Happy Halloween-een-een. Lots of spooky questions to get to... Second cup of hemlock in hand... Who's up first?
AJ, Happy Halloween! I have Felix Jones, Marshawn Lynch, Jahvid Best, and Rashard Mendenhall. Would I be crazy to sit Mendenhall this week?
I don't like any of those backs more than Rashard this week, except possibly for Felix.
Hey AJ, I'm on the fence with Romo. Should I stash him for the playoffs or dump him. Do you think we'll even see Romo again this season? I mean, they're pretty much out of playoff contention -- why bring him back and risk further injury. What do you think? Oh, and SJax or Best in PPR format? Thanks
I doubt Romo returns for the fantasy playoffs, unless somehow Kitna leads them to a 6-0 record, and if he does that, then again I would doubt that they make a switch back to Romo. I do think he may see some Week 16-17 action if the cards fall right, but in a non-keeper I trade him and let him become someone else's gamble. S-Jax for me this week.
Will Donald Brown be trick or treating this week....or should I go with that scary Blount fellow!!!!
I think since Brown is a Monday night game, he is too risky to go with, even though ultimately I think the extra day off helps him. I'd take my chances with Blount and at least be sure of points.
Who vill fill the void in indianapolis this veekend, Tamme, Gonzalez or Blair Vhite...? Fangs a lot!
If I had to choose one, it would be Vhite. Though Tamme should grab 1, 2, 3, FOUR- FOUR vunderful passes... AH AH AH.
AJ, would you trade Roy Williams for Michael Bush? Also, who would you start this week at RB (pick 2): Torain, D. Williams, D. Brown, L. Blount
I'd make that trade. Williams turns into the invisible man and DNC is unlikely to be the starter in Oakland the entire rest of the way... As for RB, I'd play Torain and Blount. Now whip that hair!
AJ, BOO! I have Big Ben and Kyle Orton. Who do I start this week? Will this be matchups going forward or do I trade one of these guys? I need help!! Fangs you very much! MUAHAHAHA!
Orton gets my nod, albeit a slight one... I think generally speaking, it is a matchups thing here, but I'd hold on to both.
Someone wants to trade Percy Harvin to me for Peyton Hillis. He's also throwing in Welker and R.Brown. Do I stick with Hillis or grab Harvin from him?
That's a whole lot of talent just for Hillis. I absolutely make that deal, but even before I accept I see what other owners might give me for Welker to see if I can parlay that into an even better RB than Ronnie.
is he top 10 rb this week with d will possibly out-- is he startable over m lynch or k moreno
No, not top 10, but he's certainly a flex play. If I am sure DeAngelo is out, I would probably go with him over Knowshon though.
Funny that Welker is a throw in to a Harvin deal...
Such is the way of fantasy football, where because the sample sizes are so small, and the room for error so minute, people overreact to one good/bad game WAY too much.
What Colt receiver could be better than Branch this week, White or Gonzalez?
All of them could - after all, Peyton is still going to throw. That said, I like White better than Gonzalez - I never liked Gonzalez even before he became a gingerbread man.
Keeper question: In your experience, what'a a good number of keepers? It seems everyone does one, but aren't you just essentially taking the top 12 players off the board next year? We mightd o 2 but seems like the same principle...
I agree - Keeper leagues with 1 or 2 keepers are just redraft where you do the first tow rounds in advance. For my money, I'd rather go big or go home --- keep a minimum of a full starting lineup or you might as well redraft.
Can my owners expect me to put up Tony Romo numbers or am I fool's gold?
You;ll have some good weeks, but with Pittsburgh and all three divisional foes in rematches still on the schedule, I'm a bit skeptical.
What are McFaddens prospects to the end of the year? He a top 10 guy after have 5 very productive games?
I'm sorry... this is the Leslie Chow chat. No answer for you.
I keed... I keed... DMC is an RB2 until he has a bad game - then Cable panics and switches to Bush.
TRADE HELP! I'm loaded at WR (AJ, S Moss, Harvin, Colston, Garcon) and need RB help. What kind of return should I get for Andre Johnson? Is getting Ray Rice too low?
Why trade the best guy you have? Offer Colston and see how much you can get before you cut off your nose to spite your face.
Hey AJ, what's this news with Deion Branch's injury now? Do you think Steve Johnson is better play this week?
Branch is still a better play. Never concern yourself with the fact that a player is suddenly listed on the injury report as long as they still practice, which Branch did. Teams, especially the Pats, play games with that list all the time.
Would you sit Brees in favor of Fitzpatrick like Berry suggested?
I have Brees ranked higher this week, but it's primarily because I think KC runs the ball so well against the Bills that the number of plays BUF runs will be low. It's not that crazy a thought.
Your #1 Halloween candy is??? I have Shaub and Foster going this weekend, is it stupid to add Daniels too or is that too much to ask from one offense?
I wouldn't add Daniels, because he's not that much better than other TE likely out there - and you do have that too many eggs issue. (If you were adding Gates to Rivers, for example, I wouldn't care so much.) As for the candy - I do like candy corn, which to me is the only true "Halloween" candy -- but for candy in general, I've always loved 100 Grand.
Is it true that McCluster is out for the next two weeks??
Reports out of KC have him on crutches this week. I don't believe any "official word" has come out yet, but I'd certainly have a backup plan for this week in place.
I'm deciding between Britt and Garcon for my WR2. Do I dare bench Britt again and go with the much better match-up?
Don't you dare. As the old saying goes, fool me once... won't get fooled again. Ain't that right, George W.?
Would you trade Foster for Roddy White. Would leave me thin at RB though.
Not if it leaves me thin at RB. I love Roddy, but you can get help at WR far easier than at RB.
No you don't. Drop whatever kicker you currently have who is on a bye instead.
What can we expect out of Hart if Brown and Addai don't play?
I'd say you get around 60 yards and the chance at a score.
It never ceases to amaze me the fondness people develop for their kickers.
Kickers are people too... and besides, you can always use them to help distract the zombies in the first wave of the coming zombie apocalypse.
Am I practicing, playing? Or should i drop myself
I never understood why people were so high on a guy who hasn't played in close to two years and may not even be activated from the PUP lIst. Cut. Cut. Cut.
Do you believe the Monster Mash is truly a graveyard smash?
I'm not sure, but TAPS is on the way to investigate... we'll see if they can help figure it out.
Am I getting too cute starting Blair White over Bess or Crayton?
Personally, I go with Crayton. I have Wayne and Garcon ranked much higher than the Blair White Project, and I don't think three Colts will be in top 20.
Who said the Jack O' Lantern is holding a kicker? Many of us drop our kickers at the beginning of the week. Jack O Lantern may not have a kicker on his roster and needs to drop one of the players mentioned to add a kicker. Sometimes trying to be cute does't answer the question!
Fair point, Michael, but if you're going to use an aggressive strategy like that, then you need to have a plan in place. Have an exit strategy or stay out of the big boy's sandbox.
Is Troy Smith a viable start or am I just a deluded fan?
No, dear. You're still in the cell... THIS is the dream.
AJ, is Matt Stafford worth a start this week?
I think he is. Lions will throw and all reports are that Stafford is raring to go. I have him #11.
I have Rodgers and Flacco in my team. I'll never start Flacco over Rodgers but he's a great back-up to have. Is it smart to keep a good back-up QB behind a stud QB or would I be wiser to trade him to get a player like Hines Ward that I would use more?
I think it depends on your record and how badly you need another WR. Ward is certainly more valuable than Flacco, especially as a backup and you can always grab another emergency guy like Freeman off the wire. On an aside, "You're Not Elected Charlie Brown" is about as awful a cartoon as has ever aired.
The exit strategy is to pick up a kicker on Sunday and drop your least valuable player. Look, if Arian Foster gets hurt this week I'm dropping my kicker to pick up Ward on waiver and I'll figure out later in the week who to drop for a kicker. If Arian ends up being fine then I drop Ward. If Arian is done for the year I drop my least valuable player for the kicker. It is a very wise strategy.
Exactly. So why ask me on Friday which of your guys is the least valuable to you, when the point of the strategy is to wait until the last possible second?
Trade Bess and Bryant for Coleston?
No, I'd rather stick with the two and hope one steps it up. Now, if you really wanted to scare me, you'd have said "Mike Myers, dressed as the Love Guru"
Some help at flex this week, .5 ppr Harvin, Britt, Blair Witch, or Daily show pick one please?
Britt. Harvin a close second, but the whole Favre/Tarvaris situation worries me more than Collins/VY.
Should I start Blount (assuming his "illness" isn't a problem) or wait until Monday and go with Brown or Hart based on which one gets the start?
If you have both Brown and Hart, I'd consider waiting.
Have you checked the children? Pick 1 for my flex please. Blount, Hart, or SanAntonio Holmes? Thanks!
Holmes. He and Sanchez have had a full week to get on same page. Incidentally, as sequels go... "When a Stranger Calls Back" did a great job for the first 15 minutes, and then completely stunk up the movie screen.
LDT, Charles, TJ or Torain. Which one gets to ride the pine?
Now, you're SCARY! I sit Torain.
Do I gamble with Donald Brown, or drop him and pick up Chris Ivory?
For sure! When that guy dresed up as wallpaper and jumped out, I couldn't help but laugh!
If it is Brown or a zero, I make the move to Ivory. Otherwise, I keep Brown for future weeks.
Hey AJ! Would you trade MICHAEL TURNER (on bye this week) for either of these? I give: Turner... I get: Jamal Charles and either Lloyd, or Colston?
Absolutely. Charles is blowing up - in a good way. And to get a Lloyd (my pref.) or Colston on top of that? Easy call.
In terms of your chats, this is a last second decision. He can't ask for your help on Sunday can he?
No he can't... but neither will my opinion be of any value should new injury news emerge Sunday morning, which is the point of this strategy... to wait until all the info possible is in.
I dropped favre for a kicker. How the mighty have fallen!
Best... movie... ever.
Where do we find your weekly rankings? LeGarrette Blount or Ryan Mathews?
Blount by a slim margin. And I don't do rankings... I do projections. Seek and ye shall find...
Seriously?! Quit fighting like children over a stupid Kicker! Next year, all leagues should just drop the stupid position. Get over it already.
Now, now. As always, I'd just like to reiterate my campaign to "Vote Zastudil into the Pro Bowl"
Our league doesn't have a rule that all spots must be filled so I will only pick up a kicker this week if I'm trailing going into sunday night or monday night considering all 4 of those kickers involved are Free Agents.
Weak, Adam. Weak.
somebody needs some candy
I'm sure you'll be wearing some week-old chocolate on a red carpet somewhere this weekend.
Who gets the flex duties. Dez Bryant, Shonn Greene, Ricky Williams?
I like Ricky this week.
Are you sleepin on Fitzgerald this week (pun intended)? if so would you start Bess or Branch?
You had me at "sleepin"... then lost me by pointing out the pun... Fitz is a borderline No.2 this week. I'd probably go with him, but I'm not confident.
fred jackson or ricky williams going forward?
Again with the Ricky, Mr. Torrance.
Mike Williams west or Mike Wallace?
Seattle gets it by a nose.
Going forward Vick or Stafford
Palmer or Brady?
More cowbell, and more Carson as well.
Garcon or M. Austin this week?
Garcon, though I'm not necessarily down on Miles.
BOOOOOOO! That's the evil cuckoo. Thanks for all the questions, and for the playing along with the Halloween theme... good luck to all, and remember you can always find me on the Twitter. Until the next time... Be seeing you! That is, if you survive until then, MWA HA HA.
