Good morning again, gang. One hour of fantasy chattage ahead. This is still NOT "The Event" but the rules are the same -- play nice or you can please pack your knives and go as the tribe has spoken. Second cup of coffee in hand... who is up first?
Who would you rather pick up this week, J. Stewart or J. Starks? Thanks!
Stewart for me. GB is talking about a cerberus monster in their backfield with B-Jax, Starks and Dmitri all getting their fair share. Sounds like a no win situation.
C Johnson or Blount against Redskins poor D.Can't afford another dud from Johnson. Thanks
Colts don't do well against run, and on a short week it's hard to imagine they'll be able to conceive a plan to completely take CJ2K out of the equation.
Is it unethical to throw my game this week if it only affects the seeding of the 4 teams that have already locked up their playoff spots and gives me a better first round matchup?
I think it's pointless to try... you have no control over how your players perform, so why bother trying to "fix" matchups?
Harvin or Tamme at flex?
Tamme. Not safe to start Captain Headache.
I am one of 3 left in my Survivor pool--best options this week are Jacksonville, Indy, and someone from the SF-SEA matchup. Gotta go Indy, right?
I don't like Indy or Jax to win this week... have SF by 2 in my projected scores.
AJ - Crystal ball is in the shop! Tolbert or Bradshaw this weekend. Was stung but fortunate last weekend!
I like Bradshaw more. Odds are Tolbert still gets 80 percent or more of carries, but Mathews is healthy, so you never know how much of the pie he'll eat into.
Should I start Chris Ivory?
Obviously it depends on your other options, but even if Pierre finally returns, Ivory will be the lead back for most of the game. Safest of all Saints RBs.
Are things looking up for me now that Dez is out??
In the sense that the next best option in Kevin Ogletree, yes. But it's probably going to be a lot of Miles and Witten.
Pats "D' or Ravens "D"
I go with the Pats this week.
Trust me at all this week? Would you play Jahvid Best or Brandon Jacobs over me?
Not one bit... go with Jacobs.
Are either Collie or V Jax going to be worth a start between them?
Collie will be once he returns... I think if the game was on Sunday and not tomorrow, he'd have had a chance.
Winnie is so hot! And mean Becky wants me but I hate her. I can't think straight. Who do I pick between Blair White, James Jones, and Mike Thomas? PPR. Thanks!
Becky was always the prettier of the McKellar girls. Thomas is the clear choice for me.
Any reason to worry being an Orton and Lloyd owner?
I wouldn't worry. If anything, with a new sheriff in town, the offense might not be as predictable.
Start Roy E or go with the hot Earl Bennet??
It's been a revolving door in Chicago with Bennett one week and Knox the next. This is a Knox week, so I'd roll dice on Roy.
Flex: Jacoby Ford, Cedric Benson, Kenny Britt, or Jahvid Best?
Ford. I don't want to risk a Vincent Jackson-esque setback from Britt costing me.
Would you trust S. Smith north this week if he gets the nod to play?
No, even Smith himself isn't sure he can go the full sixty.
Steve Johnson or Malcom Floyd?
Floyd. With questions around Naanee, V-Jax, Gates and the lackluster other options, Rivers goes to him early and often.
Schaub or Big ben this week?
Can I go off the board for "All About Ologies?" please? Neither thrills me, but I'll go Big Ben's way due to Schaub v BALT.
Would you start Alex Smith over Mark Sanchez considering the matchup?
No. Sanchez actually had a solid game the first time against the Dolphins and that was pre-Santonio.
Dreessen Fasano Dickson or the new dude on Seattle in PPR if Gates cant go sunday?
Daniels likely plays, cutting into Dreessen's value. Dickson is more a blocker than a receiver. Fasano is safest choice of the bunch, since Seattle doesn't really throw to the tight ends much, as well as Morrah did last week.
What do you see from Javarris James this week? You got to answer this
I don't "got to" but I shall. Looks like Donald Brown will get the majority of carries, but James should get the goal line work making him the better choice of the two.
Garcon or Mason this week?
Mason for me. Ravens passing game is grooving nicely and Pierre still has too many drops to be counted on.
james jones or randy moss?
Jones. Moss is not even guaranteed the start this week if Britt does return, and he's been more decoy than weapon.
AJ - By your "rankings" you seem down on Big Ben this week - Would you really start Cutler over him? Is one a "safer" bet and other higher upside?
Pats, even with the solid MNF showing, are still an awful pass defense, and while the O-line in Chicago needs to step it up, Cutler should get his points. He's got higher upside to me.
Topanga annoys me...I know you don't like schaub vs. balt, would you start him over Cassel due to KC replicating what the raiders did? Damn you feeny!
I don't know... Topanga looks pretty good these days on The Dish. I agree Cassel will be handing it off left and right and then left again. Schaub for me.
Any concerns for the weather in Chicago this weekend? Looks pretty windy. Any affect? Thanks
Wind is about the only weather I worry about, but it's not like either team playing there uses the deep ball as the primary weapon -- lots of short quick zips and YAC. That's not going to be impacted as much.
With Tamme not practicing this week, should I pick up Watson and drop Keiland Williams?
Practice? We talking about practice? Not a game... Tamme will be fine. Just a precaution due to short week.
I've danced through September and made the playoffs. Which 1 of these WR belongs on my roster: R. Moss, J. Ford, K. Britt or R. Meachem?
Meachem, because although I think Britt helps you more next week and Week 16, you don't get there with him this week.
In your "rankings" you had MSW playing. If he doesn't how does that affect Mike Thomas?
Not much... factored the chances that MSW has another setback in those numbers. Jags will live and die with MJD this week.
How does this week's RB situation shake out in Dallas? are either/both worth starting?
50-50 split in touches, I fear, though Choice is better well, choice. I'd gamble with Tashard as a a flex, avoid Feliz Navidad.
Would you bench Welker for Meachem this week? Or is Welker now a matchup-proof WR2 the rest of the way?
No, Welker's a must start. Matchup proof, as you say.
Whats your take on Andre Johnson and GTD on Monday nite? Should I go ahead and start Crabtree or S Rice
I am a bit concerned about AJ and Crabtree seems safer to me. He and Alex have always gotten along.
Does the fact that the Colts may be without both their starting CBs affect your opinion on Britt/Moss this week?
Makes me like Washington a bit more, but I am concerned about Britt's health and Moss is, as TMR might say, "dead to me." The Thursday start scares me away from using Kenny.
Avoiding Feliz Navidad even in the holiday season? What a Scrooge!
And Happy 8th Night of Hanukkah to you as well.
Thoughts on my flex options this week?Mike Wallace, Jacobs, Dixon or Westy?
Wallace for me. Better explosiveness than Ward for PIT. Jacobs, I think, begins to take a backseat again and the SF sitch is to be avoided.
BJGE or Ivory this week ?
BJGE or Ivory? Live together in perfect harmony. Side by side in my fantasy backfield... Sorry, got lost for a second... have them projected even, so I'll go Ivory v STL.
I love scotch! Scotchy-scotchy Scotch! Who would you sit in a non PPR- Moreno, Rice, and LDT. Stay classy!
Tomlinson. Think he gets a lot more work than last week, but Greene will still have impact on his numbers.
ARE YOU DATING
I'm dating myself with some of these references I make, but I am a happily married man of ten years.
Tolbert, Choice, or Stewart in my flex this week?
Tolbert for me, Jesse.
I've got a wedding to arrange, a honeymoon to plan, a fantasy football game to lose, and Guilder to frame for it. I'm swamped! So who do you like, Flacco or Orton?
For the first time this year, I'll say it. Wacko for Flacco! But I would not say such things if I were you.
Do you see Bush getting more yards and carries than McFadden again this week? Is he worth at RR2 spot?
No, I think DMC takes 2/3.
Crazy to start 4 Cowboys this week? Kitna as my starting 2nd QB, Witten, Austin, and Choice? Can sub T. Jones for Choice or possibly sit Austin..
That's a lot of eggs to put in one basket, don't you think? I'd sit Miles in your scenario.
Fjax with his beat up O-Line or BJGE against a tough Bears D at flex this week?
Yes, I can see that. Brady's not going to stop throwing because of a little breeze.
What does the move to boston mean for adrian as far as fantasy goes? More opportunities but tougher pitching what do you see as the net result?
A baseball question? What's that? Wes, I think you need to wait and see how the rosters all shake out before coming to any conclusions, but he's got to be at least as dangerous given the fact he'll have legit protection and a much easier park to hit in.
Help me and my Cousin Larry App-le-ton do the dance of joy! As an AJ owner, do I plug in Earl Bennett or pick up Kevin Walter as an alternate?
Rather assume AJ plays and have Walter as the emergency fill-in in case I am wrong. Bippy babkas for everyone!
Watson or Hernandez as a back up for Gates rest of way in PPR.
Watson. Pats TEs will split the looks too much to be as valuable.
Is my time up?? Would you start Boss, Fasano or Jimmy Thomas and dump me??
Yes to any and all of the above.
People who start Michael Crabtree over Andre Johnson (or even Sidney Rice) are going to be very upset with you on Monday. Just sayin.... geez.
Spoken like a true Niners fan.
does me playing with my 7,204 injuries affect sidney rice? start CedBen in a flex spot or rice?
To be honest, I think you play a series or two to keep the streak alive and then sit anyway. Jackson found Rice last week, so I think either way it's up to Sidney to do it himself. Benson is a must-sit for me.
Who is Jimmy THomas?
Thinking he meant Jimmy Graham actually of the Saints -- confused him with David Thomas also of NO. I read it Graham myself when I answered.
Is Celek really going to produce without me throwing to him? Worth adding for the fantasy playoffs?
Slowly but surely eating into Jason Avant's catches. Never going to have a 6-for-70 day, I fear, but 3-40 is reasonable to expect.
With Rhodes back, any chance he contributes?
Only on specials.
Need two - Maclin, B. Lloyd, or Run DMC
It's not tricky... you sit the Raider.
That's the final gun. Thanks to all for the Q's. There's a Twitter run in the offing for later this afternoon if I didn't get to you. Until the next time (Friday) Be Seeing You!
