How much does Hayden count against the cap this year, he signed a pretty big deal two years and seems to be very injury prone (like all of the Colts secondary) and not much better (if at all) then the alternatives (Powers and Lacey)? Maybe the Colts would be better off with the lower cost alternatives and spending that money on someone else.
I don't think he's at the front of the line for cuts. A Hayden, Powers, Lacey, Tryon top four would be great if mostly healthy.
With the ship being abandoned by the coaching staff for the Titans. How much will Adams new "win now" attitude come into play deeper in the offseason? Do you see any big name coaches or any decent free agents coming to Tennessee or will Adams set fischer up to fail?
This "abandon ship" theme makes it sound like Washburn and Johnson have done something nefarious. They didn't have contracts, had offers that weren't so good and they were offered better work. Johnson is not a huge loss. Having a lame duck and the win now demand usually go hand in hand.
Hey PK, I constantly hear colts fans complianing about donald browns lack of development. I dont see how you develoop a running back behind our offensive line. It's plain and simply horrible. However, when he gets the holes he needs, hes shown he can run effectively. ala 8 carries for 186 yards. Agree?

Hey Paul, am I the only person wondering why the Titans let Jim Washburn, possibly the best defensive line coach in the game today go, but still haven't fired Chuck Cecil at DC??I know him and Fisher have ties and Fisher likes keeping his staff together but lets be honest, we need a new DC. We shouldn't be giving up as many yards passing as we do with the talent we have in the secondary (minus Chris Hope who I feel has lost a couple steps), athletic, smart, linebackers, and an aggressive defensive line that can get to the quarterback almost at will.Who do you think Fisher should go after for his new DC assuming he fires Cecil. Perhaps Gregg Williams, he and Fisher are close and he almost took the post 2 seasons ago after Jim Schwartz left and look what he's done.The Titans have the talent to stop teams from scoring, which you can see by their Red Zone Defense and lower Points Against Average than you would expect with the yards they give up. We just can't stop tight ends on third down, (AKA Fasano, Lewis, Boss, Witten, Gates, and Cooley.) All had more than 80 receiving yards when they played the Titans. What needs to change?

The last few games really showed us what Owen Daniels can do when healthy. How important is he to the Texans offense when he's healthy, can they afford to let him go knowing they have depth at the TE position, and is he one of the top offseason priorities for the Texans? Thanks
They lost with and without him. They'd like to have him. But he's got knee issues I'd expect to resurface at some point. Price is going to have to be right.
How common is it for assistant/position coaches to switch teams for essentially same title in a new place? Would Coach Washburn have stayed with the Titans organization if he was offered a promotion (say Defensive Coordinator)? or was that something he didn't want anyway?
If your current team wants you gone, more common., If they want to keep you, not common at all. If you're not under contract, common. Washburn is not a coordinator and didn't want to be one. He could have worked three years in Tennessee, one for Fisher with two possibly for a guy who had no interest in how he schemes up front, or three with Reid. No brainer, really.
Hey, Paul. How big of a loss do you think Washburn to Philly is? I'm not too concerned about Craig Johnson, but losing Washburn might hurt. You think Babin might follow him?
We've been hitting on this. It's a very big loss. Babin and Ball are free agents. Washburn was a big backer of Morgan. A replacement on a one-year contract isn't going to be the same. That said, he could still be effective.
PK....it's difficult to watch the Titans assistant coaches jumping ship. Where do you think this is headed?
I don't understand the question. Fisher needs to sign assistants out of his remaining staff and a pool we don't know about. What's the big mystery about where it is heading. Are they supposed to drop out of the league?
There is great value at the top of the draft at CB. Though the Titans have 3 serviceable CB's, how difficult of a transition would it be for one to move to safety? Would it be better for the new guy, if drafted, to move to safety or Finny, Fuller, Verner, or McCourtey? Who would be best there if forced to move?
I like safeties to play safety. Don't solve problems in the most complicated fashion, solve them in the easiest fashion.
Assuming there is no CBA, would you rather the Titans take a QB like Gabbert in the first and a solid defender with their 2nd, or would you prefer a stud defender and possibly one of the QBs that fall into the top of the 2nd?
Gabbert will not be there at No. 8. I prefer a second- or third-round QB at this point. But I'd like to know if they are able to trade before that or not and we have no way of knowing.
Paul if you had to take your best guess. where are the Titans most likely to look for a new quarterback? Will it be a veteran like Orton Kolb, Mcnabb or Hassellback or will they look to the draft?

People leave jobs. They get replaced. The people who relied on them and worked around them move on. I wrote fondly of Vic yesterday. But I'm sure he's uncomfortable that some are saying, literally, that it's like a death in the family.

No Robert, you are not the only one who feels that way about Cecil, let me try to simplify your question. PK, is it too much for fans to ask for Fisher to change the D coordinator? And assuming Cecil stays, can fans really have hope next year that he'll have an improved D next season?
Jim Schwartz and Greg Williams were not great early either. I can't declare the Titans have no chance to be better on defense next year with Cecil. That would be silly. He wasn't good, but his talent was overrated by the team from the start, and some of the guys he relied on played poorly.

Reasons that have been forwarded to fire Jim Caldwell: "the Timeout", the special teams, the Huey situation, Hughes "lack" of development, etc. etc. I personally feel that Caldwell did an admirable job this year given the circumstances, but that apparently puts me at odds with the majority of the fanbase. What was your honest assessment of Caldwell, and if you were a GM, what would you do?
Special teams were a direct result of injuries this year. I'd do what they are doing and leave things alone, heal up. Behind the scenes talk clock management and timeouts.
