Friday is here. Give a shout, give a cheer. Sixty minutes of fantasy chattage await... Second cup of coffee in hand... Who shall ask the first question?
which is the better of these two evils - favre vs porous az d or campbell vs tougher kc d?
I don't think you can go anywhere near Brett right now. Campbell and the Raiders have put up back-to-back 30+ games. He's the better bet.
Second cup of coffee here. With C Whitehurst reportedly getting the start in Seattle, do you think this makes the Giants D/ST that much more attractive?
Not really... Hasselbeck was sacked 206 times last week... Mike Williams is banged up. A good matchup no matter who is under center.
Aj, what do you think about Ryan Mathews or Shonn Greene as a RB2 this week?
Mathews for me. I don't love him, but he's going to get more touches than Greene.
Hey AJ. Matchups have me second guessing my lineup this week. Need to start 2 out of: Blount, S. Smith (Car), Knox, and Crayton. Gut says Blount and Smith. Matchups say Knox and Crayton.
I'm not sold on Blount, and I have Crayton and Smith even just ahead of Knox.
Can you help me convince myself to start Olsen vs the worst defense against TEs over Heap? I just see Olsen being used more to block.
I agree Olsen has more value this week than any other due to his opponent, but I would roll with Heap, so I can't help you, MC.
AJ, I noticed Collie practiced yesterday and is now listed as Probable. How much do you trust him in his first week back? What does his return do the value of Garcon? (I have both)
I think Collie will play, but I don't think he would be going if Gonzo were healthy. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not so sure I rush him back into my lineup. As for Garcon, the two don't run the same routes, so if anything his presence helps rather than hurts. Tamme might lose a few looks though.
More valuable for 2nd half - PPR - Dez or 85? Thanks!
Dez. As the Cowboys keep losing, Roy Williams sees less and less playing time.
Take a wait-and-see with Vick this week? Is Flacco a better play?
No, with a bye week to prepare, I jump in with Vick. Colts aren't exactly the greatest team at stopping the run.
Would you sit Ray Rice for Ahmad Bradshaw this week?
Yes, yes I would.
Which D do you like better this week, Falcons or Bears
Chicago. I'm not on the Fitzie train.
Tashard Choice a viable flex play this week? Thanks!
Quite possibly. Wade wasn't lying when he said Felix would get an increase in touches, and now he's said the same thing with Choice.
Breaston or Austin?
No question it's Miles. Derek Anderson is never the answer.
I'm very confused. Which 2 do you like best this week: Ray Rice, A.Foster, A.Bradshaw, L.Blount? I know you are not a Blount man.
Ahmad and Arian for me.
With the value of Moss seemingly up in the air, I've been offered trades, but is it better to just wait and see w/ Moss? I don't want to give him up for a dez bryant type and then Moss suddenly becomes relevant again...
I'd hold on to him. If Britt weren't hurt (of course, then the Titans might not have claimed him) I'd think differently. If anything, Moss is bound to have a great debut and then his value increases... then you can trade him before he implodes again.
With Mike Williams (SEA) looking like a poor start this week, I have James Jones and Mohamed Massaquoi to choose from. Which would you go with? Or would you stick with Williams anyway?
MoMa is actually my sleeper pick this week. Jones has a shot to do well, but I'm in the Jordy camp for Week 9... See if Williams practices today, but if not... look elsewhere.
Javarris James or Hightower?
Hightower, especially in PPR.
PPR league, Watson or Daniels and Best or Wells this week?
Given the injury concern, I'd go with Jahvid at RB. As for the TE, I don't think there's much difference, but I'm still leaning Owen's way.
Atlanta, Pats or Pack in my knockout pool this week?
I have Falcons by 11, and Packers by 13.
Is it time to drop A Hernandez with 0 TD's?
Not a chance... he's still getting tons of yardage. I'll take 60 from my TE each week and be happy.
Who is the better FLEX? Santonio Holmes or Cedric Benson?
Not going anywhere near Cedric this week. Might not crack 30 yards.
AJ will Castle and Beckett ever hook up? and need a D from Atlanta/Oakland/SDiego?
Although I'm a big Nathan F. fan, I hav never seen the show. Still, I'll put the odds as being greater than Cassel hooking up with Chambers. SD DST for me.
So if Collie is healthy he just plays? What happens to Gonzo? Is he irrelevant as long as Collie is around? I realize that's a lot of questions.
Gonzo might be out for the year... Stephania will have an update this afternoon, but it's not looking good from the reports I've heard.
Ocho, Bess, James Jones - which two start this week AJ?
I sit Bess, though I'm not so high on 85 either.
Woodhead or Ajirututu at WR3? It's slim picking but i think if Gates is out Tutu might have a decent day.
Tutu should have a flex-worthy day even if Gates plays with Davis out.
I just got offered Steve Johnson for vastly underachieving Shonn Greene. Opinions on this deal?
Absolutely. Bye weeks are all but done, so you don't need to be as deep at RB.
Would you drop K.Britt for lets say a high upside guy like Ajirututu or pick up D.Ward as a handcuff to A.Foster?
I would drop Britt in non-keepers. Depending on what other RBs and WRs you have, of course... but I'm not sure Seyi keeps value once Floyd returns.
Do you think Gates plays? If so, is he an automatic play?
If Gates plays, he is an automatic play -- but it will be a gametime call.
Crayton vs the horrible Houston secondary: is he a top-20 guy this week? Would you start him over guys with question marks, like say Desean or Collie?
I definitely start him over Collie. DeSean Jackson is a tougher call... but my gut says to stick with Patrick.
For the flex option, what do you like to play more? WR or RB?
I go by touches... so RBs usually get the nod for me unless the talent gap in my choices is huge.
Which guy at RB2 this week (lots of byes/injuries): Choice (DAL), James (IND), or Smith (DET).
Choice. James has no experience and who knows if Brown will be able to go.. Smith is nursing a bad knee and might not be able to go himself.
still alive in Survior!! (lucky w/ KC last week) best options left are ATL, MINN or NO... leaning towards ATL... what say you!?
I've got them all winning, but Falcons by largest margin.
Carlson or Olson - whitehurst might actually be able to throw to Carlson
The problem there is how bad the O-line is. Seattle needs Carlson as an extra blocker to keep Charlie upright and I'm not sure he'll have time to release downfield.
If I need WR help, would you trade Foster for DeSean Jackson and LeGarrette Blount? I was going to do it but I am afraid I am buying too high on Blount.
I think it's a step down at RB, but not a huge one... If the boost by getting DeSean is bigger than the loss of Foster, you make the deal.
Which D/ST gets the nod? Pats or Jets?? I think Det can put up points this week vs NYJ...
I do too, but with 50 throws from Stafford, Jets are likely to pick three. I'm going Green.
Welker or Lance Moore this week in a PPR? Is Welker due for a good game or are the dynamics of their offense just not helping him out?
You have to go with Moore. The Pats are still adjusting post-Randy and a hobbled Branch is just not helping Welker. Until he's healthy, it's going to be a struggle for Wes.
AJ, sounds like you're down on Benson this week. Keep him in there at RB3 or go with Tolbert or B. Jackson instead?
I haven't been subtle about it... I'm starting Jackson over Benson and I'm not looking back.
you like Stafford over Fitz and Freeman this week ?
By a large margin. They'll throw early and often and certainly should come close to 300 yards.
The Donald (Brown) or TJ Housh as a flex? Deep deep league.
Donald trumps TJ. See what I did there?
Who's going to win? Aggies or Sooners? Guess the score!!
Boomer Sooners. 31-23.
Thoughts on Santonio ? Run first team, lots of mouths to feed, is he going to be viable ?
I just don't think the Jets pass enough for Holmes to be viable, and Sanchez still looks to Braylon and Dustin more.
Bye week killers...You expecting big things out of Marshawn or should I roll Caddy?
I don't expect big things from Lynch, but he should be better than Caddy.
Green-Eillis or Ronnie Brown?
Lawfirm over Shy Ronnie. Ricky has looked better in Miami.
Better WR from this point on: Mike Sims-Walker or Mike Crabtree?
I think it might be Crabtree. We'll see how/if he and Troy develop a chemistry...
What type of production you expecting from Blount this week? Im not expecting 20+ again, but 10-14 seem realistic?
That range is definitely realistic.
Follow up to Brenton in Ohio's question. How sad is it that Ronnie Brown vs. BJGE is even a question? How the mighty have fallen.
He was never all that mighty... one game versus the Pats gave him way too much luster.
Dude. It's cold up here. Should I start over Steve Smith (North) and Patrick Crayton?
Nope, not this week.
Stick with a hurt Z. Miller or go with Keller or Pettigrew?
No reason to steer clear of Keller.
FLEX..J. STEWART, LYNCH, OR BARBER? 0.5PPR..TY
I'd go with J-Stew this week.
Need some help to take first place! Which one do you sit out of: S. Smith (NYG) vs SEA, D. Bowe vs Oak and H. Ward vs CIN???
Tough call... I sit Smith, but they're all pretty close.
Mr. Mass. You say Foster to Blount is not a huge step down. Please explain - do you not like Foster as much as others or do you like Blount more than others ?
I do not like Foster as much as others. Houston's offense is erratic and the D is so bad, they too often need to throw throw throw.
Please send us some good teams to watch! If you want an international following then have the likes of New Orleans, Pittsburgh, New England, or Indy play here. Now my question - what do you make of Schaub this week? Start Campbell or Henne instead?
You'll get the Niners and like it! I start Schaub, like I just said: throw, throw, throw.
How much of a hit or miss is Mike Wallace this week - more hit than miss?
I like Wallace this week... have him top 15 WR.
AP might break down in a couple of weeks with hte way he's shouldering the load. Time to grab Gerhart?
I don't think AP will break down, but certainly the Vikes have been less gun-shy about working Gerhart into the mix. Still, now that bye weeks are done you don't need to be as deep - this is when you can handcuff.
I'm not saying I disagree on Foster...but he's been in double digits in every game this year except one. That's pretty solid. Even CJ has put up 3 stinkers (though I would still rather have him). Consistency is worth a bunch in my opinion.
Not saying Foster isn't a solid RB... and the jury is still out on Blount, but if you go from 14 points a week to 11, and can increase WR points by 5, then you come out ahead.
Choose two...Harvin, James Jones, or Lance Moore.
Sitting Percy - not feeling 100 percent and no Randy to stretch the field. Sidney better be ready to go quickly.
Better emergency TE if Gates doesn't go: Greshem, Lee or McMichael?
I'd go with Gresham.
Choose 2 - Steve Smith (Car), Fred Jackson, Wes Welker.
No Fred for me... may get a lot of Spiller this week.
That's the whistle, gang. Best of luck to all of you in your games this weekend. We'll be back next Wednesday with another chat... Until then, there's always the Twitter. Be Seeing You!
