Wednesday chat is here... sixty minutes to get to as many questions as we can. Remember that Thursday games start this week, so be sure to get lineups in early... Second cup of coffee in hand. Who's ready to kick off?
Got offered Brady for Gregg Jennings. Have Fitzpatrick at QB right now, but worried bout when the weather turns in Buffalo. Reason to do this deal or start looking for a QB?
I'd take it. WR's can be replaced, and although Brady has struggled of late, I'd much rather have him as the weather turns...
Playing my brother Ben Savage in fantasy this week.2 questions: Need a qb this week, Fitz or Garrard. Also, I have Tamme and Davis at tight end. Who do I trade and what should I expect in return?
I find it hard to believe this is really Kevin Arnold. Tweet me to prove it! Garrard this week is definitely a solid play as Texans cannot stop any QB. I'd trade Davis, since you'll probably get more in return and I'm not sold that Vernon and Troy Smith are going to be a reliable hookup.
Is Miles Austin even a must start any more?
No. Kitna is throwing to Dez Bryant more and more, and frankly, I never thought Austin was good enough to survive double teams consistently.
What happens to the values of Felix Jones and the rest of the boys RB's with Jason Garrett as head coach?
No change, since they've got practically no value now.
Which is a better play this week, Giants Def/ST vs Dallas, or Tampa Bay Def/ST vs Carolina?
Tampa Bay. Clausen is not ready, and Pike is not exactly brimming with experience either.
Fred was always a bit immature. Always playing games with his younger brother, Boy Meets World kid. Anyway, Vick or Eli? I am taking on Olivia d'Abo this week.
Almost a perfect post, if only he had gone with McKellar rather than Cooper. I go with Vick this week though it's certainly a choice of top-5 options.
Is this the week I can expect a little something from Marshawn Lynch?
A little something. He did have a decent day vs the Cards a few weeks back, so 80-90 yards not out of the question.
We would typically never consider keeping a kicker on my bench even for one week, but this season we have Janikowski who leads all kickers in points. The second place kicker is 20 pts (25%) behind him. Thoughts on carrying two kickers this week?
For one week, why not? Especially if you've got a "reclaimable" talent to cut instead. I'm actually considering bending my own rule in that regard for Sebastian this week myself.
Someone dropped Tolbert..drop Britt or Romo for him? Don[t need him to play but just looking best value...
Drop Romo since he's less likely to return to action this season.
I'm starting Steve Johnson over Austin this week...do you agree? Also at flex this week, start Addai/Brown, Torain/Santana Moss or Austin?
Yes, yes I do. I also like Santana a lot and would start him.
What do you think of trading Matt Forte for Calvin Johnson?
In a heartbeat. Don't love the Lions QB situation, but Hill should be OK to play next week (fingers crossed) and Forte's schedule is brutal late (MIN, NYJ)
As the best character on the show I was hoping you can pick one. Mason Torain or Bess
Torain for me.
Would it be foolish to go with Blount over SJax? I really like Blount's matchup and Sjax has been below average lately.
Not this week... Jackson coming off a bye is not a player I would bench.
Is it true you don't need to be deep at RB once the byes are over? I have Gore and Charles but no one after that. Am I good for the rest of the season?
You don't need to be too deep, but you should at least have a Plan B in place, even if it's just an Anthony Dixon-type cuff.
In reviewing the standard deviation of performance for two key players on my team -- LT and Tampa's Mike Williams - I've reached a conundrum tied to the relatively small sample set of games played year to date. There appears to be a inverse non-linear relationship of LT's performances in recent history. Given this, should I play Mr. Williams or LT in my flex spot, standard scoring league?
I'm with the Mike Williams camp this week. Well played.
Who to bench: Blount, Maclin, or Smith (NYG)? I own D. Jackson...
I'm not a big Blount fan this week, but given you already have DeSean, I'd keep Maclin out -- don't think the Eagles score too much.
I chose poorly last week and it cost me. So I now seek the wise advice of AJ. Big Ben at home vs a terrible New England secondary, or Eli at home vs a truly terrible Cowboy team? Thanks
Eli for me. Should easily have three first half scores and hopefully won't turn it over. Big Ben still not throwing for over 200 consistently.
Lot's of Wonder Years love. Speaking of love, I love THomas Jones having a bounce back week. Thoughts?
Like Charles more, but TJ is definitely a high-end flex play. Trivia question: Which Friends cast member was on Wonder Years and who did he/she play?
Mike Thomas or Breaston?
Got 'em stacked back-to-back but I think there's a lot more love for Thomas, especially given the high regard for Garrard this week.
Wes Welker or Pierre Garcon - Droppable for Sidney Rice?
I'd consider swapping out Garcon, but I still have faith in Welker, who isn't hurting you in PPR, at least.
Who are the better 2 this week, Freeman, Fitz, or Garrard?
Already mentioned Garrard. Fitz is my second choice, though loss of Parrish may have more impact than you'd think.
ross from friends was karen's prom date
He played Michael and ended up marrying her.
Is Hillis a must start even against the tough Jets D?
I think so. Certainly still should be in top-20 of RBs, so if you start two...
RB dilemma. Hightower, Lynch or DeAngelo (Assuming he plays)? Please help me. Lost by a half point last week and need a bounce back week
So help me, I'm with Marshawn.
I have never agreed with the "any kicker will do" theory. I want every advantage I can get, and I will certainly aim for Kickers in higher scoring offenses if I can. I mean, isnt it contradictory to RANK the kickers which everyone does, then follow-up with "all kickers are the same"? Please retort....
Team A: 49 points, kicker gets 7. Team B: 9 points, kicker gets 9. It's the only position where opportunity and talent don't ever correspond.
I still cant believe that Paul from the Wonder Years is Marilyn Manson.
That old gag... urban myth, Yogi.
Wait and see on Randy Moss? Is Breaston vs Seattle a better start? What about Knox vs Minny
No, I throw him in there. If he's going to do well, it will be in the debut after a bye week.
Drop one for depth Knox, VJax, S.Rice, S.Moss, Floyd...yikes!
Knox. Too inconsistent.
Kinda "wondering" how many "years" until my question gets picked. Orton Fitz or Freeman? Thanks.
Fitz, then Kyle, then Josh.
Dez Bryant vs Santonio Holmes... who do you take?
I go Santonio. Dez is getting more looks, but Giants will know to cover him from recent experience.
Which 2 do you start? TO, Roddy White, Megatron?
Two words: Drew Stanton.
This thursday game is seriously limiting the time I keep switching my starting QB. Who do you think I should stick with?Orton or Flacco?
I'd take my chances with Flacco.
Aaron Hernandez has a horrendous matchup vs PIT, but I'm also afraid of Witten vs NYG as he is a very willing blocker... where would you roll the dice?
I go with Aaron. I think he's the top TE this week even given the tough matchup.
Do I get cute and start Garrard over Brady (at Pitt) this week?
I don't think it's getting cute. Texans have consistently allowed huge point totals to QBs and Brady hasn't looked good since Randy left.
can't believe it has come to this.. but who should i go with austin, holmes, breaston or amendola? (need only 1)
rice, charles, s.jax for rest of season?
As long as he doesn't get hurt, I go with Charles.
Steve Smith South, Nate Washington, Donald Brown. Pick two please.
I sit Nate.
Do you really trust Turner against the Raven's Def this week?
I'd rank him 10th for the week at RB, so unless I had two above him, then I'm still starting him.
Who will be the big receiving winner for the Texans vs. Jags?
Why wouldn't it still be AJ?
Mendenhall or MJD the rest of the way? Would you trade Mendenhall plus Hines Ward for MJD?
I like MJD. I certainly would rather have MJD and a WR rather than having two Steelers in key starting positions.
Which Jacoby would you take for the year: Ford or Jones?
Jones. Can't say I'm a believer in Oakland yet.
would it be evil to start greene over best or fjax. curse you aj mass!
Only if you had a Boost-a-Shonn-inator. Best set for a big day.
Choose one for this week: M Williams (Sea) or W McGahee (Balt)
Williams unless Hasselbeck sits.
pick one, B Favre, M Cassel, or V Young?
VY. He's got a brand new toy to play with.
pleaser seattle lions or browns
Believe it or not, I go with Seattle's D/ST this week.
fred savage loves my story - open flex spot - ray rice, jahvid best, mike wallace, miles austin, santonio holmes?
Very clever. You're going with Rice here, just as every Princess Bride would want at her wedding.
new a new band member this week for a first flex tour- m austin, n. washington, bm williams. keep rocking
Williams gets to ride on my parade float.
AJ, I know what we're gonna do this weekend. We're gonna build a build a concussion-proof, turf toe resistant, tight end, name him ________ and start him in fantasy football
Model 1 - Aaron. Model 2 - Jacob. Model 3 - Visanthe.
Commissione question. Have trade deadline set for Nov 12, would like to move to Nov. 26. Couple owners okay with it, while a few complaining. What do you think?
If not unanimous, you don't make in-season rules changes.
True love is a noble cause, but winning my fantasy league earns bragging rights and a nice cash prize. Rice or Ahmad this week?
Ahmad Bradshaw storms the castle. If you don't start him, you are to blaaaaave.
Why is Boss getting so few looks in the redzone, is it just because Eli can't see anyone but Nicks when he gets down there?
Boss is simply doing more blocking this year and near the red zone, guys like Beckam and Pascoe are more likely to be in the game in double-TE sets, halving his chances.
All right, AJ. Where is the poison? The battle of wits has begun. It ends when you decide and Thursday begins, and find out who is right... and who is dead. Sims-Walker or Nate Washington?
You must have known I would select Sims-Walker, in fact, you were likely counting on it, so clearly I cannot recommend the wide receiver from Jacksonville...
The owners in my league rarely make trades. We have been playing together for years and the league sees an average of one or two trades per season. Any suggestions on how to spice things up? (Boy, this sounds like a veiled attempt at marriage advice)
Nope. People are who people are. You either have risk-takers or you don't.
Did you see that clip of Andy Reid doing the kick, punt, pass as a kid? Priceless...
That was no kid... that was Fezzik. And with that, time has run out on another chat. I'll be back on Friday. Couldn't have gotten through this one without a little help from my friends. I'll do a Twitter run later today... until the next time... Be Seeing You!
