Bill Williamson
  (2:01 PM)

Hi everyone, let's get rolling. By the way, I have to cut things a tad short at 2:45 ET today.

Robert (Forty Fort Pa)

bill,do you thing the cheifs are just that good or are they just in a easy part of there schedule, my observation is they have a pour offence, and there strong on D, and special teams thats how there winning i think we wait to see when they play there division like the raiders.

Bill Williamson
  (2:02 PM)

I don;t think they are "just that" good yet. I think they are a work in progress that is learning hwo to win. So far, so good.

Robert (Forty Fort Pa)

Bill,I strongly beleve that the raiders are on the cusp of being a great AFC West team the coachs are in place we have a good quaterback, a talented D, what i have noticed in the last 3 games is minor set backs which i think will be fixed by week 5, whats your thoughts on how you see the raiders season going?

Bill Williamson
  (2:03 PM)

Honestly, I don't see a greta team. i see a team that is very sloppy and has a long way to go. But they could be respectable by the end of the year.

Chris (Lee's Summit, MO)

Hey Bill, with an extra week to prepare for the Colts, what do you think the chances are that the Chiefs beat the Colts?

Bill Williamson
  (2:04 PM)

The extra week will help, but this will be a major uspet if the Chifs win at Indy.

Mike (Jacksonville)

Do you think Denver is mishandling Tebow? Has there ever been a team that changed backup QB's from week to week? Seems weird.

Bill Williamson
  (2:05 PM)

I just think it's a game-plan thing. But, I agree, uusally teams pick a backup and stick with him, especially if it is a young guy like Tebow.

Bill Williamson
  (2:05 PM)

Scott (Kansas)

Which of the following has had more to do with KC's success so far this year, and why? Charlie Weis, Romeo Crennel, or Todd Haley.

Bill Williamson
  (2:07 PM)

I think they are all connected. Haley can really trust his coordinators and that helps the entire program.

Scott (Kansas)

Should the Chiefs try to utilize McCluster more? and how?

Bill Williamson
  (2:08 PM)

I think they are in the proces of doing that. He is a big wepaon and I think you will see more and more of him.

adkjani (Fargo, ND)

Bill, my dad is an Oakland native and diehard Raiders fan who lives in Minnesota. He's turning 75 and I want to take him to see Oakland at either KC or Denver. Both are equidistant from us. Which would you recommend we attend for the ultimate fan experience. Thanks!

Bill Williamson
  (2:10 PM)

Both wll be great as far as atmosphere goes. If the Chiefs keep up their pace, that game may be more intense. But I don't think you can lose either way ... Happy B-Day to your dad.

Jason (Harrisburg, PA)

Do you think Oakland should stick with Gradkowski against the Texans, or should they give Campbell another shot to redeem himself?

Bill Williamson
  (2:10 PM)

No, this is Gradkowksi's job. You can't bounce back and forth.

chip (pittsburgh)

Oakland seems to be sticking with Gradkowski what is going to happen to Campbell?

Bill Williamson
  (2:11 PM)

He's a pretty good backup at this point. Probably a mad and confused backup, but a good oen all the same.

Rich (Columbia, MD)

Bill, if you had to pick one defensive player on each of the four teams to "plan for", who would you concentrate on as a Offensive Coordinator.

Bill Williamson
  (2:13 PM)

Den: BaileyKC: HaliOak: AsomughaSD: Jammer

JB (Dunmore, PA)

BW - What is going on with Tebow? He hasn't really been given any role in that offense!

Bill Williamson
  (2:14 PM)

They tried to use him in Week 1 and not much happeend, so they kind of scrapped it for now. But you never know when he'l be used again.

ZEKE (San Jose)

Never saw Campbell as a fit in Oak, he needs a decent OL to succeed. So, do you trade him to AZ where I think he's a much better fit and, if so, what do you want in return?

Bill Williamson
  (2:15 PM)

The Raiders didn't give up much for him, so they wouldn't harldy anything at all in return for him now that he is a backup.

eric (reno)

Those Chargers always seem to start off "slow" but this year the Chiefs look good. Can the Chargers come back or can the Chiefs hold them back?

Bill Williamson
  (2:18 PM)

Until proven otherwise, the four-time defending AFC West champion Chargers have to be considered dangerous.

If the Chargers turn things around and well again in the regular season and bust in the post season how secure is Norv Turner's job?

Bill Williamson
  (2:18 PM)

He think he'll be fine.

Mike (San Diego)

This is an important 3 game stretch for the Raiders. They have two home games against Houston and San Diego then a "road" game against the 49ers. I feel the Raiders need to pretty much go 2-1 in this stretch to save their season and their head coach. Your thoughts Bill?

Bill Williamson
  (2:19 PM)

I can't disagree.

Tim (CO)

So, no Tebow until next year?

Bill Williamson
  (2:22 PM)

I think we see him now and again.

Will Matt Cassel finally live up to his contract this year?

Bill Williamson
  (2:23 PM)

His game Game 3 performance was a nice indication he is capable of it.

J (TX)

Do you think Chiefs have enough talent to pull off the similar game plan that got Sean Payton the win against the Colts in SB last year?

Bill Williamson
  (2:24 PM)

Do they have the same talent as the Saints?

Mustafa (monterey)

In you opinion who is best RB in the division this year and top 5 WR's in the division this year (so far)

Bill Williamson
  (2:27 PM)

Right now, the best RB is McFadden.Right now, the top recivers, in no order, Floyd, Naanne, Davis, Murphy, Bowe, Lloyd, Gaffney and Thomas. Watch out for McCluster.

Jon (Charlottesville, VA)

General/specific question. How much can teams improve during their bye week? How much can the Chiefs improve their passing game during the bye week?

Bill Williamson
  (2:29 PM)

It gives them an extra week to just focus on woking on fundamentals and getting healthy without the pressure of game planning.

Brian (Seattle)

At this point don't you think it is realistic that at worst the Chiefs will be 6-2 half way through the season? Even if they lose their next two, you have to like their chances at home against the Jags and Bills and then at the Raiders.

Bill Williamson
  (2:32 PM)

Remember last year when Denver was 6-0 last year? Yes, so it's a exercise in futility in playing this game.

robert (forty fort Pa)

Bill,What your thoughts on this weeks game Raiders Texens you think we have a chance with this being grads second game and the Texans weak secondary?

Bill Williamson
  (2:34 PM)

Yes, Houston is beatable. The key is stopping Houston on offense and not making dumb mistakes.

Jared (Las Vegas)

After the 3-0 start for the Chiefs, does anybody look smarter than Football Outsiders?

Bill Williamson
  (2:35 PM)

They're pretty smart.

Keelo (Seattle)

Huge Raiders fan,I bleed Silver and Black!!Do you think if the Raiders clean up their turnover and penalties and continue to play balanced on both sides of the ball, what are our odds to make a playoff push with a tough upcoming schedule?

Bill Williamson
  (2:37 PM)

This is ateam that has won 30 games since 2003.Let's worry about getting on the right track before talking playoffs.

Chris (Houston)

Bill, I still see the KC Chiefs as a 9-7 team. In your experience, can fans ever relish in the direction the team is going without being angry about not being in the playoffs/superbowl? This is a work in progress, not a quick fix...

Bill Williamson
  (2:38 PM)

A team that has been struggling,a winning season is a very solid goal with hope for the future.

Eric (Branson)

Are the wins against the chargers and 49ers qualtiy wins? If so why are the Chiefs ranked so low?

Bill Williamson
  (2:39 PM)

Sure, they are quality wins. I think think the voters just don't believe. But who cares? All you have to worry about is that fact that the Chiefs are 3-0 and lead the AFC West by two games. That's all that matters.

hatham (dallas, tx)

if the broncos continue to loose will josh mccdaniels get fired this season

Bill Williamson
  (2:40 PM)

Nah, I think he is safe through next year.

Tyler (South Dakota)

hey Bill I love the blog. Do you think that in a few years maybe when Vrable is done playing, the Chiefs will try to get him on their coaching staff?

Bill Williamson
  (2:41 PM)

Thanks for the kind words, sure, I could see it. If Vrabel wants to put in the long hours, I could see him being a fine coach.

Steve (SD)

Why aren't the Chargers utilizing Sproles more? He has a total of 10 carries this season.

Bill Williamson
  (2:43 PM)

Not sure. They are paying him a ton. Thye need to use him. He's a terrific weapon.

Steven (San Mateo)

Which team misses their star receiver more-Denver (Marshall) or the Chargers (VJax)?

Bill Williamson
  (2:44 PM)

Well, Orton threw for 476 and Rivers threw for 455 last week So ....

Kimo G (Discovery Bay, CA)

Bill why is everyone bagging on the Raiders O line when right now after 3 games the Run Game is ranked 3rd and passing 19th? And could climb even higher!!

Bill Williamson
  (2:45 PM)

Well, it almost got Campbell killed. But it is better in run proecttion and Gradkowski is dealing with the poor pass protection.

Bill Williamson
  (2:46 PM)

Thanks everyone, talk to you next week.
