Sixty minutes of fantasy chattage is ready to come your way. Plenty to talk about, so let's not dilly-dally any longer. Second cup of coffee in hand... Who is up first?
Who should QB this week: Brady or Romo?
I'd start Romo this week. Brady and the Jets is a much more volatile matchup than going up against the Bears.
Should I start Brees or Vick?
Obviously Brees is the wiser play... Vick is a far better candidate for success as a change of pace to Kolb - I'm not convinced he can do amazing things as a starter.
Should I rely on any of the Saints receivers or are they too inconsistent?
I think as a whole, they are very consistent -- the problem is that there are so many of them who get targeted throughout a particular game. That's what makes them "unreliable" in terms of fantasy.
Should I be worried about Nicks? He has a late start. Should I start Gaffney or Naanee over him?
I think Nicks will play, and I think the Giants will be throwing the ball often. So I'm not worrying, but I think Gaffney is still the better play.
Better defense this week. Giant or 49ers?
Giants. I would not want to be anywhere near Mike Singletary after Week 2 is done.
Who should I play at my flex? Breaston or Slaton?
"C'mon man!" Breaston.
Will Foster blow up again? Or start McCoy against Buffalo? Thanks
No, and no. I don't think Foster will ever have a game like that again, but he still could get you 100. McCoy is playing Detroit, and the run will be high on the list of things to stop there. I'd avoid him.
I AM WES WELKER
Maybe so, but Sam Bradford is not yet Tom Brady. A flex play at best.
Who will be better long term - ahmad bradshaw or jerome harrison
Bradshaw and it's not even close. Browns do not like Harrison and will only begrudgingly play him if Hillis fumbles away the chance to become the No. 1.
Baseball question: Drop an injured player who may or may not contribute down the stretch (Rollins, Hamilton) to see if someone else picks him up and drops a player who's better than what's on the waiver wire now? Seems low-risk. This may be brilliant, or it may be Bad Idea Jeans
In a non-keeper league, I'd say it's NO risk. Zeroes won't help you rise up the standings.
Will I ever develope chemistry with David Garrard
I think you need to be patient here... Thomas got far more targets and it one of those deals where once defenses start paying attention to him over MSW, then MSW might be more open...
marshawn to green bay?
Don't think Lynch moves. He should have been gone already. I think the Bills are terrified that Spiller doesn't pan out and Fred gets hurt again.
Been struggling with this all week: How much FAAB (%) are you willing to drop on BJax in a 12 team PPR w/flex? I'm seriously considering moving ALL IN!
You can have him... while I don't think the Lynch deal happens, those rumors didn't emerge by accident. The Packers are looking around, and I'm not sure 100 percent of FAAB should be spent on a guy who isn't "the guy" in the mind of his team.
Why doesn't Anthony Fasano get any TE love? He is way better than Keller!
I disagree on the way better part, and you have to look at the offense he's in... Ronnie Brown runs the ball and nearly all the passes will head Marshall's way. Keller is going to get more looks b/c that's how the Jets gameplan.
KC defense; tricky play this week, or should I stick with the Ravens?
With Delhomme's status up in the air, I go with the Chiefs, especially if you get the McCluster returns added to the mix.
Does Harvin get on the same page as Favre this week?
I'm not sure Harvin gets on the same field as Favre this week. I'm steering clear.
Am I gonna play this week?
My guess is no. It's never a good sign when a player has LESS practice as the week goes on.
Which Mike Williams you going with this weekend?
I'm a Syracuse man... gotta go with the TB one.
i just traded todd heap and jacoby jones for keller and clayton. who do you think got the better deal?
He did. I don't think the Heap injury is that serious and Jacoby is ready to take that next step.
Mathews, B. Jax or Foster this week?
Foster, without question. Didn't love what I saw from Mathews, even given the conditions and Packers are too pass-happy.
Do you watch The League?
Saw the first season... amusing, but they need to add a few owners...
Would you trade Mike Williams (Sea) for Greg Camarillo?
No, especially not until we know for sure where Vincent ends up.
Collie or Mike Williams (TB) ?
I think Collie and Garcon are going to be the death of fantasy owners - one will have a great week, and then the other the next, and you'll never be able to predict which one it will be.
Is picking up Greg Olsen or John Carlson an upgrade over Winslow or Daniels at TE?
Why all the Daniels hate? Give the man some time to get his game legs underneath him and wait for the Texans to actually have a game they need to throw the ball.
Any sleepers you still are keeping your eye on in week 2?
Always keep your eyes on the sleepers... I'm very interested in seeing who emerges as WR3 in Arizona, as Doucet is not ever going to be the answer. And if Michael Robinson gets 5-8 touches this week, he may well be on his way to RB2 in Seattle.
who are your top 3 sleeper def.
For this week? Detroit, Cleveland and Denver.
I need to make up ground in my fantasy baseball playoffs, and am starting to stream pitchers to make up ground in strikeouts and bring down my 9.50 ERA. Is Chris Young too dangerous to start tomorrow, or potential surprise?
Way too dangerous... first start back against Albert and Holliday? No thanks. I do hope he goes six injury-free, but beyond that...
Speaking of the League you kinda look like Andre. LT, Beanie, Ricky Williams or Thomas Jones this week and going forward.... Grant left me hurting.
May I recommend you go with LDT this week and going forward. May I also recommend a trip to the eye doctor, for I look far more like Kevin.
You've convinced me to drop J Upton or Josh Hamilton... but I'm not sure which one to part with, I've got the room to stash 1, but the 0 from the other is killing me... Thanks.
I'd say cut Upton, given the standings - the Rangers will continue to hope Hamilton will return, while the same can't be said in Upton's case.
Please explain to me why you are considered a "fantasy expert"? It seems like you answer the obvious questions ala "who to start Vick or Brees" and ignore the tough ones. I bet you've never played a down of football and prob. don't unstand a basic playbook. All your so called "inside information" is rumors brought to you by other media friends who are just looking to develop a story out of nothing. I don't find you to be creditable and this will be the last time i enter one of your chats.
You're right Jimbo. I quit. You can take over.
Instead of comparisons, how about listing your top 5 or so RBs for the week in order?
AP, CJ, S-Jax, Gore and Rice. It's Week 2. I'm not jumping ship on any of these guys.
Jimbo sounds creditable
With a name like Jimbo, it has to be right
Lee Evans or Devin Aromashodu? Jabar Gaffney or Dwayne Bowe?
Aromashadu. He's the most likely one to emerge as the No. 1 in Chicago and we know they're going to throw. Bowe will have some good days, but Cassel really puts a ceiling on his value I go Gaffney for now.
To make an actual point from Jimbo's ridiculousness, how much to you rely upon matchup stats when you rank, given that they so often have tiny sample sizes?
It's hard to factor in matchups in the first two weeks of a season, but even after just three games, the defensive rankings really don't change all that much for the rest of the season...
Interesting mention of Michael Robinson. Where'd you learn he may become a become a significant part of Seattle's offense?
Haven't "learned it anywhere" not even from my "media friends" -- however, the team barely decided to keep Julius Jones, they clearly don't trust Justin Forsett and when you watch how Pete Carroll beams every time Robinson comes to the sidelines, you just get the feeling he's going to earn more and more playing time.
Pick one to sit: Brandon Marshall, Wes Welker, Santana Moss, Andre Johnson.
Santana Moss... clearly though, you play in a six-team league.
AJ, your gut on Jahvid Best: Will he do some damage on the ground or will it be garbage time dump downs I"m hoping for?
The scores last week certainly made his outing seem better than it really was... without Stafford, I worry about his success for this week.
Is fantasy football becoming too unpredictable? With a few exceptions, most teams are trying to run a balanced attack, spreading the ball to multiple receivers, and going to RBBC. What happened to the good old days of workhorse RBs and legit #1 WRs?
They are indeed going the way of the dinosaur, but to me that's a good thing. In "the old days" if you drafted LDT, you won. Period. Now you actually have to watch games and make decisions each week.
When Santonio comes back from suspension who has more value him or Pierre Garcon?
Overall, it's Santonio, but Garcon will outscore him big time in three weeks. But you'll have no way of predicting those three, so you're safer with Holmes.
Hillis, Forsett or Felix Jones going forward?
Felix. The Cowboys will continue to run the Cerberus offense, and though I think MB3 ends up with the most points, Felix only needs one hole in the O-line to have a huge day.
Upton replacement... need HR/RBI: Ryan Kalish, Pat Burrell or Marcus Thames? Yucky, I know, but sometimes you gotta play in the dirt.
Thames. Seems to hit whenever he starts and the Yankees are going to rotate the OF to make sure they are healthy come October.
Why is everyone ignoring my success last week I had 16 targets and 10 catches for 100+ yards. In a PPR format I am fantasy goodness.
A) No way Bradford continues to throw 55 times a game. B) With Laurent Robinson hurting, the secondary has no other person to focus on. C) You're 50 years old. It's one week - don't go nuts.
How do you prefer week #1 waviers to work: reverse order of draft order or go by reverse order of standings? If the latter, what would be tiebreakers - total points, point differential... Thanks!
A little late for this one, but in general, you should use same as draft order pre-Week 1 and then after Week 1 use reverse order of standings, with total points as the tie-breaker.
Who do you bench this week assuming Nicks plays: S. Smith vs IND, Nicks vs IND, D. Bowe vs CLE, or H. Ward vs Ten?
I bench Bowe. Giants may well throw it 40 times and both receivers could get plenty of points.
Should I trade nannee for cooley? I have Heath miller at tight end.
Don't think it's ever really worth having two TEs. I'd keep Naanee and work the wire.
PPR McCoy or Best?
McCoy, but it's not a decision I'd want to make.
It's 12pm... so it's time to go. We'll be on the air on ESPN Radio in Pittsburgh in the 2pm hour, and as always, the Twitter is there for you... until the next time, good luck with your teams, and may the love of Jimbo be with you all.
