Chat with Ohm Youngmisuk

  (12:31 PM)

Hey everybody! Thanks for stopping by. Let's chat!

Ben (MI)

Wud up?Syracuse's score. Over Sparty.

  (12:31 PM)

Hey Ben! Yeah, we don't deal well with zones. We are always the worst team in November and December. But I'll take it in exchange for March and a third-straight Final Four.

Dan (MI)

Is your name made up, like Chad Ochocinco?

  (12:32 PM)

It's 100% real homey. All Thai.

Chris (MI)

Youngmusik, huh? What like Raffie? Barney? Teletubbies?

  (12:32 PM)

Chris... Youngmisuk, homey. Youngmisuk.

MJ (Palisades, New York)

Is there any possibility Yanks get Cliff Lee and Carl Crawford?

  (12:33 PM)

MJ... think the Red Sox are about to sign Crawford if they haven't already. Yanks better step up with Lee...

Chioke Hassan (Baltimore,Md)

Dear OhmDoes L.T. still hold a grudge agianst the Pats?

  (12:34 PM)

Dear Chioke... I think the whole Jets team holds a grudge against the Pats now... That won't be buried along with that football Rex buried in the Jets practice field yesterday.

Rachel (Hattiesburg)

Hi Ohm! Your thoughts on why the Jets played so poorly please. Thanks!

  (12:35 PM)

Hi Rach... Hattiesburg in the house! I've spent a few days there for Brett. My worry about the Jets going into that game was that their comebacks came against inferior teams. Not to say that winning on the road and in the fashion that they did was not worth applauding. But the Pats are a much better team than say Detroit or Houston. And the Pats just came out on fire. Losing Leonhard on Friday hurt. Even with Leonhard, still think Pats would have won. They ran into a buzzsaw.

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

What was the Worst Giants & Jets Teams that you have ever seen?

  (12:37 PM)

Well, I haven't been around for all the bad teams. As far as what I have seen in person, last year's Giants team was pretty bad down the stretch. The Jets... there are a lot of bad years to pick from.

  (12:37 PM)

Dan (arlington va)

help me Notorious Ohm with my WR dilemma; DeSean Jackson, Manningham, Welker or Robert Meachem, can only play 2, PPR league. Also at RB , Tolbert or Jacobs (I have Steven Jackson who I can't sit)

  (12:39 PM)

You got to start DeSean against Dallas because of what he has done in the past. Know he's been struggling but roll the dice. I like Welker of the other three. Manningham could do better with Smith back on the field and Meachem has been playing well but they are risky, you know? At RB, go with Tolbert.

JdubbDizzle (Hartford Ct.)

Holla at your Boy Ohm!! Its that time again to get your weekly gems of knowledge. After securing 2nd place i am sitting pretty heading into the playoffs, but it is always nice to hear what you think. J. Starks or A. Dixon. D. Bess or T.O and one final question, Whats up with Andre Johnson should I bench him or ride it out like a huffy? Thank you again.Your Homey JdubbDizzle

  (12:41 PM)

Holla! Love Starks' matchup but it's only been one week and not sure if I'd roll the dice with him and two other backs getting carries. Would like to wait and see. I'd go T.O. only because he has played pretty well this season and did the job against Pitt earlier this season if I remember correctly. Also, I would never tell you to bench Andre. I am one of those guys who never benches my top pick unless he is a total buster.

Tom (Poughkeepsie, NY)

Love the Blog Ohm! Im loaded at RB. Pick 3...MJD, R. Mendenhall, P. Hillis, J. Charles, A. Bradshaw? ALso had Matt Cassel at QB! I Need a wavier wire QB any suggestions? Being a Giant fan do i dare say Jon Kitna?!

  (12:43 PM)

Tom... gotta ride MJD. You can't bench Hillis. Then I think it's between Charles and Mendenhall. I'd go with Mendenhall at home. Love Charles but Cassel may not play and I have no idea how that will impact him. Also at QB... Kitna is not a bad option. Josh Freeman has a great matchup. Not sure if he is available. But Kitna will keep throwing.

Brian (NJ)

Allright Ohm, its crunch time. Time to lay it on the line and make some predictions. I have the Giants going 11-5 (Wins against Phi, Minny and Wash - Loss against GB) and winning the division. What say you?

  (12:45 PM)

Ok B... 11-5 is best-case scenario because I don't see them winning out. I predicted 10 wins at the start of the season and am sticking to that. 2-2 down the stretch. You better hope that one of the losses is not to Philadelphia. LOL. They got a shot to win the division for sure, and I think they will play very well against Philly again. But for some reason... just a gut feeling... I don't think they will win the division. They can certainly prove me wrong. And I have no real argument to make to you other than it is just a gut feeling. For some reason, they don't beat the really good teams when they face them, they fall just short sometimes. I still need to see them beat a Philadelphia and Green Bay.

ben (north shore)

yo man watup 1. how bout my syracuse orange beating ur spartans up!! 2. its hard to tell how good the giants really are, they could be great but also play horendouly wat do u think

  (12:47 PM)

Ben, Cuse looked good. But we looked really really bad. We are awful against zones and we never play well at this time of the year. Good win for your boys. That big man was snatching every rebound. As for the G-Men... they are never as good as they look and never as bad as they appear. They are exactly what they are! LOL. They aren't one of the elite in the NFC. But they are right underneath that. They can beat an elite team. But they got to do it first. I do believe they are a playoff team though and then anything can happen from there.

Knish (NYC)

Can the Fins come into NJ and beat the Jets this weekend?

  (12:48 PM)

Knish... yes, they can. Dolphins always give them trouble. But I'd kinda be surprised if the Jets laid another egg in back to back weeks. That would be very disturbing.

Joe (Detroit)

Sparty sucks.

  (12:49 PM)

I take it Joe, you are a Michigan fan. When was the last time you guys beat us in basketball and football? Like over 1,000 days ago. See you in March, that is, if Michigan still has a basketball team.

Craig (MI)

What bowl game is Sparty going to this year? I don't remember the name. I don't think it was very famous.

  (12:51 PM)

Capital One Bowl... we're playing Saban and Alabama.

Michael (NYC)

Does it not seem like Nick Swisher's best wedding present came courtesy of the Red Sox signing Carl Crawford?

  (12:52 PM)

Michael, I love Crawford... but good for Swish.

Ahmad Bradshaw (Rhode Island)

Will the Green Bay Defense be able to stop me and the running game on the road in a few weeks?

  (12:52 PM)

AB... you should still be able to churn out 80-plus yards but GB defense is very very tough. If it's cold, that will help because as you guys like to say, nobody likes to tackle in the cold.

Adam (Bronx, NY)

YOUNG OHM lol! WASSAP MY DUDE!!! Great columns and insights as always on ESPNNY. Definitely gets me through work on Thursdays, haha so thanks bro! Ok let me fire away some Q's at you. I was looking at the Giants schedule, and realized that if the G-MEN win out the rest of the way and get some help (ideally New England and the Jets both destroy Da Bears, which I think they both will), we have a LEGIT shot at the #2 seed. Call me crazy, but IMO, I think the G-MEN can do this. New Orleans and Atlanta will cancel each other out for the #1/5 seed and I think we can take Green Bay, even @ the PACK's Frozen Tundra. I think our biggest game of the year is against the Eagles by far, and if we handle our business, we're in great shape (at least to win the division and get a home playoff game) to make a DEEP Playoff run. PLUS we're getting healthy at the right time when it's usually the other way around for most teams. I want to see how good we are at full strength against some of the better teams in the NFC. We've kinda been handicapped. Last Q - do you think the Giants D steps up and sends Brett Favre into retirment for good this week? Sorry for long post, had ALOT to share. Thoughts?THANKS OHM!

  (12:56 PM)

Ok, this is the longest question ever! LOL. Adam, I don't see the Giants winning out. Gonna be very very hard. If they do, they deserve it for sure! They have to beat the Eagles if they want to be considered a serious legit team. Getting swept by Eagles would be crushing. They could still make the playoffs but it be hard to think of the Giants as a serious contender. You guys are getting healthy at the right time and that is a major plus. And I agree with you, would have liked to have seen full strength Giants in Philly a few weeks ago. I don't think they will knock Brett out this week but they will get some serious licks on him.

Ohm love the job you do covering me G-men!What do you feel is most imporstant thing the giants have to do aside from get healthy to get us to the promis land?

  (12:57 PM)

Jerry, thanks dude. I think the Giants need to cut the turnovers out. They don't have a huge margin for error so a lot of times they kill themselves with turnovers. The ones that come inside the 20 are the killers. At this time of the year, you can't have those kind of turnovers. Special teams is getting better. Defense will be solid, if not for entire game, for most of it.

jerry (brooklyn)

My OHMEY whats good??do you agree with me that the giants should use DJ Ware as their returner full time? i dont feel the other guys can get the job done, seeing way to many bobbles and botches, and ware has speed

  (12:58 PM)

Jerry, DJ Ware has been pretty good at KR. I think they should stick with him. At PR, Blackmon on his way back. Wouldn't mind seeing Devin Thomas get a crack at it as well.

Mitch (LA)

Waddup Big Ohm! Yanks better sign Lee and think about trading for Greinke! Who should I start Manningham or Garcon?

  (12:59 PM)

Hey Mitch! I'd love to see Yanks get Greinke. I still think he's a BEAST. Lee is terrific too. That be nasty if they got them both. Hard to see that happening. But you never know with the Yankees. I'd start Garcon. If Nicks and Smith come back by Sunday, Manningham could see less targets.

B (NC)

Hey OHM! You taking fantasy questions today? Jacobs, Blount or Manningham at flex?

  (1:00 PM)

B... I always take fantasy questions homeboy! Blount vs Wash. I am a little scared about the goalline carries thing but he will get the most touches of those three.

Otto (NJ)

Ohm, whats the deal? Heard Nicks and S. Smith are coming back this week but I hope this gift doesnt come with a curse. Eli has been efficient and the running game has been great. I just hope Gilbride doesnt get overconfident and makes Eli throw 35-40 times now. GMen need to stick to the script, pound the rock and attack the QB. Im out.

  (1:01 PM)

Otto, wud up. I think you will take Smith and Nicks back even if it means more passing. They need those two. I still think they will try to run but Minny run defense is still a pretty tough unit. It could be hard running the ball.

jared (bristol)

hey ohm so who will the giants have back this week?

  (1:02 PM)

Jared... my guess... Smith and Diehl. I can see them holding Nicks out for one more week to be sure. I think O'Hara could be back next week as well. Blackmon should be back this week too. And I think Bradshaw will play. We will find out more later. Andrews will probably be out.

Joe (NY)

Ohm- how are the Giants preparing for the Minny QB situation this week? Do they have 2 different gameplans or trust the Favre is going to play based on his history?

  (1:03 PM)

Joe... they say they are preparing for both QBs. But Coughlin said some of the stuff they do is the same for both QBs, like Minnesota will run a bootleg for both QBs. I think Favre is playing.

Shawn (Detroit)

Whats up with Sparty B-Ball?? Think Izzo should me more concerned then in years past??

  (1:05 PM)

Shawn, here are my concerns... Normally, I like when we lose in Nov and Dec. Then that means Izzo has their ear and he can continue to get them ready for March. I never mind when we don't win the Big Ten. I rather play for March. We are always better when we aren't ranked super high. With all that being said, the rebounding concerns me. And the turnovers. They are maddening. Defensively, we can't stop quick guards. Izzo has a few months to fix that though. They got the talent to go to the Final 4 though even if it is not showing up right now.

Mike (NJ)

Hey Ohm- As of today do you think Nicks and Smith play without limitations on Sunday?

  (1:05 PM)

Mike, I think Smith plays but he will be limited to a degree by the injury the rest of the year. I would hold Nicks out one more week but that is just me.

Derek (NJ)

Ohm...Diehl starting at tackle with Boothe or guard with Beatty at tackle this week?

  (1:06 PM)

D... Diehl said yesterday he expects to start at LT. Boothe at LG.

Jason (Conn)

Ohm your the best! How impressed are you with the emergence of JPP the last 2 weeks? Is this a sign of things to come or just a flash in the pan?

  (1:06 PM)

Jason... thanks dude. Very impressed homey. The kid looks good and he's still so raw. Tuck has taken him under his wing. And that is a very good thing. Tuck is the man. I think this is a sign of possibly big things to come. But give him some time. Remember, he is still learning the game.

Jon (Work (NYC))

Ohm, to be honest as a die hard giant fan i can assure you no one saw their 2007 super bowl run coming. However, we know how talent this team can be and how they can make a serious run if they cut out the 31 turnovers and can stay healthy. With the start to finish beatdowns they gave to CHI HOU and WASH is this team forming into what we all hoped they would be? what the 2008 team couldnt finish?

  (1:09 PM)

Jon, you are right about 2007. But when they played the Patriots hard in that final game, you started to see what they could do. My problem with this team is that they hammered teams that I don't really consider to be the elite teams in this league. Sure, Chicago is winning. But count me as one who doesn't believe in the Bears right now. Sorry, love Lovie but don't see the Bears as better than the Giants. Maybe in Chicago if they had home field. Good teams don't beat themselves and that is my frustration with the Giants. If they can clean that up, get healthy and play a lot more consistent, sure, they can beat the best in NFC. We'll find out exactly how good the Giants are in the next 3 games. This week's game is going to be very difficult.

Ian (Dallas)

Ohm, what's up man? You've been so helpful this fantasy season I need your help. At Wide Receiver I have Colston but as a #2 I have Steve Smith (NYG), Ben Obenmando or Danario Alexander. Is Steve Smith healthy enough to plug in? Also RB Shonn Greene, James Starks or Jonathan Stewart, need 2 of those. Thanks man I really appreciate your help.

  (1:12 PM)

Wud up Ian... good luck! If Smith plays, I'd put him in over those others. The Seattle guy probably won't even play. At RB, Stewart will get the most touches of the three. Has a tough matchup though but this late in the season you want to go with guys who will get the most touches right? Love Starks' matchup but you don't know how many touches he will get. Probably go Stewart and then Greene or Starks. If you play Starks, don't be mad if he doesn't get 18 carries. He still could get a TD though vs Det.

Mitch (SI NY )

Hey Ohm big time fan, 100 straight starts for Eli this week, with a super bowl trophy/MVP award and Bradshaw has him ranked 9th on his top 10 qbs under 30 list behind Sanchez, Freeman, Flacco, Ryan etc. What is it going to take for Manning to be recongized as a top flight QB in this league?

  (1:13 PM)

Hey Mitch, thanks dude. Eli doesn't get as much respect because he is compared to his brother and the fact that he was drafted first overall and still throws a ton of picks and doesn't carry a team on his back say like Rivers. But he has a ring and he makes the playoffs almost every year and wins. But I think Manning has to win another one to truly be respected by everyone. I respect him tho. After what he did to the Pats, how can you not?

  (1:14 PM)

Ok guys, thanks for stopping by again. Good luck with your playoffs and your favorite teams this week. Time for me to go into the locker room! Peace!
