Bill Williamson
  (2:02 PM)

Hi everyone, let's get rolling.

Leland (Denver City, TX)

Will we ever see Ryan Mathews used 25 times in a game this season if he is healthly or do you think Norv is tired of watching him fumble?

Bill Williamson
  (2:03 PM)

I think they are going to take it fairly easy on him because of the ankle. But I can see him go 15-18 times a game.

Jose (Palo Alto)

Hi Bill,The first 8 weeks of the season as a Chargers fan has just been maddening. I have my fingers crossed for yet another mid-season turnaround. If the Chargers don't turnaround as usual, and end up missing the playoffs, could Norv be on the hotseat? I know special teams has been the main cause for the record, but 4 consecutive seasons of slow starts can't all be on the players can it?

Bill Williamson
  (2:05 PM)

This year has been diffuclt. Other than special teams, San Diego has been briliant. But the special teams is the reason thas is a 4-5 team.

Bill Williamson
  (2:05 PM)

Josh (Nashville)

Bill, how do you like the chances of the AFC west sending two teams to the playoffs?

Bill Williamson
  (2:07 PM)

Wow, that would be something, but I don't know if there is enough team for that to happen. But if the Raiders and Chiefs keep on winning, you never know. I do think it's going to be a really fun stretch run.

Brad (Philly)

Word has it Vjax is looking great. What kind of impact does this have on Floyd's nbr 1 WR value moving forward?

Bill Williamson
  (2:10 PM)

I think that will be answered a couple of weeks after Jackson returns. Jackson, I hear, is in good shape, but I think the Chargers have to look at him for a week or two before making him the primary receiver again. But I can see it hppening around Week 14.

Chris (Lee's Summit, MO)

If the Chiefs decide to go against a qb in the first round in next years draft, which do you think is a bigger need for the Chiefs. WR, LB, OT?

Bill Williamson
  (2:12 PM)

The areas you mention are are all needs. I think it will come down to where the Chiefs are picking and who is available. But a standout receiver would be temtping for this team.

Sean (NJ)

Huge Chiefs fan. They make me nervous week after week. How do you see there 2nd half going?

Bill Williamson
  (2:15 PM)

They should imrpvoe weekly. They only have two games remaining against teams with winning records -- the Titans and Raiders in the final two games of the season. They key is to close out games. They could easily be 7-1 if it wasn't for blowing it on the road at Houston and Oakland.

Eric (Virginia)

Do you think the Broncos would consider bringing Wade Phillips back to Denver as the Defensive Coordinator?

Bill Williamson
  (2:17 PM)

I wouldn't think so. McDaniels likes Martindale.

Rob 4 Raiders (Clear Lake, Texas)

Do you see any future for Justin Fargas? Or, is his career over?

Bill Williamson
  (2:18 PM)

Denver cut him in cmap. I'd say he might be done.

Eric (Ft Drum NY)

Being a Raider fan it is hard im not used to having optimism....Should i have this new found optimism in my Team or just expect an at best 7-9 season

Bill Williamson
  (2:18 PM)

There's seven games left, go for it. They won three i na row. Why can't they be in the race?

Alex (Ft Myers, Florida)

Boring chargers? I feel like there one of the most exciting teams to watch. Anyone on that offense could score any second.

Bill Williamson
  (2:19 PM)

Did I say boring?

Jared L (Eugene, OR)

Hey Bill, love the blog... For each team, what was the biggest move made or not made personnel-wise during the offseason? I think it would be the Chiefs draft class, Hue Jackson in Oakland, the Denver trade for Brady Quinn (ie P Hillis) and SD not taking care of Vincent Jackson...

Bill Williamson
  (2:19 PM)

I'd say you nailed it.

Edward MORETTI (Imperial Beach, CA)

When Vincent Jackson comes back for the Colt game, do you think there will still be room on the squad for Seyi Ajirotutu as the fifth receiver?

Bill Williamson
  (2:21 PM)

Turner has alreayd said Seji stays. He's been remarkable. The kid was on the practice squad just a few weeks ago.

Kevin (Peoria, AZ)

What, realistically, can we expect to see in terms of a healthy lineup when the Chargers play Denver a week from Monday?

Bill Williamson
  (2:21 PM)

The Chargers thinki they are close to being healthy. San Diego may be getting ready to make a run.

RaiderFan (Los Angeles)

What can Oakland do in the bye to give them a better shot next week @ Pitts? (besides try to learn to not have 15 penalties)

Bill Williamson
  (2:25 PM)

They are off for the rest of the weekeend. I think they just need to get their health and come beck and try to keep rolling. But yes, playing clean has to be the focus every week.

Andy (MN)

Solid work on the blog but, pick your top RB in the West.

Bill Williamson
  (2:27 PM)

Thanks, Andy ... Right now, It's McFadden. He's running hard. As a whole, I'd take KC's run offense because Charles and Jones are a fierce team.

Bill Williamson
  (2:26 PM)

Thanks, Andy ... Right now, It's McFadden. He's running hard. As a whole, I'd take KC's run offense because Charles and Jones are a fierce team.

Anthony (Fruita, CO)

The Raiders have some really tough games coming up. Do you think they can finish above .500?

Bill Williamson
  (2:28 PM)

They have a shot ... sure. They have to play cleaner and more conisistently. They can't just hope for the big play. But sure they have a shot.

Jordan Long (Lawrence, KS)

How much is the Kansas City Chiefs offense missing Dexter McCluster?

Bill Williamson
  (2:29 PM)

He's an important element. He's missed, no doubt.

Jagdev (Bay Area)

Will Raiders sign Seymour for the long run?

Bill Williamson
  (2:29 PM)

I have no doubt in my mind, he will stay in Oakland.

Richard (Wichita)

I think the Chiefs really blew it vs the Raiders. Does that make Sunday's game vs The Broncos sort of a "must win" ?

Bill Williamson
  (2:31 PM)

You're are right, the Cheifs could have clasesd out that game many, many times. A lot of people don't believe in must wins until the final game of the season, but if you really want to win the division, you win winnable games and this is a winnable game.

Eric (Ft Drum NY)

I havent heard or seen anything to much about Bruce Campbell is he making progress or will he just be a reach that didnt pan out

Bill Williamson
  (2:32 PM)

It's ealry. He's a work in progress. He should be fine.

Joel (San Diego)

Do you think San Diego will climb back in this and surprise the Chiefs and Raiders? SD not played any of the AFC West teams at home yet.

Bill Williamson
  (2:32 PM)

I would not count out the Chargers.

Anthony (Chicago)

If the Broncos win and are just 2 games back with 4 more divisional games left can jump right back into this afc west race, dont forget the raiders tough schedule and the chargers still have games @ Indy and 2 vs the broncos!

Bill Williamson
  (2:33 PM)

It'd be difficult to climb over threee team with seven games left.

Joel (San Diego)

If Vjax comes back and helps the Chargers win the AFC West, do you thing management has to consider extending him?

Bill Williamson
  (2:36 PM)

No, I think that ship has sailed.

Bill Williamson
  (2:36 PM)

No, I think that ship has sailed.

Trevor (NY)

As a Broncos fan, I've pretty much given up on this year. But I have high hopes for next year (not super bowl, ovbiously). But with the young o-line getting more time to work out the kinks, time for out defense to get healthy, I think getting dumervil back will be huge. And Kyle getting yet another year of the offense under his belt. I think Denver could be respectable. What do you think?

Bill Williamson
  (2:37 PM)

Plus, they may get a high draft pick. Sure, I can see Denver improving next year.

Todd (Chicago)

After Denver loses this week to KC and then next week to SD, do you think that McDaniels may finally decide to play Tebow more?

Bill Williamson
  (2:39 PM)

Orton hasn't been the problem. I don't think he should be punished for other people's issues. Plus, Orton will be around in 2011.

Rob (San Diego)

Bill, can you talk a little bit about Eric Weddle's underrated play this year? Do you expect the Chargers to retain him after this season as his contract is set to expire?

Bill Williamson
  (2:39 PM)

I'm a big Weddle guy. I can easily see him coming back to San Diego.

Bill Williamson
  (2:39 PM)

I'm a big Weddle guy. I can easily see him coming back to San Diego.

Mike (San Diego)

If the Chargers win out, which is very possible, do you see them making the playoffs?

Bill Williamson
  (2:40 PM)

At 11-5, sure?

Bill Williamson
  (2:40 PM)

At 11-5, sure?

Steve (California)

The "could be" game is crazy... because the Raiders "could be" 7-2 if they make a 32 yard field goal and have McFadden vs. San Francisco...

Bill Williamson
  (2:41 PM)

Or if SD doesn't have two blocked punts and 82 fumbles and if the Chiefs make one more play ... yeah, I get it.

Kevin (Kansas city)

I asked last week if you thought the chiefs could not only make it to the playoffs but make it to the playoffs with a bye, and you answered that the raiders game would play a big part in it. Now that the chiefs have lost and are only up a half game do you think its still possible? chiefs having the bye that is.

Bill Williamson
  (2:45 PM)

6-2 is a lot better than 5-3. Right now, I think the Chiefs need to concentrate on holding off the Raiders and Chrgers and just try to get into the playoffs, bye or no bye.

RaiderFan (Los Angeles)

Jacoby Ford better in the slot or lined up wide?

Bill Williamson
  (2:46 PM)

When Schilens and Murphy return, I think Ford can be a major weapon in the slot.

Andy (MN)

In facing only 1 current top 10 team down the stretch, complete disaster if the Chargers choke & miss the playoffs?

Bill Williamson
  (2:47 PM)

I don't know if it can be considered a "complete disaster:" if any 4-5 doesn't make he playoffs.

Daniel (North Carolina)

What does Philip Rivers need to do to finally ditch the bad rep he got from the Cutler incident?

Bill Williamson
  (2:48 PM)

I think it should be in the past. What did he do in that deal that was so wrong anyway? Just a little on-field gamsmanship. No biggie in my book.

Bill Williamson
  (2:48 PM)

I think it should be in the past. What did he do in that deal that was so wrong anyway? Just a little on-field gamsmanship. No biggie in my book.

Tommy Kelly (Oakland, CA)

How much have I improved this year? I've got 5.0 sacks and I've been a force ... only Suh has more sacks at DT ... am I in the Pro Bowl discussion?

Bill Williamson
  (2:48 PM)

I'd say so, you're doing great.

EdWARD MORETTI (Imperial Beach, Ca)

Any word on when Brandon Siler and Larry English will be back? The Chargers have been decimated at the linebacker position. Any thoughts of possible linebackers they could pick up in the meantime?

Bill Williamson
  (2:48 PM)

I think they might be back after the bye.

Kevin (Lawrence, KS)

Hey Bill, love the blog. A lot of us Chiefs fans feel that Matt Cassel's statistics are misleading, and that we are winning with him because he's not being asked to do much aside from hand the ball off. Thoughts?

Bill Williamson
  (2:50 PM)

Thanks, Kevin ... I kind of like Cassel. I think he is growing in the system just fine.

mike p (ramstein germany)

any honest superbowl predictions? i know its early but hey cant hurt to think about it

Bill Williamson
  (2:51 PM)

Before the season, it was Ravens-Packers, Feel OK about it.P.S.My nephew is there, too. Happy Veteran's Day to all.

Dexter McCluster (Chiefs Training Facility)

Any chance I make it back this week?

Bill Williamson
  (2:51 PM)

Depends if you practice today and Friday.

Corey (D.C.)

Earlier when answering a question about Jacoby Ford you said Ford could be a major weapon "when Schilens gets back". Do you think Ford will still be palying in 2018?

Bill Williamson
  (2:52 PM)

Zing.

Josh (California)

In your Opinion if the chargers cant fix special teams and turn over problems what do you think the records will look like in the AFC west at the end of the season and who makes playoffs?

Bill Williamson
  (2:53 PM)

If the special teams are not a problem, i think this is team is as good as any team in the NFL. I really do.

Jeff (Dallas)

What do you think Orton's trade value is? I see McDaniels trading him for a draft pick or maybe a Olinemen or another area of need. Because Orton is not the future and we could potentially get something for nothing

Bill Williamson
  (2:55 PM)

I think they could get a mid-round pick, maybe a conditional 2 or 3.

Jim (California)

do you think rivers will be mvp? and do you think the chargers will stop choking and go over the hump into the super bowl?

Bill Williamson
  (2:56 PM)

Has anyone been better this season?

rick m. (cardiff by the sea)

as of now, how many game do you see the raiders winning?

Bill Williamson
  (2:56 PM)

8-10.

rick m. (cardiff by the sea)

how did it feel inside the blackhole this past weekend?

Bill Williamson
  (2:57 PM)

It was rocking.

John (Florida)

Whats with with the questions from ( so called ) Dexter McCluster and Tommie Kelley? Whats that about?

Bill Williamson
  (2:58 PM)

Ask them, bro.

Tanner (Tucson, AZ)

When can we expect to see Chaz Schilens return? I cant even remember the last time I saw this guy in a game.

Bill Williamson
  (2:59 PM)

He was doing some things on his own this week. He may be back for the stretch run.

Joe (San Diego)

What does DEN do with Brady Quinn at this point?

Bill Williamson
  (3:00 PM)

Not sure. Looks like a third-stringer to me. Bad, brutal, terrible trade.

sean (CO)

mcfadden owned mcgraw this past sunday agree?

Bill Williamson
  (3:01 PM)

How could I disagree?

TBone (Denver)

I'll bet Denver could get two firsts from Chicago for Orton.

Bill Williamson
  (3:01 PM)

Funny.

Bill Williamson
  (3:01 PM)

Thanks, everyone, great hour. Talk to you next week.
