Chat with Paul Kuharsky

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:00 PM)

Greetings all. Happy Opening Night. Hope you are all well. I appreciate you being here.

Kevin (Louisiana)

After watching the punt catching vid, I must say, you are a cooler guy than you come off in chat. That was a good piece, especially for the sake of Mouton to Titan Fans... Did I see that Witherspoon is out for personal reasons and "might" be back on Sunday? Won't that be devastating if he is out?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:02 PM)

Wow, the video winning over chatters. Not one of my objectives, but a side effect I love. Thank you. feel pretty sure Witherspoon will be back.

Luke (H-Town)

How many wins is it gonna take to get a wild card this year in the AFC because the Texans aren't gonna beat out the Colts just yet but it is still playoffs or bust according to the city of Houston.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:02 PM)

I think 10.

Kubiak (H-Town)

If I don't reach the playoffs this year am I out of a job?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:02 PM)

The public pressure will be enormous. I would think McNair would have trouble standing pat again.

A Marine (Parris island, SC)

I get deployed on sept. 12th. I'll be back 2 weeks before the end of the season for vacation. With that said, I'll miss your blog and football. Try not miss me. Are the titans a playoff team or do they fall short this season? Under/over Marine Hall 300 total yards?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:04 PM)

Hey, good luck to you. Thanks for going and be careful. Honored to count you as a reader. If you send me a mailbag note, I can send you an email once in a while with a bunch of entries pasted in., Have done it for military folks in the past. I don't see Titans in the playoffs. Hall's a great guy, great player, great choice as captain. But won't get near 300.

Ryan (Indy, IN)

Thoughts on the Colts running a set with the 4 wideouts and dallas, empty backfield, it seems we could ?out-do? the patriots 4 wide set from two years ago, with the new o-coordinator being a former receivers coach and our inability to run, is this a possibility? or is the o-line too shaky? Last thing can you comment or have you seen in practice Peyton?s touch on the deep throws? Seems like they haven?t been used since somewhere between 03-05.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:05 PM)

I think we will see some four-wide, mixed in especially against thinner secondaries. I think Manning's deep touch is just fine. He's in a hurry more often, which is a factor.

Finley Kuharsky(via apple touch phone) (In the bed watching spor

Master Kuharsky,Look , with the economy in a shamble situation,I'm going to have to charge you for the rental space: my girldog is not happy bro. Holla at your dog. We'll talk price later!!Respectfully,Fin-Fin. PS,whats the line for tonight's game?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:05 PM)

So this is your house now? No more Pupperoni for you.

Abe Lincoln (via mobile from heaven)

Pete Kuharsky, I was thinking about your buddy Tim Graham and was reminded of a famous saying of mine: "A house divided against itself cannot stand"

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:06 PM)

I will pass that on to him. But am very glad we are not literally housemates.

Blake (London, UK)

What are the colts going to do about the OL? It keeps getting worse and worse, I know they never would but how much better would their sb chances look like if they traded for McNeil?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:07 PM)

It's not a good situation. But consider: If Johnson plays, it's four-fifths of the line that played in the Super Bowl, right?

Brian (The Boro)

I know you are not a prediction person, but I will ask anyways. What is your prediction on Big Albert coming back to the Titans or leaving the Redskins in General?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:09 PM)

Haynesworth to Tennessee is not happening now. Shanahan said so. Maybe we revisit next week. We won't discuss him any further here today as there will be better subject matter.

Spencer (Land of Indecisiveness )

Who to start this week in fantasy, Alex Smith or Dennis Dixon.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:09 PM)

Land of Bad Drafting, sounds more like to me.

Anthony Gonzales (The Bench)

Hey Paul....who has a better chance to make an impact this season...me or Fili Moala???? I can handle the truth

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:10 PM)

I think you. Things change weekly. Or on a single snap, as you know from last year.

Tony (Pt Jeff, NY)

Is it just me or is the biggest sleeper of this year in the AFC the Ravens-- EVERYONE talking about jets, NO ONE talking about the Ravens and they look dangerous.... and I am a Jet fan! What do you think of that and give me a game one score in your best opinion.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:10 PM)

I picked the Ravens to go to the Super Bowl and the Jets not to make the playoffs. So please stop saying everyone, OK?

golphur (Charlotte)

Me and my friend have a bet. I say Tebow is inactive on Sunday, he says not only will he play, but he'll score. Who's going to win that dollar?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:11 PM)

Head for the bank chief. I think he plays and scores.

Jason (Atlanta, GA (formerly Albuquerque, NM))

Paul, enjoy the blog (I read it every day). I've been a Titans fan since '99 (In the beginning of the season, so I'm not a bandwagon fan). I'm wondering why they are being overlooked so much for the playoffs. I don't think I've seen much about them making the playoffs, aside from John G. and Jaws saying they're sleepers. 2006 VY had a decent year when he took over, and they just missed the playoffs. Their D got stronger, and they made the playoffs in spite of VY. Last year, VY had a decent year and their D seems to be stronger. They now have a dominant RB who can help carry the load and draw attention away from Vince. It seems like they're set up to make a run for a 10 win, possible playoff season. Agree? Also, I'm not sold on VY, is he really as improved as people say? I'd have to say it's more that he plays well when there's no expectation/pressure. Hopefully the hype is justified this year.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:13 PM)

VY took over in 2006 when things were horrible and did well. He got benched in 2008. He took over in 2009 when things were horrible and did well. He's good when things are horrible and there's not a lot expected. How about now? Huge question in a league with a lot of very productive young quarterbacks.

Albert Haynesworth (still stuck in Washington)

Any suggestions on how I can tick off Shanahan a little more without totally destroying my value if the Titans don't want me?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:14 PM)

Shanny is hardly innocent here. He's getting off easy and is a control freak who's hurting his team. Time to patch things up and be done with it or to move you.

Joe Cullen (Drive-thru)

How do you expect the Jags D-line to produce/play this year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:14 PM)

Your rushmen will be better than the group was last year.

Patrick (Nashville)

It seems Indy's non-division rival is New England so who are the rest of the division's non-division rivals?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:16 PM)

Titans and Jags would be Steelers. Houston would be Cowboys. One man's opinion.

Jerry (San Francisco)

Thanks for that fun video of you fielding punts. You did a great job of hanging on to two of them. By the way, you do not look that fat but you do look older then 41.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:16 PM)

If I wasn't fat, I'd look younger. I think that's the equation. I was very squinty. Squinty guys can't be trusted.

Adam (Louisville, KY)

Bayless on First Take this morning predicted a Titans/Colts AFC championship with the Titans going on to win it all. Can I have your thoughts on the chances this being a source I actually find credible. Titans to make the playoffs seem like a long shot to me.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:17 PM)

Who predicting an unpredictable league is credible? He's not been at team HQ digging around, I can tell you that.

Taylor (Philadelphia)

Will Jones make Walter irrelevant in Houston? Reality, fantasy, and otherwise.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:18 PM)

I don't think so. Walter is super reliable and there is a lot of value in that. Is Jones?

Phil Rivers (San Diego)

PK, do you think Bill Polian would ever waste a year of Manning's prime by not taking care of his number one wideout and left tackle's contracts? I mean, we probably can still win the putrid west, but not the whole thing. Yes, I just said putrid.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:18 PM)

Well, Polian doesn't have a true left tackle to take care of. But I get your point and I agree it feels like a wasted chance.

RIck (ALASKA)

Do u think the colts might look into getting Marcus McNeil from the chargers?? there was a bunch of talk near the draft about it, but with peyton needed to get paid and a potential lock out next season. they are saying all bets are off...we need someone like McNeil to protect that blind side...we could move Johnson back to a Guard position.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:21 PM)

Bunch of talk where? We have to judge the source. There was a bunch of talk that MJD had knee surgery, but he DID NOT. Please, please, please consider where stuff comes from and whether it's corroborated by people who are regularly correct. I don't for a second believe the Colts ever talked to SD about a McNeil deal. Media folks saying it should happen also doesn't qualify as talks by the people that matter about it actually happening.

Elizabeth (goofing off at work)

How the heck does Finley type so well on an iPhone with paws, and no opposable thumbs??

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:21 PM)

Very talented dog. Is working on a movie script too.

Zac (Franklin)

The Titans claimed 2 LBs off of waivers after cuts. Bigger issue they were looking to fix. Depth at LB or need for special teams players?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:22 PM)

Looking to fix both but probably only fixed teams. They have very shaky depth there right now.

Steven Anacker (San Francisco)

Hi. Since the Texans seem so down on Slaton, have there been any talks of trying to trade him?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:22 PM)

Major jump in thinking and logic by you there.

Andrew (Wichita, KS)

I know that the Titans picked up two LB's for cutting Blount and Keglar. Why would the cut Blount--a RB with some upside? Doesn't that put Tennessee with only two RB's on the roster?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:23 PM)

Blount was not gong to play on Sundays. Why does that not matter to anyone? What good is a third RB who doesn't play special teams therefore can't be active on a Sunday. Oh, the value.

Matt (Boulder)

Bigger loss this week Cushing for Texans or CJohnson(if he cant go) for Colts?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:24 PM)

Tossup. (Weak, I know.)

Steve (Albany NY)

Paul, i know your not a prediction type of guy but who starts Sunday McCourty or Verner?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:24 PM)

McCourty. But they could both play. Which is silly, I think.

Mirza (Denver)

Where do you see the Broncos this season assuming Kyle Orten stays healthy?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:24 PM)

Crumbling.

Derrick Mason (Baltimore)

MR. K i was just dropping by and saw that the titans outer division rival is the steelers, I hate to tell you but you're wrong it's me and my ravens baby!

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:25 PM)

Yeah, for some reason I was in old school mode.

Tom (Houston, TX)

If Houston's D-Line can get a push on the banged up Oline of the Colts this weekend, do you think our diaper wearing secondary will be good enough to hang with the Colts WR's?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:25 PM)

That's the storyline of the game, I expect.

Special Teams (Question)

Are the titans just bad at drafting PR, KR's or unlucky? It seems the jags found 2 good ones in this draft. just curious what the difference is.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:26 PM)

So because the Jags guys were decent in the preseason, they are hits? And Mariani is somehow a already a miss?

Seth (Denver, CO)

Thanks for admitting you were wrong in picking last year's MVP. Care to make another wager? Same stakes?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:26 PM)

Like when he lost the Heisman, I think some voters are tiring of Manning and may want to vote for someone else. And I think Rodgers will be great. But if you are so certain, you take Peyton and give me the field.

James (Otis)

Paul...I think O-lines are overrated. Maybe running backs too. This is a passing league now. If a lineman can pass-block, and a RB can block and catch, then the ground game is secondary. This is why Addai is one of the more valuable (to his team) RBs in the game. Also, if the QB has a quick release, pass blocking need only hold up for a few seconds. Am I crazy?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:27 PM)

A little overboard, yes. And those linemen are the ones pass-blocking, so how overrated can they be?

Bobzilla ((Indy))

How many games you got me penciled in for this year buddy?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:27 PM)

I don't predict injuries, chief.

Jersey Mike's (Nashville)

What's this talk about you going to Firehouse Sub's?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:28 PM)

You are my No. 1. But people need a changeup here and there. And they are closer to my house. I just visited with you Tuesday.

Donnie Nickey (Nashville)

Seriously, why am I still employed? a 6th safety makes more sense than a 3rd RB? Especially after 2 special teams guys were added this week and there's no prayer of me ever playing on defense?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:28 PM)

Because you are a special teamer. I hate special teams, but I sure am finding a lot of people who care about them less than I do.

Jason (Jacksonville)

Do the Jags have the worst secondary in the NFL?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:29 PM)

Worst safeties probably.

Kevin (Ponte vedra beach)

Im a jaguar fan but also a AFC south fan. Say the NFC east isnt as good as everyone thinks, is there a chance the Colts, Titans and Texans making the playoffs and maybe then this division gets some sort of respect and not just the colts? BTW, I hate the respect card but i do think this division gets overlooked.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:30 PM)

There is a chance. And the division gets plenty of respect. Don't you see all the picks of the Texans, for the third or fourth year in a row, for the Texans to make the playoffs. Haven't you heard a lot of us change our thinking on the Titans?

Andrew (Wichita, KS)

PK, I agree with you about Blount being cut if he isn't a special teams factor (something I did not know). Who is the 3rd RB then?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:30 PM)

Hall, the fullback.

Denise (Indy)

if Houston loses on Sunday, impact on their psyche moving forward?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:31 PM)

If it's too big, that's a Kubiak issue. He has to have found the right balance of selling it as being a giant game and one of 16.

Brandon (Indiana)

With the Colts O-Line looking more and more like Swiss cheese, do you think Brody Eldridge is going to play an even bigger role than previously expected?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:31 PM)

Yup. Post on that coming after chat.

Taylor (Philadelphia)

How about the Bills? If any team has more reason to hate the Titans, I haven't seen it.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:32 PM)

Titans might be Bills' biggest non-division rival but it certainly doesn't go the other direction after MCM 'avenged' that playoff collapse in the big picture.

Joe (University of Missouri!!)

Tough flex question here. Jahvid Best, Jonathon Stewart, or Wes Welker?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:32 PM)

I love Best. He's my third RB and locked in. But first week, I say play the guys you drafted to start.

Adam (Louisville, KY)

You're right, I think your squinty eyes conned me into thinking you were a credible source. Do you foresee Garcon's production being down early due to lack of preseason game time? Or is this a non-issue?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:33 PM)

If he's not productive, that won't be why.

Clay (Nashville)

How many non blacked out games in a row would the Jags need to have the national media to quit taking shots at them.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:33 PM)

Probably more than they get.

Chris (Tampa FL)

I was wondering with all the running backs the Buccaneers have now and just releasing Ward, why would they go and pick up another back in Blount, who has caused nothing but trouble since his incident with his college team last year. Shouldnt they be trying to find a Receiver to be a deep threat.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:34 PM)

Caused nothing but trouble? He had a practice fight like a lot of guys. He was fine. I confess I don't know much about the Bucs third-stringers.

EK (my cube)

so you really think Cushing from key west to whatever it was you said better than Darryl Smith? I think I will take Darryl Smith any day over a hyped up steroid freak

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:35 PM)

I don't make the rules. I just watch guys who play on Sundays play. And Cushing is a better player in my opinion,. More impactful. Don't get caught up in the emotion of who your team is or the suspension. Look at the football.

Kevin (Louisiana)

How you ever seen another fan base cry so much over the cutting of an undrafted player with an angry management problem?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:35 PM)

I've not been in too many other markets. But in NY, DC, LA, Oakland and Houston, never.

Tom Brady (Boston)

Is my team's run of success slowly coming to an end?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:36 PM)

It's all on the defense.

Chris (Houston)

Any word on possible additions to Texans D- or O-lines? They would benefit from some more strength/girth up the middle on either side. (I realize that the zone blocking scheme prefers agility to size. I am simply afraid Myers does not hold-up consistently enough).

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:36 PM)

Addition time has passed, at least until Monday. Teams are installing game plans for who they have right now.

marinejld (Planet Earth)

Why would you think Fisher would play both Verner and McCourty - I mean doesn't that go against the Fisher philosophy of having loyalty to his starters? I could see if the game was out of reach for the Raiders and in the 4th qtr him switching up some...but the preseason is over time to have your every-down-cb out there...

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:36 PM)

Also, you slow the growth of one at the expense of the other. Choose, man. Change later if you need to.

Steve (Albany NY)

my thoughts exactly on McCourty starting over Verner. We all know Fisher's loyalty issues in the past.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:37 PM)

I don't think McCourty is a bad player. In fact, I like him.

Alan Spence (crystal river. fl)

What are the Browns biggest weakness they need to address to be play-off contenders?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:38 PM)

Start at quarterback.

RoscoHawk (Nashville)

Hey Paul. Do you think the Titans have any reservations about the amount of touches for CJ? Are they just going to ride him as much as possible? And do you put any stock into the "he never takes big hits" statement? Thanks

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:40 PM)

They want to manage it better and they will. But they are on board with that no big hits thinking too. I'd ride him as much as you can while still getting the same guy in January if you're playing then.

Gonzo (Indianapolis)

Paul, which do you value more in your WRs, great route running and sure hands (me) OR speed with ok hands (Garcon)?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:41 PM)

A. But you need some speed somewhere. And if Garcon pulls people deeper for Wayne/ Clark/ Addai/ Collie/ Addai and you, the whole offense benefits.

Reggie Nelson (Cincy)

Do the Bengals actually know how bad I am?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:41 PM)

Apparently not.

Kenny Britt (Snookis house,Jersey Shore)

Will my off the field problems affect my play like Griffin did last season?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:41 PM)

I can't imagine it'd be to the same degree. And I don't think Britt is distracted by personal stuff as much as Griffin has ben or is.

Peyton Manning (Indianapolis)

Today's chat is extremely busy and is a lot more difficult to get a question to you than over the summer. We haven't been communicating well and I feel left in the dark.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:42 PM)

Give me a call when I close this and we can sort it out.

Colts' O-Line (Indy)

Hey, Paul. Are we better or worse than we were last year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:42 PM)

Worse. I liked Lilja. And Johnson's injury is a concern right now.

Tony (United Kingdom)

Will Derek Andersen effect Larry Fitzgerald's numbers this year. Possibly ruin the Cardinals Defense?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:43 PM)

Fitzgerald won't be as good with that quarterback difference, I don't think.

Tony Brown (Pool and Spa Depot hot tub)

Am I really hurt or just out of shape?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:43 PM)

You look fit to me.

Jim (Richmond, Va.)

Who do you see getting more time Verner or McCourty? And do you think they will switch off all year or will Fisher find a starter mid-season?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:44 PM)

No way do they switch off all year. More now? McCourty.

EK (my cube)

Cushing has played for one yr, Smith has been making tackles since Cushing has been a skinny kid as a freshman at USC. smith has played MLB, OLB, DE (at times), in a 4 - 3 and a 3 - 4, he always has over 100 tackles a yr.. Cushing has done it once, and he was juicying. shouldn't you give it a couple of yrs to say he's better than Smith by half the globe?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:45 PM)

That's all great. By your rationale then, no young guy is allowed to be judged as better than a productive veteran?

Jimbo (Ohio)

Is Haynesworth worth looking at for another squad? He appears out of shape and sloth like.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:45 PM)

You're not opening your eyes apparently. He's as skinny as he's been in a long time.

Ben (Nashville)

Paul - I have read that Derrick Morgan hasn't gotten the practice time and reps that are needed to really be a factor this year but then I hear the Titans say that he is NFL ready. I guess it is good to go with what the team thinks but what is your opinion?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:46 PM)

I think he's the kind of guy, based on what I saw in preseason work, who can overcome loss of work in camp and produce. Teams don't judge a guy at the end of camp and stick with it. It constantly evolves.

Harish (Fargo, ND)

Everyone is talking up the colts defense, but i havent seent anything in the preseason to suggest anything. I know its the pre-season, but they cant let the pack lit them up.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:47 PM)

Why can't they? I think it's on record that they did. I read nothing into it. I think they'll be pretty good on D, actually.

Craig G. (Newcastle, Washington)

Hey Paul, do you have any faith in Kenny Britt being the Titans #3 playmaker after Chris Johnson and Vince Young?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:48 PM)

Not this week. But by midseason, yes I do.

Adam (Cookeville, TN)

Do you see McCourty and Verner on the field at the same time with Verner in a nickle or safety roll? His knack for being around the football makes one want to have him on the field.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:49 PM)

Here we go. So now we're taking Vincent Fuller, a very good veteran nickel, off the field because we were excited by preseason picks?

craig (gainesville, ga)

Are the Colts depending on the health of Bob Sanders to much seeing that he has been hurt every season the past few seasons.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:49 PM)

They hope he's out there. If he's not, they know Bullitt can play well in that spot and they can still win.

brent (baltimore)

carolina...playoff fringe team or cellar dweller?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:50 PM)

B.

Brendan (Tallahassee)

What kind of impact does Tyson Alualu have this year on the Jacksonville D-Line

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:50 PM)

I think he's going to be good, maybe the biggest impact rookie in the division early on.

EK (my cube)

an extremelly productive veteran, no.. This is the same as if Bradford has 3500yds passing 30 tds and 15 ints at the end of the year and saying he is better than Phillip Rivers.. he may become better, but after one year I don't think you can be sure, especially if that year is tainted by steroid use

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:52 PM)

If you're equating Smith to Rivers we're not even in the same conversation. And don't come with PFF. That's one site. One group of guys. Not written in granite or blood. Smith is very good. I am not insulting him.

VICTOR (BRONCO LAND DENVER)

Paul- I am not sure on who will do better this week Jeramy Maclin of the Eagles or Mike Williams of the Seahwks whats your take?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:52 PM)

I don't have one, but because you won't stop asking, here's your question. I don't generally do game predictions or fantasy lineups unless I have a super strong feeling.

Adam (Cookeville, TN)

Where was RTC this morning?I like to start my day at the office with a quick look around the division.

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:53 PM)

Some days it just doesn't happen for me. If there are other posts asking to be written, I step to the line, gesticulate and scream and call and audible.

Charlie (Nashville)

You hear that??? That's the sound of the pain train, Pauly. Can we get some new material on the jumbo-matron at LP Field already or get rid of some of it at the very least?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:53 PM)

I love the screamer who does guess the temperature. Who thinks she sounds good?

Adam (Louisville, KY)

How head-scratching was the decision to release Lilja now? I was optimistic the two veterans brought in and Jacques from the draft would be an upgrade, but with Terry cut and the other two in backup roles, was the decision a bit wreckless in hindsight?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:54 PM)

Seems so.

Edgerrin James (Ballerland,Florida)

Can the Colts finish 3rd in the AFC south of the Titans and Texans get hot this year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:55 PM)

Seriously doubt it. Outside of O-line, Colts are better than last season.

Jim (Richmond, Va.)

Do you think Chris Johnson will live up to his 2,500 yard season expectation? And is he beginning to get a little too cocky?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:56 PM)

No problem with the goal setting. Worked great for him last season. But I expect 1,500 or 1,600.

Mark (FT Knox KY)

This may have been answered before, but promsed my dad would ask, why didn't the Bengals but WR Bryant on the PUP/or IR. He's still young..

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:56 PM)

Would still have been paying him.

Rex Ryan (NY)

Want to have a snack?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:57 PM)

Sure. What do we have?

Tom (FL)

What do you think of Anthony Smith and Sean Considine as Jacksonville's safties?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:57 PM)

Really bad.

Anthony (Gonzalez)

Do you think Peyton is going to put me in my place after my comments about not getting "a fair shot?" What do you think? Should I play?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:57 PM)

You're going to play. People are goiog overboard on this too. You think he's not going to dress or get on the field?

Blaine Bishop (DA weight room)

Can Myron Rolle replace Hope in a few years?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:58 PM)

Nope. Doesn't run well enough.

Clay (Jax)

In response to your reply about how many non-blackouts will the Jags need to get out of the National Media's wrath. Just wanted to point out that BigCatCountry is reporting that the first 5 games will NOT be blacked out. That leaves the remaining three and work to be done, but a good start none the less. Wha say you PK?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:59 PM)

A very good start. But If the Jags are not good the Browns and Raiders probably won't be the giant draws they have earlier.

Victor A (Temecula CA)

Hi Paul: What do you think will be more dissapointing on the Bears, their offense or their defense?

Paul Kuharsky
  (3:59 PM)

A tie.

Michael (Nashville)

Which titans are playing for contracts this year?

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:00 PM)

All of them.

Nate (Indy)

Here's the shaky issue with the O-line: the Colts are playing with fire. Yeah, they're better *except* for the O-line, but all it takes is one guy to get through and Peyton goes down like Tom Brady. A weaker O-line is dangerous business. I'd trade Reggie Wayne and our next two #1's for Michael Oher in a second.

Paul Kuharsky
  (4:00 PM)

Agree with your broad point. But that trade is quite pricey. They should have found a way to get a legit, franchise LT.

Bree (LA)

I hate your articles and your blog. Surprisingly, I like your videos. You seem less angry.

Well thank you very much. I need to do a video for tomorrow.

What teams did the Dreaded Coin Flip pick for this week?

I'll never tell. If you haven't joined, please do. Look back at the blog for details on our pick pool. And get a friend to join too...

Odds the Titans try to trade for OAK LB Thomas Howard next week? Would he potentially start if acquired, and who would he displace once McRath returns from suspension?

Paul Kuharsky

Possible. He would displace a LB right away -- Allred/Winborn or one of the new guys. Then we'd have to see.

Great opening week chat PK, looking forward to another great season of the AFC South Blog and you making new readers upset with your sarcastic/blunt answers.

Thanks Adam. On that note, it's a wrap. I'm waiting for Brice McCain to call. Enjoy the games everyone!
