Hang on folks. We're trying to track down Mark now.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:26 PM)

Sorry for being late everyone...I was watching the Nationwide Series practice here at Charlotte and just lost track of the time...again my apologies....and let's get this partaaaaayyyyy started!

Scott (NY)

Hey Guru, in a work pool picking 5th this week who should I hope to get in that spot?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:28 PM)

I'm figuring Johnson and Kurt Busch might be the top-two picks...then I'm guess Gordon, Kyle Busch, then maybe either Biffle, Stewart or Edwards...If Stewart is available take him...I'm smelling he's on a roll and could make things interesting in the championship chase.....something else that might help you...here's my pre-race top-30....1.Tony Stewart2.Jimmie Johnson3.Kurt Busch4.Kyle Busch5.Jeff Gordon6.Carl Edwards7.Denny Hamlin8.Clint Bowyer9.Greg Biffle10.Kevin Harvick11.Ryan Newman12.Kasey Kahne13.Matt Kenseth14.Jeff Burton15.Juan Pablo Montoya16.A.J. mike p (danbury ct)

hi mark good afternoon.thanks for your time to match the guys that i had left to the up coming tracks. thank god i didnot go the 17 route, went with the 29.you helped me win last year and you can do the same this year.now you have the 14 for this race ,my only concern is bonus points which we get for quli, and leading laps.now harvick did either but finished top ten which is great. you told me to go with 14 this week,martins=hamlin=dega=1 texas=burton=phonix=39homestead=29 which is triple points race in your heart and guru mind do you think harvick will quli top ten led laps and be able to win at homestead or would you pick stewart were he won and led laps and qulif in top ten stewart would have won last year if him and montoya didnot crash. who would you pick for chalotte and homestead?thanks mike torn between charloote and homestead everything else is great to go.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:31 PM)

I wouldn't expect Harvick to qualify top-10 I can tell you that...Stewart might be a better pick in that regard but remember if he's in the Championship hunt Tony might have to spend the day playing careful at Homestead and not going all out..still the way he's running now Stewart might be the better guy to go with in that last race...as far as Charlotte goes think about Kurt or Kyle Busch if you can't go with Johnson.

Nick Rolando (Orlando)

Mark, pre-lim for Charlotte is 18-33-9-98, however I have one start left with 9 and am thinking of switching either 17 and/or 39 in for 9 and/or 33, should I? Also, who you like more 18, 11, 99, 16 or 24?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:33 PM)

Kahne will be a nice pick for this race but Newman has been rock solid lately..no threat to win but almost automatic top-10...but Bowyer is really running good and I expect a good performance out of him Saturday night...as for the five cars you listed I like the 18 the best.

YC Mike (USA)

Mr Guru!! Keep up the good work. I have Stewart one more time...Should I use him now for Charlotte or next week in Martinsville?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:35 PM)

I think Tony is going to be very, very good this weekend but you can hold the pick and I'm not even sure I would use it at Martinsville either...He'll have a number of places he'll also be strong at coming up like Texas, Phoenix, Homestead and since he's a great plate racer Talladega too.

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

Who do you think will win the Dollar General 300 & the Bank of America 500 from Charlotte?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:35 PM)

I thinking Kyle Busch on Friday night and Tony Stewart on Saturday.

Bobby (Ohio)

Hey Mark! I am in a yahoo league. If you had two starts left with 48, which tracks would you use him in. And at Talladega, what chasers would you attempt to use if any. Out of Allmendinger and hornish starts, 1 start left with menard, who are the go to guys now in my c list (speed, smith, mears, sorenson).

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:37 PM)

I might use Jimmie this week at Charlotte and maybe next week at Martinsville..these are two races he's sure to let it all hang out...after that depending on the points maybe not...As for the c list drivers Smith had a nice run last week and Mears has turned into a top-25 car.

Julius (NY)

Given his track record at Charlotte, do you see Kasey Kahne making some noise this weekend?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:38 PM)

Yes I do..In the ESPN Stock Car Challenge, I rate him number two among the "B" drivers, second only to Ryan Newman..

dave (ny)

wow did my team blow up last week k on to this week hows this team look 18,9,48,24,20,29,33,1 anybody need go

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:39 PM)

Dave your team looks pretty solid..I wouldn't change anything right now..but might tweek it after qualifying and the final practice.

Daniel (Indiana)

hey mark, out of the following list of drivers, which two would you choose this week: 2, 14, 18, 24 and 48.....

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:39 PM)

I'd go 48 and 14 or 48 and 2.

Steven (TX)

howdy mr. garrow, who are some of your dark-horses/sleepers for the race? I'm liking Logano, Kahne, and maybe even Menard as ones myself, what say you?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:41 PM)

I think you need to put Reutimann in that group along with his teammate Martin Truex,Jr..I also think Mark Martin is finally starting to come around..Kahne is definite top-10 potential..Logano's a possibility with the Menard feeling top-15 at best.

Ryan (Reynoldsburg,Ohio)

Is jimmy better than dale sr.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:42 PM)

He would give big Dale a run for his money no doubt about that...but better hard to say..you could make the arguement Johnson is better all the way around but Earnhardt didn't have many weaknesses either.

RAY GORDON REID ( REIDSVILLE NC 23302)

QUESTION AT 3.25 PM TO MARK GURU GARROW WEDNESDAY GREETINGS GURU WHO DOES THENORTH CAROLINA GURU HAVE FOR CHARLOTTE SATURDAY NIGHT

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:43 PM)

My gut is telling me Tony Stewart wins it and really puts the pressure on Jimmie Johnson.

Matt (Michigan)

Good Afternoon, Guru. During the second to the last lap of the Auto Club race, AJ Allmendinger dropped like a rock from 11th to 17th, then finished 19th. With all the other excitement, I never heard why - do you know? Also, I am guessing that Paul Menard's falling back big-time during the last 10 laps was due to two tires, was that the case? I think Regan Smith was able to hold on with two.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:44 PM)

Sorry Matt don't really know what happened to the 'Dinger...Menard definitely lost the handle with two tires but Smith was able to hold on for a top-15, which says a lot for how fast that car was..and you're welcome!

Andy (Illinois)

Is Biffle wishing now that he had signed with Hendrick/Childress/Whoever else tried to sign him previously?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:45 PM)

Andy..Biffle is a Roush guy head to toe...so I'm thinking that while last week's blown motor made him unhappy overall he's glad to be racing for the Cat in the Hat.

Don (VA)

Who do you see as some of the top qualifiers?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:46 PM)

I think Ryan Newman comes to mind for tomorrow night...I think Johnson will be pretty fast as will the Busch brothers too.

Taylor (TX)

After last week in Fontana, can Kahne and Francis get one more win for RPM this weekend?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:47 PM)

It's possible..Kahne likes this place and really gets around this track..so it's possible..but a non-Chase driver has never won this race.

Ken (Hendersonville)

Mark: I am a little surprised that you do not have Sliced Bread and Kahne a little higher on your Top-30. The 20 and the 9 rank 2nd and 3rd in the points averages for Charlotte. Only JJ is higher.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:48 PM)

Those two were difficult for me this week so I went conservative knowing I can move them up on race day if need be...again both very inconsistent which makes them tough to get a handle on.

Taylor (TX)

Closing in on second straight championship in my Yahoo league, but I have no more starts for AJ or Menard (pleasant surprise this season). The 77 makes me uneasy, the 84 would rather Tweet about his wife...Is Awesome Bill piloting the 21 this weekend? Thoughts on Regan Smith and the 78?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:50 PM)

Awesome Bill is in the 21 this weekend and he should be good for a finish from 17th to 28th..Regan Smith looked really good last week but he's got to do it more than once in awhile..

Matt (Michigan)

Joey Logano finished 5th in this race last year, and his other two finishes in Cup at Charlotte are 9 & 13. With an eleventh place finish last week, he seems a bit heavily weighted in your top 30, at 18th. What are your concerns with him this race? Again, Thank You, Guru!

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:51 PM)

I just have a hard time Matt getting my arms around Joey when it comes to the Sprint Cup Series..he's burned me several times so I have a hard time giving him his due even when he deserves it. It might be rising up the rankings Saturday afternoon.

cote (Sutter Middle School )

little low for burton dont you think? very strong in the fall charlotte race recently

Taylor (TX)

How does this line up sound...a)48,14 b)39,33,1,00, and b)21,78?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:53 PM)

That's true, but he's faded badly in several Chase races..I had a really good feeling about him going into the playoff but something there is missing and I hope they can find it this weekend.

Blaine (MS)

Guru.....Does Jeff Gordon have a shot at winning the cup, he hasn't won a race all year but seems to stay a-top the pack anyway with good finishes all year, will he finally break out and get a win soon?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:58 PM)

Sure he's still got a shot but I don't think he can win it without winning a race..He's got some good tracks coming up..should have won at Texas earlier this year didn't...same thing for Phoenix..and should be pretty race here at Charlotte.

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (3:59 PM)

I hold on to the pick until Burton and company get totally back on the right track..

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (4:00 PM)

I don't know Ken but if someone takes 225 million bucks from you that will leave a mark...lol..

Ryan Ideus (Seward, Nebraska)

I have gordon, johnson, and kyle for my A list drivers. should I add tony in place of one of these 3?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (4:01 PM)

That's a really solid threesome you have Ryan..If I was going to switch with anybody I guess it would be Gordon...but leaving this group alone will still allow you to score a bunch of points..

Matt (Michigan)

Guru, the way you feel about Logano, I feel about Biffle and Burton. I can't get a decent finish out of either, then they come back the next week for a big score....in my book, the "B"'s are for Burn!

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (4:01 PM)

lol....I feel your pain Matt.

cote (Sutter Middle School )

awesome bill or sam hornish?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (4:03 PM)

tough call. I think you can count on Elliott for 25th or better..if he finishes and stays out of trouble Hornish can be top-20..and that's the rub when it comes to Hornish.

Ryan Ideus (Seward, Nebraska)

for the B list guys how does Kahne, and Mark Martin sound. any better choices?

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (4:04 PM)

My top two "B" drivers are Kahne and Newman..then Juan Pablo, Allmendinger and Martin..all should be pretty racy Saturday night.

Ken (Hendersonville)

Just announced: David Pearson is in the HOF

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (4:05 PM)

Thank goodness...would have been riot if he didn't make it this time...

Mark "Guru" Garrow
  (4:07 PM)

Got to run folks..sorry again for being a little late..love to watch race cars go around in circles..Our chat Saturday afternoon will start at 3:30 eastern..so please join us then..until then have a great week and may the force be with you...Take care everyohne...The Guru has left the building!
