We should be joined by Victor Butler and Stephen Hodge any minute. We'll get the chat rolling once they arrive in the PR room here in Oxnard, Calif.
We're just waiting for the linebackers meeting to end.
We've got Victor Butler and Stephen Hodge here now. We're ready to go.
For TCU, it's going to be moreso the speed. I don't know if Oregon State plays anybody with so much talent and ability to get to the ball. It seems like everybody on the TCU defense has the ability to get to the ball and make plays. Tank Carter, our middle linebacker, is going to be our leader.
That's great that you've got leaders, because at Oregon State, we don't have solo tackles. We get 11 guys to the ball. We're fast to the ball. Everybody's like a DB. I've never seen anybody break a tackle with 11 guys on him.
From a Horned Frog in Gator country! Both TCU and OSU seem to play defense with similar style and intensity, especially in the D-line and LBs. What will be the difference in impact of both defenses in this game?
Hey Victor, what do you think about the defensive ends at Oregon State this year? Will we be able to generate the much-needed pressure against Andy Dalton and TCU?
Who's Andy Dalton? Oh, I'm sorry. You've got Gabe Miller. Andy Dalton will meet him soon, real soon. They'll know who he is when they watch film.
What's up Hodge? Hope your knee keeps getting stronger. What are your goals for this season? The Cowboys know you can be a star special teams player, but the TCU nation knows you can be a star defensive player.
My goal is to get back on the field. I don't have a specific timetable right now.
Victor, which game from your Oregon State career stands at as your favorite memory?
There are so many of them. With USC, I expected to win that game. It wasn't like an upset. The one that sticks out is Arizona State my senior year. I got an interception at the end to win the game. I had like three sacks that game, but Slade Norris played really good. It was like a competition between us two.
Stephen - great to see you on here. 1. What do you think of the Frogs' chances of running the table this year?2. When are we going to get to see you on the field for the Cowboys?
We'll see about running the table after the first couple of games, see how everybody stacks up. It depends on how the conference is. BYU is always strong. Utah is strong every year. We don't really make predictions at TCU. We just play football. We have a chip on our shoulder and go get it.
Hey Victor,Will the Beaver Defense step up and impress the nation in this primetime game? If the Rodgers Brothers and Katz lead the OSU offense and score 30 will it be enough to beat the Frogs?
Thirty is enough to beat a lot of teams, but that's a pretty bold statement. I talk a lot of smack, but TCU does have a good defense. They've got a really good defense. Putting up 30 is going to be a job. I think you'll see a lot of big plays by the Oregon State defense. It's a young group. From what I've heard, they're meshing well in this camp. They'll step up.
So, what's on the line between you guys for the TCU-Oregon State game? How about loser wears winning team's cheerleading outfit in Cowboys locker room ...
I'm not wearing a skirt. I'll tell you that right now. We can do jerseys.
Then we've got our own bet. We won't go into that.
And I will collect.
As a defender, which of the current cowboy running backs would you rather not see on the other side of the line and why?
I don't know. Marion Barber will run you over. Felix can run past you, shake you or run you over. Tashard Choice will run past you or shake you, but I don't think he'll run me over. I'll take my chances with Choice and MB. With Felix, you don't know what you're going to get.
And you definitely don't want to be on an island with Felix.
Thanks to Victor and Stephen for joining us. They're going to go get some rest before the Cowboys' afternoon practice.
