Chat with Ohm Youngmisuk

  (1:01 PM)

Hey everybody, thanks for stopping by... let's talk!

Wallybear (Bogota (NJ))

Ohmie! Can ya name a few of the prospects the Giants have had in for visits? Do they like Pouncey at #19? How about Bruce Carter in RD2?

  (1:05 PM)

Wallybear, The Giants don't announce who they bring in for visits but I have seen the Daily News report that they will meet with Temple DT Muhammad Wilkerson soon. I think they had people at the Illinois and Boston College pro days as well where DT Corey Liuget, RB Mikel Leshoure and OT Anthony Castonzo participated at respectively. Pouncey is the name that our experts Mel Kiper and Todd McShay have predicted the most for the Giants at 19 because of their need for a backup center and guard at the moment with Shaun O'Hara, Rich Seubert and Adam Koets all coming off surgeries. Bruce Carter is an interesting prospect. Not sure if he will be around when the Giants pick in the second round but he'd be interesting.

victor (monroe,loisiana)

ohm who do you think will win the n.l.east?and my thoughts and prayers are with you in japan and i will get word around?

  (1:07 PM)

Victor, my guess would be the Phillies. I know, it's boring. But the pitching staff is nasty. And while I am not Japanese, thanks for keeping your thoughts and prayers with those in Japan. They need it and lot's of help. Very scary stuff.

Dez Bryant (Dallas)

Oooohhhhhhhh!!!!! Shiny objects!!!! Can I borrow $750,000.00, Homie?

  (1:08 PM)

Dez, I love the malls too. Hope you can keep shopping!

Elisha M. (NY)

Noooooooooooooooooooo!!! Daddy say bad men lock us in our room cause we want too much money. I don't want to go to time out!!! Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

  (1:09 PM)

Elisha.... LOL. Yo, be prepared for this thing to last. I still have a feeling it goes to training camp.

Pete (MI)

Sparty sucks.

  (1:10 PM)

See you in football season. You do remember football right? Or have you forgotten since MSU is going for its fourth straight win over Michigan? Signed, Big Ten Champs.

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

Who is the Best & the Worst Head Coach for the New York Giants that you have ever seen?

  (1:11 PM)

Well Chris, I have only been around the Giants really during the Coughlin era, which I guess is plenty to see for best and worst combined in one since I've seen Super Bowl victory and complete collapses.

Sho'nuff (Harlem)

Should the Giants spend a late draft pick on Leroy Green for special teams this year. He's got quick hands, good leadership skills and experience under pressure. Plus as a rookie getting pizza is not a problem for him. Miss me......

  (1:13 PM)

Sho'nuff, I haven't seen much of LeRoy... California RB you talking about? I can definitely see the Giants looking at running back with Ahmad's contract up. The Giants very likely will bring back Bradshaw but you never know and they can get younger at RB. Who knows how much longer Brandon will be around. He does have two years remaining on his contract but you never know what will happen.

nyadam (new jersey)

do u think the giants should draft a running back since you cant count on jacobs having another healthy season and with bradshaws fumbling.

  (1:15 PM)

Nyadam, I think I may have just answered that question. But yeah, it doesn't hurt to draft another running back, maybe not use a high draft pick on one but if there is a good RB available after round one, wouldn't hurt. Because free agency may not begin until after the draft, Giants might have to cover themselves with Bradshaw's contract up.

Duke (NJ)

Do you think the Giants are going offense or defense in the first round? Do you think they will make their pick based on if they think they can sign Cofield or not? I know they have worked out a few DTs already

  (1:18 PM)

Duke, I think the most value at 19 is at offensive line and defensive line. It appears there will be a lot of offensive linemen available at 19 but Jerry Reese could always go DL again. You are right about Cofield. The Giants want him back but there's no way to know what he can get on the market once FA begins. So the Giants could go DL because a guy like Wilkerson from Temple is supposed to be a stud. But considering the Giants went defensive line with their first two picks last year (JPP and Linval), it understandable why they would go offensive line this year, especially with O'Hara, Koets and Seubert all on the mend.

dalaw738 (daytona beach)

Ohm do u think victor cruz will have a bigger role this season!!!!!!!!!!

  (1:19 PM)

Dalaw738, he'll have a bigger role simply because he will be healthy. But I do think he will have to compete for his job in camp and I expect him to make it again. But he still has Nicks, Manningham, Smith and Barden ahead of him. Smith and Barden are coming off surgeries so if they aren't ready by the start of the season and Cruz has an impressive camp again, maybe he gets some PT. But the Giants could also bring back Derek Hagan and remember, Hixon is back too.

wjrce ( )

Do you think the Giants might surprise and go with Ingram from Alabama?

  (1:21 PM)

wjrce, I don't see Ingram falling to 19. But let's say he does. Then the Giants got to take a hard look at him... I love Ingram. He may not be the most explosive and speedy back but he's so solid. He absolutely destroyed Michigan St in the bowl game and he wasn't healthy all year last year.

Anthony (New York)

Ohm what up?!.. In your opinion what are the 3 biggest needs to fill this off season via draft and or free agency for the Giants?!

  (1:23 PM)

Wud up Anthony? LB, OL and secondary speed. I think they need another linebacker even if Perry Fewell can get by with two while playing three safeties. But they need a playmaker there. Offensive line because of O'Hara, Seubert and Koets all coming off surgeries and who knows what happens with Andrews (back and contract) and secondary because I think the Giants need another corner for depth and they need more speed.

Tommy T (MA (unfortunately))

would you agree the giants need to get a decent punter?

  (1:24 PM)

TT, well, I think the Giants will still give Dodge every chance to come back as the punter. If he can get over some of the shakiness from last year as a rookie, he should be fine. He showed plenty of flash last year with his power. He just needs to settle down. He will have competition from probably a veteran punter in camp.

Merv the Perv (NY)

What's up, Homie?

  (1:24 PM)

Wud up!

dalaw738 (florida)

lets go giants

  (1:25 PM)

D, you might have a long wait before you can say that when the Giants are actually on a field practicing again.

Kevin (VA)

What are the odds the G-Men will make a "major" free agent move to solidify the secondary, (CB's)???/? They need a shutdown corner to reduce Vick's, and Romo's options in key division games

  (1:26 PM)

Well Kevin, I guess "major" would be Nnamdi Asomugha. I know the Giants would love to have Nnamdi. Justin Tuck has already said he will go after Nnamdi the minute free agency begins but I don't know if the Giants can afford to spend the big bucks on Nnamdi after spending a ton on Antrel Rolle last season. But I agree with you, the Giants need another great corner to help against the Eagles, for sure.

  (1:29 PM)

Alright guys, thanks for hitting me up on the chat! See you all next week!
