal after dealing with him from the Nets. But yeah, controversy does tend to follow him around. I was just saying earlier that Micah is kind of buried behind other LBs but I want to see what the kid has to offer for sure. I'd say special teams is his shot.

Scott (Albany,NY)

great job so far, one last thing on LBJ in New York. Everybody says Chicago because of D. Rose but LBJ doesn't need a PG. His game is to handle the ball and make people better, Danillo is one of the best shooters in the game that nobody talks about. We will just have to wait and see July 1st in just around the corner.

Ohm
  (1:55 PM)

Scott,Agreed. LBJ is great with the ball. To me, he is needs a clutch scorer to take some pressure off of him at the end of the game. Would be great to see him and D-Wade together if those two didn't mind who was "the man."

John Bender [via mobile]

Does Barry Manilow know that Seth Everett raided his wardrobe?

Ohm
  (1:55 PM)

Bender... any relation to Jonathan? LOL. Whoa, whoa, whoa! Killing Seth Everett and the wardrobe. Dude, I got to say, pretty funny man. I'll have to ask if he karaokes Manilow at all.

Dave (DC)

Are you a Joe Johnson fan, if Bosh is not available to pair with LeBron? Would you also be OK with him if we don't get LeBron?

Ohm
  (1:56 PM)

Dave,I do like JJ but really more as a third guy, not a second guy and definitely not as a franchise player. But he makes too much to be a third option. I don't think LeBron and JJ get the job done.

Doug (NY)

Any updates on JPP? Haven't heard the coaches say anything about him since rookie mini camp. Gotta love it when he says he is in great shape, and everyone thinks he looks slow. It's probably way too early to make a judgement, but can this guy actually contribute this year?

Ohm
  (1:57 PM)

Doug,The beat writers have been mostly asking questions about the middle linebacker spot and other things. JPP is still learning a lot. I don't see a huge level of contribution this year. I think he will see some spot duty. I see mostly Tuck, Kiwi, Osi getting the work.

Mike (Bronx)

You OK with your boy A-Rod ditching Kate Hudson for Cameron Diaz?

Ohm
  (1:58 PM)

Mike,Man... you know what? To me, they are like the same. I mean, every dude they date, never works out. In my humble, humble opinion, A-God can do better. LOL.

Mike (Bronx)

You OK with your boy A-Rod ditching Kate Hudson for Cameron Diaz?

Ohm
  (1:58 PM)

Oops, wrote the answer before the question. Got so excited to talk about K-Hud or Cameron! LOL.

Tim (New Jersey)

How are the players reacting to Perry?

Ohm
  (1:59 PM)

Tim,So far, so good. They like his energy and enthusiasm. Too early to see what they think of his strategy and schemes because he really hasn't worked on that during OTA from what we see. But he is a big upgrade over Sheridan and that is major so far. Players like him much more than Sheridan.

Nick (Texas)

They couldn't find a better backup than Jim Sorgi?

Ohm
  (2:00 PM)

Nick,Well, Eli rarely misses games and Sorgi backed up Peyton so why not? Actually, Sorgi looked pretty impressive early on during last week's OTA until he threw a pick six at the end. But really, I think the backup behind Eli is there to make him better and observe and help out.

alex (nj)

What do you think about bradshaw replacing jacobs as the starter?

Ohm
  (2:01 PM)

Alex,Bradshaw may have better production but I still like starting off with Brandon. I like seeing the big fella.

HN (VA)

What are the chances that the Giants pull some sort of trade for a MLB??

Ohm
  (2:01 PM)

HN,Not likely, at least, that's my guess. I think they are going to stick with what they've got.

Al (NJ)

How do you feel about Rudy Gay and/or Lee to the Nets?

Ohm
  (2:02 PM)

Al,David Lee? I know Gay can put up numbers and he might be a nice addition with the core they got. But I want somebody better for the money. With Lopez, I know they can use another rebounder but I rather spend my money on somebody better than David Lee.

Zack (NJ)

prediction for the record this year?

Ohm
  (2:03 PM)

I went 10-6 and gotta stick with that. Can I actually see them winning nine games? Yes. But I will go 10-6 and think that the running game is better than last year and the MLB is very inconsistent, up and down.

Patrick (VA)

How about LeBron signs a 5 yr deal with Cleveland with an option to opt out after year 3... allows for him to try and win in Cleveland, also doesn't lock him into a place for a long time. The Brooklyn door is also open in 3 years...

Ohm
  (2:04 PM)

Patrick,LeBron definitely could sign a three-year deal and do this all over again. I can see that. But why in Cleveland? Are they really going to be that much better? 3 years from now, so much can happen. Why not just move now?

Mike (Ohio) [via mobile]

As a long time Colts season ticket holder, I can tell you Giants fans this: Jim Sorgi is without peer at holding a clipboard on the sidelines. And his wife is good looking, too.

Ohm
  (2:04 PM)

There you go Giants fans... listen to Mikey!

Trent (LA)

If the entire organization is on notice... why did they have the kind of draft they did and not get that many immediate impact players? Seems like they drafted a lot of projects and reached for Dillard, their biggest need...

Ohm
  (2:06 PM)

Trent,Good question. Jerry Reese probably thinks that the team will be healthier this season and the impact players ie: Jacobs, Tuck, Osi, Bradshaw, KP... will all be back. So he added depth and youth to push those guys. Would have loved to have seen Rolando McClain though. Too bad Al Davis ruined it for everybody! LOL.

Dave (LV) [via mobile]

Wouldn't it be more than fair to say that controversy follows Cal around for good reason? He is the proud holder of 2 vacated final four appearances, ya know.

Ohm
  (2:07 PM)

D,Well put. I ain't starting nothing with Wildcat nation though! Except when they play my Spartans! Besides, I love watching Ashley Judd so with Cal there, plenty of Kentucky games on TV!

Eric (Queens)

After seeing what numbers he put up last year... isin't the offense better if run through Eli rather than relying on the running game? Eli has 4 legit options and maybe Barden and has matured as a QB.

Ohm
  (2:08 PM)

E,I think Eli will be best off if they have a balanced game. But they do know that they can run it through Eli and have the running game compliment. But I think get the running game established and then let Eli go to work.

Brian (NYC)

Is Barden legit, or just typical OTA/training camp hype? Are they really going to use him more?

Ohm
  (2:08 PM)

B,Got to wait and see in camp. Long ways to go. But the dude is HUGE and has good hands.

Jack (FL)

Have you seen the New Medowlands in person? What are your thoughts on it? Some people have said it has an impersonal feel to it and like a warehouse...

Ohm
  (2:09 PM)

Jack,I've been on the field. Impersonal? too early to tell for me because I haven't seen a game there. I was at Cowboys Stadium though last year and while that place is MASSIVE, that scoreboard is pretty damn impressive.

Anthony (Bergenfield, NJ)

Hey Ohm, really enjoy your articles. Was just wondering why a lot of people, mostly media, keep putting Bradshaw down. The guy averaged just under 5 yards a carry on two bad feet. I've actually felt he was a more productive runner than Jacobs the last couple of years. Just wanted your input. Thanks

Ohm
  (2:10 PM)

Anthony,Thanks for reading homey. Who puts down Bradshaw? Definitely not me. I love the dude. He is explosive, fast and works his tail off. Plays hurt. Old school. And his production is very good. You are right. I hope he is fully healthy this year and pain-free. Seeing him stay healthy is major.

Punter issues!? I know that Feagles was averaging about 32 yds/punt, but, think about his ability to land it within the 10 yd line! I think his loss is going to be felt on the defensive side of the ball. What do you think?

DC,Feagles' loss definitely will be felt. For sure. No argument there. He was a weapon. At times, a bit shaky last year but no complaints from me. We'll see who emerges at punter this year. Interested in seeing how good Dodge is.

Ohm, you gonna be in Albany at all this summer? Im movin back to the area and plan on being there as much as possible. Any chance ESPN lets you do any player interviews or video highlights at camp for the ESPN New York site?

I will be there the entire time. And I'll be doing all that stuff. And if I am off on my bday (Aug. 9th) and throw a party up there, you and everybody else is welcome to stop by. Just got to find a nice place that has a crafty dj who plays old school rap and r&b!

Please tell Mr. Spackler that I have a pool and a pond. The, uh, pond would be good for him.

uh oh... we got beef on here in the webchat? LOL.

Doug (NYC)

If the Knicks can't convince any of the Big 3 (LeBron, Wade, Bosh) to come aboard, does Walsh overspend on the next tier talent (Stoudamire, Lee, Johnson, Gay) or save his $ for next year's crop headed by Carmelo?

Ohm
  (2:14 PM)

Dougie... you know what? I know it would be a huge disappointment and it's very likely you know? But I think the prudent thing would be to wait for Melo... Why commit the same mistake under previous regimes and commit ton of money and not win?

James (Philly)

If you had to guess, what kind of defense do you think the Gmen will have this year? Top 10? Middle of the pack? 20ish or so?

Ohm
  (2:14 PM)

J,I think toward the back end of top 10...

Ryan (Germantown, MD)

Greetings from Germantown Ohm! I gotta take issue with you're prediction that the Cowboys win the division. You gotta believe man!

Ohm

My man Ryan from Germantown... wud up. Well, I'm not paid to be a Giants fan, I know you all get mad at that and what not. Got to be objective. I don't hate on the Giants either despite growing up in DC area. But I think it's between them and the Boys. I won't sleep on Eagles although their defense is taking a hit.

DC (PA)

Do you think the loss of Feagles will hurt more than we all think?

Ohm
  (2:16 PM)

DC,Yup.
