Country music star Kenny Chesney will be here shortly to take your questions!
Hi Kenny! I had a brother who had to quit playing high school football due to a heart condition and it took him years to get past it. How did it feel for you playing your last high school game?
I realized that my life was going to change as I knew it, because me and my friends collectively had been doing one thing together since we were six. None of us were going to play college. We knew that our last game was our last name. I think that's what makes that time in your life so special.
Kenny who is your favorite professional football player?
I say I enjoy watching Drew Brees as much as anybody. I have a lot of friends in the game. I enjoy watching the way Drew puts his team on his back.
what was it like to practice with the new orleans saints
It was a dream come true to be in the huddle with Brees, Bush, Shockey and all those guys. Sean Payton is a good friend of mine and he allowed me to do that. It was a huge thrill to run out and catch passes from Drew Brees. It was awesome.
KennyWhat is your thoughts on the subject of a NFL LOCKOUT next year?
I think it's unfortunate. There are so many components to why this is happening and I don't really understand them, so it's tough to comment on it one way or another. It's not just about the money but about them being taken care of. I don't want it to happen, but I tihnk it will.
How did you come up with the idea for the documentary?
The whole thing started with the song Boys of Fall and how much it represented and how much we leaned on football in the town I grew up in. All of the life lessons, I wanted to show how many of them you got at a young age. I was fortunate to get a lot of the great minds in this game to be a part of it.
So how many stadiums are you planning to play in 2011?
We're still finalizing the tour, but it will be several.
Being a big Saints fan, how do you think Reggie Bush being out for so long is going to affect the Saints chances for getting another Super Bowl Championship? And..... thanks for the new music and NSR as well as giving us the preview of the album!!!!
Any time you lose a player like Reggie Bush, an athlete like Reggie Bush, it's going to effect your team. But if there is one team that's deep enough to overcome that, it's the Saints. They have a lot of great athletes, great coach. If there is one team that can overcome it, it's them.
hey Kenny!! so glad to see you feeling refreshed and recharged. I live in chicago, but am a Dallas fan. Bears vs Greenbay tonite...who do u favor?
I've played Soldier Field a couple of times. The energy in that stadium for a show is unbelievable. I can only imagine what it's like for an opposing team to play in there. The people of Chicago love to have a great time. Becuase of the homefield advantage, I think the Bears will win.
do you play fantasy football?
I have never played. Ever. I don't know the first thing about it. I don't have the time to play. I wish I did.
Kenny - would you be open to performing at halftime of the SuperBowl?
I'm not sure. A lot of people have talked about that. It would be an honor to be asked. It sure does seem like a lot of pressure. So, I might. Who knows what the future holds. But who wouldn't want to?
Kenny do you think your video "BOYS OF FALL" will become the anthem for monday night football one day?
I don't know. It's too early to tell. I know it's getting played just about every Friday night all across the country, people have told me. I was in the Superdome yesterday and I heard it as the guys were warming up. There is no feeling like that knowing you've connected with so many people.
Do you think your boy can repeat as a super bowl champion?
It's tough. I'm not sure. Now there are injuries to deal with. There are a lot of things that have to add up. I feel like the Saints are as talented as any team. If they get a break, they can do it. The reason the loss yesterday stung so much, those things add up when it comes to homefield advantage. If the Saints can get a couple of home games in the playoffs, then they can get a shot to repeat.
kenny i want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the song boys of fall i was in the school band playing trumpet and boys of fall has brought back alot of memories for me and as a former cheerleader too also i like to know what was your experience like meeting jim tressel
Jim Tressel is an incredibly passionate person. You can see why he is so respected and why his team and past teams look up to him so much. He cares about people and tradition and more than the game. If I were a kid and he came into my living room asking me to play for OSU, it would be hard not to.
Thanks! See you soon!
