Hi everyone. We're doing 30 minutes today.
Best case for the Bronco's for the first three picks?
Von Miller and a guy like Oregon Stae DT Stephen Paea and a running back such as Leshoure or a tight end like Kyle Rudolph.
Will the chargers trade back into the first round? If they do what are the two positions they will target with these picks? I am thinking DE then OLB.
Maybe a tackle if a good one falls in 25-32 range.
Hi Bill, as we get closer to tonight I sense that Kansas City may trade down towards the end of the first round or into the second round if they don't take Carimi (and hopefully not Ayers). But do you see any scenario by which they buck the Pioli trend and trade UP to get a top WR (i.e. Julio) or the best T available? Thanks!
I think they are more apt to trading down than up. Jones is a hot ticket and he will be hard to get.
Any news on the Broncos/Texans trade? No actual players could be involved, right? Only picks, until lockout situation is cleared. 11 seems a little far down, but if it gets us more picks in round 2, then let's do it. Go Broncos!
I think Houston would have a very hard time moving up to get to No. 2.
Miller, Darus, Peterson...All of them seem like a great hit no matter the direction that Denver takes...the key is the second round right? Is there going to be some DE or DT of quality in the 2nd round?
Should be some decent DTs available when Dnever pciks at No. 36.
Think the Chiefs and Pats will be swapping their first rounder? Possibility? Who would the Pats look for if they're looking to trade their late 1st round with the Chiefs?
I could see it. They know each other well. I could see the Chiefs dropping down to No. 27 and getting a strong player.
im going to be in jack london square tonight for the raiders draft party but i dont think i should cuz we hav no first round pick what do you think
Go, have a great time, no matter where they pick. You would be bummed if you don't go and they move into the first round.
Better player Leshoure or Rudolph?
I think Leshoure may be a better fit for Denver.
Are the Broncos still looking to trade down or are they content sitting at #2 and taking Von Miller
I think they'd prefer to move down, but it is a longshot so they have to be ready to make their call at No. 2.
Do you think Von Miller could be Denver's Middle Linebacker and move DJ Williams back to Outside Linebacker?
Miller is a pass-rusher. He'd stay on the outside.
Is there any possible way for the Raiders to land Wiz 2.0 and Kaepernick?
That would be tricky. If they trade up for one of the two, then they'd have to make another trade to get the other. The only way i think that happens is if Kaeperncik falls to No. 48 and Wiz falls to No. 81.
Earlier you said that Denver's best case would be Von Miller, Paea and Leshoure...would they get an A+ in your mind if that happens?
I'd think it would be pretty close as far as immediate post-draft grades go.
Great job Bil. If you were San Diego with 5 early picks, would you trade up to get a stud and 2 more players or be happy with 5 different players who all have the potential to play
I think I'd stay at No., 18 and then try to move back up into the first round.
Hey Bill, Do you think Justin Houston could fall to the Chiefs 2nd round pick with the realization of a failed drug test?
No. 51 may be too far. I think he's in the 30-40 range.
Cam Newton falls to 2, how much of a hot commodity does the #2 pick become since the bills pick at 3
That would be interesting, Arizona (No. 5) and Tennessee (No. 8)could come into play. But I think Newton goes to Carolina.
How high are the odds that oakland trades into the first round?
I'd say 50 percent. I could see it.
B-Dub:Yes or No---AJ will have five players after his first five picks?
I'm guessing those five picks get turned into three or four players.
Hey Bill thanks for all your hard work...do you actually get to be in the War room in Denver?
Meida room is the only place we're allowed to go.
The Chiefs have hinted at being interested in Ricky Stanzi in the middle rounds. Is Stanzi better than Croyle? If not, wouldn't it make more sense to go get a Billy Volek-esque guy once free agency begins?
Stanzi is a prospect and he could be a player who the Chiefs feel can develop into a potential starter. The jury is in on Croyle. He can't help the Chiefs win. Time to move on.
Your best guess, will the Broncos come away from the draft with a QB and any point this weekend?
Not in the first three rounds. But that's just me. I know others feel like they could take a QB early.
Seems like Hue Jackson is still trying to figure his guys out? What the Raiders most pressing needs? Raider fans have heard "be patient, we're getting there" long enough.
I agree with Jackson that Oakland is close, talent-wise. But expect a lot of help at OL and in the secondary.
Tell me Von Miller is a smokescreen at 2 for Denver. No way we can pass up on Dareus, right?
I'm confused myself, Adam. All indications have suddenly moved toward Miller. I'm not sure what to makle of it. But if I had to guess right now, I'm leaning twoard Miller. It's fascinating.
With all of the rumors circling the Raiders trading up to the First round, whom do you feel that they are targeting if this is true?
OL, CB or QB.
what positions will the chargers be going for in this years draft?
DE, LB, OT, S, CB, WR
Any chance Marvin Austin falls to Denver in round 2?
Sure, good chance of it at No. 36.
I watched a special on Ryan Mallett. Do you think he is worthy of a first round pick? He doesn't seem that bright, and has off the field issues. Is he another JaMarcus Ruseell? Lazy and disinterested??
He's talented, but there are red flags. I'm not sure I'd move up to get him. If he fall to me, fine, but a move up for Mallett is risky biz.
after watching the year of the qb with locker, newton, and tyrod taylor, i was wondering if any teams in the afc west have shown any interest in taylor. seems like he could be a sleeper.
where is jimmy smith supposed to go? is it guaranteed that he's going to be picked tonight?
Temas that could tkae him include Philly, Baltimore and the Raiders.
Brooks Reed seems to fit the type of player the Chiefs love, team captain, multi year starter. If they trade down, would he be a serious consideration. Also, is Phil Taylor on their draft board?
I think both of thsoe players could be trade-down possibilities for KC in the 25-30 range.
hey bill, is it legal tomorrow to trade Orton for SECOND ROUND pick? but instead of saying its Orton, just put a player to be named later.
No, not yet. But it's a fluid situation.
Hey Bill I'm getting married tomorrow and I need to know before I do...will Denver be a top three pick next year no matter what they do? Your option of course
You're stealing your brother's bride, Hank?
Do you still believe Rudolph will be there when the Broncos pick in the 2nd?
I think he's in the 35-45 range.
Who do you think best fits oaklands new offensive scheme?
Like Hue Jackson says: bullies.
The Raiders need help at safety as well as corner. Do you see Al taking Robert Sands in the 3rd or 4th round if he's still available?
I see a lot of CB and safeties being targets of Oakland in the mid rounds.Great time, folks. Got to get back to the madness. Enjoy the draft. Talk to you next week.
