Bill Williamson
  (3:01 PM)

Ho everyone

Nick (Denver)

How do you feel about the extension given to Orton? I personally think it is a good move. Orton busted his but for us last year, it is not his fault he hurt his ankle and the O-Line couldn't provide any holes for our run game. he sure proved to the #1 honcho in Denver after the first preseason game and Tebow could learn alot from the young veteran.

Bill Williamson
  (3:02 PM)

That was hi everyone, by the way.I like the move. Orotn is a vet and he's playing well. Tebow can sit and learn a la Philip Rivers and Aaron Rodgers. Smart move.

Julie (Wichita)

Hi Bill, Did you see anything positive at Chiefs camp?..If so what?

Bill Williamson
  (3:03 PM)

Plenty, Julie.Love haley's leadership, the rookies, Cassel's deameanor. Things are getting better in K.C.

Bill Williamson
  (3:04 PM)

By the way, folks, this is our last 30-minute session then we'll go back to the hour format now that the trainng cmap trips are all complete.

Joe M. (south Florida)

Bill, are there any updates on Knowshon's hammy? What's your gut and experience tell you- will this injury linger for a good part of the season?

Bill Williamson
  (3:05 PM)

He's supposed to be back next week. He should be OK.

Kevin B... ye ye! (salt lake)

Who starts game the first game of the season next year Tebow or Orton?

Kevin (Warrenton, VA)

Okay Bill, I'm sure you are sick of this question. But who gets more carries in KC? Charles has the talent edge, with TJ eventually just be a 3rd down back?

Bill Williamson
  (3:06 PM)

With $5.5 million coming his way, at the very least, it's going to be Orton .... I still say it's Charles. He's special. Jones will only make him better.

Jimmy (Branson)

Are the chiefs relying to heavilly on in house production for the defence? Teams like the Baltimore ravens are heavy in linebacker and defensife takle. Do you see the chiefs pursuing good players on the bubble or possibility a player for player trade?

Bill Williamson
  (3:07 PM)

Yes, I see K.C. looking at the waiver wire at several spots, including the front seven.

Derek (NYC)

Bill, love your chats. Who do you see being the top 3 receivers in terms of receptions for the Broncos this year? Thanks.

Bill Williamson
  (3:08 PM)

Thomas, Royal, Gaffney.

steve dorsey (panama city beach, fl)

With the first part of the Chargers schedule being kinda easy, do you think it will benefit the Chargers getting VJ and Marcus Mcneil back in week 10 with them being in football shape by the playoffs or will it be more disruptive? Have any players thought of insuring themselves ala "lords of london" to just get thru the year? and thanks for the Chargers news, keeping me informed on the east coast. go bolts!

Bill Williamson
  (3:10 PM)

You're are right, but ... I don't see McNeill or Jackson coming back at all this season at this point.

Jay toledo,ohio [via mobile]

Do you think the raiders have a real shot at the division title??

Bill Williamson
  (3:10 PM)

At this point, I just think l San Diego is a few games better.

Dustin (Hattiesburg)

Which rookie was most impressive during your visit to the Chief's camp?

Bill Williamson
  (3:11 PM)

Really, Dustin,a bunch of them. I really like Berry, Arenas, and McCluster.

Josh (NJ)

What are the chances Marcus McNeill signs on his deadline today?

Bill Williamson
  (3:12 PM)

Ummm ... Zero.

Paul (Moose Lake, Mn)

What's the deal with Ryan Clady...I heard getting him back for the first regular season game against the Jags may be a little optimistic.

Bill Williamson
  (3:13 PM)

That's what the team is saying. However, I was out there last week and he looked pretty gimpy.

steve dorsey (panama city beach, fl)

With all his ailments and seemingly time to heal, will Merriman ever be "lights out" again? or is the Larry English era about to begin?

Bill Williamson
  (3:13 PM)

We should know that answer in five months or so.

John M. (Camarillo, CA )

I am a firm believer that if an NFL team has a strong starting defensive unit, they have a great chance at making the playoffs. That being said, based on what you have seen with the Raiders starting defensive unit, do you see an improvement?

Bill Williamson
  (3:15 PM)

I agree with you on that point ... it's way too early to say how improved Oakland wll be, but I expect it to be improved on defense. Just not sure if it will be good enough to take a ride to the playoffs.

Dan (Wichita)

With the confidence shown by Kyle Orton in the offseason and thus far in the preseason, is there any reason to beleive that Kyle Orton could have a Pro Bowl year in 2010?

Bill Williamson
  (3:16 PM)

If he can stay healthy and get strong help by his suporting cast, there's a chance. But a lot will have to happen.

Kris (Huntington Beach, CA)

Who has the better chance for a 1,000-yard season: Darren McFadden or Michael Bush?

Bill Williamson
  (3:17 PM)

Well, if McFadden can ever get healthy. It's sure looking more and more like Bush is going ot be the starter in Oakland because McFadden isn't getting any reps these days.

Steve (Fallbrook, Ca)

Hi Bill,In your opinion, most improved AFCW team?

Bill Williamson
  (3:17 PM)

KC, but it had the msot work to do.

John M. (Camarillo, CA)

Bill- Do you see improvement the Raiders defensive line? Last year they really didn't have the players to stop the run or create pressure on opposing QB's.

Bill Williamson
  (3:19 PM)

Sure, it looked great last week. Look forward to see what it does in Chicago on Saturday.

Frank (KC)

Why so much on Tebow? The guy is a third string QB. Orton is starting and received an extension. Man crush??

Bill Williamson
  (3:20 PM)

You have to feed the beast, Frank. America is fascinated by Tebow. Gotta to do what I gotta do.

T (PA)

How likely do you think it is that the Chargers don't win the division after all the training camps??

Bill Williamson
  (3:21 PM)

I like the Charegrs' chances. That sinmple.

Mike (San Diego)

After his stellar final 10 games last year, are you surprised Siler isn't expected to start this year?

Bill Williamson
  (3:22 PM)

Yeha, I think Siler is a starter in SD. The team really likes him.

Bill Williamson
  (3:22 PM)

Yeha, I think Siler is a starter in SD. The team really likes him.

Chris (Houston)

Bill, the Chiefs had 1700 yards offense in the first 8 games last year and 3064 in their last 8 games. With the addition of Moeaki, Jones, and McCluster, do you see this team being a top 10 offense this year?

Bill Williamson
  (3:23 PM)

Nice research, Chris. You nailed it. Yes, the Chiefs should be a lot better on O this season. Should be fun to watch. Really looking forward to opening night.

Chester (SD)

Tebow or Rivers?

Bill Williamson
  (3:24 PM)

Really?

Robert (CA)

if you were the coach who would you start Bush or Mcfadden considering Mcfadden injury prone issue. who do you think will be more productive?

Bill Williamson
  (3:25 PM)

Bush, baby.

Hootie (San Diego)

More or less total wins overall for the division?

TJ (CA)

How did Cam Thomas look in his 1st preseason game? Do you expect him to be starting by mid season?

Bill Williamson
  (3:27 PM)

Good one. The division won 30 games last year. I say slightly more, slightly....Yes, i expect Thomas to be a major contributor right away.

Alberto (Salinas)

How big of an improvement does the Raiders offense need to make to be able to compete with SD for the AFC West?

Bill Williamson
  (3:28 PM)

Well, they scored 17 touchdowns in 16 games, so how about tripling that number.

Jimmy (Branson)

Just getting back from chiefs camp did you hear any talk of Page? With Delmas from the lions going down do you think there might be a push to get a trade done soon?

Bill Williamson
  (3:29 PM)

There was zero on Page. No one cares there.

Bradley H. (Los Angeles, CA)

Hey Bill, do you think Lendale white contributes anything this season for the Broncos? Oh and I hope your sf giants continue their recent slide

Bill Williamson
  (3:30 PM)

As a short-yardage guy ... Oh, and thanks for the suport for my boys. I forgot how miserable pennant races are. Aren't they supposed to be fun?

Shawn (KC)

Every time Derrick Johnson is in the game, he makes plays and has impact. Why is he still not starting / in Coach Haley's doghouse?

Bill Williamson
  (3:31 PM)

I really don't get that one, either. I think Johnson is a playmaker.

John M. (Camarillo, CA)

Mr. Williamson-What do you make of the Raiders DHB, needing time off from practice do to fatigue? I have never heard of such a thing. In particular from the wide receiver position?

Bill Williamson
  (3:32 PM)

We'll see, but it's a little weird. There has to be some type of minor injury.

Bill Williamson
  (3:32 PM)

OK, folks, great session. Talk to you for an hour next Thursday.
