Bill Williamson
  (2:02 PM)

Hi everyone, let's get started.

Brian (Ogden, Ut)

after mcfaddens performance sunday where would you rank him among the other running backs in the nfl?

Bill Williamson
  (2:03 PM)

ze's prob top 5-7. He needs to be consisntent, but he can take over a game.

Becs (Kansas )

Do you Matt Cassel will be ready by Sunday? If not what do the Chiefs need to do to win without him?

Jeff (Louisville)

Bill thanks for your work...what is Denver going to do? Anything, coaches, players. I mean they just look bad...maybe a top three pick...where will they go with that pick?

Patrick (Pittsburgh)

If Matt Cassel can't play, will Brodie Croyle be able to move the offense against the Rams, or will we end up seeing Tyler Palko take the reins?

Bill Williamson
  (2:05 PM)

We have to see how the next few days go, but the fact that he was practicing on Wednesday is a good sign ... It would have top be Croyle, but he'd have a shrot leash, I'd think.

Carl (Sylmar, CA)

If the Chargers and Cheifs win this weekend are the Raiders out of the playoff race?

Bill Williamson
  (2:06 PM)

The only way Oakalnd is out fo the race after this weekened is if the Cheifs beat St. Louis and Oakland loses to Denver.

Simon (Atwater, CA.)

Great Job Bill on your coverage, Bill, after watching the none productive wide receivers at Oakland, do you believe they will go after a prolific receiver like Vincent Jackson, Bernard Berrian, TO or any other receiver? Thanks Bill

Bill Williamson
  (2:08 PM)

Thanks, Simon ... Well, Oakland has passed on TO several times and Berrian isn't elite, so it would be Jackson. There will be competition for VJ, but the biggest bidder wins. He'd look good in Silver and Black.

Jeff (KCK)

After that pitiful performance, do the Chiefs have any shot at winning out and taking the division??

Bill Williamson
  (2:09 PM)

It only counted as one loss. If the Chiefs win their next three games regardless of what San Diego and Oakland do, they'll be fine. Getting Cassel back is key.

Matt (Washington DC)

Bill, I enjoy your blog--keep up the great work. My question is about the QB situation in Denver. Do you think that with Orton questionably injured that Denver execs are putting the heat on Stubs to test out the Tebow goods?

Bill Williamson
  (2:13 PM)

I think the fans are the people who are really putting the heat on the team to play Tebow.

anthony (Susanville)

Bill your an idiot if you think VJ would sign with the Raiders you have to be kidding.

Bill Williamson
  (2:15 PM)

Happy holidays to you too, brother ... highest bidder wins.

Jacob Friesenhahn (Dallas)

Do you think the Chiefs will be in search of a back up QB this off season after Croyle's bad game?

Bill Williamson
  (2:17 PM)

No question about it. All teams want from their backup QB is to know he is capable of keeping the team competitive if he has to play in a pinch. Croyle didn't show that last week.

Raider Fan (Oakland)

If Cassel doesnt return it is feasable for St louis to win at home right?

Bill Williamson
  (2:18 PM)

No Cassel, no Chiefs' win, I think.

Gage (Kansas)

could jackson be named head coach in waiting in Oakland?

Bill Williamson
  (2:19 PM)

This is not college. If that happened, Cable would likely walk

Brad (Tulsa)

Do you think jared veldheer is the long term answer at LT for the Raiders? If so with no 1st round pick do you think they go after Mankins or Gainther as free agents to help sure up the right side of the line?

Bill Williamson
  (2:22 PM)

I think Veldheer has shown enough for the Raiders to be excited about in the future.

Wes (Denver)

It's looking like rebuilding time for Denver. I think it makes a ton of sense to franchise Bailey and trade him for a late 1st or second to a contender like Balt/NE/etc. Why keep him?

Bill Williamson
  (2:23 PM)

I think the Broncos should have traded him last year if they were planning to do this to him. Another sign of poor management.

Jacob Friesenhahn (Dallas)

If San Diego loses today are they out of the playoff hunt?

Bill Williamson
  (2:24 PM)

Not technically, but it wouldn't be good.

Corey (Miami)

With the Jets on a free fall - how are the realistic chances of seeing both the Chargers and Chiefs in the playoffs?

Bill Williamson
  (2:27 PM)

A lot of tiebreakers would come into play, but it's possible. With three weeks to go, there is a chance two AFC West teams could play each other in the wild-card round. How cool would that be?

Travis (nevada city ca)

Would you say that the Chiefs have the best shot at becoming a post season main stay in the afc west

Bill Williamson
  (2:28 PM)

No as long as Philip Rivers is in San Diego.

Kyle (Dover)

I read a lot of complaining about the possibility of a 7-9 team getting in the playoffs. But how cool would it be to see that team win the Super Bowl? Their record would be 11-9!

Bill Williamson
  (2:28 PM)

It'd be pretty cool to me. That's the way the playoffs are set up, so what are you going to do?

SGT Bo (Ft Riley)

Hey Bill, Any chance that Dungy comes to Denver?? He is one of if not the classiest man in the league. Brings instant credibility and I think could definitely turn things around here and restore the Broncos on the field and in the character department. Any thoughts?

Bill Williamson
  (2:30 PM)

I don't think he'd want to come to Denver and he'd cost too much for the Broncos' taste.

michael perry (ramstein afb germany)

bill whats your oppinion of the fate of the afc west, the chiefs have had and still have the easiest schedule the chargers have an easy finish the raiders have a tough team this week and yet have beaten everyone in the division, (yes im a raider fan) so long story short what do you think will happen in these last 3 weeks and if kc is the one who takes the divison do you think they deserve it?

Bill Williamson
  (2:32 PM)

Whoever has the most wins at the end of the season deserves it. End of story. The Raiders aren't victims here just because they haven't been able to beat other AFC competition.

Shane (Panama City)

Do you think the Chief's Def will bounce back?

Bill Williamson
  (2:33 PM)

With some balance provided from the offense, yes, I do. I'd be surprised if the Chiefs play terrible for a second straight game.

Matt (Spokane, WA)

Is Floyd playing tonight? How do you see that game panning out??

Bill Williamson
  (2:34 PM)

He's quesitonable.

Caleb (Denver)

How big of change can John Elway bring to the front office next season?

Bill Williamson
  (2:34 PM)

Near 100 percent. Expect it to happen.

phil (san deigo)

Are the Chargers going to win tonight?

Bill Williamson
  (2:35 PM)

I'd be shocked if they don't.

Travis (nevada city ca)

Bill - have you ever had a yelling match with al davis

Bill Williamson
  (2:35 PM)

No. I've enjoyed every experience with Al. I like him.

Bill Williamson
  (2:35 PM)

No. I've enjoyed every experience with Al. I like him.

josh (Michigan)

are Norv Turner's days numbered in SD?

Bill Williamson
  (2:38 PM)

Maybe after the Chargers miss the playoffs this seaosn and next season.

Matt (Spokane, WA)

Any update on the status of Gates, FLoyd and VJax ?

Bill Williamson
  (2:39 PM)

Gates: Doubtful.Floyd: Questionable.Jackson: Good to go.

Simon (Atwater, CA.)

Again Bill, thanks for your work. Bill, what are your thoughts on Oakland drafting a qb during the early rounds of the draft?

Bill Williamson
  (2:40 PM)

It depedns on how Campbell finishes. But if the Raiders fall for a young QB, I can see them taking him in the second round, which is Oakland's first pick.

michael perry (ramstein afb germany)

what do you think the raiders chances are of making it into the post season?

Bill Williamson
  (2:41 PM)

They need to win and they need the other two teams (especially KC) to fall.

Wes (Cape Coral)

Are the Chiefs one WR and one pass rusher away from being a superbowl team next year?

Bill Williamson
  (2:41 PM)

Depends on the WR and pass rusher. But yes, I think you are on the right track.

michael perry (ramstein afb germany)

what is your most honest outlook for the afc west come playoffs

Bill Williamson
  (2:42 PM)

They will have the No. 3 or No. 4 seed. I can see a home win, but it would be tough to win at NE or Ptt in the divisional round. Not impossible, but tough.

Gage (Kansas)

But wouldn't you agree that naming Jackson head coach in waiting would be the typical move by Al Davis to keep him in Oakland and not take the Denver job if offered

Bill Williamson
  (2:44 PM)

I think if he does -- and I can see Davis panicking and making the switch to keep Jackson from going to Denver -- I think he'd simply make the move and not do anything in waiting because Cable would understandably check out in that scenario.

Jim the fasinating guy! (Willows)

Great work Bill, If the 49ers whoop the Chargers tonight , should I buy a round for the house?

Bill Williamson
  (2:45 PM)

That would be right thing to do.

Nick Lieb (Lansdale, PA)

Wouldn't Brady Quinn fit the Minnesota Vikings for their QB situation? Is there any way that they could get him in the offseason?

Bill Williamson
  (2:47 PM)

I wouldn't be surprised if he is cut loose by the new regime. But I don't see anyone just handling their starting gig to him.

PT (Franklin, NC)

If the Chargers win tonight, and Kansas City wins their early game could you see the Raiders coming out deflated and laying an egg against Denver, or do you think this is a different type of Raiders team this year?

Bill Williamson
  (2:48 PM)

Well, we've seen a few different Oakalnd teams this season. But I don't see them losing to Denver.

Sam (Philly)

Am I a delusional Raider fan if I think the they can catch the Chiefs? I expect KC to lose one of the next two w/ or w/o an unhealthdy Cassel and Oakland winning out isn't unrealistic (this 3 game stretch looks just like their 3 game winning streak earlier)?

Bill Williamson
  (2:49 PM)

Not delusional, just very optimistic.

Mark (Santa Clara)

Bill, which Raiders gets more carries this week? Bush or McFad? Any shot it's Bush?

Bill Williamson
  (2:50 PM)

Depends on the game plan. But McFadden will get his cracks.

Sue (Denver)

Bill Bill Bill - Why wouldn't Dungy want the Bronco job? In the past we've been one of the best francises. Two years can't change decades!

Bill Williamson
  (2:50 PM)

These two years can.

Jason (Parker, CO)

Just curious why you and everyone else continutes to talk about PRICE of certain coaches being unattainable for Denver. I know that Denver is on a tight leash for Salary for a head coach, BUT they've already said that they can't afford to do this again in two more years, so they want to make sure to hire the right person.

Bill Williamson
  (2:51 PM)

But the truth is, Denver has to pay for three coaches next season. That will play a role.

Sean (Pensacola, FL)

After their showing in San Diego are you buying or selling the Chiefs playoff chances at this point?

Bill Williamson
  (2:52 PM)

I gave them a mulligan because of the QB deal.

michael perry (ramstein afb germany)

what do you the raiders should do with DHB?

Bill Williamson
  (2:55 PM)

What cna they do? They have to help eh finally becomes consistent.

Gage (Kansas)

Hey Bill sorry big Raiders fan if Jackson does leave and Cable gets fired do you see Jim Harbaugh a possibility of being the Raiders coach if not him who would you think would be a good fit

Bill Williamson
  (2:57 PM)

I think Harbaugh has other ideas.

michael perry (ramstein afb germany)

any thoughts on jason campbell possibly makin the probowl?

Bill Williamson
  (2:58 PM)

Really? ... A lot of people who need to get hurt. A lot of them.

Ryan (San Diego)

What do you think the chances are the Chargers make the playoffs?

Bill Williamson
  (2:58 PM)

Not terrible. If they win out and the Chisfs lose once, they are in.

Zachariah (Durango, CO)

What's the BIGGEST reason the Chiefs have turned around this franchise?

Bill Williamson
  (3:00 PM)

Coaching, better defennse, young talent and Cassel's improvement.

Patrick (Pittsburgh)

B-Dub, if Cassel is back, do you see the Chiefs dropping any of the final three games?

Bill Williamson
  (3:00 PM)

The gmae in St. Louis will not be easy. Oakland will not be easy if it is still in the huint.

Bill Williamson
  (3:00 PM)

The gmae in St. Louis will not be easy. Oakland will not be easy if it is still in the huint.

Bill Williamson
  (3:02 PM)

Great hour, thanks folks. Enjoy tonight's and this weekend's games. Talk to you next week.
